Guessing we'll see some class action PR's before the end of the day.
On a lighter note, they have no revenues to speak of or earnings so restating the financials isn't going to make them look worse. Nonetheless, the reputational damage may be hard to put behind them.
My concern is that with this leadership transition, delays in execution, shareholder lawsuits etc they won't have enough cash to reach cash flow positive and will have to dilute at a very depressed share price.
ELMS Shocking PR released tonight. Sorry to anyone I may have influenced to take a position.
MRNA R59 I was merely opining about how to play a stock--not on the merits of being vaccinated. You're the one who jumped into that. I have no history nor intention of making this board a vaccine forum.
Interesting this is bouncing along with EV sector despite no certification news that was first "expected" in December and then in January. Buyers don't seem concerned that it's January 31 and no update from company.
MRNA I think it will be borne out that the mRNA technology is unsafe as evidenced by huge number of vaccine injury reports in VAERS compared to all other vaccines combined and because of a staggering 40% increase in all cause mortality in the US for the first 10 months of 2021 compared to 2019--less than half attributed to Covid. MRNA is sitting on a huge pile of cash but its entire pipeline is based on mRNA technology. I expect they will start making acquisitions with their cash to drug development with a future. If I were going to play it, I would short it even after this huge pullback.
RIVN at $50 now down 72% from its recent high of $179 and still looks overvalued to me
But on the dip has turned to sell on the bump
EV stocks including my ELMS getting absolutely hammered today. Don't know why.
LMB has been showing recent strength in this crappy market on no news I can see. Anyone still own or have any thoughts?
BottomBounce--Don't go away mad, just go away.
CPPMF reported more strong drilling results yesterday in a bullish PR and copper price climbing recently despite extreme "risk off" market. Still really like this one as a long term hold in this unsettling market.
Makes sense. Thanks R59.
R59 Airline stocks still beaten down. If Covid burns out quickly as predicted, maybe a significant sector rebound?
The night is darkest just before dawn...
The stock action is such a tease. I see we both picked it in PSL now now it HAS to go up!??
My wife says I overthink things and I tell her 20 reasons why she's wrong...
I know this is paranoid thinking but RIVN lives in a different zip code with its nearly $100 B market cap and huge contract with AMZN which must be powerful in DC. I worry the NHTSA might be getting pressured to slow walk ELM"s certification to diminish their first mover advantage.
All EVs up today but ELMS leading the pack. Impressive volume too. Don't see any news. Maybe a pump?
Puff PR today with no update on certification. Still two more days until year end, but increasingly looks like management won't execute on their timetable.
Value--Any concern about lack of announcement about full certification? Did they say December?
MESO You might put this on your biobust list after today's news and drop to all time low. Don't know their cash position.
CPPMF provided update on Australian mine. Looked positive to me but included some delay and higher expenses which the market apparently doesn't like. Overall value of the mine was increased substantially with higher assumptions for copper price and AUS $ fx.
Yesterday's rise on low volume is hopefully a sign that tax loss selling has run its course. Also, latest short data through November to be released today which may (or not) account for some of the recent weakness. Agree that recent risk off market sentiment may be biggest recent negative driver. To me ELMS is a cheap value play which I'm hoping more investors appreciate in the near term.
Blood in the streets
Wow. All EV's getting hammered today but still what terrible action! Can't average down any more as already oversized position for me. Wish I was starting to build it now ??
Rally fizzling fast
ELMS will deliver more vehicles this year than RIVN with its +$100 B market cap. RIVN led with its truck which will have TSLA, GM and Ford selling competing models soon. RIVN has 100,000 order from AMZN for delivery vans through 2030. While that may take the largest potential buyer off the table for ELMS, it might also pin RIVN down to fulfill that order and make them less competitive seeking additional orders. I like having RIVN as a competitor and a comp, as it will get ELMS more visibility and credibility IMO.
ELMS After selling off on low volume all day, it spiked on huge volume to end green in a down market. Don't see any news but tomorrow should be interesting.
We could really use an encouraging PR this week!
I'm down because ELMS continues to struggle (great buy here in the 7.80s IMO). Hoping it's mostly tax loss selling that subsides soon. Fortunately, CPPMF is bouncing hard so I'm only slightly red on the day.
Continuing to add below $8. Cost now down to $8.12 but waaaaay over my skis. Plan to sell some of it down on the next pop.
FONR can't get a bonr
It's unnerving making a value investment in the momentum EV sector where stocks rise and fall dramatically as group without regard to fundamentals. Hopefully, by the first half of next year the market will be more discerning and ELMS has worked through its kinks and ramped production setting the stage for a multi bagger from here.
ELMS Bmrboy Compare ELMS market cap of $1B to LCID at $75B and RVIN at $110B. All 3 have just commenced production and focused on different segments of the EV market. ELMS has first mover advantage for delivery vans even though RVIN has huge contact with AMZN to supply vans beginning in 2023. ELMS has plenty of cash to get to cash flow positive by end of 2022 per their projection which mitigates the risk of dilution. Short term they're having supply chain issues from China affecting both the timing and cost of delivery but IMO have enough of a cash runway to work through that issue especially since they've established a team in China dedicated to supply chain issues. They've only announced one firm order so far but I think they want to ensure they can ramp production before announcing more.
Management seems very experienced, credible and dedicated to building out an organization that can leverage the market opportunity in their EV segment which is huge. Even though I usually think of value plays as low PE stocks and ELMS doesn't fit that, I still think of it as a value play when comparing its modest current market cap to its market cap potential.
I'm playing elms as a value play but unfortunately the market is playing it as a momentum play!
LCID Bmrboy check out the market cap and set up of ELMS compared to LCID, RVIN and other EV highflyers. Great risk reward IMO.
FONR Michael You're brave to make a "last wave" Covid prediction. I got out of the Covid prediction business after being wrong so many times.
