Current market activities:
Sold 60% of my ETCC. Will watch tomorrow first to see if I sell the rest. That $85 million contract is pretty significant at their market cap.
Adding RWCRF and RMLFF.
I put together an Excel list of all Caveat Emptor stocks that are potentially getting the CE removed soon. Out of all the stocks i've looked at, ATVK and NTAC seem to be two that could experience a little bit of fervor.
ETCC - had a big score on this today. Was buying all the way down into the .20s. Luckily I sold on the last runup also.
As much as I don't like the new SEC rule, there are some opportunities to be had as a result of it.
You can only buy CE w/ brokers in Canada and Europe.
You guys able to buy this currently w/ your broker?
IVC files for BK. DOH! I was actually up quite a bit in one of my retirement accounts on this one. Going to be interesting to see what happens to the shareholders. This one could sting a bit.
Don't feel too bad on MIND, larry - I only got 305 shares at .4210 but was bidding a lot more. If I just put .43 or .44. Always a lot of only ifs....
Nelson - couldn't agree more with your direction here and this is exactly what i'm doing. I've made about 10% recently in one of my directed Ameritrade retirement accounts and i'm lightening up a lot and putting it in SWVXX. Showing a 4.27% 7-day yield still.
Isn't it easier just to use Ignore? There are many people in this world that don't have self-realization/awareness of how they come across. I see a lot of issues in the workplace because of this.
Tax Loss Selling: Anyone have any names they are adding that have been really beaten down? I've added some AEY, PCTI and GLASF recently.
mandjb - Yes, you can still sell expert market stocks, just not buy. I'm on TDA. I certainly didn't expect PDRX to go up this much and had a sell order in to see if it would hit. If you live in Canada or elsewhere in the world you can buy expert market stocks.
PDRX - sold some today at $5.98. Been sitting on this since the $2.20s. It's nice to finally get a win after getting hammered so badly in the past few weeks.
I didn't think I could like Larry David any more than I already do.
SSK/researcher - Excuse my ignorance, but doesn't the banking sector do better in a higher interest rate scenario? I guess it could just be that the inflation is more damaging to the customers in general?
researcher (NYCB) - I already own this as well and will be adding on any additional weakness.
Larry - funny, i've been doing the exact same thing. I have a bucket of high dividend yield stocks and also SWVXX.
jtomm (BDCO) - What is investing without a little risk? I want to assess the risk on this a little bit more - trying to comb the interwebs for more information.
I tried - as i'm sure everyone else here has at some point in time. That will be the last one from me.
Wade-
If you want to build credibility and respect amongst the posters of this board, please stop bragging. You may not even intend it to be that, but that's exactly how it comes across. Humility is a good thing.
EDUC - anyone still in this?
My best friend bet me dinner that the Dow would be up over 750 points today. I didn't think there was any way in hell. Seems as though he has a pulse on the market lately.
ARTW (hweb) - Just sold mine. Thanks for reminding me to keep an eye on this. Nice little gain there.
HRBR - got lucky to get that 2.26 fill yesterday after I saw that 5-year contract news with American Air. Sooooo lucky.
SIRC - thank you guys for bringing this up. I keep scratching my head on this. Something has to be wrong here for the stock to be behaving like this. I was reading through the filings and I just get a really bad feeling on this one, not to mention the obvious red flags.
ETCC - There are always some negative aspects to these. What I like seeing is the revenue growth/new contracts.
swamp (RCMT) - Patience can burn you too. I try to have a realistic approach now that includes balancing unrealistic expectations. LOL. Doubles or triples work too - don't always need a home run. As I write this, RCMT hitting new highs for the day.
ETCC - buying some of this back in the low .30s. It has retraced almost everything that it gained before announcing the new contract(s). I'll wait on this one until the next spike.
hweb (RCMT) - I sold the rest of mine as well around 16.15. I gotta take these profits as I was significantly underwater late last week.
BDRL - Dan just wrote this up on nonamestocks. I've been accumulating. It's been beaten down a lot from the delisting but is essentially the same company. They have been putting some cost cutting measures in place and are focusing on higher margin returns in the future. I've had some direct experience with their AV equipment at my last job and it's good stuff. Hoping they can regain that market presence that they had before.
ARTW (hweb) - I like it and I have been accumulating as well. Hopefully we see another one of those spikes. I doubt we hit 7+ like last time, but 3-5 might not be out of reach.
hweb - Sometimes I get lucky. I've had so many the past few months that I didn't exercise the same thinking: EKCS, PIRS, MOTS, etc.. Of course there's also those that you sell too early like MICS.
There are so many ways to trim the fat in this country - the IRS is one of them. I was a big fan of the flat tax. Hope the IRS isn't watching this...lol.
ETCC - Thanks, guys. I think there is definitely some revenue growth here but you would like to see more profitability. I just sold all my shares at .92 this morning. I've been burned too many times holding things past their expiration date lately. And you know it doesn't taste as good once it passes that :)
ETCC - Been sitting on this for awhile and it has finally started moving. News of a new international contract helps also. Any of you guys own any?
MOTS - I own this. Still curious as to if their Pure-Vu system takes off...the data sure looks good.
Oil prospects - I think it's going to be clear in a couple of months that supply is not keeping up with the demand for the next couple of years.
That being said - what are your favorite undervalued O+G plays at the moment?
Scary market - you guys see the chart parallels between 2022 and 2008? Yikes - cliff diving. Wish I had some short exposure to hedge this thing.
MICS at 7!!!
MICS - $5.95!!!! Unbelievable!
Thanks - I sold the rest a little under $5 though. It's already hit $5.51 today. Can't complain. It was a great couple trades. It's not often that we get to hit the easy button w/ some of these.
