I don't know if it holds true today or not but back in the day those Pink tomatoes were really green---they would pick green tomatoes out the fields take them to the warehouse and gas them, the gas would turn them pink----sometimes when time was for was an important factor for shipment they would set the tractor/trailer up to gas them while being transported to the distributor......Jus a tad bit of tomato knowledge
Yo Steve----I had to share this one with my folks on fb....it is not just reading it, the thinking about it that catches......thanks
I have pics of the deer, every evening they are in the back yard, nothing on either side of my property & across the road other than woods, woods and more woods. Sometimes they are right up at the back deck. fun to watch them, the little ones play just like a couple puppies .......Blessings we don't have to pay for
I thank ya.....They trying to raise money, I tied raising about 20 tomato plants, they were really nice, then I thought tomorrow I will go out and get some of them really nice tomatoes ----that night the deer ate even last one....story always reminds me of Raj/Joe&Co.....lol
over the years I have heard and some from the company that they were drilling for oil, then they bought 2 oil drilling rigs, then they were into wind turbines, then in to housing manufacturing, then gas and then uranium , and I am sure I heard more, but there has been just so much my tiny little brain can't remember all the stuff I have heard or all the stuff they said they were into.
Now don't get me wrong, I would be bouncing off the wall if they did something---anything---but I'll not hold my breath----IMO---Raj/Joe&Co is just Raj/Joe&Co.....they don't have repair work to do, they have major re-construction.....But I am happy that we are still posting from time to time, let the show go on
Been in the New Year’s cheer I see, but here is wishing you a great & joyous 2019
My sister-n-law wrote a short story concerning my brother's battle with cancer, much was taken from his notes that he had kept through his ordeal---anyway, shortly before his death he wrote---"Why does God allow suffering"
His thoughts:
To get our attention---To develop righteousness and maturity in life--John 15 and 1&2 Timothy-prune our life's power to produce more fruit----to teach obedience---to teach us to trust Him---to bring continuity--To manifest Christ's life and character in us---to teach us to give thanks in everything----to prevent pride in our lives & broaden the ministry---so that we can share in the holiness of Christ---Teaches character and perseverance---reveals the evil nature of mankind---God allows sharing in the fellowship of His suffering
These words were from a man shortly before cancer took him away, HUMMM !!! just maybe rather than feel sorry for ourselves we should think on the Spiritual side, jus maybe it ain't Why Me, maybe it should be Why Not Me-----
There is a song----Look ever to Jesus He will carry you through-----sometimes it is very hard not to focus on the "ME"----
God Bless
Right back at ya, hope your Christmas is a merry one and hope the new year brings you nothing but good days
Some years ago a lady at my church gave this to me at Thanksgiving time, she thought it might come in handy in some presentations...It came (I think from Richmond paper) and was written by Ken Metz....anyway I thought with all the negative junk going around that maybe this could just maybe make us think a little------"Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays are a time of thanks indeed. But sometimes we complain despite all the blessings that are laid before us. Here is a little tidbit the exemplifies what our daily complaints really mean to us:
I am thankful for the mess to clean up after a party----it means I have been surrounded by family and friends.
The taxes I pay---it means I am employed.
The cloths that fit a little to tight--- it means I have enough to eat.
My shadow who watches me work---it means I am out in the sunshine
The spot I find at the far end of the parking lot---it means I am capable of walking
All the complaining I hear about our government---it means we have freedom of speech
The lady behind me in church that sings off key---it means I can hear
The piles of dirty laundry and ironing---it means my loved ones are nearby
Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day---it means I have been productive
A lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutter that need fixing---it means I have a home
My huge heating bill---it means I am warm
The alarm that goes off in the early morning hours---it means I am alive"
I sort of think he nailed it down pretty good, to me it is all in the attitude---how we choose to look at things-----now I will go practice on these some---God Bless
Sure is quite in here-----I'm gettin scared....What's dat noise?
G'Morn'g Rick.......In your post you said---"Whats keeping me from being what God wants me to be." Which got me to think how many times I have heard this and how many times I have heard folks say--"I have no idea what God wants me to be, How do I know?" Now suppose I or another fall into the last part of this, What does God want from me? Any of you ever think of this? Maybe sometimes folks try to complicate things tooooo much-----NOT YOU, Rick, LOL, I talking about those who question----I'll go by Scripture, Love God and Love your neighbor-----if we learn to do this everything else will fall into place. God does not call everyone to be another Moses or David or Gideon or one of the Bible heroes. I suppose a good starting place is to jus take a second of one's time and ask Jesus into your heart, then ask for help in loving God and our neighbors. Hey, learning to be kind, helpful, considerate, polite, humble and so forth is not an easy task and I dare say not a task to be taken on by one's own self. Sometime we just have to slow down a bit and smell the roses, see the positive and ignore the negative, learn to count the blessings we have.
What does God want me to be???? IDUNNO! Maybe just to be a good person.....if we really stop & think, this is a big order to fill and one that if successful could go a long way to change the world as we know it------Just look at what 11 faithful followers of Jesus did for the world----jus say'n
God Bless and have a great weekend-----If you go out and about today a really good time to start getting into practice of being a better person------every day I ask God to make me a better person today than I was yesterday--------talk about a big order to fill
DITTO----wonder if Raj/Joe&Co can come up with the stamp money to wish their investors a Joyous Holiday season-----probably not, nothing yet for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, but postage keeps going up......
good lesson & thoughts for the day
I think you or someone post sometime back concerning forgiving , when we do not forgive someone the only person we are hurting is ourselves...........something there to think on today
I suppose many of you have heard this before.....but for that 1 who has not or that one, like me, who don't remember much--------There was a little boy who after Sunday school told his mom that he knew God's 1st name....his mom played along asking him what God's 1st name was and the boy said ---"Andy". Well his mom being a bit confused ask how he knew this, the little boy said because in Sunday school they sang------And-he walks with me And-he talks with, And-he tells me I am His own.......Nice to know God on a 1st name basis-------then tell that would not bring a big ole smile on God's face, sorry Andy"s face
"Morn' ole man------enjoy your day
I have never gone through what you are speaking,,,,but, but, but for sometime have been thinking about
canceling also.....I'll not go into my thinking here, but a lot here I disapprove of, but then again that's jus me----ask and it will be given, seek & you will find, knock and it will be open
Our youngest son has been living with a woman for several years now, reckon close to 15-20, anyway my bride & I have both told him that he may not have gone through the marriage ceremony but as far as we are concerned he is married in the eyes of God.....We love & accept Val as a daughter-n-law....being real technical here, is it wrong? IDUNNO----they are committed to each other, they both share in the Christian faith. Some say OH NO!!!!! bad, bad, bad,----I accept & love them as they are, I'll not judge.....but the question does arise----if 2 people come together before God and accept each other and live together....are the ethnically husband & wife----Like I said---IDUNNO, I think or wonder if God looks it that way...The big expensive weddings, all the showers & partys are not Scripture founded....Great subject, though....OH any may disapprove of my thinking, my mom & dad being the Old type Methodist----I think it was Wesleyan Methodist----just shook their heads at me, but still loved me....lol---and that is a real job at times.
Speaking of good subjects.....in 1st Corint. we learn of the sexual immorality in the church-----5:5 deliver such a one to satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus----in order to get a grip on this we need to understand the people involved & they sexual immorality involved, which requires one to read what Paul was writing. Yet this does raise excellent questions for Bible Study.....ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED????? Some say noway, some say certainly. I'll not say for certain one way or the other, Jesus said clearly that what God put in His hands, no one can ever take away. A lot of Scripture to support thinking on either side of the discussion....Should I continue , most likely I would bore some to no end, some would get their blood pressure off the chart and probably tar & feathers could be in question and then maybe some may think it a good idea to send my flesh off to satan so my spirit may be saved......Like I said IDUNNO, but when I taught or spoke I passed on what I truly believe from way down deep inside-----if a person seeks the answer in Scripture, I mean really looks for the answer and cross reference Scripture, talks with God and prays for the answer, in God's time He will allow the Holy Spirit to visit you with the answer to your concerns and when the Holy Spirit teaches you, then that is what it is, nut's more---nutt'n less.....we are different folks, different personalities & we make up different parts of the body of Christ, so maybe different thinking is just another piece of the puzzle of the mysteries of God........No one is going to hurt my feelings one bit if they differ in thought-----I believe that sometimes different thoughts speak to different folks & also opens the door of thinking to unbelievers.......wow!! Talking about around the bar to get to the door-----God Bless and have a great day
Thanks.....I listened to a lot of that music while trailer/truck'n, when I was running late with a lot of time to makeup or no time to stop & running 2 log books ----I always listened to BlueGrass.....Now if you have serious driving to do and no time to mess around, turn on some BlueGrass, A Coke & a bag of Chips and trust me ----you'll getter done.....Now I am 75 and slowed down a tad bit, but we run to Vegas maybe 1 or twice a year and I still use the Coke & Chips trick and it the Bride is asleep I crank up some BleuGrass, We leave Va. and 1st motel stop is Flafstaff, Ariz, sometimes I get tired and we have to stop in Tx. or N.M.-----Few years ago we left San Diego and 1st rest stop was Sandston, Va......OH YA!!! Always have some good Country Gospel in there also------Driving down the road, Listening to Country Gospel one can really feel close to God.......Memories are so precious, they last way longer than life itself, may I suggest you make good memories because the bad ones also last longer than life----
God Bless -----Your actions today could be a memory, one way or the other, for friend or stranger
Gotta pick on someone, all in fun
sort of sounds like the guy from Motel 6-----we'll leave the light on----come on in----but then I doubt they can afford the electric bill to leave the light on, but then ole Raj said we would at least break even, and so strange, I ain't heard that train a com'n for a few weeks now----HUMMMM, reckon my train is waiting on the drill'n rig and reckon Trump made China mad and they won't ship our rig, but then the other day someone was blaming Foxwoodsman......maybe it is all his fault, has to be----man I really liked that guy too, who would have ever believed?
Thanks y'all for the post----if all else fails this board staying alive will be a real pain in the %$#^^* if Ole Raj tries something sneaky------but he wouldn't do that would he?-----NOPE, we got the Foxwoodsman at the door----he da man
TELL ME IT AIN'T SO JOE !!!!!!!!!!!!! You mean I am not going to break even????? I jus can't believe it....
I never feel sorry for me, but I do feel for those folks who settled out of court for a Boat Load of nothing. I don't remember exactly how much they invested, but I think there were some who really put a lot of money in with Raj/Joe & the gang then tried to regain something by taking them to court and settled for what we now have today. Got to give the devil his dues, this bunch was slick as snot on a door knob, they were really good at what they did.
School of Hard Knocks is the best education anyone will ever get------teaches us to count our blessings
Being thankful------Sometimes we have to look at where we are today and where we were yesterday----say a month ago, a year ago, 5 years ago--------so EZ to get caught up in the moment, the now
I have often spoken out concerning this very thing.....not giving thanks, just a simple thing----Thank You God for the helping hand"-----but when no thanks is given, no strength in faith happens.....If folks would just stop and remember that they ask God for help and that He delivered and then take 2 or 3 seconds to say thank you, they would increase their faith and really start growing in faith......Now about me, what really bugs me, I am very strong in my faith, I truly from experiences have no choice but to believe......yet I find my self much like what Paul writes in Romans----that what I am to do---I do not---then that what I am not to do---that I do-----now where I am personally, this really bugs me to no end....I really get ticked off at myself, but I am so glad that I have a forgiving God....He has way more patience with me than I have with others, but I am working on it.
We all know that at times I am 3 fries short of a Happy Meal.....so to prove the point, gather around all you young & old, skinny & plump, short & tall, while I explain a few Bible points that I doubt you have seen. Comes to Motorcycles. I could not find anything about Rick and His Harley, but I did locate the 1st motorcycle in Scripture------Moses's Triumph was heard in the hills, then around the time of the 10 Commandments --"All Isreael heard the roar of his Triumph. Now if some of you are a bit older you will remember that Plymouth had a model that was called FURY------I think this came in way back in time, or at least God had the original, It is reported that God drove Adam & Eve out of the garden in a Fury. We know that David was a man after God's heart, so he followed those who came before hi and David also must have had a Triumph as it was head through the land..
You folks have a good time preparing for your Thanksgiving day
I was just doing an email with a friend,,,,,, long story short——- I said that each day I ask God to make me a better person today than I was yesterday,,,,, each day I feel as if I fall short.......then I said, we just never give up,, as long as we seek & ask & knock,,,,,, then if we believe——- all will be ok——doing right is a tuff objective,,,hey brother/sister—— hang in there——-the worse thing we can ever do is give up,,,,,,
very good one....thanks
I have told you folks over & over & over I just ain't the best communicator..........then you go openly embarrass me.....lol......I was suggesting that you not try to walk on water, one you may get wet, 2 you may drown, 3 you may have to swim to shore..........However, stick with telling the stories and leave the walking on the water to da Man.........HUMMMM!!! We hill folks have ponds, some of them are not much bigger than a big mud puddle while some may be a few acres.
Only joking about the embarrassing part.......
Hey Greg, you may want to just stay with Jesus's story tell'n example, I would not suggest walking on the pond stuff.....jus say'n
After babbling on & on I went back to my Phillips-----
Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved---------then this---"Now how can they call on one in whom they have never believed? How can they believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how can they hear unless someone proclaims Him?
Food for thought------Maybe the Christian needs to step up. Doesn't mean one has to get on a box on the corner and shout out their beliefs -----Maybe we need to check out our light, is it shinning or just dim.....have you ever noticed that if you are in a very dark room, say pitch black, that a very, very little light can put off an abundance of light-----darkness cannot over come light....just maybe our kindness can the same effect of evil----jus say'n------They say in combat areas that at night the slightest light, like from a cigarette can bee seen from thousands of feet in the air or from a long distance on land. Share the light that God has put in your life.....that little voice inside of you, listen to it when it offers opportunities
Speaking of "short sermons" back some time ago I got an email about this rather large church right across from a college campus and one Sunday morning the church was rather full and just when the preacher stood up to get started a young man, long hair, cloths not very clean, unshaven (sort of like Rick's friends from years ago---sorry, I just couldn't pass that up, ) anyway as the young man walked down the isle looking for a place to sit many of the church members shifted their sitting position so he had no where to sit, the young man walked to the front and sit down in the isle on the floor....then there was this sound-----"THUMP___THUMP____THUMP" and the sound continued, it turned out the THUMPING was an old man walking down the isle and each time his cane hit the floor there was the "THUMP".....the old man reached where the young man was sitting and and sit down beside him------The preacher said the old man just gave a better sermon than he could ever give-------
You know sometimes when you are at the store or at at a restaurant or just anywhere out in public, the least act of kindness you may show to another is possibly the only sermon the will ever hear. There is so much hatred in my world today, be it from race, politics, religion, no matter what----hatred is running wild today------just maybe if kindness starts at the Christian's conduct, just maybe things might start to change.......Look what happened with Jesus and the 11-------I think it was Peter that wrote that judgment starts at the door of the church----a great place for kindness to start
The past week I have been reading from my J.B. Phillips New Testament translation. Back some years ago my dad gave this to me and told me that sometimes the KJ version can be a bit difficult to understand and he found the Phillips help to clear some of those difficult passages....anyway this morning I was reading this from Romans 10--------" You need not say in your heart, who would go up to heaven to bring Christ down. to us, or who would descend into the depths to bring Him up from the dead? It is this word, which is the burden of our preaching, and says in effect, If you openly admit by your own lips that Jesus is the Lord, and if you believe in your own heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Believing is what it is all about, IMO---I don't care how many times you clean the church, cut the church's grass, cook a ton of meals, feed the poor, visit the sick, ----no matter how hard you "WORK" without believing all is lost-----if you truly believe you will desire to do all those good works as you are led by the Holy Spirit----simply putting it, you will be doing that which God has called you to do, not doing what you want to do. IMO, when we do what we want to do, "PRIDE" steps in and we pat ourselves on the back and think, look what I've done......One or more of you may ask----"What do you know?" Simply put "been there, done that." No better teacher than experience-----A long story from years past
God Bless and have a Blest Day
a great sermon in a few words.....thanks for sharing
Thankful for this here another day......
NAW! the penny slots is my job. I believe that Foxwoodsman has been an excellent mod....remember no one wanted the job when he took it. When no one else would step up he did...... Nothing wrong with giving true & honest statements about Raj/Joe&Co.. That outrageous Hughe RS left folks with very few shares, if I remember after the RS the pps was up in the $$$ and where are we now? NAGP has yet to deliver on the 1st promise they made to investors years ago. Over the years Raj/Joe&Co have yet to deliver on anything....fact
However, good to see our little ole board is still chugg'n along. Rather than speak of how many shares ----why not focus on how many $$$$ a person has dumped into NAGP.....I am right at 10K and worth $40.95 today------However I did not get taken as bad as those folks who settled out of court for a bunch of shares which today are 0000 ----for a company right on the cusp of greatness, that sure Ain't say'n much
you were sinking deep in sin, far from a peaceful shore-----the master of the sea heard your dispairing cry, from the waters lifted you and now safe are you-----Love lifted you------
That tune "Love lifted me" came to mind when I was reading your post-----I have used in the past the illustration of a person sinking in quick sand and a friend tosses out a life line of some sort and if the person in quick sand takes hold he lives if he don't take hold he dies-------much like Jesus reaching out to us, if we accept the helping hand we live if we don't we are lost for sure.......
Food for thought here this morning----over the past couple of weeks I have attended 2 funeral service and presently have a friend very close to death's door-----know something, no one ever talks of their earthly possessions, their bank account, their snazzy car, their fancy cloths and so forth.....what is talked about is the memories that have been made over the years.....I have tried my best to teach my kids that everything we say & do creates a memory, good or bad, the important is to try to make the memories good ones.......now the question for us is------when we are out in the world what kind of memories are we establishing with others-----are we grouchy & cross? or are we kind & considerate? Just something to think on today, we are entering the silly season where folks get greedy, selfish, stressed out, for general purposes the ugly side comes out and ugly memories are made-----As a Christian how are we going to behave? Let your light so shine that others may see Christ in you----
I took a few moments this afternoon and just flipped through one of my Bibles and was amazed at how many verses I had hi-lighted----Bounced into this 1---"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew 1st and also for the Greek.--
Then I bumped into this---"God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those which are not fitting, being filled with all unrighteousness , sexual immorality, sickness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, strife, murder, strife, deceit, evil-kindness, they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, no only do the same but approve of those who practice them.
What caught my eye is how many of those things many Christians accept so as not to offend others.....as I took those things which were written----1 by 1----- it got my mind to thinking, I'll let your mind think on them-----rather than judge my fellow believers I got to wandering am I guilty?.........
Just a little something to think on, now off to da shower, that ole saw dust from my shop making me itch and my bride just don't like a dirty ole man, well not in the filthy need a bath kind....lol
I was referring to what they were doing back then with little children----called child porn...
I am going back quite a few years, but when I was running the road I listened to Paul Harvey a lot and through him I learned UNICEF was a bad bunch of people.....I'll not go any further....but you or I would be in jail
Been a while since I last heard or saw this-------Jesus said---"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."-----Actually Math: writes ---"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them"----Luke writes it like this--"Just as you want men to do to you, you do also to them likewise."
HUMMMM!!! Wonder if somewhere this got dropped and folks forgot where it is
