So how much time to "supply" the money?
Here's something to shoot for:
http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/internet/03/07/speed.record/index.html
May I ask a question.
You must assume that the movie will be sold pretty soon. Under what circumstances would this be well received by the market? What if there is no up front money?
Ray hung in there for 250K a year, plus shares. You guys make me laugh sometimes. BTW - want to know how he kept it together? Over promise and under deliver, repeat.
The "blackout" just seems to be stating the obvious, so it doesn't really concern me. I really would like to see Ray part ways with NV though - he is everything that the new management is claiming not to want to be.
LOL. Great "truism" trex. Where was it a couple of years ago? Did the folks you and Ray were selling shares to get the benefit of that truism?
It's nice to see some evidence of an ongoing relationship with MSFT. It's not alot of money, but it's money from the right company.
I think that if what were seeing is "the best they can do" then there is an enormous disconnect between what they claim to have and how they convey it to the world. Furthermore, the sheer fact that Ketch has allowed Ray to remain onboard is frightening to me and probably to alot of other shareholders. I am simply not impressed at all by Ketch, and will continue to measure him by his ability to generate the only type of interest that matters...buyers of the stock, and funding.
The shareprice states, very clearly that this company is looking too far ahead. They are loosing sight of short term interest and you and I are paying the price for it. If they have things going on which can be shared to generate interest they had better start sharing. Period.
Something has to give here folks. And it seems to be the shareprice. It's fine to have long term goals and to work towards them, but we deserve to be treated much better than this in the short term. I can't for the life of me figure out why the company chooses to have to dig themselves out of a hole; they're certainly in no position to make any assumptions about the future, they've been dead wrong in gauging interest every step of the way. The way this is going, Ketch is going to end up with alot of free time to listen to his interviews and read his president's letters from "back in the day when I ran a company".
Earth to Brad Ketch.
You may have to actually release some info here and stem this tide of selling. Funding operations through 144's does not work particuliarly well if you consistently allow this to happen.
I'm using "ignore" as well. Thank you Panda for acknowledging that you made a mistake.
They make the same amount of money that they did when you were telling us that this stock was going to the moon. Explain why you didn't have a problem with it then?
On a side note, why don't we figure out how you and I might meet up? You're cluttering up this board and I'd like to speak with you about it.
Pretty neat review. Perhaps things are finally looking up with the movie. I had lost faith that it could generate any up-front money, but I'd like to be proven wrong.
Can we take an informal poll here:
With everything that has happened of late, with both the shareprice, pr's,interviews etc. do you believe the company will be successful and deliver value to shareholders:
a) more than ever
b) same
c) less than ever
Thanks.
Thanks Sherman - but why would NV be discussing pricing with the end user, that's not their business model? Also, how can anyone gauge whether the RBOC believed what they said?
Sp prestigious it makes me wanna cry.
Pretty weak RAQ. Selling 15 cent shares is really ridiculous - as is the notion that we are somehow "lucky" to be able to sell them at all. Anybody else have any thoughts on this latest WE?
Oh that's "weekly excuses" for those unfamiliar.
Or perhaps RAQNFS - recently asked questions not from spokeshave. LOL
BTW - did anyone else read that like I did, the company is leaving the door open to another reverse split?
Call them Spoke.
Otherwise you'll never know whether they're avoiding the questions or just have others questions to answer before yours.
Austin - I'm not sure what NV would consider fair at this point. Myself, I'd consider 2-3 dollars fair. They don't have tons of debt, so that's a good thing and a selling point to an acquirer.
The poison pill was either incredibly premature or a strategic move to make shareholders think they had something other people wanted. Think about it, this company can't get funding other than 144's right now as we speak in 2003. You're telling me that in 2001 they really felt they had to fend off hostile takeovers?
I thought that it was 4 years. But truth be told, the best thing that could happen is to be bought out - poison pill or not. It's very clear that this is tougher than anyone thought it was going to be to go it alone.
Looks like MWL had his 15 minutes here. BTW - anyone who stood up for him when I said he was a clown, well....he's not the only one. This stock is seemingly in serious trouble, there's no room for BS.
Here's the problem the way I see it.
We're trending down lately and haven't been told to expect anything in the short term that might turn that around. There are certainly additional milestones to look foward to, but they are months away. In the mean time, it would seem that people are selling and that the company has been put into a defensive position yet again. It's extremely aggrevating, and we lose more shareholders every time we repeat this.
"Time in the markets, not timming the markets"
Yep, stuff like this should leave you maximum flexibility down the road.
What's the latest on funding? What does confuscious say?
Greg - if people are harassing the media and outlets, they are pretty silly and wasting their time. It seems fair to say though that if the company ever actually made good on "rolling thunder" then it wouldn't really matter. NV leaves a big fat void in terms of a media campaign and then complains when a bunch of fools try to fill it in.
Scott that probably came out the wrong way, it wan't meant to be a personal attack. I'm quite sure, in fact I know, that some people that profess to be die hard longs..blah blah...are trading this stock. It's a totally fair question to ask of anyone who posts something like you did. If you would like to argue over whether criticism on these boards actually affects the shareprice I'll be happy to. But I guarantee that you don't want to argue over whether selling does.
I have no idea what has made you believe so strongly in the company of late - but you have a tough road to hoe if you have ever been a large trader in this stock and now think you can tell people who haven't not to ctiticize management, who has done nothing for them after 3 or 4 years.
Hey Scott - have you traded this stock at any point? Sold? If so I think people should know that so they can give your post appropriate weight....
BTW - I haven't and I'll criticize management any time I see fit. How about some of you other folks weigh in on whose doing more damage...LMAO.
I have no problem with Brad, except that he is the latest person in a long line of people that have not been able to make me money. I'm here because he seems like a stand up guy and I hope he can change that.
EW - can you share what Ketch said in his conversation? I'd really like to know and you are one of the people that I feel would ask the same questions as I would. Thanks.
Poking my head in to read this board for a few minutes. The news about the fpga seems troubling, since the timelines for the asic were given from the completion of the fpga. It's yet another instance where the lack of funding has set us back - still think the company is doing you a favor by not taking any? Moreover , I feel like somewhere along the way a few months ago, the company very subtly turned the commitment from delivering an fpga prototype by the end of the year to delivering a prototype. The distinction was, of course, lost in the numbers which seem so positive.
I also think Jeff's points about Greaves, Propp, Chen etc. issuing some sort of statement/commitment are dead on.
Your worst case scenario is my best case scenario. This is a .50 stock right now, with no funding source identified. If we never got any further than we are right now we'd be worth......well 50 cents.
Wheels, unbelievable story.
Ray made good on something, I'm stunned. In case you're keeping count...
Ray's endevours that don't make the company money, 1 for 1
Ray's endevours that do........
I'm honestly laughing right now, does this mean I can take a charitable deduction on my shares...carry that baby over til the day I die?
I'm really looking for more these days than things that "can't hurt". Furthermore, I have trouble believing that the companies they claim to be in negotiations with like the idea of NV (a production co, lol) showing the film they are intersted in. It's much more likely that there really is very little interest, so perhaps NV has adopted the exact attitude you're endorsing which is that it can't hurt. Guess this is all just speculation, but I've woken up to a truly dismal shareprice lately, and I'm really sick and tired of this situation.
427 - I don't want to offend you or the person that requested the showing. That said, at this point this company has NO money. We all suspect that this is negatively affecting the development and deliverable timelines. You're telling me that this strikes you as a good time to do charity work? And why are these guys honoring requests, whether for meetings or this crap, from shareholders? Strikes me as a nice little ploy to keep morale up among the "god fearing" contigency while they try to figure out how, and when they will be able to deliver a decent shareprice to people that they have been promising it to for years. And people that are defending this are some of the same ones that were so sure the movie would be our big funding event. I expect garbage like this with Ray still involved, but it always amazes me when Cooper and Ketch ok it.
Is the ill-advised charity showing Ray's idea? Does the "charity" get 98% of the proceeds?
Panda, FWIW here is a post from MWL from earlier this month: My point is simply that people should take what is said with a grain of salt - clearly this person is not close enough to the process to say things as definitively as he likes to. It is nothing personal against him, but people here seem to like what he has to say - I can only assume it's because it's all positive speculation.

The numbers alone should trigger things.
The media should jump on things, providing QUINT can do their job. I know Quint has not followed up on some of the leads they had from Dodi and Jennifer. Not sure whats going on with QUINT. That should be mentioned to Brad Ketch. <hint>
With the Leaders in place and reputations at stake , I don't think 3rd party verification will be necessary.
Today's SEC guidelines are much more strict
MWL
So you're telling me that when the 2 companies have come forth, and have verified the numbers in the PR that there is a small fund that's going to buy? Who cares? Of course people will be interested at that point, might as well say "when the company has signed contracts".....
Ernie - perhaps its getting harder to find things to criticize?
Beats "donation".....
If Miler breaks even you'll be rich!
