DNA By James Watson
I am listening to the book "DNA" by James Watson on CD. Absolutely fascinating book. Has anyone else read/listened to it? Would love to hear any thoughts. If anyone wants to learn about this science, this book is a great place to start.

I'm a little distraught that they did not mention eye color in this press release. Maybe not as far along as I had hoped....
On CNN Tonight:
Anderson Cooper will talk about how different ethnicites find different results in smoking cessation methods. Interesting.....
Thanks,
-Matt
CSI and CSI Miami -
I think someone on this board had previously done this, but I e-mailed both CSI and CSI Miami today telling them about DNAWitness and suggesting they incorporate it into the show....
Hmmm...From USAToday...Interesting....

Can someone please explain the La Jolla deal in plain english for those of us who do not have a PhD in Economics?
Thanks,

OT or maybe not.....
Interesting Article - mentions Genentech and variable patient response.....

Thanks Ann. Send an e-mail to DNAP, maybe if they get enough interest they will consider it.....
Ann - Animals....and DNAP
A long time ago I e-mailed Dr. F. about the possibility of doing an Ancestry like product on dogs. For example, to tell what percent German Shephard and what percent Labrador a specific dog is....I thought it was a good idea because for myself I would be more willing to shell out bucks to tell my dogs ancestry than my own...but in any event, never heard back from the good doctor...I'm sure he thought I was crazy....I can't rememeber if I read it on this board or somewhere else, but I saw an article recently on how the mapping of the canine genome was almost complete.....
In any event, the wording on the Lynn-Peavey is misleading and may scare off potential customers....IMHO>.....
I don't like the way DNAWitness is worded on the Lynn Peavey web site.
Makes it sound like you have to have a suspect first to determine his/her ancestry.
It would be better if it read something like, "determine ancestral characteristics from an anonymous DNA sample"
Thoughts anyone?

This board is like a high school sociology experiment. Whenever there is no news from the company for a while, posters start to fight with each other - then when news comes out everyone is friends again and discusses the news. Guess it is just the GENETIC need for self-expression....ooops I am guilty myself
NikLinna - I hope you are right!
Therein lies the problem. What incentive do the drug companies have to include ancestry in thier clinical trials? The drug companies can sell more product if they market to the general population.
Thoughts?
Interesting. I see Shriver is cited in this paper.....
Here is the link....

It is worthwhile.....and interesting!!!
I agree. Anyone watch the PBS special on DNA last night?
OT: People are absolutely crazy to buy GMED at 18 cents. Thoughts???
Here's one for DNAP.......

Itsonlymuni - I agree with you...
Conferences are nice, but the real work gets done at home. Sure contacts are important, but at a conference one does not get full control over who will be there and the atmosphere. Better to have specific business trips with targeted customers, suppliers, financiers, etc......

Not especially worried about dilution or a reverse split....
Okay, let's just say that all 1.5 billion shares are issued. That would lead one to believe that a 20 to 1 reverse split would bring the stock in line with others on the NSDQ (75 million shares outstanding). Extrapolating that, you would have a share price of approximately $1.00 (5 cents/share x 20).
Would I pay a $1.00 a share for a stock on the Nasdaq with all the potential this company has?
-Hair color
-Eye color
-DNAWitness
-DNAAncestry
-Biometrics Council
-Ovanome, Statinome, etc.
Answer: YOU BET I WOULD!!!
In addition, one of the big risk factors of a penny stock is the fear that the company could go out of business any day. Now - I don't think that is going to happen for the next 20 monthsand that alone should add valus to the pps.
Thoughts anyone?
Thanks,

Publishing For Peer Review?
Chris:
Thanks for your reply. I just think that with something as straightforward and easily verifiable as eye color, the results should speak for themselves. No need to divulge the method. Alot of sharks out there, both here and internationally.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
-Matt
Publishing For Peer Review?
Publishing for peer review does not seem like a good idea to me. Shouldn't DNAP be keeping these secrets to themselves? I would love to hear other people's thoughts on this.
Thanks,
-Matt
