Some clarifications from a CC employee
Hi to everyone first of all, I am a new investor and first time poster. I have been reading these posts for about a month now. I am a shareholder with gzfx and a CCity employee. I invested when I first learned our store (a test market store) would be testing the gameznflix possible rollout. Although I have no more knowledge available to me than the rest of you and no priviledged information regarding the two companies, I can clear up some of the confusion regarding some posts I have seen.
1) Ccity's flyer is NOT made 6 months in advance. Although I don't know the specific time in which they are created, I know it is not 6 months. In fact, the stores don't even receive the flyers until sometimes the day before the new ad is circulated. Sometimes the ad is late and the stores don't get them for a couple days after they are available to the public.
2) The ads are also region specific. An ad in NY can be different than an ad in OH for example. Even with my store being a test market store, the gameznflix spot has not emerged in our flyer except in the last few weeks, even though we have been carrying the product for a few months now.
3) IMO CC is approaching this agreement very cautiously. I have seen other partnerships sink like the Titanic in our market. IMO they are looking at this closely because of the boats which have sunk in the past. Anyone remember DIVX? This was a ship that sunk deep. For those who are not familiar, it was an idea to have movies purchased which could only be viewed a couple times before they had to be disposed. A "disposable movie" in effect. Modern technology and piracy sent this boat to the ocean floor. IMO they do not want this to happen with any other partnerships/ideas, so they are being careful with any new partnerships.
4) I can tell you that our store has not only received the gzfx display, but has also obtained lanyards and product stickers to promote the partnership. Anyone who has been in a test market store has probably seen the lanyards on employees necks and stickers on video/game products.
5) Ccity is in the market to make money, not make investors money. They are going to make sure that this partnership is worth it for the good of the company before they proceed, IMO. However, I am sure I'm not the only employee who owns stock, so let's hope the "big wigs" who are making the decisions have a piece of the pie as well!
Hope this clarifies some unanswered questions. Again I have the same amount of info regarding this partnership as any other investor and have no idea what the future brings. I'm holding onto my stock with the same hopes of winning big in the market. Good luck everyone, let's hope this is a ride to remember.
