eb0783, PPHM might be astronomical in minimum 6 years. A drug needs to be approved first. Our 2nd line nsclc in 4 years. After that it can be used off label for other cancers while it is being tested for them. Once the result of the other indications comes in then the drug is approved specifically for other indications. Keep in mind that while all of this is happening our multi billion dollar Bp freinds are not just sitting around cheering for us. They will try every play in the game book to stop us and they have the money and influence to do it.
Bottom line, we have a "new class of drug" that can instruct the immune system to fight all the solid tumor cancers. It is proving itself in multiple indications. The choices are to either file for any path to fast approvals, partner with a company that has the resources to speed up the process of getting it approved in many indications or decide to go it alone in one indication for many years and take all the profit that goes with it. The risk of the last choice is that all of the BPs are not sitting around waiting to see if our immunotherapy works. They have their own scientists and their new science (ie gene therapy). Another tool that they have is the relationship with FDA, lobbyists, all the sites and the investigators. They can buy them to work on their studies rather than ours. Little PPHM is swimming with the sharks and I just hope that they realize that.
dia, I am not putting anybody down whether Dr. Garnik or PPHM executives. In a nut shell PPHM has the choice of ignoring potential partners, AA, BTD, etc and go it alone and try to succeed in the long run with the chance of being beaten by another big BP with new science (new immunotherapy drugs or gene therapy)or partner up and use the resources to move Bavi in many fronts. In my opinion focusing on Bavi for one indication as a result of low funding means getting bugged down for years and the way the science moves now a days that can be the begining of the end for a company.
PGG based on the questions that I asked today and the answers that I got, I feel that they are going to start this on their own and see how far they can get. They know that they have the science and enough money to last them a year. What happens next is anybody's guess. So prepare for the worst (long haul without a partner) and wish for the best (partner, with enough cash and descent increase in stocks for the short term to enjoy spending some of it :)and finally approval with the help of this partner and big time celebration
dia, I worked for Genentech for 9 years. The reason that Genectech got to where it got was because of the Roche's backing. genentech was on the verge of bankruptsy when Roche came in and save it resulting in the approval of TPA for heart attach. Roche believed in Genentech's scientists so it left them alone to do what they did best and that was innovate cure for diseases.
Dia, garnik told me BTD, AA, etc does not mean anything. To me it means that lets just do the phase III study without them and partners and that is if some posters are correct about him opting for going it alone. To me that means that lets take 4 to 5 years to get the drug in the market. In 4 or five years we can have a company that fixes the cancer dna at the gene level which makes all the cancer drugs useless. We are not the only company with the great science. May be currently the only great company with great science and no money. You cannot fight the big boys because the current system is not set up for it. They bleed you to death.
my recommendation: Enjoy the upbeat posts of Dia, Cp and biopharm. Learn the science and the art of detective work and analyzing and mystifying things from them but do not expect to get rich in the near future from the PPHM stock. The way it is going it will be a long time before the drug is approved for anything. And for some reason if it happens sooner, it will be a very nice and unexpected surprise. I am not going to let the posters on this board to put me through an emotional roller coaster anymore.
MazelMan, I have heard this general and generic statement for years now. It used to be we are "aggressively" looking for partners.
Went to the ASM... Again
Last year we had salmon for breakfast. This year we didn't have salmon or even fruit juice. I was really looking forward to some salmon on my way there.
Asked Dr Garnik before the meeting if we were applying for BTD. His answer blew me away. He said that BTD doesn't mean anything and that it will not speed things up. He said that FDA is a bureauracy and they take their time and just feeding them more data as time goes by is the best route. I didn't feel any enthusiasm in his words.
Asked johnson what is the status of getting to the bottom of dose switching. Him and steve basically said that they have explained everything to the FDA and that FDA is looking into it. Basically he said that it is out of our hands but we will try to get to the bottom of it.
Asked again if we are going to apply for BTD if not to speed up things (based on what garnik told me earlier) to give us recognition and steve said that they are looking into all options for recognition which includes applying for BTD
Asked them why can't we enroll 12 patients in the imaging study and whether we can give patient monetary incentives and steve said that patient icentives are a no no and that they are trying their best to enroll and that they are learning from what they have seen in the first three patients. Basically a none answer.
Asked why doesn't our name exist in any of the articles as far as immunotherapy and bavi goes and was told that your science needs to be peer reviewed before it can end up in the articles and that the recent I believe AACR peer review is going to get things going.
Asked if they have thoughts of giving away something like Bavi for viruses or imaging in order to get some cash to focus on Oncology and steve said that they are open to the idea.
With regards to the partnering, steve said that it is a long process and it is not a one meeting and close the deal thing. He said that companies take the data and take their time looking at it and do their own DD and come back later with more questions or they wait to see if their own drug works first
My take is the following
They have not applied for BTD or for some reason they are trying hard to hide it
After going through all that they have and finding out more about the potentials of Bavi they are not in a rush to partner unless they get their terms
Expect the company to attend a lot of conferences and try to put the word out
Somehow I kept hearing when the lawsuit is over in the side convesations that I heard. May be they cannot say much until end of november
I think they are really trying to make it work and felt that the event of the last september really hurt their feeling just like it hurt ours.
I hope that garnik was just having a bad day or frustrated from the FDA and not in it for the oder side. This could very well only be me and the wibes that I got.
I got the sense that the IR jockers (I forgot their names) are very rude
Well if something else comes to my mind I will post. I am going to go buy my own salmon
Krakonos, that is a very creative approach to get PPHM's name out there. Taxi drivers and prostitutes run into a lot of people. Great thinking outside of the box man :)
Krakonos, could you please tell your barber to open a shop in wall street for a while. Since PPHM is not spreading the word may be your barber can do the job. Tell him all of us will give him a couple of shares if he does a good job.
No approval or No partnership means No change in SP
Krakonos, I meant all the talk is about BPs immunotherapy drugs and not PPHM's. In all the immunotherapy articles you see the name of a few big BPs but you never see the name of PPHM mentioned. Eventually they will recognize PPHM but we want that to be now and not in a couple of years.
CP aren't they suppose to have been working on partnership and contracts for the last few years. You would assume they would have come up with a good rough draft to build on by now (ie the abbve contract from last year). Bottom line nothing about this company is clear and we all go by assumptions on this board. And our assumptions are good or bad depending on what kind of a day we are having :)
Krakonos, I hope a lot of people can get motivated to get up that early in the morning to make the 7 am presentation. I just say this because our name is not out there yet with regards to immunotherapy breakthroughs. All the talk is about the big BPs.
Krakonos, the question is how many people attend a presentation 7 in the morning with a jet lag and knowing how long the day is going to be.
Biopharm, in a nut shell, in order for stock to go up PPHM needs to have an approved drug or the backing of a big company with a lot of money. Until then we can talk about all these events, PRs and our great drug day in and day out with the share price ignoring all our wishfull thinkings everyday.
yeah, now we can do CPs week0, day0 etc..... with all kinds of commercials around us. lol
CP are you saying that we should all now look forward to March 31 of 2014 and start our assumptions and countdown for it ? This seems to be getting little old. Don't you think so ?
ws guy the Bavi in combo with other immunotherapies haven't even entered the human clinical trials so how can they recieve a BTD for it ?
Biopharm, regarding BOD wanting too much money, I used the word "currently" and that is based on the position that PPHM is in at this point in time. We are short of money for our phase III and have to use ATM all the time, Doing Phase III alone is going to take years while everyone of the BPs is doing reasearch on the magic drug of their own. Doing it alone also means navigating the study through a field of sharks at each corner. Sharks being the BPs, CROs, their bribers and their lobbyists. And the saddest part is that we don't have enough money to do many studies for many many many indications like we should be doing now for the good of patients and us long time shareholders.
Biopharm, I relly appreciate the effort may be you should send this theory and all the information that you collect about it to FDA, FBI, SEC. congress. But again if there are big forces like some of these agencies behind BPs to let them do what they want to do, the little PPHM cannot do much about it. A while back I mentioned that BPs are trying to bleed PPHM to submission or death. I am adding to that, that the BOD currently wants too much for the science (ie double digit billions) and the BPs are holding off and enjoying this thing draging on for a long time. At The end which easily be a couple of years one BP will finish the ordeal with a hostile takeover. Feel sorry for the cancer patients. It is a greedy world whichever way you look at it.
biopharm, what does your post have to do with current state of PPHM ?
EBS I thought the deadline for abstracts was 27th. If they can announce the abstract at any time during the congress and they are holding the info, it means something big which I really doubt. I think their booth is like any booth lets say in a fair which is to sell something and PPHM booth is to sell Phase III. Lets hope I am wrong.
EBS, we were all expecting a last minute abstract on Friday and it did not happen and that is why I said that they are going there to recruit for the phase III study and may be talk to some people from European regulatory agancies. It is very hard to predict anything with PPHM.
PPHM is at ECCO just to recruit investigators for the phase III study in europe and may be talk to some european regulatory agency people for their OK to perform the study there. Nothing more. IMO
corporalagarn, That's very funny:) eom
Hi CP, off the subject you keep putting down the "concierge". Do you guys have something against the "concierge" in your neck of the wood. Just curious.
Eyebuystox, thanks I respect your post. Lets hope something good comes out of the conference.
corporalagarn, A Very Well Written Post. Good to know that there are some realistic people on this board.
Eyebuy, could you please explain "how things are going to become fun FINALLY" based on what you said before it. It is a conference like any other conference that we have been attending. Unless I am missing something.
Good morning dia, we both want the same thing so lets just hope we have the right people to make it happen
dia, ok then happy cheerleadering tomorrow
dia HaHa enjoy the stock price tomorrow
dia, assumptions are assumptions good or bad. There are too many assumptions here because of the lack of communication and transparency by this company.
biopharm, the point was that they haven't even started the phase III. Your response is an assumption that becoming more efficient in manufacturing means immediate approval. Too many assumptions on this board that has not panned out.
dia, sadly all we seem to be doing here is to make assumptions and come up with new dates to look forward to and most of the time we are wrong because we are kept in the dark so we come up with another date to look forward to. Let me announce the next one : Avid presentations with share price still staying the same afterwards.
Robert, they probably will not tell us anything but hopefully they realize that we exist and that we are not happy. In the share holder meetings they even give a very small time limit to questions and they tell you that you can ask more questions on a one on one basis after the meeting over bagel and samon (best part of the meeting sadly). They feel uncomfortable answering questions during the meeting while everybody is listening. we need more transparency in order to get respect of the investment community. Look at our drug and the share price.
I like them to tell me
1) the status of CSM investigation
2) Clearly tell me about the interim look and not vaguely and by forced questions
3) Tell me if they have filed for BTD
4) Tell me what happened to the 14 breast cancer patients
5) Tell me what happened to the liver cancer that SK was talking about in 8 or 9 different presentations.
6) Tell me that they are hiring all these people that are suppose to be good and get a lot of options to work on phase III
7) Tell me the status of viral diseases such as hep c and sll the studies that the government is working on
and finally I don't appreciate hearing that they are working with Roche on imaging studies 2 years after the fact
Loof, if we all say yes based on assumptions and cheerleaders posts then they will keep doing what they have been doing for years which is keeping us in the dark for another year. At the end they will get thir votes as ususal but a drastic number of NOs might open their eyes. I always read the cheerleaders posts and sing and dance to it then I check the stock price of the company with it's wonder drug and that makes me come back to reality. Couple of shots always brings out the optimist in me but Share price changes that. My 200k shares are still "NO" unless something drastic happens by the end of this month. Lets send a message to the BOD with no MD on it :)
