Feels so good to finally see this where it belongs. I used to have 200k shares 10 years ago and then a series of unfortunate events and company mismanagement followed.
GLTA and happy too see this finally rewarding people.
Agreed.
Love how this is now a certain thing.
Yup!
Also explains the price action this week and today.
Will probably go down a bit until we get next steps here.
Congrats to all that held!
Sale to ADM is official now. See below news:
------------------------------------------------
HOUSTON, March 1, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Flotek Industries, Inc. (NYSE: FTK) ("Flotek" or the "Company") today announced the completion of the sale of Florida Chemical Company, LLC ("FCC" or "Florida Chemical"), its Consumer and Industrial Chemistry Technologies segment, to Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) ("ADM").
Flotek Industries, Inc. (PRNewsfoto/Flotek Industries, Inc.)
Under the previously disclosed terms of the transaction, ADM purchased FCC for $175 million in cash, subject to post-closing working capital and other adjustments. After transaction fees and a working capital adjustment, net proceeds at closing total approximately $165 million. Additionally, Flotek and ADM have entered into long-term reciprocal supply agreements. The first secures Flotek's long-term supply of citrus terpenes, and the second designates that Flotek will manufacture differentiated chemistries for Florida Chemical's industrial customers. Pro-forma financials will be disclosed in a Form 8-K. The Company's year-end earnings conference call will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. CST.
Flotek has paid off the balance of the Company's outstanding credit facility totaling $53.8 million. The Strategic Capital Committee (the "Committee"), chaired by independent director David Nierenberg, is currently evaluating and will make recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the manner in which the Company will deploy the remaining net proceeds. The range of options considered by the Committee include returning capital to shareholders, executing share buybacks, funding previously identified organic growth projects, making additional investments in the business that increase long-term shareholder value and exploring other alternatives.

AH---gotcha, wasn't hip with that jargon. Yes---I feel this could move now.
I sold because of the volume drop and the potential for retreat. No shame in coming back in when the story changes.
This has been the first day of consistent buying pressure at the ASK without retreat. Interesting day indeed...
Agreed.
Volume is returning...grabbed 5k shares at 0.675
Low volume and big rises---can't be many shares available from the looks of it.
Thanks!
I'll take a look later today.
In for 1k shares at $1.31 to see what happens.
I've got bids in at 0.55
No problem. Sharing is caring!
FWIW: I have bids in at 0.55 in case of a pullback. I got out at 0.65 from 0.52 average this morning.
Very nice!
I made just under 1k with AVGR today.
What company is ticker RDKA? Not finding it.
Wow...
You are 100% correct here.
I was also thrown by one statement of a doctor in Australia whom was commenting on the usage of Pantheris from the below article:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/avinger-announces-commercial-launch-australia-130000421.html
Out at 1.58---volume is gone. Worried about a fall. GLTA
FTK looking good yet again...interesting.
Definitely promising---but the volume is also not where I'd want it if this was to continue moving as it has so far.
In for 1k shares at 1.54...lets see what happens
Out at $0.65 ---will continue to watch.
I've been in many biotech plays in the past (data, committee approval, approval play) and this type of response (even with profit taking) is usually a good sign that something positive is in the works. GLTA
Crazy.
Wow....wasn't expecting this so soon. Nice!
Yeah, $1+ could be achievable with volume like this throughout the week.
Maxed out my risk tolerance at 6k shares at average $0.525/share.
GLTA!
Grabbed 5k shares here for a gamble. GLTA
I've seen many different takes on the after-sale state of the company and your guesstimate is in-line with many other's expectations.
The only wild card here is this: does the company reinvest in the future, pay cash to shareholders, or buy back stock? Any of the above will affect the share-price meaningfully in some fashion, also to varying degrees both short and long term.
It is a truly unique play to be in at this time.
You never know!
I just chose to get out with a small profit than take a risk it retreats. I had a similar experience a number of years ago in KGJI (King gold jewelry) another Chinese company that fell from high valuation on dodgy fins.
They, too, promised audited fins after getting a similar muck-raking report against them (which caused the fall, much like here) and just never delivered.
Best of luck to you and everyone else!
In for 1000 shares eod until tomorrow sometime.
Out with ~330 in profit. This thing was tanked due to a muddy waters report they "refuted" last year with "proof". GLTA
Bought 1k shares here. Here's nothing!
Low volume and a steady rise. Liking the start to this week so far!
The original poster of this comment replied with this when pressed for additional context:
" I am not a technician by any means. So, my definition of “normal trading range” is in the context of what I have repeatedly posted herein (ie a valuation of $3.60 to $4.60).
To me, it does not make “a lick of sense” to project the future price from a historical chart pattern particularly when the future expectations of economic conditions contradict the chart readings. I will not debate it. Sorry!
If I am wrong and the company guides beyond my expectations, I believe I can always jump back in.
However, given the new research not shown on the stock chart and the amount of gains I had, it made sense for me to get out.
Flotek is a smaller company now. So, it’s valuation is not reflective of it’s historical chart.
That said, if the company guides the current quarter beyond $70mm and the expenses are well under control, the stock, imo, will rise to the $4 dollar range easy. That was my old expectation considering a full quarter for FC which is supposed to close by the end of March. Now, I am less optimistic that the company will report those numbers for the 1Q19.
By the way, if I am proven wrong, I can always jump back in if the guidance warrants it. JMHO."

Just sharing this in the interest of the board.
Thanks!

Thanks for the read.
