It worked very well for AIG. Right after the split the stock behaved like a drunk walking down a steep ramp, but then out of the clear blue sky, and for no obvious reason, the thing soared. I remember they were calling the thing "worthless" and it became "worthless" at about $30.+ per share.
need a buy @ .020 to get a nice, bright green indicator and a little follow-up after that.
about what?
Who is in charge of putting info out for QASP these days? According to the fellow who called friday, he was given DB's number for info. If you call the number on the website does that connect you with Lisa? Has anybody used the IR@company adress and been successful?
Today's jump, I had a dream it was gonna happen. No need for charts!!
Yes it was Penny, but just a little one!! People tend to think I can be a little too critical at times, so I figured I would say something very, very, very positive. We went up a bit today, so maybe I should go really crazy and get us up to about .035 or so. Don't tell Robo though, he will think I am getting soft.
Vince
Good post, well written.
I know your not trying to argue and neither am I. I am more than willing to listen to someone's views, consider what they are saying, and try to see where it fits when compared to mine, and if I find they say something that enlightens both myself and others to a specific situation, I am more than willing to say "I didn't know that or 'that clears that up' or even 'you were right, I was wrong'". I do that pretty much with people in various things I'm involved in and I find that it works well in some pretty "confrontational" areas. My opinions are based on my opinions that I form based on my understanding or experience in any particular area. I don't know if that is consideered back-up or not. I write PRs, did one wednesday for a friend who's running for public office. I understand business registrations, I've got them coming out of the wazoo in PA and NJ. Been in business for many years. And on and on. Is that considered back-up? I don't know. Does it give me somewhat of a basis to form an opinion? I think so. Are the circumstances concerning QASP considered typical, or would they be tolerated by shareholders of a listed stock? Definetely not. Would a CEO of a listed stock be thrown out on his ear if he pulled the stunts DB does? Definetely. Can I back that up? Well, the first I do while drinking a cup of coffee in the morning is read the WSJ while watching CNBC to get a feel for what's going on or about to go on in the market that day. That is on all day, even on the TV I have in my office. I visit all the major financial sites, check out the stories, keep abreast of whats going on. And on and on. Does that make me a bleepin expert. Nope, far from it, if I was I would have made millions so far on this crap but I haven't. Does it give me somewhat of a base of information so that I can form an opinion about this thing? I think so. Wether the opinion is right or wrong, that will be determined later. The QASP stock I own will either be worth a few bucks or a few cents, I hope for not only my sake, but for everybody's sake that it's the BUCKS.
With all due respect that is a model that is already in place in may different areas and what most major indistries are getting away from. The trend today is to cease doing things in-house and depend on individual suppliers and manufacturers who supply multiple clients. No need to pay people to design, produce, test, and correct problems with a widget when you can buy the widget from someone who can produce it in mass and at a cheaper price than you can because that is what he does. If you went into your local Best Buy or Sam's Club and stood there and stared at the LCD and Plasma TV display, you would be amazed if you knew how many of the same parts in those 7 or 8 "brands" were made by the same supplier. Up until a few years ago that wasn't the case, but as the demand grew these companies realized that was the way to go and have done so. It's not only in electronics, it's everywhere.
DB, I understand what your trying to say. Actually, your right, when he put that last PR out I made a few bucks from the run-up. But their is a another part to that. When the price was going from under .02 to .03, there were buyers on the other end of those transactions who bought shares believing in the info that was put into that PR. Should they have? I have my opinion but my opinion can't sell or by shares for anybody, we are all responsible for our actions. That day the PPS settled in at around .024 and hovered around that area for awhile while a lot of these buyers waited for the follow-up PR. As you know, it never came and those buyers who bought in that day in the .025+ range started dumping at a loss which brought us down to the levels we are at today. All those people had to take a loss because what a supposedly responsible CEO stated in a PR has not yet materialized, even though a more than reasonable time frame has passed for the stated actions to take place. I think the "forward looking statement" that is included in these PRs speaks for itself, and in Pennyland the phrase "buyer beware" should be front and center when considering buying a penny stock, but if you can't take a supposedly legitimate CEO at his word, or at least be somewhat assured that his statements have even a reasonable degree of legitimacy behind them, I think that is a big problem, and the principal behind that behaviour takes considerably more responsibility for the monetary loss of those who made a move based on his actions.
Actually, as in most industries today, consolidation, rather than new startups, seems to be the general trend.
Wow, this is going to sound a little crazy to you or maybe yoou might not belive me, but when that jet thing came into play, in addition to this so called new engine, I immediately dismissed it based on the premise that if this was the future of the industry or even a future segment of the industry, all of the major manufacturers of business jets would have already been years into it with their R & D, and if and when these things are ready for market, the major established players, with all of the infrastructure in place to go from concept to delivery would pretty much do a large, if not all, of a majority of the sales. Why I find funny is your links pretty much support what I thought. Thanks for the justification, even though I kept it to myself.
I have to give you credit for actually doing some DD that actually is relevant to the flight school part of this thing. I did this back in December and found that the Jacksonville area is saturated with flight schools, some who have been established for years and well regarded in the industry. These schools offer the same services found in the PRs that QSAP has put out and after doing a little reading found out that the fees are more reasonable that what was in the PRs. There is even a major airline that has a school in the area for those looking to get into that segment. Even though, the major airlines heavily recruit USAF and USN pilots who are close to retirmenent. I will assume you will understand why, but if you don't just google Capt. Sully and do a little reading.
Has it been verified that those shares are back in the mix?
Nice work TS. Monitor those sales, let me know when you see a substantial amount of 250K to 1M trades, that will be the company insiders and hanger-on coffee fetchers loading up for the next PR. You'll know GO TIME is near.
That's a great idea Ozz if you were out at .022 +-, now your talking .017 down to maybe .015, that ain't worth the trade. We are getting dangerously close to the "now we are really F***ed range" where all you can do is sit and watch, and get a little testy!!
What you see at these levels is traders buying in at a level that insures a profit on the trade that will be made when we get a little pop. This thing is at oversold levels that haven't been seen since september which is where a trader gets in.
Robo hit paydirt with that one!!
Yep, and that oversold situation we talked about earlier in the day has gotten worse even at today's volume which seems to be one of the lowest in months, if not the lowest in months. If this trend continues we will continue down at the slow, merciless rate of .005 +- or so every 3 or 4 days. If that's the case I would rather see it get there a little quicker so the ascension can begin. Especially, if the company, or Fluffy as you call him, is waiting for that to happen before gracing us with another PR.
If you know the county where he lives, go to their website and search their public records. Most counties have that available, it's usually in or around the tax assessment section. Put the name in and go, see what pops up or doesn't pop up.
Funny you shoud say that, I am watching them right now. Good work if you can get it.
If I had some "relaible" first hand knowledge I would have been glad to share it with you.
Sparcey, I've owned a company for 25 years, so yes we do have a good mixture of people on here who are professionals in different areas, me being one. I would just google the subject and see what comes up and do some reading. The last point I was trying to make was that whatever you find, when it comes to this specific company, the only way we/you will know if any of that is actually happening is through verification from the company itself.
Robo, if you look closely you will see that the stock is pretty close to being at "oversold" levels. The good thing about that is though it's at these levels, the PPS has not dropped to the level that it did the last time it reached similar oversold/overbought levels. That might have been caused by the additional purchases by present shareholders and the addition of new people coming in and staying in. I think we will stay at these PPS levels +- for the immediate future, but I believe there is definetely a fatigue factor that will start to push this thing down if nothing is heard from the company in a reasonable amount of time. I have recently watched a stock with similar circumstances and that is exactly what happened. The people hung in there until the frustration set in, and once that happened they bailed and took their money elsewhere, even if it meant taking a loss.
I may be wrong but I don't think there are any ex-corporate execs on here who can give you "first hand" knowledge of corporate buybacks. Do a little searching and I'm sure you will find some info on the subject. I'm sure you will find that there are a lot of options when doing so, but even if you do find the info, a lack of confirmation from the Co. on what is or isn't actually happening will only put you right back where you started from.
Maddy, the "when" is when a positive PR comes out that states verifiable facts, and answers any remaining questions without creating additional questions. Right now the plane is still in the hanger!
Reality.
Wow, after 2 months, somebody other than myself has finally confirmed that writing PR's is a learned task that requires certain elements to be both informative, convincing, and leads the reader to react in a manner that the writer of the PR expects. Were you been all my life Maddy!!!
No, but remember that it's an active until cancelled.
or transfer to TDA through Quotetracker.com and get $5.00 trades. Basically open the TDA account thru the QT website and once you fund the account, has to be a 2K min., the $5. trades will kick in. For thoses who already have TDA, you can call them directly and ask for a lower commission, if they see you do a decent monthly volume of trades they will lower the commission. It's easy to get $7.00 trades thru them by telling them your thinking about going to ST.
Do you mean 125K divided by 5k which is 25 sales or 125K sales?
How's that?
TRADING Manti, not flipping!!
When the NAVY JET FIGHTER FULLY EQUIPPED WITH TIGERFISH RETRACTABLE PONTOONS finishes growing its wing tips.
Will this mean the end of the Aircraft Carrier Era?
Spence, your points are fair and reasonable, and I think, no, make that, I know, a high percentage of people share your view. Since you been saying the same thing since friday I just figured that I would acknowledge that your opinion is held by others, but sometimes you just get into a situation where your just "preaching to the choir". The opinions heard on here, wether negative or positive, are coming from a individuals with a minority interest in the stock. Hence, you see the swing in the SP over the last 2 TD's. This stock is no different than any other stock, people are in, and people get out, up it goes, down it goes, and vice versa. As you said, it's a matter of style, and what you plan to achieve every time you plan and execute a trade.
As heard in the movie Donnie Brasco; "that's a nice thing, but it ain't my thing".
Is it also 7 bucks for a "call in" order?
I assume there is nothing that prohibits him from reselling these shares back into the OS. The cost to reaquire the shares has to be somewhere around 200K or so. Put out any type of PR and SP gets a upward jolt. Sell those shares back into the uptrend and turn your 200K into 275K, 300K, or wherever that PR takes the SP. 20% of the OS would be 150M so 10M is a drop in the bucket. They are in this to take money, so if they know the SP is going to rise on some type of PR, they sure as hell want to own a few shares to make a few bucks.
Boat, I don't think greed is what clouds the issue here. After reading this thing for the last month or so, I would say that the majority of the guys on here base their conclusions on hope rather than greed. Now, one mans' hope may be one mans' greed, but they both have the ability to cloud one's judgement. In the end it all comes down to the fact that we are all over 21 and responsible for what we do with this stock or any other stock for that matter. As I have done, I would look at it this way, keep your head on a swivel, protect your capital, and if this things starts to throw off an odor that just won't go away, run like hell. Hopefully, that "hope thing" won't overrule common sense if that odor starts to creep into the room.
I hope it doesn't have to be this time either, but if it turns out this guy is playing games with people, I have no problem doing whatever is necessary so he doesn't get the oppurtunity to do it to others. Especially those who are holding the bag in the .03+'s on this thing. I was hoping that this thing would at least pop high enough for them to get somewhat even.
