Funding to BLOZF shouldn't be effected by Breathtec whatsoever. Should it?
More... "coming soon"
Should be on CNSX?
The grant money expires in January. The patent needs t be acquired by July. They did give Boock stock options as an incentive to keep working. I would say things are fine for now, but the public should have some idea of progress on the device.
I agree. Should be a SOLID run coming here. Especially if we get some nice media (pictures and videos of progress in the FAIMS lab and interviews with Yost)... stuff that could generate some national coverage.
I believe that there will be a big news release this week that will likely talk about FAIMS and what will be the outcome for Alpha.
One postulation is that Alpha will be "combined" with FAIMS, or at least specific parts... basically, it would mean, there won't be a beta.
However, these guys are incentivized to secure the patent, because they get 7.5m shares. I am not sure how they will approach this. It could happen a variety of ways.
I think Yost is going to ultimately make that call. Not management. Becuase Yost knows how to build this, management doesn't.
Just guessing.
New website: Looks to me like it is a work in progress. As I posted before, I told everyone that media would be coming, and part of the website re-design is clearly part of that process. They said news would be in Jan., so I expect this week is the week.
A refreshing opinion.
And if the news that is released is fantastic?
Creeping lower... crickets...
Did some digging to see if I could find anything patent, or science related. I found nothing with regards to FAIMS or the Cannabix breathalyzer that has yet to be discussed. Nothing new. Yawn.
This will likely be addressed in the upcoming release. The options to Boock however have provided replacement to some degree.
That's what some here have started to reckon. I do not think that is the case. People selling their shares because they have lost faith in good science, in my opinion, is poor investing. They have Yost on board, it would be foolish to sell. Quiet is scary.
I do however acknowledge that at this point, there is not much else to talk about. So, the topic of management's lack of PR, is inevitable.
I was told that news would be released during January. If it is not, then I have nothing else to say and will be quite upset (more so than I am currently).
I would agree that there could be close friends and family picking up cheap shares. However, that would imply that management is personally sabotaging the share price at the expense of the shareholders to benefit those that are inner circle. I would like to believe that is not the case. If there was evidence of that, this company would be done.
Management hasn't picked up any shares AND hasn't unloaded anything since Yost (more or less). Bottom Line. Hold and let's not speculate any more.
Nope, no update.
My posts have gone from analytical to merely feeling bored and posting about how I wish they would do something. I am hoping for some science to critique. But even I will admit... crystal balls could predict this one better than any analytic reasoning at this point.
Saddddd daysssssss
I was thinking more about the possibility of marketing materials being in preparation. I think if Cannabix wants to be a front runner in the development of a THC breathalyzer, they need to step up there marketing game. The fact that they have completely held back on all PR, news release, media interviews, is disappointing to say the least. And I KNOW, I am not realizing this just now. We can't change the past. It is likely that they have been trying to conserve cost, however, they are a publicly traded company and shareholders deserve more than just a update on progress with respect to development; we deserve a fair attempt at increasing share value.
Further to your point on infringement:
It will be interesting, because both Breathtec and Cannabix have publicly announced that they EACH have the opportunity to EXCLUSIVELY acquire the UFL patent for FAIMS.
I am unsure how that will play out. I have a few guesses. E.g. Cannabix picks up the rights after they realize they have a working device and then license to Breathtec. Or, wait it out... if the cannabis breathalyzer can't be miniaturized, then Breathtec can acquire.
But as I have posted before, if Cannabix doesn't acquire the rights by July. Sell your shares, because it is done. It is important to note that Boock was hired and given options... a very positive sign. Perhaps when we see this new corporate presentation, we might see that they have decided to acquire the patent.
July 31st is judgement day folks! No matter what rationale one uses to justify investment (or not), if they don't acquire by July 31st, it will be time to run.

From Dec. 29th, 2015 MDA.
"UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA RESEARCH AND PATENT OPTION AGREEMENT
On August 6, 2015, the Company entered into research and patent option agreements with Yost Research Group at
the University of Florida to develop a marijuana breath detection device based upon high-field ion mobility
(FAIMS) and mass spectrometry (MS). The research and patent option agreements allow Cannabix to jointly
develop technology with the Yost Research Group using the FAIMS-MS system. The agreement provides Cannabix
the option to acquire an exclusive worldwide license to University of Florida US Patent 8,237,118, entitled “Partial
Ovoidal FAIMS Electrode”, Patent filed on August 21, 2008, invented by Richard A. Yost, Todd A. Prox, Marilyn
Prieto and Jennifer G. Bryant (known as the “Patent Rights”), in the area of breath analysis of controlled substances.
The option period expires on July 31, 2016. During the option period, the Company shall have the right to use the
Patent Rights for research and evaluation purposes. If the Company decides to exercise its option within the option
period, the parties will have 90 days to negotiate license terms in good faith."
That is fake.
... you have seen the monthly reports haven't you? There has been no news of beta because of the following:
Alpha had road blocks with regards to sensitivity and is still "in development". FAIMS is taking the spotlight. Components from the two will be merged and that will require miniaturization of FAIMS.
Specific news coming soon.
I wish websites like VAPRWEAR would refrain from posting such non-sense.
Like I have been preaching. It is coming! Thank you for sharing this Carthnel.
Yea, I was never given a specific timeline, just that it was coming soon. You are right, that was about a month ago.
Leads me to believe that something is in the pipes.
Also, Shell3 - I personally believe that out of all the players you list, regardless of the market cap... Yost has the science to get this done.
A company could have all the money in the world, but without the science, you have nothing. The critics will say we have nothing yet, which technically true, though the science has been shown to work. It is a matter of engineering and waiting for the news release to suggest the patent rights have been acquired.
So are you suggesting a news release isn't coming soon? I assume it is based on the fact that there website says they have a new presentation coming soon.
I can't remember who it was posting it, but they mention that the key step is in miniaturizing FAIMS. Alpha device is being merged with components of FAIMS.
I believe you are wrong with regards to Beta, because Beta advancement would suggest that Alpha will be moved forward and trial testing would be completed on it, i.e. it would graduate to Beta. That isn't going to happen, because Alpha, based on diffeent spectroscopic methods compared to FAIMS, is not sensitive enough.
My guess is that there will be one final breathalyzer that utilizes aspects of the two. Strcutural components from Alpha, and spectroscopic chmaber and detection system from FAIMS.
Saying that you think they have "figured it out" doesn't really mean much. In fact it is a redundant comment.. They have a full patent on FAIMS that they can take advantage of... they have the science figured out. The question is whether they can figure out the minitiarization as I state above.
Beta to final product will not be short lived. Trial testing will take a considerable amount of time. Typically full trials on new products that require government approval take 1-2 MINIMUM. That would depend on where the trial is completed. If it is done by the government or at the University under there strict laws for research ethics, it will take forever. If they hire a private company, then much quicker, but still not likely quicker than a year or two.
Wouldn't be surprised if we got an update/news release this week. DEFINITELY due. Hopefully some media that gives us a look at Yost's mastery.
Thanks for your post Euroconversions. The points you draw are surely of legitimate concern.
I do not think that comparison of our company to Hounds Labs (I assume that is who you refer to), is of any value to shareholders on this board. My reason is that, despite claims of having a means to detect THC in breath, with trials set to begin, there is no proof whatsoever. The point has been made many time on this board, there are certainly many groups working on devices, who are not publicizing their results. This is no simple challenge, it is a complex scientific/engineering feat. Without proof, speculating holds no value.
With that said, with Cannabix has yet to release media of their Alpha device, and speculation has driven the share price down, in the absence of news release. Management has claimed from day 1 that Alpha is not for public display. I credit them in that. The device was not public worthy. They have not released beta yet, because they changed their direction. FAIMS.
We do have the following to trust in: Yost. He is a world renowned expert and has successfully contributed to alcohol breathalyzer development. Goldberger is also a world expert. These two gentleman are two of the world's top analytic chemists with the experience for the job.
Though I am unsure if you have a scientific background, I ask you to consider that this is a company whom have their hands tied up in complex science, with great possibility. Management, aside from Raj, are not scientists. When Raj's expertise was not enough, i.e. Alpha not making 100 percent, management brought in the guys to do the job. That in and of itself was what kept me invested and is the reason I will remain invested.
You are correct - after the partnership with Yost, management became uninterested in small news releases that pump the stock price. The Yost group is not going to tell you exactly what they are doing in the lab every day, as they do not want the public to know their intellectual property and the method to their expertise.
3 months is an appropriate timeline for an update on progress, so we should expect one soon (I will pretend I don't know that one is coming for the sake of getting criticized).
My two cents.
Likely only the drafting date of the original template/form. This document is certified and filed through the Canadian Securities Exchange, you can find it on their website, after you visit Cannabix's page.
What is awesome, is to see Boock's LinkedIn change, the options be delivered. It certainly suggests he is on this thing full time. Can't wait until we get our xmas present in the next few weeks and see some media and a great update. A bunch back up in SP will be much deserved for our patience.
It certainly does feel like a miracle at this point. But to think how far they have come from the time of WestPoint!
I was quite happy with the phone call I received from management. While no one seemed to believe me, they also failed to do their own DD, as they did not reach out to the company themselves.

The motto has never been to buy high and sell low. A news release and new corporate presentation and media is coming in the next few weeks.
To everyone posting on here that they want small, quick, paragraph news updates, that isn't how medical/bio-tech companies operate. This is a start-up investing in a technology that is ridiculously complex. They don't publish small updates in the media. Companies like this don't care about maintaining share price - if the investors who day-trade, lose faith, that's their loss. Nothing has changed in the past two months. It is a poor time of year for companies like this, as they end up drifting.
Everyone on here is posting theory after theory about how management has bailed, or, "no-news is bad news". Yost is developing this technology in a lab and isn't game for publishing the small advances made each day.
I do believe they will be operating on the principle of bio-conjugation. I made a post some time ago now where I provided my thoughts on their technology.
My previous post was speculative. Nobody, except Hound Labs themselves knows what their technology entails. We must wait and see.
The grant money that Cannabix provided to Yost is set to expire soon, is it not Shell3? I remember mid-January. Not that it matters, because Boock is in the Lab and he's getting compensated.
These guys have the funding to go the distance, no insider sells, a ridiculously precise technology, perhaps the most experienced supervisor in Yost, and a patent setting the stage for acquisition if they can miniaturize.
It's in preparation at the very least.
I was alluding to the fact that he would benefit if there was an upcoming news release that the company envisioned would take the stock price above the option price (which we are all expecting soon).
Though I am not sure that the timing of the news release or the stock option offering really matters.
While speculative, I would agree that this looks good.
Yost and Boock entered into a typical "research and option" contract with Cannabix. Added as consultants, they are given some grant money to further prove they can develop their product. They are officially added to the companies roster when they start working on the device (some time ago) and are provided stock options when they reach milestones for development.
We should see this reflected in the nature of the next media release. A nice xmas present for Boock nonetheless.
Yost himself doesn't present at conferences. His graduate students such as Boock and Costanzo do though.
Interesting to see that Lifeloc has refrained from publicizing their development (if they are pursuing it... they did receive their grant). Maybe they will present it in the scientific setting. It is not uncommon to see industry post at academic fairs.
This event will not be cast a webinar to the general public, so it would be nice if someone was close enough to attend.
The fact that Ion-Gas is clearly also working on a device is interesting. It goes to show there are more players in this game then would appear in the news. Think about how quiet Lifeloc has been...
From Ion-Gas' website:
"We provide complete systems characterising gas-phase samples for specific applications:
• ION-CAN
Non-invasive detection of Cannabis in human breath."
---
It seems to me that there are many spectroscopic methods for detecting THC in breath. The race is certainly on to put these systems into miniaturized hand-held form.
I do not have any connection to management. I would also argue that, me alluding to the fact that a news release is coming should not be all that surprising, let alone consider "pumping". Wouldn't you expect a news release by now...?
From what I have heard, there will be a release in the new year.
This is a true test of patience. Let's hope that for those of us holding long and strong there will be a payoff in the new year.
From what I gather, he will be delivering a talk, as opposed to having a booth which would display their device. This conference is well known for having booths to display products, though. We should keep an eye and see if they do a display.
As of right now, he is giving a talk on FAIMS technology. This is likely to raise awareness of the ability for FAIMS to detect THC in breath. This is more about showing off the Yost group and their work, then it is about Cannabix. As investors, we must remember that the Yost group is working on building a device, because that is the next step in taking their science and making something of it. Yost is interested in proving his science is of value and importance. They prove this by showing the science world at conferences. In Boock's talk, he would have a couple slides that suggest that they are commercializing a breathalyzer with Cannabix, but would not divulge scientific secrets.
When I spoke to management recently, they suggested that Yost provides updates to Cannabix nearly daily, with regards to progress that is taking place with regards to development of the device, which Boock is working on with Yost and Goldberger.
Shell3,
What you have found is an abstract submission for the upcoming 2016 Pittcon conference (the world's largest conference on laboratory science). Basically, Jared Boock has submitted an abstract because he is going to be giving a talk. In his talk, he will talk about FAIMS detection of THC. This does not imply that he will be talking about commercialization of a product for breath detection, but it could. My bet is that in his talk, he would hint at the fact he has been working with Cannabix to develop a product, but would not divulge any secrets.
B136 is the location... you coincidentally found B136 through the Government of Canada's webpage. They are are unrelated.
Maggie Tam will be there, likely because she is presenting at the conference as well, so she is "presiding" over the session. Meaning she will likely introduce Boock to the audience before he begins, and would keep him on time.
Costanzo and Yost are authors also, because they have worked on FAIMS, nothing more there.
Is this clear?
If anyone on this board is from Atlanta, Georgia... YOU SHOULD ATTEND.
Large volume moving on opening on the Canadian side, both today and yesterday... someone from Scotia Capital picking up tons of shares... still no M,D&A available (can that be held, if their is a news release pending?)
That's fair. This would be my first post which could be subject to scrutiny given that I have made claims.
However, I stand by my claims, as I spoke with management. In January when there is a news release with media, exactly as I have claimed, I will cite my post and proceed to thank everyone in believing in me!
For now I will return to my analytic commentary.
