I think we may be on the verge of seeing the biggest uptick the day before a conference call .... just my opinion but it looks like all buys this morning and this can push up quickly...
do I hear a close of $2.75 ?
I hope... : )
My guess is that any big time shorts can have as much as 10x as much stock on the long side and the game is to unload your shorts shares first because those holding them for too long will be the ones forcing this stock up above $10 pps but they will win either way. I still say as much as this stock is overly undervalued all longs will have their day as this stock will also become amazingly overvalued in a short period of time but in the long run we will run far. The trick is to know when to sell and buy back in after a 30-50% drop before we rise and become well known to all major BP's.
Our day is almost here : )
I wonder when Peregrine's PR department will officially declare this new patent..... I would think they were already notified before the patent was officially listed on the US patent website. Maybe they were holding this for the quarterly cc this Thursday?
We are destined to move back to the $4 dollar range on speculation alone of these trial results. We've now been listed on a couple different news articles about best of class low priced stocks and if Cramer just mentioned us once on the air I bet we'd be double our current value within a week.
Lets go Peregrine... lets go! Lets go Peregrine ... lets go!
All has been quiet on trial updates... and hoping for some positive results Thursday and jump start this puppy again.
We could wake up any day now to a $14 buy out : )
SEC doc's released this afternoon showing Culley and Keran each have options to buy at $ 3.26 until July 5th 2021.
I wonder why they were not able to lock up that price a month earlier but am glad that its locked up now because they officially have an incentive to partner or sell out to big pharma.
We could wake up any day now to a $14 buy out : )
$3.25 ..! This upward push clearly shows that we could see $6 very soon.
anyone holding off for this stock to hit $1 before buying back in? I think its going a little lower before we head back up.
I am hoping for a quick double up to $6 on this one by months end.... then the question to ask would be throw it back into PPHM or stay in ANX. Looking good here soo far!
'Continue to accumulate' ..... that's the key phrase because that's what I have been doing and as long as you are able to lower your average entry point.... good things are to come!
I am sure the FDA will be made aware of that fact.... and could only aid in Peregrines effort to move forward with further trials and hopeful early approvals.
I agree its going to be difficult without news... but I'm banking on the last 1 hour of big trades in hopes of getting ready for some significant news monday morning! Lets go PPHM ...
I hope we break 1.3M shares in volume by end of day... if we can get close we should be up another .15 cents
Avid to have big turn around in profits this quarter and here after it would seem after this news article!
Now lets flash forward to the big pharma looking into PPHM:
1) Avid in house processing related assets...
2) Cotara related assets.....
3) Bavi related assets.....
4) Imaging related assets...
... we have a good solid foundation here and I'm glad PPHM is not selling out the store early to the big pharmas....they have the potential to be one of the big boys in a short few years!
I hope the lid is not going to be kept on this stock.... now is where we need consistent news flow from Peregrine and I still believe that this stock is completely undervalued at this time and there will be the day when we have FDA approvals and we will be sitting on the other side of the fence where Peregrine will be completely overvalued. Those are the days I will enjoy : )
After seeing the Burzynski video... I will have to say I am glad to see Peregrine hiring anyone and everyone possible with a solid reputation in the Pharmaceutical field from regulators right down to safety.. which they most definately need since they are one of the few pharmaceuticals operate their own production facility in Avid.
I think they need to line everyone elses pockets before the shareholders.... but I just hope they are doing everything they need to in order to gain a clear path to phase III's and/or early FDA approval while in phase III's
I don't want to be in this position in 6 months though... they clearly have hired big time over the last 6 months - 1 year and its time to start the progression now.
sorry about that... the article came up on my fidelity account news cycle and when signed into fidelity the link works.... and I tried it after I signed out and it doesn't work.
Here is the upgrade info:

On June 10, 2011 Channel Trend Inc. upgraded PEREGRINE PHARMACEUTICALS INC. (PPHM) from NEUTRAL to FAVORABLE.
------------------------------------------------------------
An upgrade for Peregrine from Channel Trend ... but I'd like to see some kind of deal that can remove the going concern clause before next conference call.

I was holding my breath waiting for this moment just to see some indication that Peregrine will remain on the Russell!
Well atleast there will not be any forced selling of many of the funds... and the only positive indication that I can foresee is shares will be picked up by other parties ( possibly Dart..etc ) to increase their share position that will increase Institutional ownership... that will ultimately offer some additional stability to the stock price in the future. I'm still hoping for Institutional ownership of atleast 30% by the 4th quarter.
We're soo close to either making mucho money on this stock or giving it all back....
I will continue to average down and although I'm close to $4 just to break even.... I am hoping for the best
Your view is the glass is half empty.... and I have been in this stock for a long time and only view I see is the glass is half full ...especially with all the regulatory hires over this past year. No company brings on this type of regulatory staff until they are ready to position themselves for FDA talks. My other view is IF Peregrine took off years ago when I had 20% of the shares currently ... I would have profited ....but not nearly as much as I could potentially now.
Im holding for the longterm and still feel that this stock could surprise us all over the next couple of y
ears.
I agree that the end of day was more of a surprise to those the 123k shares...... they just may be wishing they held onto those shares in a few more news cycles : )
Peregrine has hired much talent away from other large BP's and ..
Peregrine has managed to increase the Institutional Investment from 2-3% to now over 20% with Darts purchase and ...
they managed to stay on the Russell hopefully 2 years straight !!
Institutional ownership will be up again this year ... hopefully to 30-40%
I agree with you Rdog ... I will be save that post to read on any down days for plum : )
I do remember that couple week period when we found out Peregrine was booted off the Russell..... although I didn't realize it had to deal with the 100 or 300 share sale that it involved and we can only hope that one of the new shareholders such as Dart find it in their interest to possibly purchase a large amount of shares in hopes of boosting this back up and not allowing others to push it down any further if in fact it is being purposely pushed down
I only "hope" we have some greater forces on our buying side : ) Lets go Dart.... : )
$88 after 3.... 2 for 1 splits? Now lets get back to reality and I can see $88 after a single 2 for 1 split : )
and thats no dream... these guys can easily approach this kind of momentum with success at all levels of trials this year.
It all starts with positive news at ASCO...! Get ready : )
Absolutely agree.... and big pharma partner will be coming. Don't mind the itty bitty share drops like today because we will soon be much much much higher
Since we are giving selling intentions... I will have to say 25% of my shares will be sold at $10 to repay 401k loans that were taken out to average down further last year...and a move that no financial adviser will approve! But my view is it was about 20% of my 401k and the risk is worth the potential return. I plan on holding for the much larger pay day with the rest or buy back if it drops thereafter...
Out at $5 a share? I certainly am hoping for much more from these trial results and eventually a much larger pay off.
The risk is worth the reward in my opinion and I see no reason we can't atleast duplicate DNDN's upward movement to 40 plus a share and lets hope for some more : )
I believe reading the stock purchase plan last year and it was some type of average of previous 6 months and then a reduced price? No matter what...... I'm glad to see some sort of buying from atleast one insider.
I certainly don't like that little drop today.... Its time for Ken Dart to up his stake and squeeze the hell out of any shorts lurking around this stock from here on out
Thanks for the insight regarding the options... I just know one of these months there will be lots of money to be made on PPHM but trying to guess/hope when the big rise in stock price occurs is pretty risky to buy a ton of options
I have never purchased options..... Im thinking PPHM will be my first attempt at them... Im assuming all purchased contracts are paid in full upfront? ....and from what I understand that is the only money you'd be out if your price is not covered?
At this point... I would gamble about $1000 for an option...anyone have a favorite site to re view options?
Round of applause for Peregrine... finally fighting back and hopefully new support level above 2.50 ! One thing that is shocking is that we didn't hit 700,000 shares and we're up this much today..... tells me that it was a few select groups/individuals doing this buying today which is fine. Lets keep it going.
Cheynew...
I disagree that Peregrine sold half of their ATM already.. unless I misunderstood what you posted. You mentioned they sold 1/2 ... ? For this quarter, my guess would be that they would sell at the most 5-8 Million worth of their 75 Million ATM.... and thats just to keep the available cash above 20 Million for the end of quarter results. I'm hoping they don't sell any at all in hopes of some non-dilutive cash infusion comes into play somewhere before quarters end!
If you are right about them selling half of the 75 Million... I can only hope its due to them taking this all the way thru phase III for multiple trials. I don't mind the dilution if they can make it thru phase III with positive results because the payday will be much bigger for everyone here!
Updated Website shows 2 new full time positions ...
1 Full Time position posted 4/17/2011 -- for a Research Associate, Research Materials Production within the Process Science department.
1 Full Time position posted 4/17/2011 -- for a Scientist, Sr. Scientist Analytical Biochemistry within the Process Science department.
Lets hope for some quality information/graphs..etc that will be added to the website this weekend.
thanks for the correction CJ. I would hope they can raise their target with some more good trial data and I just wished they waited to before they "maintained" their $5 price target. I'm not sure how they get paid but I wonder if they actually get a fee for that "maintain" price target and then approach Peregrine after another month or so and say we'd like to up our price target of you guys... but that requires another "fee"?
I also can't believe Stephen Dunn of LifeTech Capitcal has reduced his target price of Peregrine down to $5.
The "Institutional Research Team" for Lifetech Capital is noted as Stephen Dunn along with William D. Dawson... below is some info regarding our guy who says the new price target is $5.
(1) "Mr. Dunn was previously the Managing Director of Life Sciences Research at Jesup & Lamont, as well as Director of Research for Dawson James Securities and Director of Life Sciences at Cabot Adams venture capital group. He has also held management positions in Business Development, Finance and Operations having worked in over 25 countries in North America, Europe and the Far East with biomedical companies including Beckman Coulter, Coulter, Cordis (Johnson & Johnson), Telectronics (St. Jude Medical) as well as several smaller companies. With over 25 years within the global biomedical industry, Mr. Dunn has negotiated numerous intellectual property licenses, product development agreements, venture funding, M&A and joint ventures with companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, Pharmacia, Novartis, Bayer, Schering AG, Wyeth, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Genzyme, Martek Biosciences, Fisher Life Sciences, Becton Dickinson, Idec Pharmaceuticals, Ortho Diagnostics, DakoCytomation, Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories, the Mayo Clinic Foundation and the Dana-Farber Institute along with dozens of smaller public and private companies throughout the world.
Mr. Dunn is a 5-star biotechnology analyst on StarMine and has appeared in both the financial and scientific media such as The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Newsweek, Forbes, Nightly Business Report, Nature Biotechnology, The Scientist, BioWorld and many other media outlets. He is also a frequent speaker and panel member for many financial, medical and venture capital events."
....
Interestingly enough.... I find this article about Lifetech Capital and will take the last few paragraphs that states:
(2) "LifeTech currently has six employees and does not plan to grow into the hundreds, Keyser said. The bank’s goal is to underwrite about one deal a month in the range of $5 million to $25 million, he noted.
Most of LifeTech’s revenue will come from fees it collects for underwriting deals (either from cash or equity), but a small portion will come from brokerage services for wealthy individuals, Keyser said. “The idea is quality over quantity.”
LifeTech wants to target promising companies in the early stages of development that can go public or be bought out within a year, Dunn said. The goal is to build LifeTech’s reputation with investors by only underwriting deals for companies that have been thoroughly vetted."
........................
For now...its something to keep an eye on and will continue to compare other target prices Stephen Dunn has given and deals that have been made thereafter with any of them because its something to think about. The key statement is "target promising companies in the early stages of development that can go public or be bought out within a year" .. Dunn's exact quotes, though I don't think the shareholders best interest is in the hands of Stephen Dunn who possibly is more so looking to unload Peregrine into the hands of some larger pharmaceutical he has been in discussions with.... stay tuned...

Umass.... I think you should have planned this announcement any other day but Aprils Fools Day.. : )
Hi Mojojojo...
I have to disagree... of course this site is ahead of all other boards and yes, even the smart money people on wall street. For example...
when DART bought and BlackRock bought into PPHM... this board had it posted within the same day. No, we didn't receive any news from pphm or smart money people on wall street? lol We heard it first from this board : )
You have to remember.... shareholders of any company simply want to know as much news as soon as possible and for this stock it happens to happen right in front of our eyes on this board!
IF you believe smart money wall street is faster at getting us the news... I'd like to know who in your circle is best at getting the latest news on Peregrine?
Cjgaddy ... the drinks are on me! : ) I think I speak for all longs in that we appreciate what you do on this board, especially in the assistance of correcting wrong information that makes it way on the board.
its certainly time to buy, the more I look into this stock and try to compare it to some other biopharmaceutical stocks I have to say IF things all go as planned we will hit over $100 a share easily.
Has anyone checked out Vertex (VRTX) and their pipeline ? I mean they have about 204 Million shares outstanding and valued at just under 10 Billion ... for a stock price of about $48 at this point.
I just have to say.. in my opinion... when some good data is released we will be seeing this stock rise from these levels to $20 a share easily.
Do you all agree?
