I'm seeing some nice pivots in price today-look at TLRY or ITHUF.
True words Brother, and I feel for everyone here and across the sector. We need a SUSTAINED move up, not just a one or two day pop, so that is what I meant by volume. Ultimately this is a business like any other, so the good business people will succeed, and I think Bill is capable of this. There is a pall over the sector now, and I believe that after the elections things will improve. The Dems are our friends.
Bottom line is that there are no compelling reasons to own pot stocks right now. Sure, they are cheap, but they can get cheaper. Tilray $180 to 20-bout sums it all up. Until accumulation over-takes distribution, with volume, nothing is telling me to buy-or even hold. It may happen on a dime, but unless I see double and triple volume on upward price movement, I'd rather be cash.
I have never found averaging down to work very well. It simply means that I was wrong the first time.
iAnthus and Truelieve are maybe the only two cannabis stocks worth owning if you value fundamentals.
Boy-this sector is beat up!! Feels like 10 rounds with the Champ! We've gone from exuberant over-valuation to today's hyper under-valuation. In the blink of an eye! Well, to me the landscape has made a lot of morphs. You got the guys who took a cultivation approach being hammered as the out-sourcing of flower has picked up pace. It is clear now that MOST domestic cultivators won't make it. The cost per gram is just too high in the USA and Canada, and Columbia/Argentina/Uruguay can do it cheaply.
So it seems like most here were right. We will have the connoisseur niche of smokers who will want what LVVV has in the vault (the single-malt scotch guy if you will). And then there will be the folks just looking to get high, and this is where the edibles, beverages, vapes, etc. come in. Branding is playing out to be the biggest deal from what I see. THC can come from anywhere for the consumable market. Clones and premium strains will always have their place. I think the majority of the sector plummet has to do partly with legislative hurdles and Canntrust-like scandal, but most of it is because these big players thought that the grow side was where the gold is. All that got us was a bunch of mass-produced, over-priced and most-likely "meh" grade weed.
Hopefully Bill is thinking on his feet and making tweaks in his plan as the history of this sector continues to add insight into its future. I'm questioning the need for so much land in Paso as the opportunity to cultivate it seems diminished. A cloning operation with distro and branding facilities doesn't require a TON of space, initially. With every Californian allowed to grow 6 plants-who needs to buy weed anyway?
Knew this was coming :P
It just goes to show you how f'd up the whole process is-they enable you to get a state license, local licenses, fictitious names, incorporate-yet you can;t even open a business checking account, nor utilize credit card transactions. Yep-sounds like "government" to me!
Good question! Sure has us wondering!
Buyer may not be a publicly traded company :)
Seems like a long halt for any news, but I think that bad news would have disseminated quickly. This seems more complex, like a buyout/resolution.
Indeed it could.
Not yet! This is either a license yank or a resolution. Let's hope they don't pull an Evergreen on us.
I will balance your caution with my optimism-I think it is good news.
What I do see is that my options are up big for some reason-like 200%.
I've seen it go both ways.
Appears to be true, per Etrade.

The Sackler family are billionaire drug pushers.
The Purdue's will reside in the hottest bowels of Hell.
What's next? The janitor smoked a joint in the employee kitchen? News agencies are whores.
To quote Abraham Lincoln-"The most reliable way to predict the future is to create it".
Agree-most likely a lot of saber-rattling, but if my intuition is right, a LOT will happen AFTER the elections, with no election-risk to their constituencies.
Looks like a triple-top that never broke out :)
Hope everyone has a good Labor Day weekend. I'm burnt-out so I'm sure we can all use the rest. I will say if there is one company I truly wish could reach the stars it is Livewire/GHC. Now, wishes don't make heroes, but it seems reasonable that favorable legislation and Bill's tenacity could be well-timed for all of us. I think of it as the America's cup, where the boats are all positioning at the starting line for the beginning of the race. Where you are positioned when the legislation/banking/DEA relax will be very important. Too far ahead or behind will hurt you.
Anyway-lot's to look forward to for the entire US sector.
March 2.50's
bmel so sorry to hear about that. I need to schedule the old colonoscopy myself-fun stuff!!! bet you are a big advocate of them. Would it have helped to get one earlier in your case?
Prayers to you, buddy.
I'm adding 100,000 here and there, had one order hit near the close. I think Bill's hard work is starting to pay off, and ONE day, some legislative news will be good for the whole sector-be it banking, Federal, FDA-only a matter of time and it may pick up after elections since most pols won't go out on a limb too much prior to. Can't get much worse out there sector-wise (buy the blood), which means better times are ahead.
Cureleaf saying they'll do a billion in revs in 2020-pretty impressive and shows that this ain't a chump-change business,
Canada is over-valued, but I do feel the US-based green stocks are under-valued. We'll have our day, but we really do need the banks and Feds to climb on board before the real gains are made. Pretty hard to succeed at anything that is Federally illegal. Any guesses as to how you pay Federal income taxes on illegal product? Scratching my head on that one.
It hits .50 and I'm flying to NC to kiss a squirrels nuts :) Must say I was impressed on the Q rev's. Assuming most of that came from clones, and Bill hasn't really even scaled a fraction of the potential. I'm thinking the bottom is in, and share price will climb now in anticipation of next Q's report. Healthy support here imho.
Long-term holder here. What I read from the tea leaves is that the revenue beat was not substantial enough for the street, hence the sell-off on moderate volume. We will need some PR's going forward and good interim rev reports which will quickly right the ship.
Looks like normal Fib retracement.
No kidding! Complete waste of police resources. Booze kills, weed chills.
Them Califernians like their weed!
Did I see a cash balance of $12K?
In 2 1/2 years of tracking cannabis stocks only 10 or so are up 100% in that time frame (pardon my Beyond Burger entry). I started the list with over 200 stocks. This industry is years away from figuring itself out. The best thing that could happen is that the FDA, Fed and banks come online so that business can proceed unhampered. As you can see form Tilray and Canopy-revenues alone aren't enough-the investing public wants profits. Even Charlotte's Web and Trulieve, which are profitable, have seen share price declines. It is worthy to note that LVVV is up more than Canapy and Aurora!
