GTEL breaking 13 !! eom
BBI, HLYW
Yep!!
Loaded up on HLYW as well !!
BBI fell on news that Viacom might spin them off at a cheaper price than current P/S.
Who cares! ... this won't affect anything for many months ... we're only in it for a few seasonal weeks.
HLYW is another great Feb seasonal!
UAX . . .....
anyone still following this ??
I own at 25 and wondering wether to just unload now at 28.
Thanks!!
halftime really sucked!
society is going downhill quickly.
no youth to keep us going forward strongly.
``It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime.''
.
.
most excellent news!
South Miami . . ....
that was me ... right in the heart of Kendall.
quite a disaster ... although I survived OK . . ....
I had the house built of bricks.
lancebps .... Miami ??
I'd recognize that radar-shot in your signature anywhere !!!
I lived through Andrew ... did you go through it as well ??
sorry for this topic . . . . ......
that's not evolution ... that's mutation.
the people arguing on this board have their own agendas and ulterior motives .. and mostly, just haven't studied it deeply nor asked the important questions.
everyone just believes the teachers & scientists before them .. including the current teachers & scientists..
that's how they study evolution ... they learned it in school.
just ask any teacher/scientist 600 years ago: the world is flat.
sorry .. last post re: this topic.
had to get it off my chest.
this is not a religious topic ... it is scientific.
you wrote:
The flu for example, mutates every dang year (evolves to become resistant to last year's vaccine).
GADZ
I typo'd the wrong symbol in my post ... but did check the correct one.
Sorry, though ... I only checked back 3-years.
As your table shows, not very good in the past 3-years combined.
Going back further it surely is good.
I, too, don't feel good about this one though.
Your other picks are much better .... thanks!!
Thanks for your tables and charts.
Good luck in all you do!!
evolution ... not!
there's so much I couldn't even begin.
one really good place to start is:
http://www.AnswersInGenesis.com
They are an inherently Christian organization, but they have so much science on their sites ... it's awesome !!!!
They certainly helped me see the light.
There is just so much out there everywhere if you want to read about it.
We have been duped over the last century for political reasons into believing that we "evolved" from dirt.
Anyway ... I don't want to get started.
I am a scientist and there is just so much out there.
I don't want to turn this into an evolution board.
Thanks.
theoretically . . . . ......
very well said McCyberDude !!
Good grief.
There's much more science against evolution than for it.
Do your studying first.
Those others you mentioned are not theories ... they are Laws
Have a nice vacation.
GADX
I'll have to agree with ratios.
This is not very seasonal in Feb.
Some years it does good, others it doesn't.
Chart looks decent, but I don't like chancing on decent and sometimes seasonal ... it is otherwise a bad company.
Good thoughts ratios: watch all indicators and seasonals, then time trade with volume and TA.
evolution ....
they need to strike more than the word from teachings.
if they don't teach all popular theories, they shouldn't teach any!
BPWRF . . ...
I'm with you!
in since 40 and waiting for break-out . . .....
nice base building for sure!
ISV ?? eom
taxes . . . ......
um, did you make more money in 2003 ??
more investment profits ??
obviously the tax cuts and lower tax brackets wouldn't have caused you to owe more.
GTEL holding up well . . ....
good solid support building at 0.117
looking for shoot-up tomorrow.
PGHI ??
I don't know about this . . ....
It looks more like a bearish pennant pattern ....
Also, divergant momentum slope . . ....
It's looking too toppy for me.
GTEL & MOBL
GTEL is struggling to even reach yesterday's high.
MOBL seems to have made its news move and is struggling to move any higher.
Any thoughts or insight anyone ??
BPWRF
Is anyone following this ??
Chart looks great!
... buying opportunity on back & fill movement after tremendous rise.
Any thoughts ??
MOBL = I agree ... 0.06 and beyond
OHNA
3 month/MACD/slowsto 66-3-5
hippie: what does this mean "66-3-5" ??
EMRG
stinkeye, could make that a PUBLIC message if you hear anything.
I'm looking to get in now as well.
THANKS !!
GW:
the chart actually looks toppy ...
however: Feb is always a good month for GW
I will be looking to pick some up on a dip.
Oil usually drives higher into the summer season, so this is definitely a good stock to watch.
Why has it done so well already ?? ... straight up since November!
BPWRF
I'm in at 0.40.
Definitely see it running at least up to resistance @ 0.50.
Either a nice 25% profit, or burst through resistance for more!
UAX . . . .....
YES!
I agree.
Look at a 1-year chart and notice the higher lows, the ever increasing OBV, and the upward rolling MACD.
This looks to blow past old highs ... IMHO.
ISPH & DRTE ??
Why did you buy ISPH yesterday ??
Looks like a long-term Heads & Shoulders formation.
Also, OBV and Price are divergent in a bad way.
and DRTE doesn't look great either from a TA standpoint.
Can you share your reasons for picking ISPH & DRTE ??
I see some monthly seasonality as follows:
. . ISPH in March
. . DRTE in April
Is there any weekly seasonality that you see ??
Thanks!
UAX still running and should break 0.30
Notice that OBV has been rising for months without looking back.
Meanwhile MACD has been oscillating ... near lows now.
Room to run to highs!
Volume .. yes!
Notice 24,25-Nov and 29,30-Dec ...
volume started rising before the quick runs/humps.
If you look back in history you might see more of that.
It might be a stock that has increasing volume (MMs, insiders, ...) before price run-ups.
only one Truth . . . . ......
if God could be anything your mind created, He wouldn't be too good or powerful of a god.
The great thing about Jesus is that He is the truth, the Light, and the Way.
We can always count on Him ... He never changes.
anyway ... I have nothing against the people with the 1000's of ideas on God.
and also ... I love all of those movies as well.
Certainly don't want to bore this board with religion.
thanks for your thoughts.
also . . . . ......
Ken, you have coming up in your SEW spread-sheets: BLI & BSX.
I've attached charts for them as well.
Ken,
One thing missing from those seven charts you displayed is volume.
When you posted those charts, it was already a little late ... they already posted huge "break-outs".
True, you may have other reasons or you know something fundamentally, but you need to be monitoring the volume and catch a stock before it breaks out.
Like seasonals, study the historical pattern of a stock and how it reacts when volume has picked up in the past.
e.g do price spikes usually follow increasing volume ??
how long do those spikes last for ??
etceteras . . . . ......
That's why I love the idea of picking stocks based on your seasonal theory ... and then timing the buys more specifically based on historical TA.
Just playing with some charts.
I took a look at COR for you.
Unfortunately just 2-years of data that go along for free with my tools vendor.
January (1M) looks like definitely a good month usually.
Hope it still has room to run this month.
Green areas is where stock has risen 20% or more.
sorry for the Text clutter ... you can figure it out.
Trying to show start/stop Months of 20% areas.
Consecutive or overlapping areas clutter text.
as long as you share the passion . . . .....
THANKS!!!
Definitely appreciate your historical research.
I am starting my own research now (thanks to you) and will post possibilities as I get them.
Too bad you didn't buy any ZONA a week or two ago !!
Crossing aroons don't always mean anything ... but it usually is a very good indicator to add to a collection of ones to watch in unison.
yes, it historically does pretty good during this time frame.
unfortunately, it's already had a spectacular 4-week runup and is looking a little "toppy".
I am definitely keeping my eye on it, but shying away due to recent action. Once it drops down a little, I'll look to get in.
Good Luck !!
seasonal commodities
with commodity futures, the seasonality is obvious:
» grain planting and harvesting seasons
» live-cattle growing, slaughtering, and consumption seasons
» crude oil usage/demand in summer
» heating oil & natural gas consumption in winter
» you can even play spreads: soybeans rising faster than corn
» lots of different stuff that made sense.
but with stocks, I never imagined.
Thanks!
Hey Ken,
Yes ... I already am a TA trader and stumbled upon your seasonal stock board here while surfing the Microcap boards.
I think it's an awesome idea !!
I used to trade seasonal grain futures.
I made lot$ and lost lot$ ... I was a very immature and greedy trader back then (mid-90's).
Now I am old and wise.
I will also be working on merging the seasonality of stocks with their technicals (and fundamentals as well).
I'll be in close touch with your board and will let you know of ideas I come up with ... do keep in touch.
Thanks!
Nickk.
UAX ... very high volume today on no news.
I got in today.
Amex was talking last week about delisting them.
They're supposed to appeal that decision.
Maybe people inside know that the appeal is coming soon and getting in early . . . ...
since price dropped sharply last week on the original news, maybe it will rise sharply on upcoming appeals news.
Also, I recently read a study done on delisted stocks.
A very high percentage of them rise sharply over the next few months.
Take a look at RMFD for instance after it was taken out of QQQ.
the photo industry has been bad for a while . . . .....
yet LENS has risen almost every spring for a while . . . .....
that is why we, on this board, are trading seasonal stocks.
like Ken says, we just have to have faith and trade mechanically.
I'm into LENS because it is seasonal and has been for a while.
Here's to faith ... go LENS!
