Anybody know the overhead cost of being listed in a stock exchange? Is it couple millions or 10s of millions?
Thanks
We also don't know whether insiders are buying or selling, do we?
Imagine, if you were an employee of this company and were seeing first hand how it is progressing wouldn't you buy it? Perhaps, the executives are the buyers of what's little available before news hit the wire. Wishful thinking? Perhaps. Is it reasonable? Yes, I would buy it, why wouldn't they?
Denny,
Thank you for all your analysis.
Wow! Even assuming 10X lower valuation would mean ~500M. That would be great!
I am actually more interested in what that money could do for the company in the future --> no more liquidity mismatch, removal of going-concern doubt, much more leg room to take risks (& collect rewards), new business initiatives, NYID approval, Up-listing, etc...
Hence, I am on the glass half-full side. In this case, it seems to be filling to the brim!
Cheers,
Denny,
For once, SNOWMAN wasright about short selling data. OTC website has the data. SYRCF short interest has been very stable around 880-890K shares for the past two years. So, there is not much movement there. We'll know soon when they announce this month's data whether recent PPS increase was due to the short covering.
Regardless, as you and others have diligently presented, the cat is out of the bag on Syncora. No scare tactics can get us off this rocket!.
Cheers,
I sure have.
I have a thought experiment, please bear with me!
For the low volume, could one hypothesis be?
I suspect majority of share owners are a- YOU guys who are in it for the long haul and b) institutions/creditors. Both should not/are not selling for the obvious reasons- there is a light at the end of the tunnel and this is the time to collect the gold coins. Any other share is probably coming from MMs. Since that, I assume, is limited in quantity, no serious buyers can buy significant amount without paying a premium. That in itself should discourage any day-traders for a quick buck as well. Following that logic, it stands to reason that we are seeing an accumulation by (a) and (b). Since both (a) and (b) are aware of the big potential already, this low volume days should continue until a big pop happens such that some holders from (a) and (b) can be convinced to release their shares. Hence, this hypothesis is correct, then there is one reasonable outcome here: A big pop is coming!
Cheers,
Hey Richie,
Based on your analysis, it looks to me we are going to test 1.90 area, technically speaking. Do you concur?
I feel it is waiting for a spark to launch! Perhaps, the CC in two weeks will do it.
Snowball,
I am sorry I doubted you for so long. I have been recently made privy to certain information that convinced me that you are absolutely right!
Keep up the good work.
Working the same angle! Relentlessly...
Thanks Denny. You always makes these complicated topics very easy to digest for us.
Here is the transcript of the call:
http://seekingalpha.com/article/4007924-syncora-holdings-sycrf-ceo-susan-comparato-q2-2016-results-earnings-call-transcript?app=1&auth_param=bangb:1bu89gi:174853b830924e3b61155276e7d51175&uprof=45&utoken=e65e3e0279448525ef2fa50d312610b0
I am listening to the call now. By no means I completely understand the accounting language. So, I warn that my opinion on this matter has very little value. My top readings are:
Puerto Rico is seen as "still materially significant", Mike Corbally
Liquidity mismatch--> steady decline, top priority
Relisting? they will consider, no definitive plan yet
Greenpoint case? aggressively pursuing
Leverage target? managing as appropriate?
Lots of strategy talk....
86.5 mil shares for 5% ownership
As a side note, I paid attention to the psychology of the call. Sometimes, it is not what they say but rather how they say it, how comfortable they were explaining difficult subjects. They sounded quite confident and comfortable. Take it for what it is worth.
Does anybody else see an inverted head and shoulders pattern? If materializes price is pointing to 1.80-1.90 area which is conveniently the 52 week high. I am sure it is nothing but fun to dream.
I should have corrected the names of the axis but I am sure you get the idea
X-Axis: "Time" (continous) or "Each Settlement" (dicrete)
Y-Axis: Share Price
I guess. The board was very quiet today. Have a nice weekend.
yeah... it sounds like 0.36*37=$13.3
Looks like another case is closed: $37 mil
This time is different. If people are waiting for prices to drop to get in, that opportunity may not come along anymore. The sentiment has changed and the viability of the company is not in doubt anymore. My humble reading of the situation.
Cheers.
I feel it is getting ready for a move again.
There is big accumulation going on under the surface. Some serious amount of money coming in now.
Stating the obvious I know. It is comforting nevertheless.
Denny,
Appreciate your taking the time and educating me.
Best,
I'll come out and say right away: No matter how much I read about this I don't fully understand the impact of this bill to Syncora. I would appreciate your analysis.
Best...
I hope you guys are alright in the market today. Sincerely...
There has been an obvious price action that brings the price down. Is it distribution by parties who know more than us (me, very likely; Denny? probably not!) or short selling for whatever reason or market makers who are always in the know and senses big move is coming and trying to shake the tree? I can't tell anymore. Could anybody tell? Let's be honest here friends to friends: are you guys selling?
Good to hear from you Irish. You had disappeared for a while.
What do you think the possible deals may be?
Denny,
Very comforting. Appreciate for taking the time to educate me.
Denny,
Another silly question: if, let's say the worst happened and there is a liquidity mismatch, could the company borrow the required money from regular channels such as from a bank or by selling bonds?
Thanks
Got it. Thank you Denny.
Question: Regarding the liquity mismatch in the report, how much mismatch is the company talking about?
Thanks
I have a warming sensation. Butterflies in my stomach. It is almost like falling in love. And, if/when this happens, Denny, I'll appoint you as my best man!
You're welcome.
This pig could be end of you.
I am in the market to buy more. My order does not show up at Level II, though. It seems to me that there is a systematic way of hiding buy orders even for retail investors as well.
There is ~$0.5/shr due to just these properties. Am I correct on this?
http://www.crainsdetroit.com/article/20160501/NEWS/160509983/soccer-stadium-plan-could-score-payoff-for-syncora
I'd say we have Denny to keep them honest!
Cheers,
As promised, I am adding to my holdings today included.
Cheers
Great!
If Goldman covers Syncora and tells you to sell, it is one more reason to buy more. Thank you for confirming our conviction. SON!!!
I am just hoping the share price stays at this level couple more days. More allocation of resources will be coming from me. My logic is simply this:
- Anybody who invested in this stock 5-6 years ago must have been crazy. There were lots of uncontained risk, plenty of unknowns, many variables could go wrong at any time, no guarantee for future.
- Year after year, this company stood the test of time and stress
- Yet, the market is not pricing it correctly
- There is now a potential big upside
- Almost weekly now, we are seeing upgrades in its portfolio
- Management is branching into other money making investments
- Many other side benefits coming down the pipe that I will discount not to sound like I am doing a sale pitch.
All in all, all those crazy people turned out to be right and I command you all for that. There is more to come from this company.
Cheers Guys,
Is it as good as I read? I really want to hear your take Denny and others'.
Here is my take:
There is no way that I know off to double check these numbers but I don't know why it would not be correct. So, in the absence of any contrary evidence we assume it is.
Last couple days, the price-action felt like it is short covering: reasonable volume but not much price movement either way. Without any positive news, the price could be pulled down easily little by little to shake loose shares. If I am right, then we should oscillate between ~$0.88 and ~$1.2 for a while. If I am not right, I am quitting this all together. Nooo, just kidding.
