For what? What assets did we acquire for roughly $7M worth of debt? I know you can't answer that question, but it sure would be nice to know where all that money went. I'm sure there will be some posters who will chime in on that question, lol.
I just hope we win the case, settle debts (which includes paying divies), become transparent, reduce the OS and get rich (i.e., shareholders). Not necessarily in that order.
Where did you come up with that figure?
Remember, just because shares are repurchased that does not necessarily mean that they are 'retired'. That is, those shares could be resold at any time. Rally could ask the TA how many shares are held by the company, but I'm not sure they will give out that information. In fact, I'm not sure they have that information, or if they do, whether it is readily available. I'm sure there are people with more knowledge than I who can address these questions.
Finally, we can be told anything, but w/out transparency, who knows what the facts really are.
I hope for the best.
What PR? Did I miss a recent PR?
1. They are cheap.
2. Less shares = greater volatility. If there is a run, it runs higher.
3. Makes company more attractive.
IMHO, the AS/OS should be brought under a billion shares, well under a billion shares. As we don't know about the debts, revenues, earnings, etc. of the company, it's hard to say what a 'reasonable' share count is. Obviously, the lower the better.
JMHO and GLTA
My understanding, FWIW, is that PBLS would like to buy up most of the shares that are outstanding. The reasons being that they would thus reap the benefit of an increased share price and not have to deal with pesky, pain-in-the-ass shareholders. I'd love to see that occur. Who wouldn't want the AS/OS be drastically reduced (via open market purchases and not a RS) and the share price rise? Time will tell. And yes, their ability to buy up massive amounts of shares is dependent on the outcome of the trial(s).
GLTA
My understanding is that they have purchased some shares recently (around 100M). It is also my understanding that they would like to purchase a lot more when, or if, funds become available. However, time will tell; many other plans have failed to reach fruition. Also, repurchased shares should be retired and the AS adjusted accordingly.
I'm not trying to bash management. But given the past history, the market views PBLS very skeptically. That's why there was no movement when the KOMEX PR's occurred. Maybe with another company (one with a different history regarding transparency), there would have been a run before the truth came out. With PBLS, there wasn't even a run.
I'd love for PBLS to have a run AND also do what is necessary to gain the market's trust in the long-run: transparency and verifiable actions and results.
GLTA
I hope any undisclosed plans to turn this thing around are not dependent on the price of a barrel of oil! I'd love for this to turn around (and w/out a RS), but I don't see it happening 'soon'. Not with 2.5B shares floating around.
Even if we get a settlement of $10 - $20M, how much will be left after settling debt and lawsuits? If we do get a settlement, I'm sure there will be plenty of parties filing suit against PBLS in an attempt to get some of that lawsuit money.
Finally, what about profits and future earnings? Given the price of oil and the economy, I'm not sure pools, construction and oil-related services are a great play. Even if they are, will they bring in enough given 2.5B shares? Of course, w/out audited financials, who knows anything about cash-flow, revenue, profits, etc. And given past history, the company hasn't really earned the benefit of the doubt (how's that for an understatement?).
Anyone have any rosier, and realistic, scenarios?
GLTA
PS... This is a much better play for new money than it is for those holding old shares. But holding old shares makes more sense than selling at these prices.
Wasn't there talk about PBLS being involved in a process to drill for 'recoverable' gas that made sense when oil prices were high? Obviously, at $50/barrel, many projects would not be economically feasible. I don't see gas prices rising dramatically w/in the next year or so given decreased demand.
PS.. Where are all of the politicians (and others) who screamed about the evil speculators running up the price of oil? I don't see them screaming about the evil speculators running down the price of oil ;)
Each individual must determine if it's worth the gamble given their particular circumstances. Me personally, I'm looking under my couch cushions for some spare change that I might throw PBLS's way ;)
I'm loathe to counsel anyone regarding personal investment decisions. So, I'll just say: "Don't invest any money in a high-risk venture (e.g., PBLS or 99.99% of all pinkies) that you can't afford to lose."
For those who can afford to lose some more money, the potential for reward is high. However, what is the probability for that potential outcome to occur?
GLTA!!!!!
Well, what options are there? For those who have an average cost much greater than .0003 it doesn't make much sense to sell at these prices. For those who haven't yet got in yet, it only takes $2,000 to get 10M shares at .0002 If it goes belly up, you've lost $2,000. If it somehow manages to crawl back up to a penny in a year or so, you've got $100K. Not much risk (lose it all, but 'all' is just $2k) with lots of potential reward.
I wouldn't be surprised to see this get bashed like crazy before the trial starts as some people will be trying to get cheap shares given the risk/reward equation.
GLTA
PS... Anyone want to lend me $2,000? I promise I'll pay it back 'soon'!
Yes, that's the spirit... stranger things have happened...
GLTA
One can hope... I know that I hope it gets pumped hard enough and long enough (geez, sounds like a porn movie) so that I can sell and get out with a smile on my face ;)
No, No, NO, it will be released 'soon' ;)
I hope like heck they are buying the shares... and will announce said shares have been returned to the treasury when they also announce a new OS of 800M when they put out the great news that brings us to the promised land! Of course, today the promised land is a penny, whereas a few years ago it was $1+ ;)
I'm not disagreeing with you, I just want them to make more in a fashion so that we can make some. What other choice do I/we have?
I don't know how PBLS management will do it, with oil prices depressed (if 'oil' was going to be our savior), 2.5B shares, lawsuits from here to eternity, but I hope they do. I hope PA and RB make millions... as long as that occurs in a fashion so that common-shareholders can sell their shares (non-diluted by RS) and also reap a reward.
GLTA (Too low to sell, might as well hold and hope.)
LOL.... yes, how many pinkies claim to be able to ramp and scale and synergize and make millions based upon their incredible business acumen and management abilities. Too Many! How Many Succeed? Too FEW!
PS.. Don't worry, everything will be okay 'soon'! 'Soon' you'll be able to cash out and thus you won't have to worry about tax code changes.
I have heard of this. My understanding (which could be incorrect) is that the gov't would keep whatever monies were in the account when you die, as opposed to those funds going to your heirs.
I did not hear the following, but my guess is that it would probably come to pass: If you are 'too wealthy', you won't get any of the money anyway. It will be re-distributed to spread the wealth." Those who save and invest are penalized while those who spend, squander, etc., are rewarded.
Sure, until they need some more! ;)
I can't keep track of all these suits... how much are we asking for?
All will be forgiven if we hit .05 - .10 w/ enough volume so that we can all cash out ;)
Maybe I was not very clear, you misinterpreted what I wrote or both.
LOL.... but no one forced us to invest in PBLS ;)
PBLS... Please turn it around pronto... so we might be able to keep some of our 'wealth' before Obama gets his hands on it and starts 'spreading it around'. The gov't will gladly take it from us if we are successful, but I don't see them coming around to 'bail us out' when our investments tank. We take the risk, but share the reward if our investments succeed. However, when our investments fail, we don't get to 'spread around our losses'! There should be incentives for taking risk, creating wealth, creating jobs, not dis-incentives. The dis-incentives should be for sitting on your ass waiting for the gov't to 'share the wealth' that they've taken from someone who created it!
Can someone give me a quick update. Are we the defendant in any new suits? Have we lost any suits in the past week or so? Any news, good or bad?
TIA and GLTA
Gee, no one's talking about .0004
If our long-term hopes are tied to high commodity prices (e.g., oil) we may be waiting a long time. Will we soon be hearing 'not until 2010'....
Please, no more discussions of RS....or even typing the dreaded letters! Thank you ;)
GLTA
PS... Hey, life could be worse for many of you, you could be a Cowboys's fan! I am one, and I have no idea who's going to turn it around first... PBLS or the Cowboys... or if either one will ever turn it around :(
Only until trading starts.... then it hits triple zero's again!
Great... one more thing to worry about!!!!!!
You betcha!
BTW, I'm not being 'negative', I just figure sometimes it's better to laugh than cry~
GLTA, especially the longs!
$2K gets you 5M at .0004
What a steal! The question is, who's doing the stealing and who gets robbed!
Holding and hoping..... and praying like crazy!
Re: World's Greatest Holes
How about the hole in the wallet of PBLS investors?? ;)
One would think that they could 'find' someone (e.g., bring in a new 'insider') to buy up shares on the open market as if it runs on good news, it will run a heck of a lot higher if there are not 2.5B shares that people will want to dump.
Yup, we are still at the top of the organizational chart. However, it gives one pause when the largest division/part of the chart is for the legal department! Then again, isn't the Legal department the division which is supposed to make us the big bucks? ;)
Actually, I don't care which part of the company makes us money, as long as we (as in non-insider, common shareholders) actually make some money....
What order did we want vacated? Must not have been much of an issue if defendant's counsel didn't oppose.
