I bought more at these bargain levels.
Totally impressed with fowler especially. He is the mastermind behind titan that's obvious.
Ask LTG. He will know why.
Well said BK!
After looking through these patents i couldn't find any verbiage related to robotics. The drawings for the patents appear to be traditional Lap tools.
All of this circumstantial evidence might not get a conviction but it sure does point toward JNJ.
I agree with you and have had that same thought. The article certainly makes it sound plausible.
Old news this has been posted for over a month now.
ITitan is Fowler's main focus now that he no longer practices medicine at Columbia. I don't believe it is just something cool he is involved with on the side.
Until a deal is finalized and announced everyone in the space is a competitor. Their mention of competitors means absolutely nothing, nada, zip, zero when it comes to ruling in or out a potential suitor, partnership, collaboration etc. certainly it continues to be a very real possibility that jnj could be in talks with titan or any other company for that matter. I for one was relieved to hear the pr yesterday. GLTA!
The m
At this rate we will be trading for a dime by next Friday.
I listened as well. I was also impressed.

Wonder if rocko owns that crazy taco joint in O'town. I have had some fun times there!
Don't worry be happy! Love it lefty!
Knocking knuckles??
No company shares every piece of information with its shareholders. Just because we want to know doesn't mean it's in the companies best interest to share or ours for that matter. It's likely they have a very important reason for withholding for not disclosing.
Just listened to JNJ earnings call. Interesting to hear JNJ provide a timeline of 2-3 years as wells as mentioning what google JNJ and "others" will bring to the table for this platform. It was the last question in the call if you want to fast forward close to the endofthe call to hear for yourself.
Possible but extremely unlikely IMO. Raven is still a very very long way from market ready. JNJ plans to have their platform on the market in 1-2 years. Timeline just doesn't matchup.
Look up Paul Richie JNJ on LinkedIn. He is the director of robotics R/D since January 2015.
Prior to that his role was the director of technology assessment worldwide business development. His responsibilities included identifying and evaluating external companies technologies. Also leading multi year collaboration program for concept development technical strategy and execution of entry strategy into surgical robotics.
Yeah you're right LTG. Big companies like JNJ / Google rarely ever buy startups that show promise. They always develop their own platforms/ products. It will only take 1- 2 years to bring to market a novel robotics platform for a billion dollar company like JNJ. Get real dude. What world do you live in??
It is surprising that the naysayers on this board are failing to see that the recent wave of PR's are of a completely different flavor than the previous years. Last weekend I combed through most all of the PR's dating to the early days with this company. The PR's of the last few months especially the agreements for suppliers in tools and imaging and most importantly training, tell a completely different story than those of just 12 months ago. SPORT is getting closer and closer. I rather be in that out at this point because we are one announcement away from a big move up. Dont miss out on dollars because the stock is currently trading nickels and dimes with low low low volume.
Can't agree with you more ORep8! The long haul that this has been proves that JNJ/ Google can't create an entire platform in 1-2 years. They will be acquiring a platform and enhancing it. I'm betting its Titan.
They know I called
Not in my mind. I am convinced more than ever that JNJ is the primary supplier for future end effectors and for robot production with possibly a option to purchase pending regulatory and shareholder approval. There are just too many coincidences that shouldn't be ignored. Microline may in fact be a supplier for certain instruments but they aren't a logical choice for mass production of the robot. intuitive also has a number of suppliers for instrumentation including JNJ. This is JNJ's future in the OR we are talking about.
Timelines matchup
Hargrove connection to JNJ
Fowler history with Ethicon ie harmonic scalpel
Companies are speaking the same language regarding robotics
Job postings at JNJ point to three company's being involved
The positions also indicate that they are pretty far along with the robot.
Ximedica has completed or is very close to design freeze of SPORT. Ximedica is a boutique firm mass production is likely not in their wheelhouse.
To win against an incumbent in the OR a major player in the hospital and OR must be involved ie: JNJ Ethicon
New corp presentation points to added capabilities
Google glass 3d possibly integrated into the platform is not far fetched
Titan has mentioned in the past that upgrades relative to sport will be largely related to software (Google)
Quiet confidence of Titan management re cash flow warrants etc
Steady stream of PR's recently hint at bigger things to come
What about the recent options for Titan management? Why did they have shareholders vote for approval of these options?Have they done this in the past? Has some deal been struck and management is in a blackout period pending an announcement? Is that announcement pending the JNJ Google approval?
Not sure about the rest of you but I am anxiously waiting for news on the JNJ/Google approval. It could be the catalyst for needed for Wall Street to take note.
Of course I am hypothesizing here but is it that much of stretch? All of this IMHO.
The Lead Systems Engineer will lead the definition, development, implementation, and management of complex systems (electrical, software, mechanical) to deliver a valuable product to the end customer and meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.
This position is not an early stage r/d position. This position put all the pieces together and gets it ready for prime time. Keyword in posting is deliver novel surgical robot.
buckle up!
This line in job posting leads me to think they will manufacture the robot for a "customer"
Lead and partner closely with all other system and subsystem teams to optimize the output of the system for the "customer"
Manage the resolution of cross-functional and cross-subsystem issues, tradeoffs, and risk in accordance with system objectives.
Manage the integration and verification of subsystems in accordance with program requirements and design. Own the validation of the system against "customer" requirements.
Somehow I missed the third robotics position at JNJ. It is different from the other two.. The other two reference developing end effectors and surgical tools for "customer". This third position a lead systems engineer reference developing a novel surgical robot for "customer". Did anyone else see this third position??
Could this mean ximedica has delivered the complete robot and JNJ is set to manufacture tools and the complete robot going forward?

Lead Systems Engineer- Surgical Robotics-5164150111
Description
Ethicon, a part of the Johnson and Johnson family of companies, is currently recruiting a Lead Systems Engineer in the support of surgical robots in their Cincinnati, Ohio location.
The Ethicon Surgical Care business offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologies—including sutures, surgical staplers, clip appliers, trocars and synthetic mesh devices—that are used in a wide variety of minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. Specialties include support for treatment of colorectal and thoracic conditions, women’s health conditions, hernias, cancer and obesity. The Ethicon Surgical Care business combines products and services of two market-leading legacy companies, both with long histories of medical innovation. Ethicon, Inc. based in Somerville, New Jersey, was founded more than 80 years ago as a pioneer in suture development and manufacturing, helping to transform the safety and effectiveness of open surgery. Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc. was created 20 years ago in Cincinnati, Ohio, developing innovative devices that have driven the revolutionary shift from open to minimally invasive surgery that continues to lead the industry today.
This position is for a Lead Systems Engineer working with internal and external development teams to deliver a novel surgical robot.
The Lead Systems Engineer will lead the definition, development, implementation, and management of complex systems (electrical, software, mechanical) to deliver a valuable product to the end customer and meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.
Collaborate with users and stakeholders to formalize their needs and establish formal systems for translating and maintaining the corresponding requirements.
Proactively determine and manage other sources of systems requirements (e.g. regulatory standards, risk management processes, relevant industry standards, business requirements) throughout the system lifecycle, engaging subsystem teams as needed.
Anticipate future needs and requirements and build into the system as appropriate.
Lead the system architecture by managing requirements and partitioning of system throughout product lifecycle.
Manage and raise critical issues to resolve conflicts and minimize impact to program (cost, time, financial performance)
Partition systems into subsystems. Formally translate and manage apportionment of requirements and functionality among subsystems
Ensure required system-level tools are integrated into programs through lifecycle
Oversee appropriate change control processes and disciplines, ensuring that changes are appropriately reflected throughout system and subsystems
Allocate and integrate requirements for multiple disciplines (potentially including electronics, software, firmware, optics, ID/HF, etc.) while considering future needs for connectivity and upgrades (e.g. interconnectivity with hospital systems)
Lead cost-benefit analyses to determine if requirements are best met by mechanical, software, or hardware functions, including impact of custom vs. off-the-shelf or existing solutions.
Lead and partner closely with all other system and subsystem teams to optimize the output of the system for the customer.
Manage the resolution of cross-functional and cross-subsystem issues, tradeoffs, and risk in accordance with system objectives.
Manage the integration and verification of subsystems in accordance with program requirements and design. Own the validation of the system against customer requirements.
thoughts on Titan
• TITXF is not an easy stock to buy many platforms will not allow TITXF to be purchased. I know from my personal experience with Optionshouse and Firstrade because I wanted to buy TITAN years ago and kept putting it off until I finally opened a new account with Merrill Lynch
• Uplisting will solve this issue
• Titan’s holding the 1.35—1.40 level very tightly. Very low volume trading indicates it is being wound tight and ready for a bounce. Technical analysis and reading too much into the charts are of little value IMO.
• Wall street has no clue about TITXF. They will not have a clue until a major announcement such as CE mark, trial commencement, etc is announced. By the time Wall street knows about Titan purchasing at these levels will long be history
• Titan has been releasing more regular PR’s in recent weeks. This is a very positive sign IMO. These PRs have by no means been huge news but predicting a big announcement is not feasible. The recent announcements provide me more and more confidence that TITAN will eventually become a major player in this space
• The most recent video while not nearly as polished as many DaVinci videos out there shows much promise in my opinion. It wasn’t long ago that our videos consisted of chicken breasts, glass bottles and plastic crackerjack toys. To expect a polished video of DaVinci quality at this point in my mind is unrealistic. Remember Titan is burning cash on developing the robot, instruments, and software not on marketing it. The videos will continue to progress and become more polished and show off more and more capabilities.
• The investor presentation mentions that Titan is not just single port. What does this mean exactly? I assume it means more advanced surgical procedures than what we saw in the most recent release. Perhaps Titan can be either a complimentary robot to DaVinci or it can be the hospitals primary platform. I believe it will provide a hospital a very important choice regardless of whether they currently have DaVinci in their facility or not.
• I remained convinced that in the not so distant future I will be thankful for holding Titan at these levels. I am hoping my children and grandchildren will be thankful too.
Not sure if this has been posted previously it was published may 26 on http://surgrob.blogspot.com. Article on the orgin of sport and Dennis fowler.
http://www.surgicalproductsmag.com/news/2015/05/scratch-paper-or-new-robot-debuts-2017
Appears to be Davinci the end effectors didn't look like snake arms to me. Does microline manufacture any components for Davinci??
Dennis fowler is co-inventor of this technology
An old quote from Ethicon chairman. I'm thinking he may be the voice of customer referred to by Hargrove. Shortly after this was printed Titan announces its initiative for additional indications and the delay. Just another coincidence or a small piece to our puzzle. These coincidences are like bread crumbs leading to JNJ.
"There’s a lot of unmet need based on the current model of robotics," added Ethicon chairman Michael del Prado, who stressed that the cost/benefit analysis for certain laparoscopy procedures like cholecystectomy might rule out robotics for those surgeries.
Me too 5k at 1.35
I'm betting when the JNJ/ Google partnership is approved then we will learn a lot more. Hopefully the puzzle pieces continue to come together!
I agree with Titangold here. You can't draw much of a conclusion based on this type of volume. The light volume indicates more than anything that most folks are holding their shares. Once the word gets out the potential of this company to pop on news offsets most of the downside risks IMHO.
It would be really interesting to know what percentage of Titan the posters of this board own as a group. I am willing to bet the group as a whole owns between 3 and 5 percent of the company. I'll go first I'm at 100k shares. Anyone else??
Old article my bad. Thought I found something new. Dated 5/27 14. Oops.
Johnson & Johnson also announced that it is developing a robotic surgical system that will be smaller and more mobile than Intuitive Surgical's da Vinci. It's not really surprising that Johnson & Johnson would be interested in surgical robotics, particularly given rumors that Covidien and Stryker are interested (or have been) as well and the cost of acquiring Intuitive Surgical. While management was dutifully respectful to what Intuitive has accomplished with the da Vinci, they also believe that further adoption in general surgery will be limited by cost issues and a lack of clinical superiority. That this is where a rival system can offer value.
Continues to sound a lot like Titan.....
Interesting motley fool article about JNJ becoming a player in robotics.

I will by buying Titxf on any fear from this unrelated companies unfortunate circumstance.
