On the NYSE I faced challenges trading I never imagined


For example

I was long over a million shares of a stock and had 20 million for sale with effectively no buyers until dollars below. I was required to send out a price indication , this process eventually created price discovery . Once discovered I was then required to make a fair and orderly market. That stock opened down $5 and never saw it’s previously levels again.

My P&L that day after trading my ass off was a loss of 1.6 million.

I was down over 5 million on the opening - coffee was still warm
