Earnings Whispers FMC Watch to see if it pulls up lithium stocks like wlddf
Our proven model does not conclusively show that FMC Corp. is likely to beat earnings this quarter. That is because a stock needs to have both a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) for this to happen. That is not the case here as you will see below.

Western Lithium will not have to pay The 10% duty payable on boron mineral concentrates remains in place for the time being. that is a fact there.
Orocobre is the newcomer to the Argentina lithium scene. They have been hampered by both government policies and poor planning / project management. The fact that their recent AUD 85 million capital raise was 5X oversubscribed shows that investor interest in even a fledgling lithium project is strong – undiminished by several false starts and the extended ramp-up of their plant in Jujuy province which still operates at less than half of capacity and cannot yet produce battery quality product. The change in government was likely a major contributor to the success of the recent offering.

Western Lithium has already found a provider of project financing for Cauchari-Olaroz. This party is the $12B South Korean-conglomerate POSCO, with which the WLC reached a "Heads of Agreement ('HOA') regarding the commercialization of the company's Cauchari-Olaroz lithium project" in August 2015. This is a huge stamp of approval for the project as a whole.

In today's age of marketing executives you think that this problem would be already solved. With these environmental wackos out there you think there'll be no trouble selling them and environmentally sound product like this. Will totally distinguish them as the number one pure player and the first to sellable lithium from clay . I understand the projected time line is 2019 2020 .
That's why it is imperative that the POSCO Argentina sales of lithium to South Korea begin generating revenue by 2017.

Western Lithium Company (January 2016 Update)
Feb. 2, 2016 2:09 PM ET| About: Western Lithium USA Corp. (WLCDF)
Disclosure: I am/we are long WLCDF. (More...)
Summary
Non-Binding JV Agreement With POSCO Announced In August.
Argentina Is An Attractive Mining Jurisdiction Again.
First Production at Cauchari-Olaroz Expected In H1 2017.
Western Lithium Company (OTCQX:WLCDF)
Featured In: January 2014
Partnership Average Cost per Share: $0.24 CAD
Current Market Price (January 15, 2016): $0.32 CAD
Western Lithium was the Partnership's featured investment in January 2014. When I last provided an update on WLC in July, the company was trading at approximately $0.60 a share. Since then, despite the skyrocketing lithium price (see chart below) and significant internal progress, the WLC share price has suffered a nearly 50% decline! This presents an excellent buying opportunity for investors that don't want to miss out on the lithium boom.
Before getting into WLC specifics, it's important to address the dramatic movement that we've recently seen in the lithium carbonate spot price. Make no mistake, price spikes like these ALWAYS END for one of the following reasons: (1) increased supply as higher cost projects become economic, (2) demand destruction due to substitution, or (3) a combination of 1 and 2.
It is in the best interest of the lithium industry to ensure that this "lithium carbonate bubble" ends for reason 1, and NOT reason 2. If prices continue to rise and new supply is not adequately brought online, there will be serious long-term consequences regarding large-scale adoption of lithium ion batteries. In other words, there will be massive demand destruction if prices stay too high for too long. (While the parallels aren't perfect, look at what happened to rare earth demand after the bubble earlier this decade.) It is in the lithium industry's best interest to bring 2-3 new lithium projects online as quickly as possible to avoid this fate.
Westen lithium clay
Explaining how the process works, the company said that clays from Kings Valley are mixed with reagents and granualted into small pellets before being fired at about 1,000 degrees to create a sulfate calcine. The material is then water leached to create a lithium-rich brine that is evaporated and put through a sodium/potassium crystallization circuit and lithium carbonate precipitator.
Using that process, it costs about $3,500 to produce a tonne of lithium carbonate. However, that cost comes down to $1,000 per tonne once Western Lithium's by-product credits for sulfate of potash are factored in, putting the company on the low end of the cash-cost curve, according to its corporate presentation. Furthermore, the company notes that the brine that comes from its process produces a much higher concentration of lithium than that of salars in Chile's Atacama; it also has far fewer contaminants such as magnesium
Ya I thought I posted it thanks . It's good to see confirmation of information whatever is disseminated from the source. One thing I like about western lithium whenever there's news information it's always verifiable. NO PUMP AND DUMP . It might not become a reality but there following threw with everything as planned and outlined. Most risk information is filed on the OTC sight and reading can help when deciding how much skin to put in the game.
Just A side note to all WLCDF members who read my post I am a optimistic person and do my own research. I caution anyone from over investing in any OTC stock and none sales or production of lithium from a clay source anywhere other than test results. Please do your own due diligence and remember WESTERN lithium is also part of an ETF holding which is safer with diversification.
Keep in mind there is sec filings under you can look at posted on the OTC Market site just look up Wlcdf under search on OTC market website then look on sec filings. You can read the risk assessment and there is also finance projection for the next 20 years.
LG Chem Details Cell-Making Process at Michigan Plant
HOLLAND, MI – Until recently the LG Chem battery plant here, which opened in 2011 with $151 million in funding from the Recovery Act, wasn’t at full capacity, which led to infamous stories about workers with a lot of free time on their hands.
But now with production under way for the second-generation Chevrolet Volt, plus supplying lithium-ion cells for other General Motors models including the Chevy Spark EV, Cadillac CT6 plug-in hybrid and ELR range-extended EV, LG Chem Holland is running full tilt.
“For the capacity we have installed, it is fully utilized,” Nick Kassanos, president and plant manager says of his three assembly lines, which are running three 8-hour shifts, six days a week.
To showcase the all-hands-on-deck nature of current operations and give some insight into the second-gen Volt’s Li-ion cells, which increase the car’s electric range to 53 miles (85 km) from the first-gen Volt’s 38 miles (61 km), the Korean battery giant opens Holland’s doors to the media for a rare tour, providing an overview of its processes.
Before the tour of the highly automated facility can proceed, media first don clean suits, rubber shoes and hair nets to preserve the plant’s cleanliness and assure no dirt or dust sullies the cell-making process.
Until last year, LG Chem shipped electrodes to Holland from its sister plant in Ochang, South Korea. Now it is making them in-house here, which is where the cell manufacturing process begins.
A slurry mixture is created out of raw material: lithium, sourced from Korean, Chinese or Japanese suppliers, and a solvent for the cathode and carbon, unspecified binding materials and water for the anode.
The slurry gets coated onto sheets of aluminum or copper, which become the anode and the cathode.
The sheets are made into jumbo rolls, pressed to the appropriate micrometers of thickness that will increase their conductivity and capacity.
Kassanos notes this process still is running on two shifts as it ramps up, not three like assembly.
The rolls then move into a slitting area, where they are cut into one-third-sized doughnuts, roughly the width of the Li-ion cells for the Volt. Here they are monitored for surface defects. If a defect is found, the cell is tagged with a green sticker for removal down the line.
New manufacturing approach slices lithium-ion battery cost in half
POSCO Professor of Materials Science and Engineering. In this so-called “flow battery,” the electrodes are suspensions of tiny particles carried by a liquid and pumped through various compartments of the battery.
The new battery design is a hybrid between flow batteries and conventional solid ones: In this version, while the electrode material does not flow, it is composed of a similar semisolid, colloidal suspension of particles. Chiang and Carter refer to this as a “semisolid battery.”
POSCO News SOON .
new Co-operation Agreement announced early in 2016 that will further define the parameters for commercialization of Cauchari-Olaroz. The lithium market needs new sources of supply and we are excited to rapidly advance our project and to play an important role in the new energy storage economy.”

TESLA'S QUARRY: An Australian store of lithium - vital for the batteries of the future - is much bigger than first thought
Global average Lithium contract prices have risen to $US6,000 per tonne and more recently the domestic spot prices in China have hit $US14,000.
Faraday deal sparks interest from other companies
After finalizing a $1 billion deal with electric carmaker Faraday Future in December, large companies from California, the Midwest and Europe have shown increased interest in North Las Vegas' Apex Industrial park, city officials said.
Ryann Juden, North Las Vegas assistant city manager, said the city has been receiving a dozen calls a week since the start of the new year.
Juden declined to give names but said one company had more than 2,000 employees and another had more than 500.
"They're not small," said Juden, of the companies that have come calling, "Pretty big opportunities."
Gregory Blackburn, director of the city's community development and compliance department, "There was a spike after Faraday confirmed."
Some of the companies that call don't disclose who they are, said Blackburn, but they call to confirm whether the city's reputation for quick permit processing is as advertised.
Companies are regularly impressed by the city's lean industrial zoning that allows companies to go straight to the design stage, Blackburn said. "They're surprised how soon they're able to start construction," said Blackburn.
For more than a month, Blackburn said that surveyors for Faraday Future have been at the site of the 3 million-square-foot factory and that the company has been conducting soil testing since late last year.
The company is on schedule to get necessary permits from public works which would allow it to start excavating the site as early as Feb. 1.
The company has set a goal of building cars by 2017 and plans to hire 4,500 employees.
"Faraday is very aggressive and moving forward," said Juden.
After Tesla chose the Reno area to build its $5 billion battery plant in 2014, there was a similar rush to the industrial park there from companies both nationally and internationally.
"Nevada has always been really hospitable to new development," said Neil Opfer, associate professor of construction management with the College of Engineering at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Opfer, who has lived in the Valley since 1989, agreed that companies that have done work in other states such as California are often surprised by how quickly they can begin construction in Nevada.
"Over in California, everything takes a year and a day," said Opfer.
Opfer speculated that associated companies involved with the Faraday Future project might consider moving out to Apex as well in order to cut transportation and other costs.
Some concerns for companies looking to follow Faraday Future to Apex could be availability of power, water and an educated talent pool, Opfer said.
Part of the Faraday Future package involves infrastructure development of the 18,000-acre industrial park.
Opfer said companies might also ask themselves, "Can I get enough good people here in Southern Nevada to staff my operation?"
Karen Danielsen, assistant professor with the school of Environmental and Public Affairs at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, said the momentum has the potential to further diversify Southern Nevada's economy. In the short-term, Danielsen said companies should have no problem attracting outsiders to the valley for technical jobs, if needed. Long-term, Danielsen said strong workforce development at Southern Nevada colleges and high schools could provide more local talent.
Global average Lithium contract prices have risen to $US6,000 per tonne and more recently the domestic spot prices in China have hit $US14,000.
