maybe JF and Chip will actually start using their Kent, WA distribution center now...I'm in Seattle and all of my media comes and goes through California...I've never heard of this channel KHCV, but apparently it's being carried by my cable provider. I'll let you guys know how great ot horrible it is...
JF and Chip's favorite 'flick'?
http://sonypictures.co.uk/movies/theproducers/
hahahahahahah, that's a positive spin!
have you seen reeltime's 'content'??? having gzfx' homegrown shows and procured sub b movies is actually improving their offerings...funny that both stocks are lower for this announcement...
from reeltime's front page of new arrivals:
Genuine Nerd
Legit
A Brush With Death
Sorority Sister Slaughter
Unspoken
Filthy McNastiest
they do have 'fast and the furious' however:
too bad it's from 1954
hahahahah
good luck!
this is pretty inconsequential news even by gzfx standards, I wouldn't expect much, if any bump.
"Thinning inventory means increasing sub count. "
yeah, thank God that JF is putting 2 million into the business channel instead of inventory!
are you sure you're not a speed reader? I can't get the description to stay on screen for more than a few seconds at a time...
yeah, it's a true work of art in every regard. that movie alone is enough to make me want a blu-ray player. come on tax return!
maybe instead of scrolling clockwise, you're supposed to scroll counter-clockwise...or counter-clockwise then clockwise then counter-clockwise again. let us know when you figure it out;)
yes. it happens and it is annoying.
another problem is the genre header not updating to reflect the genre you're actually in. this can be very confusing, since movies are released on different, sometimes incompatable formats. like so:
House of Flying Daggers isn't actually available on hd-dvd, only blu-ray (it's a Sony Pictures release) and dvd, but it appears to be an hd-dvd by the heading.
I've emailed this info to GZFX 2 or 3 months ago, and of course they jumped right into neglecting to fix it but started a program to pay customers $100 for feedback on their service instead.
go figure.
it was a joke.
you'll have to deal with 5 for now. I'm busy ordering inventory for gzfx and booking airline tickets.
it's not a 'problem', how dare you say that?!?!? it's a challenge for you to workaround yourself by programming an application interface to GZFX website so that the description always stays refreshed.
so I'm supposed to jump through hoops to make GZFX' website work properly? maybe I can workaround their slow turnaround times by chartering flights directly to Northern Heights, CA (nevermind that there is a DC just 10 miles from me) so that I can deliver/pickup my rentals too? maybe I should go to BlockBuster, buy a copy of every hd-dvd and give them to GZFX so that they can rent them back to me...
GZFX needs to get it's act together. period.
the problems with GZFX 'stock', turnaround times, and craptastic website are legion. the website at least is starting to at least 'look' a little better, but it's still slow as Christmas. even slower is their ability to procure movies that have been 'on order' for 8+ months. someone says I should work around this website bug by deleting all of my queued titles then re-add them. I say that's bull$#!+ and gzfx needs to get off their @55 and start addressing these issues if they mean to retain their customers.
ok, so you admit that the website is broke. if it's not one thing it's another. me having to delete my queue and start over to get movies off of 'on order' even after a few 'on order' movies finally became available is pretty retarded. if you're trying to justify a retarded website, I suggest that you, in fact, are retarded. neither I nor any subscriber should have to 'work around' the idiocy of gzfx, instead, we'll cancel our subscriptions which is a high price for gzfx to pay for such stupidity.
yeah, Van Helsing wasn't a 'great movie', but it would be a 'great looking' and 'great sounding' movie on hd-dvd. good popcorn flick.
Van Helsing? U-571? Caddyshack? I'm not asking for anything esoteric, and if they have no intention of stocking it, they should be honest with me instead of saying it is 'on order' or it shouldn't be selectable from their website is my point.

Slug-"I'm giving them a month to get the movies that have been "on order" for the past 5 months in so that I can actually use my account or I'll cancel my subscription like so many others and cash out the remains of my near worthless stock." IN YOUR OWN WORDS, from Jan 28 '07, you are overdue on your promises. This too is imperfect performance. Or maybe you are still evolving, too!-REB
who 'taught' you how to use a calendar?
how about you tell me how a movie can be available at retail yet 'on order' for 8 months (in my case) or 3 years (in William's case)? the truth is that is has NOT been ordered, so it is a LIE to say that it is 'ON ORDER'. Got it?
I'm not expecting perfection, reb, but I do expect honesty. this company has made huge strides since this time last year, I will admit. I have nothing to complain about regarding the games part of gzfx, just the misrepresented movie titles. my turnaround times are kind of ridiculous though, especially since there (apparently) is a DC about 10 miles away from me in Kent, WA (?), but none of my rentals come from or go to there...go figure.
why do you want this company to fail, reb?
you are correct, sir!
wow, I thought 8 months was ridiculous, but some of your titles have been 'on order' forever!
the lying is the part that really bothers me, not the lack of inventory in and of itself. I mean, I don't expect any rental company to have every title that has ever been released, but I do expect them to receive titles in a reasonable amount of time if they are claiming these titles are 'on order'. that or the titles shouldn't appear on the website at all if they have no intention of ever obtaining a copy. either way I'm fine with, just don't misrepresent the true or intended inventory is all I'm asking.
I can't believe the GZFX overlords are paying customers $100 each for these kinds of clues, which makes them even more clueless than I originally thought.
no. it's not the fault of snail mail when it consistently take 5+ days for a movie to be checked in, but only 2 or 3 days to receive a movie after notification. that lies with the people at the DC not checking rentals in in a timely fashion. if you're saying that those movies are actually available, yet the GZFX website hasn't updated their status in my queue, that's another significant problem. I will say that several 'on order' movies have eventually been procured and these have automatically moved into my regular queue. Superman, Fearless, and something else I can't remember, but the rest have been on order for 8+ months.
I'm not talking about 'not released' movies, I'm talking about available at retail movies that have been 'on order' for 8+ months.
yeah, I think they finally got Fearless on hd-dvd.
I'd be happy if you could try to explain why movies are 'on order' for 8+ months.
I'm not asking for 'perfect', I'm asking for honest. I'd be content if they didn't even have an hd-dvd section, but putting one up and making it look like you carry movies when you don't is inexcusable. even worse than lying about movies being 'on order' for 8 months.
hey xanny. how can this company grow into 'bigger and better' things when they can't even acquire subscribers to their core business, much less retain them? ~15,000 subscribers after 3 years or so? a satellite channel that no one watches? gawd awful streaming movies? don't kid yourself. JF hasn't done anything substantial with our money in several years. every passing day is more money taken from our (collectively the investors and subscribers) pockets and deposited into JF's and Chip's bank accounts. these recent PRs were so anticlimactic that the stock retreated right back to where it was 24-48 hours previously. this after losing 90% of its value from last Spring. 'bigger and better', huh? 'ha' is more like it. flipping for 20% to the fools that think any of these PRs are actually worthwhile is this stock's only saving grace.
yeah, it's really fantastic that some of these share holders actually encourage subscribers to cancel instead of holding the officers of their company accountable.
::shakes head in disbelief::
I've already downgraded my service, Agent. cancelling is next. if gzfx ever wants to be successful, they have to keep people like me from cancelling. I mean, what exactly is their core business? and what is their churn rate? something like 50%? about 10x more than reasonable? ever wonder why after several years and millions of dollars and billions of shares of dilution that gzfx doesn't even have 20k subscribers? ever wonder why this stock is perpetually in the crapper? here's why: because gzfx can't even get the basics right, like stocking movies that they claim to stock or getting them delivered and checked in in a timely manner. so fret not, Agent. I'll most likely be telling you how easy it is to cancel my subscription soon enough.
they misrepresent their inventory of HD-DVD. if you have a subscription, add some to your queue and tell me how many are in stock and how many are 'on order'. or, if you don't have a subscription, witness part of my queue:
Titles On Order or Not Released
Priority Title Availability Date
Bullet Witch Not Released 2/21/2007
U-571 - Widescreen HD DVD On Order 5/23/2006
Van Helsing - Widescreen HD DVD On Order 5/23/2006
Mummy On Order 11/28/2006
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines On Order 9/26/2006
Happy Gilmore On Order 6/13/2006
Caddyshack On Order 8/22/2006
Thing On Order 10/24/2006
V For Vendetta On Order 10/31/2006
School for Scoundrels Not Released 3/27/2007
Sting On Order 1/16/2007
apparently these movies are not in stock or 'on order'. May 2006? gimme a break.
sorry you can't handle the truth, buddy, and the facts are that this company lies about their inventory (among other things). investors and potential subscribers have a right to know that.
I'm in Seattle. apparently there is supposed to be a distribution center only a few miles from me in Kent, WA, but all of my media come from and go to Northern Heights (?), CA. it only takes two or three days for me to receive media, but it usually takes 5 or 6 days for them to check my returns back in.
these movies have supposedly been 'on order' for over 8 months...and...I was paying ~$17/month until this month where, due to misrepresentations/false advertising/call it what you will, I downgraded my service.
millions of dollars to invest in tv shows that no one watches but not a few thousand dollars to put into inventory is, well...wrong. on every level. end of discussion.
I've already reactivated my NetFlix account, and am <-this-> close to cancelling my GZFX subscription.
how about this FREE advice, GZFX overlords:
STOP MISREPRESENTING YOUR INVENTORY OF HD-DVDS AND DECREASE YOUR TWO WEEK TURNAROUND TIMES!
YOU'RE WELCOME;)
there's no 'possibility' about it. someone from Oz is definitely paying attention. as this is my last post for the night and my job here is done, I bid all 'good luck'.
p.s. GO COLTS!
