Dr. you are right on the money. I loved Star Trek. On a realated note, Howard Stern loves to goof on George Takei. Maybe he'll get a hold of the guest spot and talk about it to his 3 million or so listeners. Howard talking about Q is not a bad thing.
hi skunks. I just don't like to see people spinning their wheels. It is not productive. Guess that is the Econ-major in me talking.
I agree wholeheartedly. Trust yourself though. That is the only one you can count on.
If you analyze the reviews of Q and those of Logo and Here, it appears that content may be favorable for Q. Their blend of original programming makes them unique in this market. That should serve them well down the road. Consumers will tire quickly of a channel if they are not continually making things "fresh".
Granted, I have not seen it first-hand, so I can't give a review, but the law of large numbers is in effect.
Never seen any of these stations. It is creeping closer to where I live, so I am hoping that Q gets here soon.
What will be the fruit of your labor if you spend all that time researching posts? Is it really worth it? I could care less if he owns this stock or not.
We learned that:
this is a pink sheet stock and that we are not entitled to know every last detail about the company (although they make many attempts to do so).
Was that not evident before? I just don't understand where the disconnect is with people and this stock.
Lately I have been reading how F.O. supposedly said he would not raise the a/s without running it by the shareholders. That is completely false. He said that in reference to the o/s. That was confirmed in those emails. How do people get that wrong? Selective hearing?
Look at this from a hundred different angles and it is still going to be the same. A pink sheet stock that has a lot of questions surrounding it. Ever hear of the assumption of risk doctrine? You can't build a house next to a golf course and then sue the golf course because golf balls keep landing in your yard. You can't buy a pink sheet stock and then whine about it when it doesn't behave the way you want it too. Period.
By the way... I hit reply to your post, but I was just speaking generally, not directly to you. Just wanted to clarify.
If you don't want to explain that is fine. However, to say that the pps is directly related to investor confidence begs some explanation. Because, as you know, this is a pink sheet stock and we have essentially no knowledge about the structure of the company. If we can agree that the shareholders have very little information, then the level of confidence can't be that great to begin with. This stock is/was a gamble for anyone who put money into it. There are many variables which likely have an effect on the pps. I don't see that investor confidence is the major culprit. If it was directly related to the pps, how do you explain the run up to .028? The company was not doing much back then and it took off. Now they are adding carriage left and right. To me, that instills confidence.
PPS directly related to investor confidence? Please explain.
Fenian, where in Ireland?
Why is IB here ALL the time? Why does he always bring up negatives? Why does he always bring up old news? It is so obvious that he is a day trader and preys on those that are a little unsure of themselves.
Richard has replied to all of my emails in a timely manner. Not sure why he hasn't gotten back to yours. His average response time to mine is 4 days.
If you are going to whine EVERY day, you are sad.
cabo, my sentiments exactly. This board is I-whine during the day. For the life of me I can't understand how people can come here and post such negative things DAY AFTER DAY. It gets really old. I hope that they are not internalizing those feelings. good thread tonight!
You are out of your mind if you think the board was better after skunks left. This board turned ultra negative really fast. No info about programming was coming out here, just a bunch of similar personality types who all of a sudden banded together in their shared misery, sharing their thoughts about how Q was screwing them. That is/was completely non-productive.
Who does? it is tough to bring a business to fruition. Getting back to my original point, would you rather not be deceived and have a company that is going nowhere? Or have the owner do what he thinks he needs to do in order to grow the company. Did you want Frank to ask us if it was okay for him to buy the film library, or buy the studio? I'm fine with their acquisitions because they are smart moves. If they were just lining their pockets with money that would be another story, but they are buying tangible things.
froy, you are a lost cause.
Most of the people crying about the pps are not seeing the big-picture. Would you rather have a piece of crap company worth 2 cents a share, that might not survive... or would you like to have a company that is growing and establishing itself as a legitimate network that is currently valued very low but has the potential to do big things with its value? If you would prefer the former, then why not take your money elsewhere and just play the momentum of other penny stocks. You HAVE to be looking at the long-term if you own this stock. If you aren't you are going to become a very bitter person.
Frank needs to reach a point where selling stock is not an option for financing. It appears to be on track. If they can take that out of the picture, then they can use revenue to cover expenses, not shares. Until they see some cash flow, the selling of shares is going to be an option for him. It has to be.
Very cool bugzie. Good post!
froy, how many different ways are you going to say that? We know what the deal is here. More cities is good news. Look at the bright side and the long-term picture, not the short-term. Vision is needed with this stock.
Nice post drumchops!
skunks, some people on here are OBSESSED with you! haha Don't you love this attention? :)
The show that intrigues me is the one with Scott Withers and Honey Labrador. It looks like a unique concept.
Plus, I believe that by watching the network one can learn a little more about the direction of the company. They seem to give "clues". Maybe that is a bad choice of words, but watching the network is a terific research method.
skunksyard, nice to see you back and posting information about the network programming. I would love to see what it looks like, but I'll have to wait I suppose. Anyhow, welcome back.
Can you add to your list something about contract negotiations? I'd love to know what issues they must hammer out before reaching an agreement. Is it content, revenue sharing, subscription price, insurance/indemnification language, or other things that can prolong negotiations? I would not want specifics, but rather a general answer to the question so that we know that when he says that Q is in negotiations we have some idea of what they actually are up against. If it seems like a bad idea, then please disregard. Thanks.
She lives in Massachusetts. Kind of far. I live in CA and I couldn't get time off to do it from here.
Skunks was able to provide a summary of what Q is broadcasting. That is extremely valuable because the comments that the Q talent make on air sometimes gives insight into the growth of the company. I really wish she was still posting here, but now I check RB for that stuff and just check here once in a blue moon. Thanks to all those that went to the open house. Sounds like it was a good time. Looking forward to the CC next week.
If doctoall confirms it I'll believe it. Otherwise, Davidjanas is not that reliable.
I've monitored this board for quite a while now, posting occasionally. Whereas the quantity of messages is just about the same without skunks, the quality is not as good. She brought actual information about the network, and provided insight into the connections between all of the players. From what I see here, nobody has the channel. Now, this board is just a non-stop bitchfest.
Is it not possible that Q made a bundle on the run-up to .028 and then cashed out a whole lot to fund themselves?
Is this sort of thing not evidence of his working toward that end? I would say it is.
Not sure, but this might give you an answer for Rochester. I have to go to work, not time to look up info for Syracuse. I did find several web pages dedicated to GLBT in Syracuse so that is telling.

You don't understand how this is working. I remember last year around May when everyone was saying "why aren't we nationwide yet". That was an unrealistic question then, and asking it now is still unrealistic.
It just isn't going to be like flipping a switch and BAM we go national. They are slowly proving themselves, and that is the only way they can progressively add market share. A grassroots movement which generates demand is what they need to show the big carriers that it is worthy of national carriage.
"We have been looking for just the right blend of news and entertainment to satisfy our growing contingency of gay and lesbian viewers, who have been actively requesting such a network, and QTN offers an exciting programming package that more than answers that call."
That is great news.
Part of me wishes that this thing would just go down to .0000 just to weed out a lot of people. Kind of like a do-over.
mcfly, because he is a "DayTrader / Lover ... " (from his profile).
Who would you suggest? Frank is a gay man, who is in touch with the gay community. He knows the market. Who else could serve this segment in a better way? Not a straight person, that is for sure.
I think that calling for him to step down is just a means to get back at him for what people perceive as his disloyalty to investors. It is not a smart move at this stage of the game.
