Great article. Have to correct myself a bit: Cannabis could be a much bigger story for Plandai than I thought before. Regarding the partnership between Plandai and Pellicer I like the part:
".... It is clear that the number one brand in the cannabis industry would seek out a partnership with the company that has produced the greatest bioavailability."
This is a tremendous chance for Plandai to generate revenues, beside the tea extracts and other products related to Phytofare they will offer.
I am a careful speculator after two decades of microcap and smallcap investing, but I will stay in PLPL however the market will react to this or that situation or news - of course by taking into account that Plandai progresses seriously and steadily.
Nothing is easy, but often some lifes are poor.
As much as I remember Pythofare of Plandai is not in general part of the MJ sector. But some might have forgotten this. Anyway, PLPL is used currently by those who are looking for MJ stocks and do not check the rest of the story.
I have the impression some here take one news, hammer on it till they think it is flat and than blame PLPL for a deal. The total picture of the story PLPL....is not interesting for them. But the next news will be treated the same way. But if I finally read that those people intent to short everything is clear, isn't it? LOL
Of course Lincoln Park works with anyone LOL Why not? As long as Plandai has found a chance to finance their progress I accept of course. You are a funny guy who selects arguments the way he needs them to be negative. Plandai is a microcap with NO chance at all to receive money by those I have listed in my post to you before. Where, the hell, shall such a microcap get money from to progress? As long as wannna-be-businessman does not know the answer for such a question, he should be a bit more careful with his negativity. People like you can offer NOTHING but their personal truth.
Lincoln Park might not be an optimal deal .... but a great chance to receive money for ongoing business/progress. If you would run a some-million-company you would be more careful with your 'truth'
I assume many here are experienced and did check Lincoln Park Capital. No advice needed. I did check Lincoln Park in combinations with ligitation, warning, beware, fraud, fraudulence, lawsuit, investigation, etc.etc.etc. Result: Nothing, nadda, zero. Everything is ok with Lincoln Park Capital.
Lincoln Park Capital simply does what we all do here: Invest in microcaps, trying to find a ten bagger - just that they invest millions and we just thousands.
If speculators would listen to every negative argument at IHub about all those numberless microcaps without revenues, diofficult financing, investors we do not know, etc.etc......OTCBB would have to close immediately !
No chance, buddy! LOL
A start-up is a start-up. Those who are looking for non-risk revenues making companies from the very beginning of their existence - please contact me, I am looking for such listed companies since 16 years !
Getting better and better !
Former Microsoft Exec Predicts Hundreds of Marijuana Stores Open in 5 Years
Imagine your favorite shopping mall with its very own boutique marijuana store.
It could become a reality in the not too distant future, according to at least one industry expert.
Plandai Biotechnology’s (OTCQB: PLPL) branding partner, former Microsoft executive turned marijuana entrepreneur, Jamen Shively, created quite a stir this week when he predicted there would be several hundred retail marijuana stores operating within the next five years.
"It's difficult to predict, especially considering that the industry will evolve, eventually away from cannabis-only retail stores to packaged cannabis products sold in a variety of retailers, much as the alcohol industry evolved during the 1930s and 40s,” Shively said, in a written statement on Feb. 4, 2014.
“Having said that, the next five years, at least, will see several hundred marijuana specialty retail stores opening throughout the U.S.,” he added
After years of helping steer Microsoft product releases, Plandai said it has a partner to learn from in Shively, who the company contends truly understands the importance of branding and knowing his audience, and in the end, it is Plandai investors who should benefit.
Stock Volume Soaring
Meanwhile, Plandai Biotechnology stock volume continued to soar as one of the most active penny stocks on Feb.6, with 1,599,258 changing hands, nearly double its three-month average volume of 868,567 shares.
The sudden flurry of activity appears to be triggered in part by the Seattle and Australian-based company, which produces proprietary botanical extracts, recent entry into the legal marijuana business. In fact, on Jan. 30, Plandai announced that it had entered into an agreement with Diego Pellicer and Diego Pellicer Worldwide to brand its Phytofare(TM) Cannabis extracts.
The release when on to tout Diego Pellicer, saying that it has been the leading name in cannabis products for more than 100 years.
"Being able to sell the Plandai cannabinoid extracts under the Diego Pellicer name brings immediate name recognition and branding into the medicinal cannabis industry," Plandai CEO Roger Baylis-Duffield said, in a written statement
Much Good PR
The media showed up in large numbers at a Seattle press conference where marijuana entrepreneur and Diego Pellicer co-founder Shively announced he would be creating the first retail brand of marijuana in the United States.
Shively, a former Microsoft executive, was flanked by the former president of Mexico, Vicente Fox as he presented his plans to capture 40 percent of the worldwide marijuana market and answered a host of questions from the media.
Whether all the hype will translate into solid revenue remains to be seen. But one thing is for certain, investors appear to like what they hear.
On Feb 6, shares of PLPL closed at $1.35, down 27 cents from $1.62, the previous day’s close.

Huge returns? 12.000.000 shares traded at 0.005 = just $ 60.000
I already lost $95.000 with this crap. Still holding those 600.000 shares - worth nothing.
Promotion will just push this new crap and it will fall again like a stone. Money wash, nothing else.
Can't believe this fraud story is still promoted.
BTW....friday seldom is a green day. Hope we can keep 1.50 minimum
I will be happy if it trades sideways for a while....as long as market does not get the real chances of PLPL it better trades sideways but downways. And as long as such great news doesn't make the market enthusiastic as much as last week I am realy very happy with a sideways move. PLPL will move up, IMO no doubt, but the market should have a chance to find back real confidence in stability of the price. Stability build confidence - not hypes!
simply too much, sorry.
gambler seldom read news after they have got in and dumped again. They daytrade and use chart techniques, momentums and other indicators, but usualy not news.
....this is 'very positive'....and obviously not enough
market does not understand the significance of this latest news.
market does not understand the significance of this latest news.
Stay cool and do not scare people out with overdone predictions ! We want people to notice PLPL without making the impression we are pumping PLPL with stupid predictions like 100% in one day. Not clever to do the same crap likle promoters.
Brillant news !!!! Seldom enthusiastic after investing in problematic pennystocks since decades, but this news sound marvelous. The market will not get this very fast, so time to get in. But those who do not take this opportunity shpould simply get out of microcaps and spend their money in big caps. Beside brilliant news about revenues I prefer, this latest news is supporting my biggest hopes .....PLPL can use the nam Pellicer...what a great chance for PLPL.
Obvioulosy the typical game starts: Wait till evening the stock is in the green to sell next morning. Based on this we might have to take sidewards movement with a big range of daily shareprice for a while. Hope all of us wear warm clothes
I totally agree with OTCJournal about those short seller. I do not believe we have a new share structure, I simply believe short seller did either sell short normally or did naked short selling by using broker outside USA. Finally they have had to cover after the Pellier news. That was the reason for the enormous explosion IMHO.
Thus I hope we have a new price level. Maybe we have to accept a sidewards movement short term . I do not really believe short seller will play their game so hard again as they might have been caught by the good news at Plandai and thus lost a lot of money. They could fall in this trap again if Plandai presents the next good news.
Short selling sometimes ends with a shorted brain
Latest Newsletter by OTC-Journal about explosion of PLPL:
The Plandai (PLPL)338% Explosion: It Started Last September
In my last edition entitled "Reefer Madness" I opined there were two Cannabis related stocks to own in my universe of long term coverage- Nuvilex (NVLX) and Plandai (PLPL).
A scant week ago when I published the aforementioned edition, PLPL was trading at about $.55. A week into the future PLPL started trading millions of shares, and closed Friday at $2.41 for a one week gain of 338%. It's fun to be that right. If you're a shareholder enjoy the ride, because weeks like the past one are few and far between.
Obviously PLPL shares went berserk this past week because there's a short squeeze going on. I've chronicled these kinds of events many times in the past.
PLPL has been the target of market makers shorting the stock for sometime. In fact, I would argue this past week's giant surge in PLPL is the result of events that occurred back in September.
Longer term readers should recall PLPL was the victim of a short seller induced hatchet job article back in September. If you will recall, a Seeking Alpha writer wrote an extensive hatchet job piece on the company providing all sorts of twisted facts to support his claim the company was some sort of scam.
For fun, you might want to go back and read my response to the smear. It was published on September 12, 2013. The article was entitled "Plandai, Just the Facts Please". Just click on the date and you can go straight to my response article.
Here's the lesson to be learned. The insane trading activity in Plandai (PLPL) this past week was the outcome of events that happened last September.
Experienced OTC investors know hatchet job articles like the one that was published at that time are fostered by short sellers- traders who create artificial supples of shares they don't own and sell them into the market, hoping to buy them back when a stock like PLPL goes down as poor, unsuspecting shareholders believe their drivel and sell in a panic.
The action in PLPL this past week warmed my heart as I know the short sellers who tried to spook you into selling your shares just had their brains beat out and likely are losing copious amounts of capital.
Where to From Here?
The short answer- I have no idea where PLPL will go in the short term. There's a phenomenon known as a "Rotating Short" wherein short sellers continue shorting the stock as it rises. The early short sellers are forced to buy at an extreme loss. This buying forces the stock higher, causing the next level of short seller to be bought in and pushing the stock even higher.
Eventually, the short covering ends, the craziness abates, and the stock cools down. You just can't be sure when it will happen.
I've known entire firms to go out of business over their losses in a situation like this. Understand- when you're short a stock that's going berserk to the upside, your loss potential is unlimited. When you're long, the most you can lose is the amount of your investment.
This past week's action in PLPL really happened last September. It just took a few months to show itself.
Here's the lesson- use high profile hatchet job articles as a source of ideas to go long when the stock in question swoons on the publication.
Another lesson- if you like a company you feel has potential, accumulate the stock when it's quiet and no ones wants it if you want to make real money.
PLPL is proof these kinds of articles are rather transparent attempts to scare individuals out when short sellers are stressed.
In case you're wondering- I'm still a long term believer in the future of Plandai (PLPL). I just have no idea where this stock will trade in the short term.
Could Nuvilex (NVLX) be next? The same author pulled the same sort of drivel out on NVLX. Who knows? Time will tell.
MarketByte LLC has received 300,000 newly issued restricted shares of Nuvilex for 6 months of coverage.
MarketByte LLC was paid a fee of $10,000 and 100,000 newly issued restricted shares by Plandai for coverage of the company. in 2012, and currently holds no position on PLPL shares.

you are right! The tea project already has a lot of value and should keep the price of PLPL on a reasonable level. Real speculators would not jump on marijuana only, the real story is PYTHOFARE and everything possible with this product - and not marijuana only !! Obviously many didn't get this and just daytraded marijuana stocks.
I hope some study the story more correct now and keep their shares without beeing scared every minute.
BTW, I bought tons of shares at .12 (believe it or not) and I am still holding. I will try this story until real revenues will be generated ! It's worth it IMO. Tons of pennycrap out there - PLPL sounds much better !!!!
Those who scare too much should also read the blog message of Plndai by Plandaí PR - January 6th, 2014
2014 – the year it happens
"Ladies and Gents,
First off let me start by apologizing for not keeping you up to date with the goings on in the company, especially from a South African perspective. That is something that I have to take on the chin so I’m sorry.
Now on to some new which I’m sure you’re all chomping at the bit to hear as its been such a long time…..
The factory is complete with the final pieces of equipment being installed and then commissioned. We unfortunately hit a few snags along the way and they pushed us back a bit with regards our time lines but rest assured we are almost there.
As for the raw ingredient, the tea, we have just shy of 500 acres ready to be harvested and let me tell you, when one considers what it looked like 2 years ago it truly is a sight to behold (there are a couple of pictures at the end).
And more importantly companies in Europe, Africa and North America are all asking to trial the product with a view to making long term commitments. We are so close I can taste it!
I want to thank you all for your support throughout this time and I hope that you will continue to do so for time to come.
Again I must apologize for not keeping everyone up to date with the goings-on and I will post more to keep you regularly updated."
sorry, but I am a misanthrop - I believe 96% are dump without education and without any gut - but with a useless smartphone game in the pocket LOL
consolidation...yes - but endless panic ...we'll see how far negative thinking and short term interest in PLPL will go.
Hmmmm ! Looking more the opposite today. Still weak hands as I worried yesterday already
stock fox, its a pennystock without any chance to predict anything correctly. I assume another drop tommorrow, even not that high as today. Usual reaction after such a hype. After some days a little rebound could possibly bring us back near to $2.00 and after this we might have - if we are lucky - a trading range between 1.50 and 2.00 for a while. but, even $ 1.00 could happen again. Prediction absolutely impossible here now after this latest good news (interview) did not help PLPL. Pellier was the hype and this hype does not interest the market anymore - that's the sad game of one-week-hypes.
I am not astonished. Wrong people bought this story, they did hope to see $10 in 7 days. Stupid and dump greed which always ends in big losses. Pity for those who have gut.
the next tiny panic seller will tell....... LOL
ok, if this is bulls.t - have fun to waste your time here....after 34 years of experiences I would waste my time with real stocks and not with BS.. But sometimes 34 years are not enough for this or that person ))................... nevertheless, of course: GLTU
upset that you missed to make some $ ? Rats always appear after a run - seldom before.
problems is: people are greedy and buy high, worry fast, negative posts scare them out of the stock, they sell in panic and miss a real chance.
The past daily volumes tells everything: 15 million shares bought by them and 15 million sold by them within days. Funny undersatnding of trading and in investinbg. Tons of childish stockmarket members who do not know how to make money. pity for the chart of PLPL
Guess you are new in the stockmarket: Stockmarket buys the future of stock stories, even revenues might not be as high as the market cap. This is how the stockworld works. If you do not believe in a future of a story, don't buy it or sell you position. That simple. GLTU
Big mouths only who adore to scare people but never invest. They look for such places. Destiny of community boards.
Exactly: We all know so many big caps who pay millions, even billions for advertising to get people into their stocks. What is this called? Fine-pump? LOL
Of course small listed companies want shareholder and promote.
I remeber the owrds of a famous european speculator who said:
" If you are rich you may speculate - If you have just a bit of money, you should not speculate - If you are poor you have to speculate !"
I would add:
" If a listed company is rich they waste billions for promotion - If a company is small they invest some hundred thousands - if a compnay is a start-up with a new idea - they should spend nothing just because it can always be called pump and dump ?"
Some here seem to live in another reality.........
Yes, one should speculate carefully - but the world is full of pump....otherwise the industry would not sell millions of tons of useless games, cell phones, mp3 player, useless crap nobody realy needs but industry tells us we need it......the world is full of pump, what else!?
I have no problems with Plandai - it is just a speculation and - by the way - greed has nothing to do with promotion. It is a human useless sign of character. So do not blame promtion for you greed !
Agree: Those people have not been able to learn something proper lile science, art, classical music, medicine, nanotechnology, technology in general, etc.etc. etc. They just sit in front of a screen and try to suck people who believe in a story or who try to make some $ to support their living etc. - even there are traders as well. I have not single penny of respect for short seller, payed pumper, payed promoter and brainless humans - unfortuanetely 95% of the human beings.
Rats talk only when they have missed a chance. always the same.
Life and business is full of pros and cons. One opinion is one opinion and nothing else - pro or contra - who cares, the final results counts.
