Maybe they stopped the order when it became apparent that TV manufacturers were stepping up to the plate and building smart 4k's.
The NP-1 was only a stepping stone to get ULTRAFLIX out there.
Now that Sony, Samsung etc are building the platform to support ULTRAFLIX, seems like a pretty smart move by NTEK to see early on that the NP-1 was not going to be needed for the mass roll out of ULTRAFLIX.

Empty box? JVC and Panasonic don't think so. JVC will have NP-1's in their showroom. Stated by JVC.
Panasonic used the NP-1 to stream video at CES2014, which NTEK won an award for.

Why ULTRAFLIX will ultimately attract much better content than Netflix.
Content providers would rather partner their content with a service that fetches $2-$10 each rather than $8 for the whole lot (SD).
Right now, Netflix has a fair selection of AAA content but most of their content is C rated.
4K is the best excuse yet for a rate hike and CP's know it too.
Even Netflix know's it and charges more for 4k, (12UHD).
And people will pay it too, just to get all they can out of their brand spank'n new 4k's.

Wrong. Many movies, especially academy award winners, continue to bring in heavy bank for many, many years.
I know it's hard, but face the fact, Interstellar is a great movie and it's going to be on UltraFlix in 4k.
