Howie, we're all friends here, I've told folks how many shares I'm long, (when up a whopping 50 today, too) why don't you let us know how many you're short.
Clearly, what I own nor what you have shorted, is not going to move the needle, but in the interest of having some clean fun, I'd like to know.
Now, if you want, you can tell me it's none of my business, for it's certainly isn't, it's just you love giving advice, so I'm curious just how strong your beliefs are.
Our man Trey needs to explain this "not buying at the bid" issue in one of his upcoming videos.
AMC does have a close spread, so it makes a ton of sense to buy at ask and keep driving north, but I've owned a ton of shares where the MARKET MAKERS have twenty and large differences between the spreads.
BYND comes to mind, they can have more than fifty cents, when they really want to cheat you!
I did, but not just for the Cable guy, I believe AMC is going to make me Rich

and I suggested that management could make open market buys.
Nebby, what's this, not paying taxes in 2023? Hopefully, we'll be making a ton of money by the end of this year and all of 2022!
Reserve an entire AMC Safe & Clean™ auditorium. Make it a personal screening for one or a private party for up to 20* people total. Choose from our available fan faves for $99+tax or new releases starting at $149+tax. At this time, we are not currently offering same-day Private Theatre Rentals. Title availability and pricing may vary by theatre. As part of our AMC Safe & Clean initiative, private movie showings can accommodate 1-20 total guests (host included), so the auditorium can remain at 40% capacity (or less based on municipality guidelines), leaving plenty of space for social distancing. Because we care about your health, masks are required throughout the theatre unless you are actively enjoying food or drinks. All guests must be present before your group ticket may be scanned. You may enter the auditorium 15 minutes ahead of showtime. If you anticipate a late guest arrival, please ask a manager for assistance. *Attention STATE OF VIRGINIA theatre guests: Area government mandates limit your party size to 1-10 total guests rather than 1-20 total guests.
Damn right they will open

Cubbie, if you wanted to pinch some money out of your AMC shares, sell an out of the money call. They didn't get their gamma squeeze today, but call values are way up there
After a year of sitting home, when the wife asks if we can go see a movie, no one is even going to be asking, what's playing, the answer is going to be, "yes, honey"
I like TDA Sink or swim to roll over put positions, I was just wondering what time RH opens trading.
There should be a push so that we can start to trade earlier, what time does RH let you trade? There is no reason we have to wait until 7.00AM
God Loves Me, half of my margin call is gone away, I might be a buyer at the open yet!
I was aware of the battle over stock's ceo had with the shorts, it wasn't right then, nor is it right now. AMC is currently the battleground to make the HEDGE HOGS pay for current and past sins.
Make sense, thanks
Well, we got J&J approval to help us turn your big day into the second largest day, plus we have Slow Joe sending us ticket and popcorn money!

3 days ago — One hour before market close yesterday, $GME was holding steady ... Trailing far behind, but still occupying the top spots were other meme stocks like AMC, ... A Gamma Squeeze is a sort of cyclical process that occurs when ...
What was so special about that Jan. 27 day? Why the big pop in price and volume?
You didn't answer my question, how in hell did 1,222,000,000 + shares trade and our great leaders in Congress didn't address this issue?
The algorithms used to run the volume up like that needed lots and lots of capital, why wasn't this issue addressed? Clearly, that wasn't retail buying.
These naked shorts show up on the books, but the way they show up is BS, sold and not yet repurchased. I currently have a margin call, I think I'll use this strategy, paid, but not yet received.
I hope we have another half a billion shares traded tomorrow and we're back to Hill 10, with Panzars blazing, while our eyes are focused on taking down your record volume of 1.2 billion. Insane!
Cubbie, if you can afford to lose the money, the Reddit Raiders are predicting a gamma squeeze in AMC
I'm sorry you sold your BYND money, I thought you were sitting on the sidelines waiting to buy back in, perhaps AMC will help you out, there are a ton of in the money call options to get some action in AMC, I just have no idea if (or even how) this gamma squeeze plays out.
I did look at past volume the other day, there's ~400 millions shares outstanding, Jan. 25th they sold more than a billion, something is going to happen, IMO.
Again, Cubbie, only throw away money! GL
I think they will expire worthless and you'll be able to buy yourself a McPlant burger or two, GL

Beyond Meat's retail sales were up 76.3% from a year earlier.

Beyond Meat announced two key partnerships along with mixed fourth-quarter results, sending shares of the plant-based-protein company higher..
Beyond Meat (BYND) said late Thursday it lost $25.1 million, or 40 cents per share. On an adjusted basis, which excludes expenses related to the Covid-19 pandemic, it lost 34 cents per share. Revenue rose 3.5% to $101.9 million. Analysts were looking for a 14 cent per-share loss and revenue of $103.6 million.
The company said that the Covid crisis continues to weigh on its food service channel because fewer people are dining at restaurants. Revenue at that segment was down 42.6%. In addition, a surge in supermarket sales the company enjoyed earlier in the pandemic, as consumers stocked up on groceries, has “moderated,” it said. Still, retail sales were up 76.3% from a year earlier.
Citing uncertainty related to the pandemic, the company declined to provide a full-year forecast.
Separately, Beyond Meat said it had signed a three-year agreement with McDonald’s (MCD) to be the fast-food giant’s “preferred supplier” for the McPlant patty. In addition, the companies “will explore co-developing other plant-based menu items — like plant-based options for chicken, pork and egg — as part of McDonald’s broader McPlant platform,” it said.
The move is a break from tradition for McDonald’s, which in the past hasn’t publicly stated which food suppliers it uses—in many cases because its large size means it needs more than one to satisfy demand. That is likely why Beyond Meat will be the preferred supplier for McPlant patties, rather than the only one.
Beyond Meat stock initially fell when McDonald’s announced the McPlant because it wasn’t identified as a supplier.
The company also announced another deal with Yum Brands (YUM) to create plant-based protein items at its KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell brands “over the next several years.”
This is the latest in the in a long string of agreements between the two companies. Taco Bell announced a partnership earlier this year, while Pizza Hut did so in November. Beyond Meat expanded in China with a partnership with KFC in 2020.
Beyond Meat was up 7.4% to $154.39 in early trading. The shares have gained 60% in the past 12 months and are up 15% year to date.
While the worse-than-expected result in terms of sales and earnings may worry some investors, the fourth-quarter figures are an improvement from the numbers it disclosed in November, which fell far short of expectations in terms of sales. High-profile distribution agreements have tended to boost Beyond Meat in the past, although some might wonder if part of Friday’s pop is also due to high short interest in the stock.

I do stay at home more, but the masks make my beard look like hell, so better guess again.
That's when this squeeze takes over and shares go sky high, Fidelity has a Trading algorithms that takes AMC to $630.00, I know that I'll sell my shares before we hit that number, but there will be HEDGE HOGS buy and eating other HEDGE HOGS way past normal numbers.
1,301 for me
BB, if we are fighting for 250, I sure hope that folks let those 40 calls be exercised! We'd be off to 600.00
Well my good Dr. Boss, I do not think I'll be here, of course, in spirit I will be, but today, I'm stuck sitting.
I got my second vaccine (Moderna) and I had severe side effects that affected both my legs and arms muscles, mostly their ability to move, but I can type, just not easily. Last night I had a horrible time getting up my stairs, and for the most part, I'm in good health. If you live alone, be careful when you get the second shot.
My wife is worse, she needed my help today, so I am not complaining, but we did pick up her sister on the way to get our shots, she claims she's as fine as frog hair, so go figure. All I know is this, I have my two shots and I can't wait to see a movie on the big screen!
I won't say one single word about the over priced pop corn, which will be a first for me :)
Plus the carrying lost of around three billion, perhaps someone will make a bid for AMC.
I agree with you, there's a lot of 40 bought, but why?
Bid/ask on those 40's 10/11 cents
There are also a bunch(7,984) of open 20's there bid/ask is 20/21
However, like Dr. Boss (and I do not fault anyone, nor judge-not my job, man) there are a lot of people trading options for pin money.
As stated, I'm buying shares to make a statement!
Good Luck to all.
Dr. Boss, I know that there are a lot of you, but I believe that there are also a lot of people like me!
I live outside the City, I took the MTA into the city and gave the Anti Wallstreeters a few dozen donuts, since I only had a few donuts and there were tons of them, it was a joke; yet it made me fell better. Every share of AMC I buy, I feel better.
Now, if I join you and make a ton of money (I won't for I do not own more shares than I can afford to lose) that money will be the sweetest money I've ever owned.
You certainly do not buy AMC if you're wondering how you're going to pay for your next meal, you only buy AMC if you can afford to lose the money you're paying to make the statement that you have had enough.
You buy a whole lot of AMC if you want to bet that these damn fool Market Makers have over played their hand and AMC is about to blow up on them.
I have zero clue what the value of AMC's real estate is, I know I'd like to get the hell out of my house and my wife loves to go to the movies, so I believe there are a lot of people like me, attendance will increase, plus, my wife gets a median size popcorn, even if I tell her for a dollar more you get double the size, but no; Median soda, too. While I don't know the business, the margins are in their favor. Popcorn, soda and a candy bar costs more than admission.
Or we can go the other way, Amazon wants AMC's library and are thinking of putting in Whole Food Stores, whatever, there has to be hundreds of million shares shorted, so yes, that's a weird way of calling something you hold, value, but byjesus, it indeed is.
You bet your life this AMC play is dangerous, I do not suggest anyone buying one single share with money then cannot afford to lose. But if you have money you can afford to lose, then BUY BUY BUY
Trader, I agree that there are some people that are just buying and selling the price, but like I had told Howard a few days ago, there are also people like me that are buying and holding AMC to make a statement that this BS SHORTING is just wrong. People like me are Pissed!
I used Campbells (CPB)for Howard, he wanted a serious company, Kraft has just reported blow out earning for this quarter, Campbell's crushed last quarters earnings, and raised both earnings and revenues for this upcoming quarter, plus they are hiring!
Doesn't matter, in comes the shorts, 10% of CPB is shorted while a huge percent of the company is still owned by founding family, while about 55% are held by Institutions. The float is tiny.
I believe that Howard bought AMC, not sure how much, but as a thank you for pointing out that CPB was a buy.
Not sure of the date, but according to google:
AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (US:AMC) has 383 institutional owners and shareholders that have filed 13D/G or 13F forms with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). These institutions hold a total of 60,484,938 shares.
Of course they are, the MARKET MAKERS just sell those far out of the money calls, Willy Nilly
They also sold March 5th 40's all 11,758 of them, Willy Nilly,
Lord help them if somehow we are trading north of 40.
You can call me Doubting Thomas since we just left a small prayer service, but I didn't believe you.
Jan 27, 2021 20.34 20.36 11.01 19.90 19.90 1,222,342,500
Sorry, you spoke the truth. How in hell did AMC trade three times the float yet our great leaders in Congress fail to even mention it?
It sure does, but the SEC doesn't give a shit about it. The had their pow wow in Congress about GME, but no one talked about GME being short nearly 50% greater than the entire float.
There is no way in hell that AMC can trade a half billion shares with out the Market Makers selling shares that do not exist, yet they did, didn't they?
Daniel Drew is famously credited with an expression that describes the nature of short selling: "He who sells what isn't his'n, must buy it back or go to pris'n."
Neuch, thanks for posting Trey's video, kept me from having to find him, that man has so much positive energy going, plus, you never know where he's going to be; he bounces around more than AMC
Market Makers are suppose to have the shares on hand at the close of trade on Friday to settle calls they have to deliver against puts that written, if the number is unequal, they have to take those shares from their account.
I highly doubt that the Market Makers have any shares since Thursday, we traded half a billion shares.
Panzer is hiding behind Hill 10, he's going to roll up Hill 9 with the greatest of ease
Very True, the BAkers Boys were ball less, they should have been eating the HF morning, noon and night.
AMC has Hedge Hogs eating Hedge Hogs, very joyful to see!
Sam, I'm with Bio and IMO, Trey is the man to bring it to the people!
BB, they burnt me so many times at AMRN, I'm numb, I just hope AMC makes them pay for abusing me and so many others over the years.
How have you been? Stay out of prison, that was nice of you to send me the Thank you note, but not needed. I wish I had sent more. GL
Good job, and hold them like you did the first tittes you held at the big screen.
All good boys and girls have to remember the fun we had at the movies, we have to save AMC, it's UnAmerican to not
