I would think the best time for a reverse split would be when hunt gold switches from pink sheets to otcbb...by that time a lot will have changed anyways and the company will be in a much stronger position to sustain a RS and continue to gain exposure on a bigger board...JMO, but I don't think that a big board nor RS is around any close corners...there is much to be 'done' before such a move is feasible...
-PD
Great Points! Agreed 110%...one millstone at a time...one page at a time...that is surely the best way to go here!...we all know what is expected of the BOD of hunt gold, as everything is neatly laid out in recent PRs...as things progess, 'the truth' will speak for itself...personally, im using this as a tremendous loading opportunity...but that's just me...'cheap as chips'...LOL!
-PD
unless, of course, 'he' is not a 'theif' or is not in such a position that makes 'hunt gold BOD' appear as theives...in that regard, the BOD seem to be 'doing' everything that a 'real' company would actually do if it were trying to prove it's legitimacy to investors...the plan has been outlined...and if all goes well, we will have a detailed website, and verifiable evidence that the company is REAL...if not, well...we all know what that means...but the 'if' is what 20% of u is intrigued by, and im sure that the 'if' is what is keep the so called naysayer around....when it moves, I will bet that even the usual naysayers will quietly make a cent or two...but they just wont tell anyone how wrong they turned out to be... GL
-PD
agreed....the website is pivotal here...However, what will the investor sentiment be if the website goes online this month and drilling begins end of month???...
-PD
at this point...we will see! Either the investor wins or the naysayer wins...the dice has been rolled, and the numbers will land wherever they land...it's the nature of the beast of speculating... Why so serious?
-PD (all smiles...
they ARE very transparent! Look at the detailed PRs ...weather one decifers a good outcome or bad outcome is entirely dictated by perception...I have followed this play since July, and if u think the PRs since the onset of November have not been the slightest of transparent, then I suggest reading the ones preceeding and notice the gaps of communication for weeks at a time...and now we are getting updated on the regular while people like urself completely 'miss the point'...November has been stated as game time, and so here it is! Take it or leave it, but transparency is staring u right in the face! Anyone agree/disagree?
-PD ( go hunt go !!!
I am not sure, but I can certainly guess that lower oil prices and exploration related costs, coupled with gold price inclinations, will set such miners up nicely better than when cost were through the roof (when oil was +145/barrel)...the timing for hunt gold could not have been better! Perhaps the delays have Been for good reason...look how frequent and detailed the PRs have been from Nov 3rd onwards (good sign of the promised transparency) ...GL!
-PD
let the hunt gold website go up...let the promises get met...let the drilling begin...and it may surprise u what a gem of an opportunity hunt gold actually is...however, it is clear there is a difference of opinion here, so I will just give it till end of nov and the 'proof' should speak for itself...GL!
-PD
I hear ya...there are more than 'a few' things coming 'true'...and too many 'people' are trying to make a connection where there isn't one...just sittin back and seeing what transpires...I have been accumulating more at these 'cheap as chips' prices, while otheres simply play the repeat 'chicken or the egg' argument! LOL ! oh well, suppose not every1 has what it takes to make the green
-PD ( it will be nice to see the website, when its finished,,,it will be more exciting than readin the 'same old same old ' here ...
great dd pris, hit the target on the Ed!

Hard-hit gold miners set for promise of cost relief

More Business & Investing News... By Cameron French - Analysis
TORONTO (Reuters) - After a largely disappointing third-quarter earnings season, gold producers are looking forward the benefits of lower costs and widening profit margins, thanks to the rapid decline in the price of oil and other production inputs.
Lower costs for energy, reactants such as sulfuric acid, and possibly even labor have been the silver lining in a gloomy financial and economic climate that has largely closed off credit supply to miners -- and even hurt the price of gold, which normally rises during times of turmoil.
While gold is well off its peak in March, and down 11 percent so far in 2008, its slide pales in comparison with the plunge in the oil price, which is down 40 percent this year and a hefty 60 percent from July.
Gold was at $742 an ounce on Monday, while New York light crude was at $56.73 a barrel.
For gold miners who have watched costs shoot higher over the past few years at about the same pace as soaring metal prices, the sudden drop in input costs takes a lot of the sting out of the weaker gold price.
"I think the cost side of the equation has probably peaked in the short term and companies will start to see the benefit of a little less pressure on costs," said David Whetham, a resource fund manager at Scotia Cassels.
Along with the tumbling oil price, the cost of sulfuric acid, which is used in the mining process, has by some accounts fallen nearly 50 percent from recent peaks. As well, currencies in mining hotbeds such as Chile, Brazil, and Canada have fallen hard against the U.S. dollar in the past two months, lowering locally denominated costs.
COST PEAK IN Q3
Peter Marrone, chief executive of mid-tier Canadian producer Yamana Gold (YRI.TO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), says the recent trend of sharply higher year-over-year costs likely reached its peak in the third-quarter.
"By the end of the year and into next year, I think we'll start to see some improvements in the cost structure," he said in a recent interview.
The exchange rate shifts should benefit Yamana's Chilean and Brazilian operations and will particularly relieve cost pressure on the labor side, which along with energy has been a key factor in recent cost inflation.
The Brazilian real has fallen 29 percent versus the U.S. dollar since the end of August. Over the same period, the Chilean peso has dropped 21 percent and the Canadian dollar has retreated about 12 percent.
Other players are also looking ahead to cost relief to help cushion the blow from a quarter in which nearly all major gold miners missed earnings expectations because of operational troubles and soaring prices.
"While there has been recent weakness in the gold prices, we've started to see lower input prices in the marketplace and this should help to mitigate the impact on margins in the future, assuming that he trend continues," Jamie Sokalsky, chief financial officer of Barrick Gold (ABX.TO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), said on a conference call.
The cost relief won't be quite as immediate as the drop in spot prices, however, because fuel and reactants are often bought in bulk ahead of time, a strategy that protected many miners from rising costs when crude was soaring sky high.
This means any cost relief will likely be muted in the fourth quarter.
"It really is a question for next year," said John Hughes, an analyst at Desjardins Securities.
"In terms of this market, it's a medium or longer term discussion, but still a positive."

I realize that u cld them and they said that they dont know of Hunt Gold, but my post showed the name of a Frederick C Bauman responding to a query from a poster July 28th,2008 and he verified that the MOCKINGBIRD MINE is owned by HUNT GOLD!!! ...DD on Mr.Bauman will show his connection with McIntyre & Bauman Group...if he is verifying the ownership of the mine as belonging to Hunt Gold, does that not correlate positively with Hunt Gold's claim that MOCKINGBIRD is their mine...Either way, u are indeed right...if it is legit, then early investors make a fortune...if it is not legit, then investors lose likewise...That's the game and risk of speculation so we wait and see...Only a few business days now and the story will begin to unfold quite quickly...GL!
