$86 million left at the end of Q3... Sweet..
No one is talking about this? WHY? It was with 5 patients.....
As I have said, go back and look at the day of Ariad's earnings release over the last 8 quarters. 75% of the time Ariad is down much more than the market. FOR THAT DAY. What so hard to understand? It has nothing to do with th ecredit crisis, or the phase of the moon. This happens with high beta stocks all the time. But, and I think this is somehow lost, it's FOR THE ONE DAY.. meaningless.. But, I'm comfortable to say that that trend will be broken, probably with this Q3 earnings..
The $25 million should have been booked in Q3.. I'm trying to remember if they will book all of it in Q3, and work it through the P/L statement, or is it accounted over Q3 and Q4.
All the PUTS activity, and the earnings overhang is weighing down the SP..
glass_half_full, think of it this way.. The banks have told Greece that, "We accept your offer of us receiving 50% of our money back from you." Greece responds, "That's nice, let me first talk to my "family", and we will get back with you."
I can only hope that Papandreou leaves this meeting in tears.. What a thug..

I was just hoping the bailout deal would allow us some time to help delay the inevitable... Bk of Greece. Sorry for the off topic...
GHF, I believe you are in the minority:
Europe's days-old plan to solve its crippling debt crisis and restore faith in the global economy has been thrown into chaos by the Greek prime minister's stunning decision to call a referendum on the country's latest rescue package.
glass half full, think of what your saying.. The Greek pols negotiatied huge, and I mean huge austerity measures to keep them in the Euro. The EU put together a framework to accept this, and also bring the banks together to accept this at a price of a 50% haircut on the Greek bonds they own. Now, you are saying they are going to put this up for a vote with the citizenry of Greece, which 3/4 of them are unionized? The chance of rejection of this package by the citizen of Greece is 99%, and it is all thrown away and they start over? Never gonna happen that way..
Sorry, the Greek politicians are not that stupid.. Thay have nothing to bargan with..
I don't think so..
On Nov. 7, ASH abstracts released for Ariad, according to our friend Adam from the Street.com
Roche(RHHBY) analyst/investor meeting.
American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meeting research abstracts released: Ariad Pharmaceuticals(ARIA_), Celgene(CELG_), YM BioSciences(YMI_).

Good place to position is in the next day or two....
This Greek tragedy is surreal.. First, the Greek government agrees to the austerity measures with all the members of the Euro Zone, and now, they want to take it to a vote of the people!! This is insane!
You've got to marvel how Mr. Market sucks them in and then spits them out..
well, I hope dew and bth don't leave. Seems kind of weak if they do. I just don't like the disingenuous attack on Berger from the far past..
I have followed Dew on the BVF thread and trust me he has come forward with a number of posts that say, "good point" to the other posters. He can be humble, which is terrific.. Don't drink the Koolaid.. This is not an exact science and is not easy..
I think this run is done.. for now
We are hold up stunningly well so far..
And, he still holds those shares.. Over a six bagger.. When will he lighten up?
Why SNY you ask?
Well, Barron's had a great write up on SNY that described a deep and robust pipeline, including oncology. Rather have them than a US big cap drug company for sure. You guys should read some of these investment publications once in awhile..... expand your horizons..
On low volume, but we'll take it.....
As I mentioned earlier, I think the slide from Dr. Berger's presentation from last Friday, showing Pona effectively being used for 800 days on patients that have already failed three other TKI's, speaks volumes on Dr. Berger's confidence.. He's got the goods..
If Harvey's slide yesterday on the patients that have been on Pona for 800 days, with the T mutation, after failing THREE other TKI's, and still no progression doesn't place a floor under the stock, not sure what will...
DewDiligence, it sure looks like you posted your message on the wrong board.. By accident?
Some good information in Harvey's presentation today.. Harvey really, really wants to go it alone for all the compounds in their pipeline, and there are indeed new compounds for new indications on the way.. Middle of 2012 is the date for the FDA to respond on their answer with Rida for Sarcoma.
Really? LEAPS are available? Have not seen them yet...
iandy, FWIW, you may want to add the event happening this Friday:

That's what I'm looking for..some public announcement on compassionate usage
I'm hoping that the December data on Pona will allow for an announcement that allows for immediate compassion use for CML..
Testing 1, 2, 3.....
Seeing if this still works...
rurik, is this recent, and if so, do you have a link?
Tnx.
I thoroughly enjoy short term melt-ups!
There is nothing wrong with a risk on trade that lasts a few days..
