Mortgage delinquencies surge, household debt hits record high in Q1
May 14, 2024 10:31 pm by CWR
Student loan delinquency will not be reported until Q3
— MacroEdge (@MacroEdgeRes) May 14, 2024
Startling data from the NY Fed’s quarterly household debt report for Q1 reveals a concerning uptick in mortgage delinquencies, signaling potential economic distress. The total household debt skyrockets to a staggering $17.69 trillion, marking a significant $184 billion increase from Q4 ’23. More worrisome is the transition into delinquency across all loan types, hinting at broader financial instability. Notably, student loan delinquencies, though not reported until Q3, loom as a looming threat. This explosive rise in household debt poses a grave challenge to financial stability, warranting immediate attention and proactive measures.

‘NO Climate Crisis’ Says Coalition of 1,600 Actual Scientists
The United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is ‘one of the worst sources of dangerous misinformation’
By Katy Grimes, May 13, 2024 2:55 am
“There is ‘NO Climate Crisis’ says a coalition of 1,600 actual scientists” in a recent letter to the California Air Resources Board. In fact, the scientists find that “California is in no danger of unusual drought: The annual precipitation in California has fluctuated greatly over the last 150 years, with only a slight decrease.”
California also has record low levels of air pollution that are below the threshold of human health effects, James E. Enstrom, PhD, MPH has told us repeatedly for years. He’s also one of the 1,600 scientists signed onto the letter to CARB.
The scientists also insisted that carbon dioxide is beneficial to Earth.
The CO2 Coalition’s letter is particularly timely with Gov. Gavin Newsom taking his climate change road show to the Vatican later this week where he was invited to speak by Pope Francis at a Summit of mayors and governors. The Summit, which will be held from May 15th to May 17th, will cover “the impact of rising temperatures” in local communities, and “climate resilience.”
This one-page summary letter begins with a link to a 16-page detailed report containing the strong evidence.
****************
An open letter to the California Air Resources Board
Dear Sir or Madam:
Good news: There is NO climate crisis in California. This claim was verified by the scientific data that were compiled by the CO2 Coalition, a nonprofit organization with the goal of determining and propagating the facts regarding carbon dioxide (CO2) and the climate (CO2 Coalition, 2024). The key findings provided below stand in contrast to the climate crisis claims made in the March 1, 2024, California Priority Climate Action Plan (Priority Climate Action Plan, 2024) and the California Climate Disclosure Rules (Senate Bills No. 253 and No. 261) (Chamber of Commerce of the United States of America, 2024). More details can be found in the attached letter and appendix.
Modest warming of California is beneficial and not a cause for concern: Globally, more people have died from the cold than from the heat since 2000.
Increase in agricultural production: The combination of lengthened growing seasons (from warming) and increased CO2 concentrations has contributed to this increase.
CO2 is essential: Plants need CO2, sunlight, water, and nutrients from the soil to produce food and oxygen, both of which are essential for human and animal lives.
CO2 is beneficial: Exposing plants to higher concentrations of CO2 increases their growth, food production, and drought-resistance; and greens the Earth.
California is in no danger of unusual drought: The annual precipitation in California has fluctuated greatly over the last 150 years, with only a slight decrease.
Ski resorts are experiencing more snow: Most (21 of 22) ski resorts in California had increasing snowfall from 2012 to 2023.
California is in no danger of drowning: North Spit, CA, has the highest rate of sea level rise of 0.005 meter/year, or 1.64 feet in 100 years, which is easily mitigated.
Less natural disasters over the years: Significantly reduced number of wildfires and acres burned were reported in the United States and globally; California has infrequent tornadoes, no landfalling hurricane from 1851 to 2023, and no tropical depression from 1950 to 2023; and tropical storms are rare in California, with the last two reported in 2023 and 1997.
Air quality in California keeps getting better: The concentrations of major pollutants have decreased over the years.
In conclusion, there is NO climate crisis in California and CO2 is essential for all life on Earth. If you need additional details, the CO2 Coalition will be happy to respond to any inquiries you may have, and the members of the CO2 Coalition will be happy to meet with you for further discussions. Several members of the CO2 Coalition have signed the No Climate Emergency Declaration (CO2 Coalition, 2023).
*******************
The letter is signed by Gregory Wrightstone, Executive Director of the CO2 Coalition.
The summary letter contains a link to the September 2023 “NO Climate Emergency” declaration signed by the 1,600 scientists, including long-time scientist and epidemiologist Dr. James Enstrom: https://co2coalition.org/news/over-1600-scientists-sign-no-climate-emergency-declaration/.
Dr. Enstrom says one of the most prominent signers is 2022 Nobel Laureate John Clauser, who described the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as “one of the worst sources of dangerous misinformation,” and was disinvited to speak before the U.N.’s International Monetary Fund (IMF) on July 25, 2023.
“The physicist believes that objective science on climate has been sacrificed to politics. The preeminence of politics is all the worse, he said, because so much money has already gone to climate,” the CO2 Coalition said.
“We’re talking about trillions of dollars,” he said, adding that powerful people don’t want to hear that they’ve made “trillion-dollar mistakes.”
“Concerns about such mistakes may have been what led to his dis-invitation to speak before the IMF,” the CO2 Coalition reported. “Dr. Clauser told The Epoch Times he’d received an email indicating that the IMF’s Independent Evaluation Office Director, Pablo Moreno, did not want the talk to go forward that day.”
“In an email, an IEO senior official told The Epoch Times that Dr. Clauser’s speech ‘has been postponed to reorganize it into a panel discussion. We are working to reschedule it after the summer,’ the official added.
“In recent years, the international economic and monetary agency has focused heavily on climate. Officials have laid particular stress on international carbon taxes. “The latest IMF analysis finds that large emitting countries need to introduce a carbon tax that rises quickly to $75 a ton in 2030,” the agency’s website on climate mitigation states.

Rail Union Warns German Train System Turning Into "Battleground" Thanks To Male Migrants
by Tyler Durden
Wednesday, May 15, 2024 - 05:00 AM
Authored by Paul Joseph Watson via Modernity.news,
The head of a German rail union warns that the country’s train system is turning into a “battleground” thanks to a wave of violence and intimidation being unleashed by male asylum seekers against female staff.
In an interview with Focus Online, Steffi Recknagel, the head of the Railway and Transport Union (EVG) in Thuringia, says that the average day is “sometimes life-threatening” for employees due to the sheer amount of abuse being dished out by migrants.
“I have an average of three employees sitting in my Erfurt office every week for legal advice. They were attacked, spat on, insulted, threatened or pushed,” said Recknagel, adding that female employees are being slapped, kicked, spat at and threatened with being stabbed by the ‘refugees’.
“The worst case was that a train attendant was threatened with a knife,” said Recknagel, adding that another was physically attacked from behind and “the air was knocked out of her.”
The union boss said that one stretch of the network was particularly bad, specifically the one frequented by Syrian, Afghan, and Turkish migrants from the local asylum center.
“I drive the Erfurt-Suhl route every day,” said Recknagel.
“And unfortunately, I have to say it like this: It is mostly young men from the initial reception center who misbehave completely on our trains. They always travel in groups and feel strong together.”
Instead of intervening when the migrants engage in violent or threatening behavior towards other passengers, train staff look the other way or even run and hide in locked compartments to avoid becoming the next victim.
“Our people are afraid, very afraid. We have employees who say: If these groups are on the train, then I won’t check tickets. Then, they say they’ll stay at the front with the train driver or lock themselves in their cabin until they get to a safe station and they get out,” said Recknagel.
She noted that nothing ever happens to the migrants who behave in such a manner, with the police largely powerless to step in.
A four page letter sent to Thuringia Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (Left Party) complains that female workers have been subjected to “sexist insults and spit on in a disgusting manner,” which includes migrants flashing their genitals.
The letter notes that the chaos is almost entirely the responsibility of “people with a migration background,” including one incident where rival migrants fought a running battle, leaving an entire train compartment covered in blood.
“Our colleague had to continue the journey to the Suhl train station in fear of death and with a railcar that was heavily contaminated with human blood,” states the letter. “We don’t need to talk at this point about the psychological consequences for our still very young colleague and the passengers, given the scenes that could have come from a civil war zone!”
The letter goes on to vent fury about how Germans are being told to embrace “tolerance towards migrants” while being violently attacked by migrants.
“How can you expect citizens of this country to be open to the refugee policy that is being practiced when it happens — practically every day, and not just on public transport! — that we have to witness such violence, brutalization and absolute contempt for our laws and society?”
The Alternative for Germany (AfD), the country’s leading anti-mass migration party which the establishment is trying to ban, responded to the story by asserting, “The railway and transport union in Thuringia is sounding the alarm: Train attendants and railway employees are regularly attacked, spat on, insulted, threatened or beaten.”
As we recently highlighted, foreign migrant suspects are responsible for nearly 6 in 10 violent crimes in Germany according to new figures released by the federal government.
Despite comprising roughly 14.6 per cent of the population, foreign migrants were responsible for 58.5 per cent of all violent crimes.

Will soaring inflation be the death knell for Biden’s reelection hopes?
By Andrea Widburg
James Carville pithily summed up one of the key concepts that got Bill Clinton into the White House in 1992 (in addition to the damage done to George H. W. Bush by Ross Perot’s third-party candidacy): “It’s the economy, stupid.” Joe Biden may well discover that, “It was the economy, stupid,” is the epitaph carved into the tombstone of his one-term presidency. Inflation is surging again, and no amount of lies from Joe Biden will change that.
Biden is vaguely aware that inflation is an issue in this presidential election. To address it, he’s offered lies and sheer fantasy. In this selection of short videos from recent speeches and news reports, you see that everything Biden says about the economy is untrue:
BIDEN: "The point here is we're lowering costs!"

ABC FACT CHECK: Inflation was actually 1.4% when Biden took office — NOT "9%," like the chronic liar claimed in an interview pic.twitter.com/8PLONoVaC4
— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) May 9, 2024

It’s not just that things got bad under Biden, though. It’s that they’re still getting bad...and doing so very fast:
A key gauge of inflation surged by much more than expected in April, confirming that the pace of inflation has accelerated.
The producer price index for final demand, which measures the prices paid to U.S. businesses for their goods and services, rose by 2.2 percent in April, the Department of Labor said Thursday. Compared with a year ago, the index is up 2.2 percent, the largest increase in a year.
Economists had forecast a 0.3 percent gain in April compared with March and a 2.2 percent gain year-over-year.
America has extraordinary resources, whether one looks at its natural bounty, business infrastructure, or human potential. However, even the richest country can be brought to its knees when the government (whether federal or state) and corporate America do exceptionally stupid things, such as:
Destroy the supply chain.
Shut down businesses.
Print money.
End the tariffs that Trump placed on China, which uses its taxpayer funds and industrial espionage to undercut the American manufacturing sector (although Biden is now back-peddling from that one).
Bring in millions of unskilled illegal aliens who don’t work but do take.
Funnel American arms and money into Ukraine to support a war that confers no benefit on America.
Pour millions of taxpayer dollars into studies about transgender prostitutes in foreign countries or whatever madness our government currently funds.
Abandon meritocracy in favor of race, sex, and sexuality.
Impose endless regulations that violate the Constitution’s mandate that only the legislature can enact laws and stifle businesses.
Raise taxes.
Facilitate crime, which destroys small neighborhood businesses and renders formerly vibrant downtown areas unusable. For example, Downtown San Francisco, once a dynamic hub, had a record-breaking 36.6% vacancy rate in the first quarter of 2024. The coming commercial real estate crash will make the housing market crash of 2008 look inconsequential.
People are struggling badly thanks to all these misbegotten policies, all of which have the Democrat party at their back.
As Biden obsessively focuses on Israel—a telling thing because antisemites always obsessively focus on the Jews—the economy is getting worse and worse. At a certain point (God forbid), it’s going to go into the kind of tailspin from which there is no recovery or at least no immediate recovery.
The modern Democrat party is no longer a political entity; it’s a cult. And cults don’t behave rationally. Instead, when things don’t go their way, they commit suicide, as Jim Jones and his followers and the Heaven’s Gate people did. What’s worrisome is that when the Democrat cult swallows the Kool-Aid, it risks taking everything down with it.

Cultural sensitivity: Calif lawmakers declared 'Jane Fonda Day' on the day Vietnamese-Americans mourn the fall of Saigon
By Monica Showalter
Here's something that didn't go down well from California's blue-state rulers in generally conservative Orange County:
According to CalMatters:
Forty-nine years after the Fall of Saigon, April 30 remains a solemn day for Nguyen and Ta as it is for many of 2.3 million Vietnamese-Americans in the U.S. They call it Black April.
“It’s a day that we mourn,” Nguyen said.
Which is why Ta and Nguyen were outraged when leaders of neighboring Los Angeles County declared April 30 “Jane Fonda Day” to honor the celebrity for her environmental activism. The lawmakers immediately began pressuring officials to rescind the recognition.
So much for ethnic sensitivity, which so many Democrats claim to champion? This went over like a baseball bat to the face to Vietnamese-Americans who still remember Jane Fonda as that Hollywood political pilgrim who effectively spit in their faces and kicked them when they were down.
Jane Fonda, recall, was once a young starlet who famously hopped up onto the barrel of a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun during a 1972 political pilgrimage to Hanoi and proclaimed her opposition to the Vietnam War which included South Vietnam's desperate effort to resist incoming communists. She also demanded that American servicemen be executed for their role in helping our South Vietnamese allies resist them, grossly offending Vietnam War veterans and their families, Vietnamese-Americans, and everyone else who wasn't all in on the antiwar hype inspired by America's enemies.
The American veterans made their opposition known and managed to exact an apology from her several years later, but not everyone was convinced.
The Vietnamese-Americans, who lost their country to communists through the efforts of Hanoi Jane and the anti-war left and who were lucky to survive long enough on rickety boats through pirate-infested shark-infested seas with huge waves and storms to make it to the states, though, have not forgotten. They, too, were offended, and now they are making their voices known. CalMatters continues:
Ta and his Democratic colleague, Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen of Elk Grove, wrote a letter last week signed by nearly every Republican Assemblymember urging the L.A. County supervisors to rescind the proclamation.
“This honor for Ms. Fonda is an affront to the service and sacrifice of American and South Vietnamese soldiers who gave everything in the cause of freedom,” their letter said.
There also was this:
Janet Nguyen is running for Orange County supervisor. But before she leaves the Senate at the end of the year, she’s made it a point to introduce anti-communism measures in a state known for its leftist politics.
She introduced a resolution declaring Nov. 7 “Victims of Communism Day, in memory of the 100 million people who have fallen victim to communist regimes across the world.” The resolution passed the state Senate last year. She also has a bill pending that would allow a nonprofit organization to construct a memorial to the victims of communism on the state Capitol grounds. It passed the Senate in April. Neither measure had any opposition.
“Vietnamese refugees coming here, we treasure democracy and freedom,” she told CalMatters. “And we treasure our voice. And so we don’t want anybody to have to live through what we’ve lived through.”
They're getting results, because while Democrats have long dismissed veterans as being people of any importance, they do pay attention to the ethnic vote, which they know they are already losing to Republicans for multiple reasons. The Vietnamese are pretty much emerging as the West Coast version of Miami Cubans (and native-born Americans just love them both, culture and politics) and beginning to feel the outlines of political power, which Republican Californians dearly hope will happen.
Somebody made a phone call to the leftists running Los Angeles, and managed to do this much:
On Thursday, the Los Angeles County Supervisors announced they would change the date to another in April during Earth Month “out of respect for the community voices who have spoken up.”
Which is a bit of progress, but not good enough, actually. They shouldn't be honoring this person at all until she apologizes to Vietnamese-Americans for her role in destroying their homeland.
And it's a great positive development that the Vietnamese-American community is emerging to right these wrongs and let these fools know they've got debts to pay.
