For giggles, where are these trials being held?
The FDA is funded by big Pharma (see Chantix and nicotine gum), not big tobacco. Just saying.
This TV report was the most fair so far. Hopefully a major network will pick up the story and go more in depth.
This fight will take some time but the truth will come out. We will be victorious.
As for my stock, I wish I could get at least a stock certificate to frame!

NOVEMBER 18, 2011
New Study Estimates That There are 2.5 Million Electronic Cigarette Users in the United States According to an article by CDC researchers published online ahead of print in Tobacco Control, the proportion of U.S. adults who have ever used electronic cigarettes more than quadrupled from 0.6% in 2009 to 2.7% in 2010. The overall proportion of adults who had used electronic cigarettes in the past 30 days in 2010 was 1.2%.
Since the adult U.S. population in 2010 was approximately 209 million, the estimated number of current (past-month) electronic cigarette users is about 2.5 million.
The Rest of the Story
These data are important for three reasons. First, to the best of my knowledge, this is the first scientific estimate of the number of electronic cigarette users in the U.S. It helps to define the magnitude of electronic cigarette use, which is useful in public policy discussions regarding vaping and its regulation.
Second, these data demonstrate that taking electronic cigarettes off the market - as recommended by a number of anti-smoking groups - would have devastating effects on the public's health. We now know that there are literally hundreds of thousands of vapers who are using electronic cigarettes to reduce their cigarette consumption or to quit smoking entirely. Taking electronic cigarettes off the market would force most of these individuals to return to smoking, which would have devastating health effects.
Third, the fact that the number of electronic cigarette users has more than quadrupled in just one year suggests that smokers are finding these devices helpful. If they were ineffective - as suggested by some anti-smoking researchers - one would not expect the market to take off as it is.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I quick read the 45 page download. They took their cash, invested and almost all of their investments lost money save one. Their loi's are about USD3 million for all of the Far East. Their product line is 9 models: 3 small e-cigs, 3 E-Cigarette and 3 e-pipes. Private money is out and the new money will come from us again. Something fool something something shame something again.
Yes I will exercise my rights anyway. I owe Hon Lik my life. 2 1/2 years ago I went from a 3 packs a day 30 year habit to using e-cigs.
I had a dream last night that Dragonite was a reality show fail.

Reporting from Richmond, Virginia. There were over 600 attending the convention. There were over 30 vendors. This was the best 1 yet. Momentum is growing. The news is getting out. If only Ruyan was here to see what is going on.

There were over 300 conventioneers at Las Vegas Vapefest. Richmond Virginia Vapercon is next 10/21-10/22.

Some new products seen in Vegas...
Since this week is a Chinese holiday i feel confident that nothing of import will happen this week. As to PPM, I have met them (living on the Upper West Side of Manhattan we live next door to celebrities). I miss Mary. They all have a great sense of humor. Lots of fun at cocktail parties. They would have enjoyed this party.
That was the reference I was wracking my brain for. I guess that decade is lost or misplaced. Somehow the childishness of this company shone through again. Google Dragonite and the first page of results are all about the Pokemon character. And now, the theme of their party is a Peter, Paul and Mary childrens' song. Trademark infringement lawsuit anyone?

Wish I'd been there. Nice but the e-cigs are not really new.
Me and some of my friends.
Great. Ego-T is a good choice. Before you buy you may want to go the meetup. There are usually local vendors. We really are quite nice and non-judgmental.
I have been vaping 2 1/2 years. I average 4 cigarettes a day with espresso. E-cigs are an alternative. Nobody has come up with a successful cigar alternative, though there are some cigar flavors available. BTW, drip, cartomizer or tank. Nobody uses cartridges.
I smoked 3 packs a day for over 30 years. Some of my fellow vapers are the same.
Posting a video when I find it.
I'm lousy with geography. Is Largo close?

Newmedman, please, please - another bedtime story...
Do not take the following as actionable. Seriously don't. I have been informed that two cig companies are sending representatives to attend Vapefest. While this info is reliable - we have some ideas why they are coming. I will not speculate.
These last few posts make it clear that the disinformation campaign by Big Tobacco and Big Pharma is working. Politicians and Health organizations also spread the fear of the "unknown". While there are hundreds of vendors, there are actually only a few major Chinese manufacturers. There are dozens if not hundreds of mom and pop shops that are small potatoes. What the public generally sees are e-cigs that are over-hyped and over-priced for what they are.
Anybody that smoked near a pack a day should skip those and go for an Ego. Those chainsmokers must buy a mod. A simple e-cig benefits a half a pack a day smoker. The bulk of the companies being sued by Ruyan make the small e-cigs which lead to many unsatisfied customers.
I haven't seen the new Ruyan products or atomizers. Their big losses came from bad products that had to be recalled and thrown out. I wish them well.
Their patents are valid. However, if their lack of presence in the worldwide press is any indication, they may just strike licensing deals. That would be a pretty penny for us. But not the dollars we hoped for.
In the meantime... Vegas baby...

There will a live show. I am especially interested in seeing Bauway products. Maybe something new.
Ruyanamerica.com is down.
On the other hand - Ruyan.com.cn is back up. Unfortunately, it doesn't show any new products.
Yesterday Ruyan traded 220k shares yesterday. Lunch money trading.
Hmmm...
Spotted Blucig commercials running on Sportscenter. Would they spend big money on ads if they didn't contemplate a settlement with Ruyan?
EliteYoda - you and me get on a plane to China, go to corporate and knock some sense into this company. 48 hours. Bet you we could double share price with one meeting.
Oh, if anybody is interested - our next big regional/international meetup /convention/party is 9/16-9/17 2011 in Las Vegas at the Flamingo Hotel. Details at www.Vapefest.com .
Can't find any news either. Music is fine, saw some slick video of the new e-pipe and e-cigar products but Ruyan.com.cn still down. Ruyan back to low levels of trading.
Www.Ruyan.com.cn has been down for a while. Hopefully when it gets back up we will see the new product line.
Done with this fiscal thingamajig.

Will be hard to gauge without being there. Maybe they will provide some video.

Isn't it a Hong Kong basement? Also, they do not say if the E-Cigar and E-Pipe designs are new. If they are the old designs they will not do well in the USA.
In other news, BAT (British American Tobacco) is working on a nicotine inhaler. There is an article in the NEJM (New England Journal of Medicine) stating that despite the fact that e-cigs work to convert smokers into non-smokers, they can't work.
There are many chess moves in the works. I believe we are still in the opening moves, but interested kibitzers are starting to gather.
Consider this. Hundreds of thousands of users, at minimum. Current sales in Hundreds of Millions. Press coverage is minimal. Mostly negative press with serious anti lobbying efforts. Miniscule companies battling Big Tobacco and Big Pharma. This company could be bought or hostile takeover in a moment for its patents and goodwill.
Enjoy the show.
Interesting news, but not earth-shattering. E-Pipes and E-Cigars are a small part of the market. That said, I would be interested in the new patent application. If a new atomizer patent is contained in the application to make the products more attractive that would be really good news. I have seen pipes defined in various ways. This may be a truly new product.
I await further news. Just the fact that they are finally moving forward should finally end the long drought.
I saw this. I considered my shares as worthless anyway before this. However, this board is the only place that has this. It could be a mistake.
http://www.dragonite.com.hk/upload/news/1310119287_E%20DRAGONITE.pdf
A hypothesis: the board embarked on a venture to turn the company around. During the completion of this plan the share price dropped so low they had to amend the plan. They were all supremely disappointed on how this all turned out. Not only was this a bad result in toto, they had to pay these guys.
Result: Fire the guys, finish the acquisition, and find a new plan. The e-cig market is getting bigger. I checked out the industry's various vendors and my rough approximation is that this market is $1 billion and growing. However they enter the market they can be big. With the exit of these key personnel maybe they will revisit some earlier discarded plan.
Maybe not a dodo, but a phoenix! Mr. Hon Lik - call me.
