You nailed it Grant,, 24/7 scrutiny. Thats what tells me this is a great company to be invested in.
And they have put some restrictions on the free stuff they pickup. If its gonna cause trouble they don't take it. One more step in smoothing out the process.
l think l will nominate you for the new CEO of JBI. We need someone like you to take that position. Your way ahead of the present staff.
This shareholder is not too happy either. Glad to hear you can keep tabs on the Jbi fuel going in to Nanticoke. Do you know if Jbi was supplying fuel to Hilton as well? There has been a continual argument here that they did not supply US Steel at all.
$475,000.00 and hope l am bigtime wrong
Mileage, the blast furnaces at Nanticoke run on natural gas, not oil. The boilers run on oil but only when the furnaces are not running. The boilers run on the off gases produced from the furnaces. Unless things have changed the boilers run on bunker C oil, almost like a tar. If jbi is making #2 then either the process to run the boilers has changed or they use the fuel for something else. Grosset tankers have been seen in the plant, thats the outfit Jbi uses to haul their fuel. There have been pictures of them loading. l can't see Jbi just letting them run out of fuel without giving them notice to get another supplier. l can't see Stelco telling Jbi to go pound salt either, especially if they can get the fuel at a discounted price. Money is money.
l will break the silence UK. My dad has been sick and l have had no time to get to Iroquois st. Saw a grosset pass through town the other day. Could be on the way to the Esso refinery to load or could be on the way to Stelco Nanticoke. Can't report that cause l don't know for sure. Haven't seen anything lately QE Hamilton bound. Like l said before, l will follow one to Nanticoke with the camera as soon as l can catch one. The odds of that aren't real good cause l'm not in that area that much.
Gee.. l don't know if there would be enough in it to pay for the truck costs or not. l am really gullible as l a watch this jbi thing through my rose coloured glasses. l suspect Dr, Goldsmith would be the guy to make those caculations for you. Not me.
JbI stopped by yesterday and loaded 15 skids of free plastic. Seven bales, a few busted plastic pallets, 8 gaylords with bottles, pails and other goodies. Didn't get there on time to get some pics. Oh well, we'll try to catch him next time.
She's no scam. Chatted with our US Steel boy tonite and he keeps seeing those pesky Crosset tankers headin for the gates at Stelco Nanticoke. Thats good to hear.
They been doing an awsome job of hiding all that plastic they have been buying over the years. My buddy that ran the recycle before jbi took it over wasn't hiding it. Everytime l have driven by over the years l didn,t see it. Thats a lotta plastic to hide to fill all those tankers headin for us steel. Guess l need to be more observant.
Ya, we went through that with propane. Switch all the vehicles to propane, its so cheap. Right, trucks were gutless, couldn't pull a hen off her nest. Then after everbody switches they raise the price. Now you gotta a sucked out truck with a bunch of high pressure tanks that the salt rots out. Robert has ordered a bunch of natural gas tractors. Cutting edge l guess. We'll see how long it lasts before they shove the price of NG up so its no longer viable.
l am with ya on that Z. Hope they can go it alone.
l can see Honeywell taking a crack at this company if all else fails. Major R+D going on in that outfit.. They have spent big bucks on projects noy as close to making it as JBI.
Likley less than truckload if its ground in Canada. Then a full load to go over the border. No fun crossing the border at anytime with a truck so they try to make full loads. If its ground in US it should be able to go directly to the plant.
Sorry Kool, can't answer your question very well, haven't been in the area lately and havn't talked to the other guys that are watching.
Least its a profit.. thats good enough for me.. l cant be bothered with all that other little detail stuff.. l like big things like tankers rolling by
yup.. l see the tankers headen there.. thats all the proof l need
it dont make no nevermind anyway.. us steel takes all they produce.. no muss no fuss
l may be able to get the fuel consumption for Nanticoke, but not for Hamiton.
You raise a good question bueno. l have wondered that myself. l know lots of friends of friends that have bought in. They might hold 10,000 shares each. But they are pretty much all in and dont have a pile of money left to throw at it. Is it the sec thing? l think not. Is it the past history? maybe. Is it the " its to good to be true thing" l kinda think that has something to do with it. When Allis Chalmers put rubber tires on their farm tractors, one of the competition's statements was "What kind of an idiot would put rubber on a tractor when all it takes is a pail of water to get stuck". So l wait and watch and hope the rubber tires work. What l report is exactly what l see. No more no less. This no scam and there is good activity from what l see as a local.
Don't know bout that. One of our us steel boys followed 2 tankers of jbi fuel right in the gates at Nanticote. Somethins up.
Thankyou capra for filling in the blanks for us. That makes a little more sense.
All the chain stores l deliver to have their own cardboard baler and send the bales back to the warehouse on there grocery truck. So l guess it was plastic. No one said that was their only source of plastic. The amount of plastic l saw out in front of the recycle building would have taken 50 years to collect on a grocery store route. l suspect they pickup plastic and card board together on route. If your accross the road at another customer, might as well stop by while your in the area. Might stop by the recycle for a pic tues. We'll see how she goes.
l understand your concern. l see it more as a stop on a regular route where they make pickups. l know one outfit that calls JBI when they have enough plastic for a worthwhile pickup. Had l been there myself l think l would have asked questions from the store as well as the driver. Who knows where something like this leads, maybe head office could collect plastic from all their stores and ship to JBI from their central warehouse. This store is part of a very large chain. The trend is moving away from direct backdoor pickups and deliveries to central warehousing. l am happy to see management turn over every rock they can.
Just found out one of our drivers met the JBI truck pickin up plastic at a grocery store. That should save the store a few calls to have the compactor emptied. The more the word gets out, the more stops they get, the cheaper it is to pick the stuff up. Don't know if there getting it for free or charging the store. Our shareholder driver did ask a few questions and l can tell you that things sound pretty good.
l think you you spelled that wrong, you mean induct into the genius hall of fame. Right?
You wont see a for sale sign on the old HQ. Theres a ton of ground back behind for processors. We just need a change in prov govt to make things easier for jbi to get going over here. Not very business friendly here for the last while.
Yup,tracks in the snow at both places, couple van trailers at the blending site, didn't pay real close attention to HQ, was looking left and didnt turn and come back.
Just drove by the recycle plant. Lots of trailers backed in the doors and a whole whack of big white bags of plastic sitting outside. Lookin good.
H.L. Mencken also said, " The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed and hence clamorous to be lead to saftey by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary"
That pretty much sums up all the negative about JBI me thinks. All imaginary.
2 more Crosset tankers Hamilton bound QEW this week.. spotted by another shareholder
Nice pic Brig.Look at the angle of that new building. You can't notice it from the ground. l have been down the railroad several times looking at the place from the other end trying to see if there was any sign of a spur going in. The angle of that new building is perfect for a railroad right into it. Wonder if the idea is to ship new processors by rail. l can't see any other reason to put that on an angle like that.
Nope, l see the tankers rolling through my town out to Stelco and on the qew hamilton bound to Hilton works. No use you arguing with a local. Sorry bud.
they did that in 1 year and hav'nt failed.
$825,000.00 Good job Brig.
So tell me what tanker outfit Agelux uses to move their peanut butter like fuel to its end user. l would like to watch for them along with all the Crosset tankers l see hauling JBI's finished product out to Stelco.
About a month ago l asked a lifelong friend of ours who works out at Nanticoke to watch for any Crosset tankers. Met with him tonite and yes, he has followed them in the main gates on the way to work. Asked if he spoke with the drivers but has not. Asked if he had the opportunity if he could find out where they are coming from. l think l already know but it would be nice to hear it from a driver. Other local shareholders see the tankers coming through town and on the QEW. This has been a long and at times gut-wrenching ride. Now is not the time to bail out. l intend to follow a tanker to Naticoke myself as soon as l get a chance to catch one. l am not a very patient person, but these frequent reports are definitley easing the pain. Hang in there gang.
Another Crosset tanker QE Hamilton bound 11:00 am. Probably on its way to Hilton Works. Must be somebody out there that can use there computer to watch the gates at street level at Nanticoke and Hamilton to catch these JBI loads of fuel going in.
The picture Raw posted had 3 Grosset tankers loading at JBI. US steel has a plant in Nanticoke and Hamilton. l have also seen them on the QEW Hamilton bound. If they where going to the Esso refinery they would not be on the QE. They would be coming through Dunnville. Like l said EP, if l am in town an catch one l will follow it to Nanticoke. Of course that doesn't mean anyone will believe it anyway.
