Yea mstoneinv, that kinda sums it up.
This is NOT an investment any more than a set of golf clubs is an investment for me. Neither of which are likely to yield a "hole in one". That doesn't mean I wont head out every weekend hoping for a hole in one. Many of the golfers around have much advice for me.
-I should have never bought those clubs because the guy at the store lied when he said they would extend my drive
-they are a waste of money because ill never win a tournament, ever, even though I have been trying for ten years.
- there are much more expensive golf clubs that have been proven in tournament play and i should not try to play with my cheap clubs.
Luckily for me I payed for those clubs with my own money and the weekend entertainment was worth every penny. I don't need to win golf tournaments to feed my family so its very stress free.
I think the information that has been provided by LBSR management has been interesting and I have learned a lot over the last few years reading/researching said info. I think JB's biggest flaw (if you can call it that) is that he is absolutely NOT a salesman. JB is a geologist and as far as I can tell a pretty accomplished one. So he is a geologist ATTEMPTING to be a salesman and that is very apparent. Lets send a car salesman to find a mine and then dissect his geology. I'm hoping that Brett Gross can help fill that gap and move the project forward. Being bad at selling something is different than deceiving and Lying. it doesn't even matter if Im wrong, LBSR is one of my more enjoyable HOBBIES. Good luck to everyone here. I think we are getting close to finally being scratch golfers.

All the negativity seems to revolve around bad management. Many points made are even eyebrow raising/concerning. But I'm not betting on management skills I'm betting on minerals in the ground (I know people will tear that comment apart). If management can make that next step, and get past the sales pitch and into the real data, all will be forgotten. The clues are all there, they have just been clouded by nonsense. Even gitreal has mentioned that the ground warrants drilling. We are close. The more I read the more excited I am that core drilling will be used IF IF IF we ever drill. Should give us a much clearer picture of what's behind those clouds. Should be close to the end of the quiet period any day now. GLTA

I look at it a little differently than you (gitreal) and Leif.
I think JB understands what he said and what it means. My thought was that times were/are pretty desperate and he decided that the ends justified the means.
IF drills turn and results are great, it will be said that this was only made possible by "keeping the lights on" I don't think management is in a do or die mode where nothing matters but drilling.
Nobody... (Maybe some I guess) would be happy if LBSR closed up shop and moved on without a fight.
I agree some of the NR's are really reaching but when you whole heartedly believe in something (in this case H.M.) you never quit and you do whatever it takes.
I know next to nothing about mining and geology and still could see many of these things for what they are.
I'll admit the "north pipes deal" fooled me. I'm hoping that was just a BIG mistake and lack of foresight, not a bold faced lie. Aside from that the other stuff doesn't bug me.
Even the mine finders program was an interesting idea that I never looked at as anything more than an idea.
Do what it takes JB. Get drills turning! GLTA

Don't you worry, I do PLENTY of Google and wiki searching. Gitreal has just always been polite to me and is clearly knowledgeable in not only geology but in the mining sector. It's clear we disagree on many things (gitreal and I) about LBSR and even on investing but I personally would rather get facts/opinions from someone who disagrees with me. It helps give me ideas and perspectives. Sometimes even helps me google things I would have not previously considered. There are so many things here I have scratched my head at while reading in news releases but the potential is there in my opinion. Even the blown out share structure will matter little IF we can get some positive drilling results. Many circumstances here are not ideal but I'm betting that drilling will happen and we won't need silly pictures of machines that look like a mining bat mobile to move shares.
Next geology/mining question.
If the copper percentage zapper ray gun was used properly what would that data look like? Should they have taken reading on 100 points over a gridded area and averaged them? I get that pointing at a gold nugget and saying that the claim has 100% gold is silly at best but the instrument seems pretty advanced. How SHOULD it be used and readings reported?
I also literally laughed out loud when someone pointed out that it was a stock photo and the guy was holding a auto repair hammer...
I'm holding not folding! Can't wait for cores! GLTA

Another great informative post I have come to expect. I genuinely appreciate it. If all the data you look for not only existed currently but also was public, the share price would be significantly different. That's the home run shot I have been talking about. The monster gains are always an early guess that requires some luck. The funny thing is it feels nearly impossible to ride them all the way up. I'm always "sure" I jumped ship at the top while I watch the climb continue. Don't get me wrong, I've ridden many a ship to the bottom "sure" it would turn around. I'm really just a gambler that hides my addiction behind the term "investing". if by chance LBSR does take off I have promised myself I'm riding this one "to da moon"
Thanks again gitreal, I have a bunch of geology questions but I'll spread them out in hopes of actually getting answers. I'm feeling good about this one, call it a hunch! GLTA

Can someone link me to the rules on posting? I have had a couple posts removed so I want to try and abide by the rules as close as possible!
Gitreal,
I have generally always agreed with your criticism of the 22% copper readings and how that's misleading, but I was looking at the other board and something caught my eye that I was hoping you could explain in more detail. The caption describes that the "occurrences are along fractures in brecciated limestone"
I had previously assumed that the green blobs themselves were the big deal but this sounds like maybe they are just an indication of something.
I know I'm probably reading too much into this but I thought you might be able to shed some light on this. Thanks for the info. GLTA

Hi MAC, Your posts are confusing to me. Although there are a few sour grapes on this board I don't really see gitreal as one of them (not that he needs me defending him) but this isn't really an I'm right and you're wrong discussion. Which type of drilling to use has to be decided with many variables taken into account. I personally believe that management did not take the decision lightly but rather made a very well thought out and calculated decision (whether they tell us why or not). Anybody who disagrees with that is allowed to and I personally like seeing opposing arguments. All of us can look up types of drilling and decide what we think is right but there may very well be more than one RIGHT answer. Lets try not to let a couple guys that have lost large sums of money on LBSR ruin a multi sided discussion. I think everyone here is excited for this Quiet period to end and I personally think the next couple months are going to be fun for many of us. Maybe it will even get Bella sharing pictures of his Peruvian coffee farm again. I miss happy Bella. I even remember one time when it ran up into the .04 range and even Banks seemed genuinely positive and excited. Funny how making money really changes the mood around here. GLTA

I agree, and I would say that discovery is not simply the goal but the ONLY thing that matters at this point in time. Thank you for the more detailed explanation. That's the kind of thing I enjoy about reading these boards.
What is the cost difference with both types of drilling? Are we talking double or triple the cost? It does seem like a few more holes COULD be more advantageous than more detailed core results (at this point in the process)
Hopefully the cores will yield more detailed data that you (along with the rest of us) are looking for. Thanks again.
RipCity
I guess I would have to understand the pros and cons of Rotary vs Core drilling and the difference in cost of each to really have an opinion on it. In general I lean toward not doing anything halfway i.e. doing the diamond core drilling but, at this point in the game ANY drilling at all is a move in the right direction so if the only limiting factor is that we can not yet afford to do the core drilling then absolutely we should pursue rotary.
I know J.B. mentioned that rotary can give you false reading or false intersects due to dragging material against the hole walls, etc. Any variable that can alter or give false results should be eliminated in my opinion (of course depending on cost difference). I have to believe that these are all things management has considered and discussed at great lengths. GLTA
RipCity
Thanks for the info, That scenario makes a of logical sense if drilling ever happens. drill 9 or 10 holes at 600-800 feet (leaving them all open) then use that data to decide which/if any holes to drill deeper on. I would guess management will have quite a few plan B or C type scenarios when moving forward on such a small scale plan. thanks GR.
RipCity
I am probably using the term "Data" far too loosely. I should say the only Information/material that management has released. I was referring to Ztem and various geochem anomaly maps. Even the maps of surrounding mines are not useful in any real capacity other than (look its all around us). Time will tell, and when/if they do release real data I look forward to seeing the meaning, validity and relevance of said data discussed on this and the other board.
Do you know if it requires a different drill rig to go deeper than 2000'? It seems that the added cost to go deeper would be relatively cheap in the grand scheme of things and would eliminate any "what if" scenarios.
RipCity
No, I agree with you. I don't think that the lack of data is any sort of strategy by management at all. I Just meant to say the lack of data is what makes the stock fall into my "lottery play" price range. I think a lot of what management does release feels like grasping at straws to keep the doors open long enough to come up with data worth releasing. Drilling these first two holes could finally be the data that management is looking for. I am confident that if LBSR had any real data that was eye opening to investors it would be released. They believe the real value is deep and the only information that has been released is data that management believes supports that claim. I think of it like looking for a house to flip. If the house looked good and was in tip top shape there would be no value to gain. Again, we are all here for different reasons and with different expectations. This is just how I see it. GLTA
RipCity
gitreal,
Thats sort of what I mean, bear with me here while I try to make sense. IF all the data was released (that you describe) and the results were good-great. The share price would no longer be anywhere near the price it is now. For people who bought in during the Alaska time frame that are sitting on huge losses I understand the want (for more info) but for me who has this stock in a portfolio simply as a "homerun" play, this is exactly what I am looking for. I really enjoy keeping a couple wild card stocks on hand and LBSR fits the bill. It may baffle you but if I'm being honest I have taken long shots on much worse stocks with much less potential. Like I said in another post, If the new drill plan becomes another "Mine Finders" or "NPSP" I will wash my hands of LBSR and not regret any of it. I think we are all here for different reasons and some people fail to realize that. GLTA
RipCity
gitreal, even though it most likely annoys you that I am willing to basically blindly follow LBSR into possible drilling, I really appreciate your posts and insight and its clear that you know what you are talking about. I think our perspective is drastically different simply due to your heavy knowledge base in geology. The fact for me is that all these problems you mention are the exact reason the share price is so low and also the reason this could yield giant gains. For me the price is low enough to take the chance. GLTA
RipCity
well said Rich. People complain all day about what management does or doesn't release, as if we are running this company. It seems pretty easy to not invest here if you believe it to be fraudulent or dishonest. I personally am excited for these next couple weeks. GLTA.
RipCity
Yea, I get what you are saying. I (like all of us) have no real idea about any of this but was giving my thoughts on the question that (gitreal) posted. I like when I see people sharing thoughts and ideas on this board so I was just trying to contribute.
RipCity
I am a little confused. I guess I said something funny. This is just how I see it. Why did you put "millions of shares" in quotes? I have averaged down to well under .01/share so millions of shares were relatively cheap. In my opinion, not releasing data is not "misleading" if that data is irrelevant to the end goal. If management announces that drilling is moving forward, I think I can double my money on speculation alone. Maybe I'll lose it all but I'm willing to risk a few thousand dollars on that chance. I hope this post has you "ROTFL"
GLTA
-RipCity
I think if it was delineating a different anomaly a different color outline would have been used. More detail would be great on exactly what criteria and how anomaly was defined.
My take on the lack of details all around with this company is that they have all the surface and sample data on hand but that it is average at best. I believe they have not released the data because it could hurt the cause when management clearly believes all the real value will be found at great depth (which they have no data for) it would be like describing what fish are at the surface while trying to convince people to come on your DEEP sea fishing charter.
With that being said I would almost guarantee that management has loads of data from samples and outcrops which they are using to formulate a plan moving forward.
It is still very possible that nothing will ever come of H.M. but 9 or 10 Two thousand foot holes should make that decision for us. Holding a few million shares is worth the risk for me but even my patience is wearing thin and if there is not significant progress made toward drilling by the first couple months of the year, I will probably throw it in with little regret. time will tell. GLTA.
-RipCity
I see what your are saying but I do not believe there are 6 colors of boundaries. I always read this as 2 Blue boundaries (Mo Anomaly). I interpreted this as Mo not being present in the inner most circle, meaning Mo is sort of a doughnut shaped anomaly. could be wrong but thats how I read it.
-RipCity
Why does it show up as a buy? (it should be apparent that i'm young and have no idea what i'm doing)
is the large volume today a sign of anything?
thanks for always knowing whats going on Eli.
a buy for almost 6 million shares!!! Let the speculation begin.
Thank you Eli,
good to know. I was just copying over from the other board as something to talk about that could POSSIBLY be a positive spin. do you have any positive thoughts here or just the expected "we will have to wait and see" ?
I just hope the share price can hold out.
Follow from VP
Further to that post, "The quiet period precedes the introduction of a company into the capital market. During that time, the amount of public exposure and hype must be minimized to hinder any potential interference with SEC efforts to evaluate its filings and the release of any information which may cause investors to "jump the gun" on valuations and expectations for the company. The SEC's intention is to create a level playing field for all investors in the capital market, ensuring that all have the same information about the company when it goes out for sale on the market."
http://www.investinganswers.com/keywords/waiting/quiet-period-1765
To be clear, I was not meaning "quiet period" in this precise legal context, but who knows?
from VP on the other board
From my post earlier today, "BTW, the company is strangely quite. This could suggest they have to be, because they are nearing an important announcement."
There's an adage in this business that suggests, "No news is bad news". It explains why when the market is looking for news, silence tends to see a company's share price drop.
In this case, the more I think about it, I can't help but believe that what I quoted above is what's happening here. SEC regulations require a "quite period" of a company that is about to share news that can impact the share price when the news is released, lest anything they mention could in any way be construed to be a benefit to some few shareholders and not the whole lot of them. A company can't even say they are preparing a summary of what happend at a presentaion, IF THERE IS GOOD NEWS IN IT.
Otherwises, I don't understand why at this point there has not been a generic release on the presentations in Manila. I.e., "we presented and had favorable responses, with discussions continuing by phone and video conference..."
Too quite, too quite.

you're friend?
haha. worth a shot.
try posting a concise productive question on the other board. they usually get answered.
I believe its been over a year since we have seen this one. Thanks for all your great DD and contributions to this board banks.
haha I agree, I thought the smirk on my face could be seen around the globe with that "Thank you". We all know why we are here.
I have followed this stock for a long time and hold a fair amount. I can see validity in both sides of the "argument" that has gone on here for as long as I have followed. To be honest I don't really understand the toxic side of the argument, I mean I get guys like Banks that are too deep to exit and bitter about it, but even he does not gain from his own toxicity. I would like to believe the people who "invest" here know what they are buying and it performs exactly like what it is. You get what you pay for. As long as LBSR exists it will have a certain potential that people will choose to take a chance on, hopefully knowing that money may go away forever with no return.
That being said I would like to thank the "millionaires" of the group as I feel you played a role in the current price and enabling me to join the million share club. As far as stocks under a penny go this is the best I have found (and believe you me, I have looked). I may lose my investment and I'm ok with that because I, like everyone here should, know what I have invested in.
Good luck in Manila Mr. Brisco, and rip city baby!
WOW what?
wow to more dilution or wow to people saying it is good news?
while I'm asking questions, help me understand a few things please.
In the news release in November LBSR stated.
"The Company has executed a letter agreement subject to formal legal drafting" while talking about North Pipes. what EXACTLY does this mean and why have we not heard more about this?
realistically could we hear about this soon and what would it mean for LBSR?
RIP CITY
Sounds great. We toured coffee plantations in southern Mexico and El salvador. If LBSR does what we all believe it will the wife and I will probably go back to traveling. I feel like this investment is worth the risk even if my only gain is the years I have spent dreaming of what I will do when it takes off. Im in my twenties so I got nothin but time.
Trust in JB.
Request: Can somebody chart the share price of LBSR vs number of posts by our local MM over the last two years? I think we could use the correlation as a trading tool. Thanks and fingers crossed for newsday tuesday.
P.s. 777, I recently spent 6 months traveling through central america. Have you checked out El Salvador? I loved it there and it could be perfect for just the place you have in mind. I have many contacts there if you are interested.
GLTA
Good volume Early. Thoughts?
I'm curious how in depth this "mentoring program" is? and If the program reaches beyond mine finding to mine development and implementation?
In the wake of the mine accident in Turkey many middle eastern countries could be interested sooner rather than later in this program taking shape. (if it goes beyond mine finding)
This accident could even lead to new international mining laws and will place a premium on skilled and educated employees. This program alone could be HUGE for LBSR if they were at the forefront of this education and were responsible for turning out the highest level of students in the world.
Stay long my friends, RIPCITY

I thought we would be going the other way today. Guess its time to add.
My friend I have been a lurker for a long time here (I have owned SSOL since before the reverse split) and I currently own about 1% of the total outstanding shares. Not only do I trust in this company but I believe whole heartedly you are correct.... And we wait.
GLTA
Banks you should post this 10 year old article a few more times we have not seen it enough... did I spread the sarcasm on thick enough?
Its not an easy feat to find financing on this scale. I personally would be disappointed if JB grabbed the first carrot that somebody dangled in front of him. For long term success we need the right partner and to be patient to get this done right. the first drilling sites are very important and not something to dive into until the company is positive they will yield the outcome they need to be successful. Everybody here should understand the risk involved and patience is a requirement for a company at these stages. If it was easy everybody would be rich!
LBSR is on the right path and we will know by the end of the year what we are sitting on here.
GLTA
I hope that this is not the $2.5 mil project that was mentioned but if not why not mention both or just this one IF this one is bigger than $2.5? My guess is that this is the project mentioned which makes the real question how are we doing this so cheaply? Or is SSOL simply designing and installing?
I personally am very impressed with SSOL for being awarded this contract it says a lot about the direction we are heading.
GLTA
Any news on the Lawsuits today? If we win the remaining lawsuits along with this new contract we can sit back and watch this thing run!
