I have no idea what happened yesterday, but I continue to wonder if it is related in some way to the mysterious retirement of the Purdon shares. There is so much more to this transaction than meets the eye or has been disclosed. Meanwhile, the Company is crazy cheap. Could there be some kind of acquisition in the wind? Pure speculation on my part, but it has the feel of someone in the know front running an imminent announcement.
Whatever the reason, my 3.3 million shares had a good day!
For some investors, the "rules of discounting" lead to the conclusion that the audit will never be completed. The rules I am referring to are those that discount the truth of whatever is announced by the Company. Again, the credibility of the Company is shot because of a willingness to make public pronouncements about "deals" that are just talk.
Regrettably, I have been around much too long. Long enough to experience all of the broken promises and missed deadlines. But I certainly hope that you are right, and that this time the Company delivers.
What "due diligence" are you referring to? Statements made by the Company?
What makes you think that an audit is coming? Just because the Company says its coming?
And if it ever materializes, what makes you think it will be good news?
There has been a ton of this crap over the past 2 years, costing the Company valuable credibility. If you believe this dealership story, I have a $300 million Niger/China truck deal for you. LOL

This is a must read post. Right on the money.
LOL . .. The next AMMX subsidiary: Hamre's Truck Center of Niamey. Do they take coupons?
Marty once told me that they were anticipating a 3%-5% commission. But I never saw documents of any kind and thus do not know how that 3%-5% commission is to be collected. Obviously, if AMMX has bargaining power, it will make sure to get paid before the trucks are delivered, but I doubt that it has much bargaining power at all. What does AMMX have that anyone in Niger needs?
The size of the deal a couple of years ago used to change from month to month by increments of $100 million. I will be stunned if AMMX ever sees so much as a dime from a Niger/Nigeria deal, but I would love to be wrong, and will be the first to eat a major plate of crow here if I am.
News of an actual, signed deal would obviously be a major short term boost to the stock price -- a major selling opportunity, in my view -- but I think it is important to remember that a contract is not the same thing as payment. There isn't anyone in Niger or Nigeria (or China for that matter) that cares anything about contract law.
What also bothers me is that the Company likes to describe these deals as a "$300 million truck deal" or something equally dramatic. But all that AMMX will get, if anything, is some kind of finder's fee or brokerage commission. And once Niger or Nigeria or whoever has the trucks, why would they ever pay anything to AMMX? The fact is that AMMX does not make trucks and does not have money -- apparently Lee has "relationships" of some kind.
In the meantime, the Company is a very viable business that is seriously undervalued, but that no-one seems to take seriously because of a lot of nonsense about $300 million Africa/China truck deals.
I have owned this stock for years, off and on, and I am very long right now. But nothing has done more damage to the share price than endless talk by the Company about Niger/Nigeria. Even if the Company actually had a signed "contract," it would be meaningless unless and until actual money arrives. In the meantime disappointments abound as the "timetable" for the latest huge African deal turns out to be nonsense. Those who might be attracted to the company by continued success in its core business visit this board and read endless "to da moon" messages about Africa deals -- deals that have been just around the corner for literally years and never materialize.
I am not suggesting that the Company has set out to deceive -- only that it is incredibly naive. I wish the focus could be on its accomplishments in developing and growing its core business. On that basis alone the share price should be much higher.

Announcement well received. Closes today at $1.24/sh.

Revenues were flat to down both quarters, and notwithstanding news of substantial o/s reduction, share price is down over the past 6 months. I recognize that the last two quarters are historically the Company's weakest, but I think it is fair to say the market was expecting better -- thus my use of the word disappointing. Certainly it is nice to know that the company can break even in a quarter when revenues declined year over year.
I am very long this stock, and so I would like to be very wrong about all this. Perhaps those who are encouraged by the last two quarters -- not disappointed -- can treat this as a major buying opportunity and drive the price of the stock back up. Volume is almost non-existent.
Let's hope so. The last 2 have been disappointing.

I own a bit, but bought at $6.14/sh. -- my usual elegant timing! Still nice to see it doing well.

Hopefully Bobwins can reverse the letters on another stock symbol and bring us another opportunity like this one!

Thanks to Bobwins for the mistake, and KIK for following up on the "wrong" symbol.
Incidentally, the coupon shows up as a discrete holding in my Schwab account so it is unlikely to be overlooked at Schwab.

Agreed. And nice quarter, don't you think.

I don't know why the 8-K could not have been worded this way.

I called Schwab this morning and was advised it might take up to 2 weeks for the money to reach my account. Schwab confirmed that their information shows the deal closing on 5/4. So, I plan to check back if I don't see the money by the end of next week.

I speculate that it is a precursor to some kind of deal. There must be some reason why 24 million shares had to be flushed out. Were those 24 million part of the float?
I am not suggesting it is hokey, just strange. And if it was a "pump," it was an unintelligible one.
I still don't understand this 8-K. It still doesn't make any sense. Has anyone learned anything about it? Did I miss a PR or further explanation from the Company? TIA.

Announcement about portfolio company Wrightspeed. Perhaps this will give the stock a boost. Current stock price difficult to understand.
AMMX:
Undoubtedly legit; perhaps naive.
I agree that there is more to this than we know. The deal makes no sense from the employee's standpoint. A PR might help.
AMMX:
Thanks. I own a little bit myself, and think it is a good value here. The failure to deliver on a much-ballyhooed Niger deal has not helped the Company's credibility. I have always liked the core business.
