So I get it. The space is completely out of favor. Look at ACTG. That's just where things stand now. I hope it can become a hot sector again but am doubtful. That said I think MARA can grow into a much higher Mkt cap just by executing its plan. I don't want this to become a blame short sellers sore loser thing. We should not do that. That said
This is like shooting fish in the barrel for a short here. With our small float and lack of real news. If there is a lot of naked shorting and seems like there is a good possibility of that (because I don't know where the shares are coming from) then the company should investigate and alert the proper brokers/authorities. NOT publicly but privately behind the scenes try and find out what may or may not be happening.
This is incredible to me. Is there any other explanation? Could there be shares shorted that are not reported, not legally borrowed?
The company insiders (and us too) should all be putting calls in to their broker asking their shares not be lent out
Until we know what it is worth to MARA the market won't care. Any ideas?
I don't think these German Injunctions are what some here think they are.
Is anyone really informed here on how they are granted and what they really mean to the defendant?
I see a lot of expenses
I am a long term investor who bought the stock below current levels. A 70% decline in the stock price (even while it does not seem to have a significant fundamental reason) is not a "bump in the road" it is a serious thing and we are now in dead money territory here.
No Bounce. The Death of Marathon right here
Or Bad news and they pile on more. We know how that looks
I think we are going to see something like 20% short interest when we get the next report
That CAN be a good thing but only if when good news hits
Why hasn't the short sale rule gone into effect with this stock?
This volume is astounding. Were are all these shares coming from
I agree we are at the mercy of the day traders that followed the volume from the last 2 days.
We still had some nice news this quarter and many other potential catalysts on the short term horizon.
Maybe we finally get the big volume blowoff we need today. But as you stated very well, none of us bought this stock last year or the year before because of the Schrader trial today
What's amazing to me is that we barely even knew about this trial back in December. Then in the last month it became everything for the company overnight. How did that happen?
What does that mean? Sell orders? Buy Orders?
What's next here??
Bad News?
Or prior to the stock dropping 60% from its highs
Hahahahahaha
Flyers. Have you been speaking to the others in attendance? what is the overall feeling?
What do we think. Quicker they return the better?
Well if they take the Stryker Nullity hearing off the calendar then we will know right? No reason they can't or shouldn't do that?
This is the Stryker case?
100K block @ $4.95
Lots of volume crossing here. Any news from the trial today?????
Any trial updates??
Yep. Appears we have a buyer too just took a lot of stock at the ask
Hopefully he has more to do than the seller. It would be nice to hold a good gain today and wishful thinking maybe even get follow through tomorrow
I think its important to note that Doug is not some promotional CEO inclined to say something like that. It goes against every grain in him. Put that quote in the context it was said. He has little experience running a public company he said and he also clarified that it was "his job" to make the buyers and holders look like geniuses and the sellers not so much.
That's as close to "Hypey" as Doug has ever got. Didn't seem comfortable saying it. Another reason I like the guy
Another 5%!!!!
We are all out of the loop here I am afraid
The Old Presentation had two Medtech/Stryker Nullity hearings the '260 and '765 scheduled for June 16 and July 21st
What happened to these? What does it mean that they are gone?
What happened to the Stryker trial? I thought that was scheduled for June or July of this year?
Because I would think a settlement in this case would be material to earnings and as a public company they would have to disclose. No?
They need to announce a settlement with an amount
Anyone have an update on the Celgene Markman?
I starting to think that the problem with the stock is exactly that. Everything seems to be going to trial. The business model is settlements but that is not happening. Instead the market sees cases going to trial and that means delays and risk. MARA seems to be finding it a bit more difficult to settle the bigger figures here and that may be the problem the market sees.
Doesn't change the quality and value of the patents and what they will ultimately be monetized for but the only explanation for the near term stock price I can think of
I would like to see Spangenberg get his new friend Kyle Bass to buy into 1mm shares with a filing disclosing the transaction end of June.
Outside a very large settlement and pre-announcement it will take something of that magnitude to get this thing back on track
That would NOT be a good idea for many reasons
It really stinks that they can not buy shares. That could really help nip this in the bud as well
Its not what I want it's what I think the market wants. Put a lowball number out there. At this point that's what we are pricing in anyway. Then over deliver.
I guess I worded that wrong. My point is They need to find a way to give the market an idea of the value of MARA here. Asset value, earnings potential whatever it may be. I didn't mean to imply that they should comment on specific cases but an overall general guidance on what they believe the potential is. Like they have done in the past
So far the conference presentations just revolve around the business plan. We have these events that drive settlements that drive revenue. But the market has no idea how to quantify that. Right now we are just a small cap co that loses money
