One could do a lot better just following a simple PPO(3,8) daily, or even simpler, a 50 EMA. He says "down" virtually every day for 9 months and then he is finally right with 2 or 3 down days in a row and suddenly he is vindicated. Even broken clocks are right twice a day. What is astounding is that in his own mind, he is a rock star...
I sort of thought as much. Definitely not the shy and retiring type...
Do you find the embedded in-line text ads here and on other sites by Vibrant, Kontera, et. al., to be extremely annoying? If so, here's a simple way to turn them off without having to download and install anything. Mouse over one of the links and then click on the "?" mark, which should take you to the ad provider's web site. Then, look around for the "disable link" option which will prevent your browser from retrieving the ads and will also remove all the double underline links that garbage up the text of the posts. Then, close and restart your browser. There's also another download at "ie7pro.com" that will block most of the other ads *and* includes a background spell-checker.
Praise is best left for others, lest we begin to think you have a bit too high an opinion of yourself.
Sorry, thought it was Prechter. Perhaps you will become a convert...
I think it is "The Elliott Wave Principle" by Robert Prechter, who has made a lot more money selling books than profiting from its use. However, I would not waste my money if I were you. You could do as well with "Madame Endora's Fortune Cards", since both are about equally founded in scientific or mathematical reality.
At ~ 1856, NDX is right at the lower boundary of its intermediate term rising wedge pattern and is also at the lower (10,2) Bollinger Band envelope.
Okay, the market is down today (so far), perhaps in recognition of the likelihood that, in view of the MA election results, profligate Government spending may now be reigned in. It remains to be seen whether the ruling elite in Washington will get the message to change their ways or else the people are coming for their heads. However, as the first adjustment to the new reality, the dollar is up strongly and equities are down hard.
How long do you think it will be before the chest thumping starts in the Opium Den?
I like it...
Coakley folds...
I can't imaging anyone with a brain paying good money to read his BS...
This unexpectedy strong push could very well be a "buy the rumor, sell the news" situation. If the market is front-running the strong likelihood of a Brown win in MA and a return to gridlock in Washington, according to Cramer, it could be selling pharma and the financials big time tomorrow. Of course, the Dims are frantically trying to figure out how to pass *something* on HC before Brown could be seated, but the odds are rapidly diminishing. The House won't accept the Senate bill without the Stupak abortion language and/or a public option, and the Senate would have to debate and then vote on the additional deals cut for labor, which would give sufficient time for Brown to be seated and again expose the bill to a cloture vote. They could strip out everything except the regulatory changes and pass it piecemeal with simple majorities, but the grand takeover strategy would be dead. Anything beyond HC, such as Cap & Tax and Card Check, are also dead with a Brown win. How wise were the Founding Fathers?
If Coakley were to pull off a victory, which would be an upset at this point, I would not want to be Long. Also, with some of the polls, the margin of error is said to be within the Acorn factor.
Concur that the market would like the prospect of renewed legislative gridlock and stopping the Obama Socialist Express. In fact, considering the polls, we may be seeing an advance run of that.
Have you noticed how quiet it gets over there in the Opium Den when the market goes on a tear? I guess they are busily reviewing their rules and recounting so that they can then claim that this move was foreseen by EW, but they just weren't smart enough to see it ahead of time. How ludicrous...
"It will go down to here, unless it goes down further." Such wisdom. I am breathless...
You think maybe he is stealing Pokemon's counts and posting them as his own? Pokemon won't like that...
I think he and Snoot may shortly be the only ones left in the Psychic Readers' parlor also.
Perhaps relatives in the West Virginia sense, i.e. where your father is also your uncle, or your grampa and father are the same person.
"I would love to post it here but it would not be fair to my subscribers."
The fairest thing for his subscribers would be for him to fold his tent and crawl back under the rock from whence he came.
"Hang in there. You are coming up with the right questions. It is all great practice."
Quote from post to Snoot. See how it starts with the gentle but condescending put down? Snoot better get in line or he will be toast very quickly. Also, have you noticed how he equates his "prowess" to people who have actually made a name for themselves in this business?
The idiocy continues...
"First off no part of 4 can overlap any part of 1 or 2.
Even if it could it would not work because of wave [ii] from 11/16 to 12/18. The only way [ii] can work is as a double zig zag (two abcs connected by an x wave). If you remove the abc from 12/9 to 12/18 from wave [ii] and add it to wave [iii] then you have destroyed wave [ii] and it will not work."
If you believe this (assuming you can even follow it), I have some land in FL I would like to sell you...
Alternately, we can come up with our own monikers for them and the fantasy land they live in. Sugggestions are welcome but I submit for consideration "Pokeymon", and our new friend can be just "Snoot", "Snooty" (which kinda fits), or perhaps "Snootful", since he must be drinking or smoking something. The Bears' Den itself could be the "Opium Den", or maybe just "Psychic (or Psychotic) Readings, Ltd."
Hey, Mon, you are right. Ihub Admin deleted your post (and I can't restore it), so *someone* must have whined to them. I find it strange that they will delete posts on this board, but take the position that on his board he can do pretty much whatever he wants. I guess to be safe, just refer to them in the third person without naming names. They will still know you have their number.
Or, how about "The Opium Den"???
This is an early OE Fri, so I expect a reversal and some retrace of the AM decline.
Yeah, I know (it's mine), but JLS posted this here.
I consider it my mission in life to confront ignorance and stupidity wherever I find it, and he certainly fills the bill on both counts. His mastery of English is about on a par with his EW prowess.
You are welcome, and don't hesitate to tell us what you think. We may not agree and tell you that you are full of it, but that's about it. Just keep it reasonably civil and everyone will be happy...
I think Poker's indiscriminate deletions violate the site's TOS and should be reported. I have done so and would encourage each of you who have been a victim of Poker's bias to do the same.
I recall from the past that all you ever seem to want to do is argue. Are you a woman??? The offer has been made to allow you to check out the system for yourself. If you choose not to do that, then fine, but if all you want to do is snipe, you go on my ignore list.
Might I suggest the "Pokersam Crotch Worship Board", since that seems to be the only type of behavior he will tolerate.
I'll bet that one got deleted also.
Do you not know what "backtested" means??? If you want to look, come on over, otherwise, please keep your remarks to yourself.
I'm out of posts, so I won't be able to address anything further until the AM.
You are more than welcome. IMHO, you were always a rock of reason and civility, a philosophy that Poker preaches better than he practices.
If you are not interested in seeing for yourself, I would respectfully ask that you refrain from making further unfounded accusations.
No, to Poker, "most probable" is just his subjective view on which one most favors a massive selloff. I asked him about it one time, and it is not based on any math that he could articulate.
I appreciate your skepticism, but unless I was asked about it directly, I don't think I ever promoted my website or system on Poker's board, and in fact assiduously tried to avoid that. If you have an example of a post in which you think I did that *unsolicited*, then I would like to see it.
My recent quotation of the system statisitics was only meant to show, in view of PS's EW claims, that *all* backtesting and/or what a system can do in hindsight has to be taken with a grain of salt (and that's $575.5B, not trillions). A "win" is simply a trade that closes for a profit, whether it be $1.00 or $1000.00. A better measure of profitability is an expected value of 1.01578 Long (which is the Long win rate x the average win + the Long loss rate x the average loss). The Short expected value is 1.01272.
However, you don't have to take my word for it. Send me an email at: tmgsignal@comcast.net and I'll send you an invitation for a tour.
He is remarkably resilient and persistent. One of these days he will be right and there will be no end to the crowing and chest thumping, amid declarations that he was right all along. He is a legend in his own mind.
The fact is, I can't understand how anyone manages to trade profitably with EW, since it lacks the critical time component. "The market will definitely go down at some point in the future, but I can't say exactly when." Wow! How insightful is that? It has probably been deleted, but as I said in a post this morning (and may have been the straw that broke the camel's back), if you had backed up the truck every time the arrival of the dreaded wave iii was loudly proclaimed over the last 6 or 7 months, you would have gotten crushed. Of course, if the count was revised afterwards to account for the fact that it didn't happen, then it wasn't really wrong, but just try to convince your broker of that. I like certain fantasies in my life as much as anyone, but not in my trading.
You think maybe he finally got over here and saw this???
