NFLX Very expensive on both sides puts and calls. Everything looks like a trap to me this morning..... I don't trust any of them. Feel like I was castrated over the week-end. Maybe just due to the week layoff and inlaws still here today. Smart's TSla trade looked good but even on the second chance to get in it I just had no confidence to pull the trigger. Might just watch today. I can't afford a mistake.

You had it read Thur for sure. Jumped on those 3 put trades right out of the gate. I knew I was screwed when I saw you on TSLA puts but figured it might make enough of a move up to make me a few bucks before turning over. You could have ridden that down all day. I need to slow down and pay attention. Apparently my charting skills are marginal. Just enough to get lucky now and then but not working. I'm slowly backing up. I got called in to an office today and had no chance to even check in till about 430. I have to fill in there all next week. At least I'll make some money. Could only watch today and will be working every day next week.I'll watch when I can and paper trade for more practice. Yep I could see TSLA likely to continue down but couldn't get myself to buy the puts after being on the wrong side earlier and taking that beating.
Yes beginning to think I don't know jack %#@& about chart reading. LOL Actually I think the real problem is not wanting to be wrong or trying to find something in the chart to reinforce my wrong decision. I got too impatient Thur also. I had thought I would stay out at the open cause I have had no luck reading the early direction. I don't know how Smart,Roy etc can pic it even before trading starts....and again thanks for your input.

Thanks for the message, feeling the same way just my story is on a smaller scale. With the success you already have...I wouldn't bother much with this on a daily basis. Problem is when you win it's too much fun. Maybe develop more of a swing strategy vs day trading. Buy ideas you feel comfortable holding for a few days or weeks. This current market beat down should present a lot of potential swing ideas. I'm forced to churn what little I have to work with.Don't have the luxury of waiting for something to move.

I know nothing about currency trading. That could be a disaster. Maybe I can study it a bit but I have never tried to learn about it. Have you been successful in that?

250 K LOL I only need to make a couple hundred a day to be fine. That isn't an outrageous goal really. It's impossible with a couple of trades a day in a cash account or 3 round trips a week in a margin account. With the freedom to trade as needed I think I would have a better shot. Couldn't buy 500 shares of TSLA or something crazy but I like options for that kind of stuff anyway. If I had 250k I wouldn't have a problem. BTW I'm am open to sponsors LOL. Anyway is fun to hang out and see how it's done here on SSS. I have learned a lot.

TSLA I said it would go to 205 but looks like it isn't going to stop there. 203.50 and then it looks like bombs away to maybe 190 in a couple of days. Hey but I can buy some puts and it will rocket to 220 again. can't win...

Yep it is hard. Not trying to make 1000 baggers but I sure wish I had > 25k so at least I could be more nimble in this crazy market. When YAK was around he turned me on to a prop trading firm that I was with for awhile but I wound up in a full time job and couldn't trade anymore. I don't think they exist now...Coastal Trading? I think it was.

When Bob pays up this year he will single handedly balance the budget. He just kills it most every day. Dude is amazing IMO

EDIT was in EESO$ a few years ago. Thankfully I started selling a few shares as soon as I got back in the money. As it continued to run I sold 1/3 when it dipped one day just to be sure to make some profit. Traded around a core position but should have been in and out much much more. Made @ 12k before it was found out to be a huge scam. Could have been $50 k if I had not been such a believer in the company.

Lesson to tattoo somewhere on yourself...if you ever get up that good on a pink, sell enough to get a free ride and some profit out. Greed kills in pinks always always always!

If I can pull out of this death spiral I may try that. Checked it out and figure I would be @ $700 better off already this year. Maybe even more. Cheaper in and out makes it easier to dump the trade too. Don't know how much that would have saved. Got to have $500 to fund it and then get familiar with new trading platform. I thank you for the idea and your help. At this point and I hate to use the analogy but I'm like a poker player with a very short stack. Just getting in and out of trades with a small loss is quickly eating my stack. My problem isn't so much how I am trading but that I am so wrong so consistently. I amazes me really and at the same time depresses me. It really may be too late as I am down to a few hundred bucks. Just to cover the spread and the commission I need 15% or so. Only enough for maybe one trade/day in the cash account and I saved up the 3 in my margin account for today. Being wrong is my problem. TSLA puts like Roy was in, I had money for 2 at say $1.50 this morning ,now are now over $4. If I could be right just once I would have some breathing room.

Understand but I don't buy anything I plan to hold more that a couple of hours so my "long term " is maybe the 15 minute chart. I watch the one but look to 3 and 5 for conformation. What I need to look at is a job app for the 7/11 cause I suck at this.

Hold on folks. Another stock that has the same problem just started trading again today on Grey. It is lower but is trading for about 65% of it's price on the last day. It all depends on what comes out of the SEC investigation. If PHOT is not a blatant fraud or serious legal issues are uncovered it may be wounded but far from dead. Can't do any thing about it at this point except watch and wait. Hopefully management will provide some info. I'm not in this one but have watched it for awhile. Good luck to you. I see what you are talking about on the one minute. When the MACD crossed on the 3 min I thought we were good. So much for my analysis. I kind of had 212.50 as a must hold level but Roy is almost never wrong. I am always wrong. I was hoping maybe he had been in it for 5 or 10 minutes and might be flipping out pretty quick. Should have just got the hell out when I saw his trade. Look at it now...
