Sounds like dispensary customers are the ones getting shafted. Supporting a tax free retail priced unaccountable 5 billion dollar industry withoutFULLy legal public representation is every branch of society.
So WHERE exactly is all that CASH going?
That being the case , cc is not the SMALL mom n pops purported to be? And grams are $12 tax free to SICK CANADIANS! Where's the compassion? Where's the research nd development? The insurance policies?
Over 3 mil in a weekend? Wo!
1 location? Is that credible or incredible? Wow!
Seriously. Patients have World Class foundation to production and access. In less than 60 days Liberals take a swing at making it even better. ... 60 Days!
How about the Mercury that is poisoning grassy narrows First Nations water source TODAY left over by pulp and paper industry? Action on THAT today! The police are BARELY enforcing prohibition. Cash counters should make their sales quietly and celebrate.
Tweed bought 12 proprietary strains, with the intention to produce and distribute. Through CGC, an international Canadian based cannabis holdings company, they are selling. Would you prefer they sell at the Main Street locations like the 40 odd locations that were criminally charged with doing so last week?
What is your suggestion?
FYI ;
Medcann access, now a Main Street by tweed location is a former MMAR dispensary...
See what happened there?
It's like graduation. Greater levels require greater ORGANIZATION
So you want to be able to operate a small cannabis business?
Pardon me if I'm wrong, but like Jody Emery, your protest has also changed from "patient access" to "cash".
Why don't you, and the coalition, union, organize and LP up? CGC is a public company. Key word PUBLIC. 100 mil shares @2.60, an organized board, and a business plan can exceed federal requirements.
CGC is big cannabis and small investor. Instead of buying street cannabis for 2 years, I bought shares. Why don't you just organize instead of defeating yourselves by aiming for the barrel bottom of standards?
More Compete, less complain!
Your absolutely correct. The MMPR as written by the former government is grossly inadequate for a very large population of Canadians. By the previous estimate of 400k registered patients by 2020, I thought the restrictions were obvious because In theory more than 400k Canadians can benefit from medical access right now. The MMPR is a Beurocratic bottleneck.
Why then do you theorize that now, under a new Government that inherited the MMPR; that has vowed to legalize cannabis, that has openly told the United Nations it intends to table legislation in under a year, why then do you believe it will be the same as before, when the evidence and the Allard ruling and Supreme Court directive ( deadline August 25, 2016 ) suggests otherwise?
Why the endless pessimism? Home grow looks like a real possibility. Dispensaries ( in some form of face to face distribution model ) also seem to be a real possibility. There most likely won't be any limit on quantity of purchase for recreation, unlike that of controlled medicine that most doctors do through dosage.
What's the beef, at this point when there's a buffet of cannabis on the horizon. LP's want product veriety, just like you. LP's want a mote around cannabis that are standards of production for public consumption. What exactly do you believe is wrong with that?
The security regime MAY be relaxed over time, and I support that because nefarious Nelson still wants to sell coke out of his shop, and the rabbit hole of violent criminality is cleverly disguised by a soft grassy snakes nest.
Gonzalez went on to say that most of these dispensaries were operating under the rules and regulations set out by the Canadian Association of Medical Cannabis Dispensaries."
Under what authority does this organization operate? Their own? All good , we are free to organize and centralize. But does the camcd trump health canada , or Federal, provincial , municipal rule of law?
Take Gonzales words as gospel truth, that 99% of dispensaries are angels, and only 1% is in violation of their inflatable code of conduct. Who is enforcing the camcd regulations? Who was stopping the cocaine from being weighed on the same scale, handles by the same bud tender and distributed to who ever had a handful of shiny quarters and his moms wedding ring?
Claudia that is.
At the end of the day, dispensaries - YES! Regulations - YES!
It's the latter that it seems some have issues with, when it's proven they are unable to comply.
I disagree. . Of course there are strains I don't favour. But that does not negate the quality of the production. Accountable, traceable, re callable product. What exactly are your people saying is wrong?
!!! Only 850 over 2 days?!!!
Note: I work with 3 professionals who are happily registered with LP's. All have other readily available options, including home grow and dispensaries . #1 reason for registering: Quality and Consistency. Medical grade.
More people are asking. A lot of folks are waiting on rec. a lot don't even know anything of substance about LP's and MMPR .
In her defence though, she is speaking on behalf of Legalization. And if she warrants and criticism, so does the Governments of yesterday and today if the continue to prove to be inept in making positive changes.
The assistive dying legislation is up for final vote today in the House of Commons. It potentially does not have enough support not time to be passed before the current laws are struck down... Sound familiar? The MMPR regulations will have its rewrite day and deadline and vote , and so will Legalization.
So although we want things right away, and such things as freedoms should be got right away, there is always the gargantuan that is government. Big, heavy, slow moving with lots of force behind it.
Chaos is Cash as many know. So do the emeries. They are cashing in. No longer singing the Patients" Patients ' patients ' hymnal. Now there going for the jugular. Cash!" And no one is calling them out? Where's awesome? Aren't Recreational and Medical dispensaries selling medicine to sick Canadians for more dollars than LP's? Aren't they collectively earning more than LP's? Cash transactions? Where are the compassionate prices? Where is the $0.02/g dispensaries? Where are the tax dollars to help fund further research and development for cannabis? Or does pro cannabis equal anti-everything ? Anti corporation? The Emeries are a corporation! They are franchisees!
Half truths , hypocrisy and straight up two faced lies is a propaganda campaign.
I think the real fear is in the ability to compete on a level playing field with a regulated market. CGC is a PUBLIC corporation. Right now for only the cost of a Tims coffee, anyone can have a share of the business. Where do I invest in big corporate dispensaries?
Get da ufc outa here
She tells half truths constantly! Folks that don't read or fact check are gobbling up her BS. What a waste of potential! Right in line with the zero harms/ zero benefits camp. Not willing to have a real conversation about the issue and instead trumpeting blind personal agendas , claiming to be on the behalf of others. Half truths

Last weeks changes in the dispensaries scene is still on the news rounds. Vp mark Zekulin had a 10 sec snippet on radio and ongoing guests throughout the day discussing access , medicine, rec and the liberals.
Honestly, I give them a little break . They've got their plates full, and this is a small stones mountain. One day at a time. The assistive dying legislation is due in a few days and I would give that priority.
The woman who kept blurting out statements throughout was Mrs Emery I believe. I have a lot of respect for the people that have fought court battles and protested for years for these changes. BUT, I don't subscribe to the idea that they are untouchable without criticism, nor the idea that because of their public notoriety, they have a monopoly of opinion on cannabis culture and direction. Think about this; yes, in the public eye, many have suffered and made sacrifices. But outside of headlines, I can, and I'm sure tens of thousands of Canadians can tell their portion of sacrifices ( serious sacrifices - written in blood and on cell block walks ) made to LEGALIZE cannabis. Not just the "royal prince and princess of pot" in Canada.
We all want a way forward. There isn't just one voice to be heard.
Wow! He handled that well. People there to make statements and not ask questions. Low key operations. Given a weeks notice to cease distribution.
This is totally in the hands of the Feds. The MMPR sucks. We hv access, just not adequate. There is little need for 90 MMAR dispensaries . But there is a need for lawful dispensaries.
Still, it seems like a lot of commercial cannabis jocking disguised as ccompassion cannabis protest.
I'm going to visit the cannabis less Mainstreet Locations. And hope to be at Lift Expo. I don't like the fly by night operations cause their bootleggers. I prefer accountability.
New Regs coming soon. Let's hope the stand the charter test!

Thank you for your insight. I found the following quote from your post very interesting.
"
if we are going to expect individuals to be held accountable for their actions when consuming a substance, then they must be able to rely on a consistency in those products, tested, and attested to, as to their potencies and other properties... ".
There's so much that can be ascertained from this idea. From the foundation of the Government liability, to Health Canada, to the ground work of any possible frame work for Driving under the influence.
This is where 90% of the fly by night dispensaries are failing and bound to shoot themselves in the foot. No accountability to the public. The smart ones will muscle their way in by punching above the belt, and above their weight.
Right now, there are growing pains. The MMPR is inherently restrictive of an Ultra conservative federal Government who openly claimed "no medical value", while people's lives were being saved with cannabis. That's why we are in the "Grey Zone" with dispensaries. We had a three day long weekend here in Canada this past weekend. I placed my order three days in advance, considering that would be enough time to deliver a 1 ounce package 25 km. Something happened, and there's the kerfuffle. I could have very easily, and justifiably gone to any of the hundred "illegal" dispensaries and tried my luck with unacceptable medicine just to get by. I don't think it's a laughing matter for access. But I do think, as is apparent, it's getting better. If the wait time for Any medicine at a pharmacy is Max 1hr, cannabis should be no different. And I think these are the changes the MMPR will see under the direction of this Government. Either LP's will have over the counter locations, or pharmacies will distribute.
Same Day Delivery is Great! I placed an order Last Wednesday, hoping to receive by Friday evening, only to find out it wasn't even picked up by Canada Post til Friday's evening. I phoned in to let them know I wasn't pleased. The entire long weekend without medication I needed wasn't cool to say the least. I had to go back to the other pills.
... And today, they re enforces the fact that Canopy needs across the board efficient delivery, especially with the primarily medical brand. Always improving. I'm happy with that.
An interesting note;
I pick up my orders at the Canada Post outlet... Inside the Shoppers Drug Mart.
Ok, If I were picking up my Cough Syrup, or T3's , I could crack the bottle open, take a swig, cause I'd need it right away, and I've done that. No Biggie.
10 steps away, I collect my order From sender "CANOPY", and I feel the same way. Open the Package and smell the strain! I wouldn't light a spliff. I wouldn't load a vape. Not inside the store silly!
What I'm attesting to is that collecting Bud inside a Pharmacy is All Ready Happening, only it's the Canada Post attendee that hands it to me, without council. I already got that from the Dr. He's already advised me that smoking can present problems associated with , well smoking. Pharmacists and pharmacies and LP's and dispensaries can do the same. The argument that pharmacies can not handle a herbal product is null and void. I've seen folks huff the nitrous oxide bought at a drug store for whip cream cakes ... "Recovering alcoholics" on Queen street drinking Listerine. Similarly prescription drugs are used ... And Abused everyday!
There is no great mountain to climb for pharmacies to "Distribute" medical cannabis. Canada Post is already doing that. $10 a package for some LP's. There is no deep catacomb to trod adventurously through. It's ten steps away from the Canada Post counter.
Or ten steps ways from the couch, delivered at the door. Or ten steps away from the bus stop at over 100 dispensaries...
So really what is the hold up! ?
I don't think there is one. I think Great Tasks take orderly ventures. Take CGC for example. What will CGC be over night, as opposed to many nights. Say 365 nights? Similarly, the Current Government, all branches , as can be seen in daily lives...have got their pipes and plates, and hands full.
It will take time. It will happen. How some go about it will also determine how the ultimate result will continue. Do Canadians want a fly by night medical and recreational model? Or a reputable one? although legalization and better medical access won't happen overnight, yet, it's right under our noses like the Boaty McBoatface that stank up the Canada post office when I opened it there. Such an awesome smell.
You've been following this Corp for some time. I think you will understand what I mean when I say, there are important tidbits in Bruce Lintons forward looking statements, such as "probably" CGC will be in more international locations in the next year or so.
I think he's just directly reiterating the things the board is investing time and dollars into. If the federations around the world we already know CGC is perusing and perusing go legal, med or rec, CGC will be there harnessing opportunity.
So with that forward looking statement... again!... Investors can list and speculate which of the many will be Second, Third, Fourth and so on. And how does that impact the Company.
The Business above all else, even the industry, is in the execution of the management, the board of directors, the employees. It's in Their ability to be excellent care takers of investors dollars, and customers expectations, and Pathefinders.
So ya, lets reflect on April 01, 2014... Not a single seed sown to today... On Bloomberg discussing Legalization, international Expansion, and Market leadership...
Booooring!
Right?
Bruce interview on Bloomberg http://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2016-05-17/canada-s-largest-medical-marijuana-producer-expands.
Bedrocan order # 1945- May 18, mid day.
Last order for 30 days
I'm not emphasising a prescription or a Doctor controlling access. Im emphasising information about Medical Applications. The McGuil Study. Intellectual Property...
Scientific evidence that cannabis .. ( this or that specific strain)... Is to be recommended for (...).
Intellectual Property/ Medical Applications
I'm thinking like some thing that happened with " some UK company a while back". Not gonna say the name. Geeeeee double u Peeeeee
I disagree that CGC is a rec play pure and simple. Bedrocan is Medical, and will remain that way. 20 years and counting growing the exact same strains in ever part of the planet. Dr will have to have that in clinical trials, medical applications. When private industry gets their hands on real science and cannabis control matching medical applications in a fully legal environment is ... Priceless
Gonna happen b4 that
That day will come!
I would like to see the day when there is a Level playing field for Cannabis Enterprises. LP's and Investors and Canadians are getting shafted with the dystopian Dichotomy right now.
If their gonna let mom and pop run a store front, why not Health Canada approved producers?
Yup! I don't want cannabis that's been finger fondled at the dispensaries and booger basted. Ok, I have to wait an entire 24hrs to get cannabis delivered to my door... Boo hoo for now. It's vacuum sealed. If I don't like it, I don't buy it. Like any other medicine. Ever tried returning an opened bottle of buckles cough syrup cause it tastes bad?
I used to have to wait a week til the local Green Thumb restocked, drive out of my way across town, and hope he remembered our arrangement. Ring ring... No answer, head home. " oh sorry, my phone was off".
I've NEVER opened a bottle of Aspirin, Robaxacet, cough syrup, to "Taste Test" or "Smell Test". You gotta pay for that ish! Does the LCBO offer a taste test for every spirit and Brew? Do doctors offer First one is Free medicine? Do doctors have samples giving away for every strain of pharmaceutical?
I like the mail in. Saves me time and gas.
I can go to any of the dispensaries in Town right now and pay for the mystery meat cannabis, but I don't cause 1: luckily I don't have to, and 2: CGC product is Great!
This Sick Canadian is AOK with CGC LP product!
Don't get me wrong, it's nice to smell bud. But it's not like the smell is the goal.
