Who really knows, Mr. Dane?
I agree...hence my partial sell off
Dr. F, it seems we pretty much agree. Of course, a significant PR changes everything, but I expect to be a buyer again pretty soon.
The $1.60 target I keep "harping" about is approximately the 50 day moving average, which the share price has hit the last few pullbacks. Pretty far from a WAG, but if that's how you see it, it's ok with me.
At the end of 2009, the share price was hovering at the 50-day, about $.80. In mid-February it pulled back to the 50-day at about $.91. Around St. Patrick's day it also pulled back to the 50-day at about $1.12. The trends right now suggest the 50-day and the share price might meet in a couple weeks at around $1.70, maybe $1.75, as the 50-day is heading up pretty rapidly.
Farther back in time, the 50-day has not been as predictive. It may not mean anything now either. That's the gamble, I guess.
Hey, buy and hold is a perfectly legitimate strategy, and if that's your POV, I have no problem. But I think this view is also legit, and should at least be respected.
"Quiet Period" seems to apply exclusively to NNVC. Hello $1.60.
It probably is closer to 1.85 in my case. If we sit above 2 bucks for another couple weeks, I'll probably get back in fully at that level. By doing this a few times over the past 4 years on around a third of my shares, my cost per share has gotten pretty low (almost negative).
I'm just throwing it out there, nobody else has to do it. This time it may not work...but I still have 2/3rds. It's a fairly common hedge.
Thanks. It sounds like they need to research how and if it works on dengue (papaya leaves). There is some anecdotal evidence I've read about.
History say 1.60 is possible, maybe even likely. A pr could change that dramatically. It's pretty simple, really.
I don't know anything about papaya leaves, and frankly only a little about how nanoviricides might work. I hold a fairly large number of shares (for me, anyway) maunly because I hope they will work. But ... (see above)
That is kinda what I'm thinking as well. But I may pull the trigger a little above that that level.
Thanks nanopatent. I get a lot out of your posts.
I agree completely. IMO a break downward is more likely, with the 50ma of around 1.60 the likely bottom.
A MATERIAL PR changes everything, of course.
Hey Doc-
Not cheerless. Not doom and gloom. Just quiet...and time for a little more pullback before the next big rally.
Hang in there!
He also could be going to take in an art exhibit.
I'm now lighter on this stock than at any point in the last 3 years. Nice gain, may miss the really big move, but I'll take 4x.
It's getting a bit too long for my taste. I may lighten up a little more today.
This board sure is a lot more entertaining when Ovidius is participating!
NNVC, on the other hand, is somehow holding price with no news and an extended "quiet period". AFter all the action, it's getting boring.
Holding the "hold" shares and waiting for a buying opportunity.
Doc-Don't you think that we all are drinking the Kool-Aide at least some of the Time?
I like the Kool-Aide reference.
That settles the issue, I hope. Thanks.
I don't get the whole painting the tape scenario that's played on this stock almost every day.
A lousy hundred shares trade well below the bid on a regular basis, especially at the close. Obvious price manipulation.
Scottrade bid is over $2.10. What's the change vs yesterday?
Pre-market is 4500.
I went against my own view and bought a little near the close. I don't like buying on emotion, and am fairly sure I bought too soon....but .25 is hard to pass up. Each day that's down I just might do the same thing. If we get to that $1.60 level, however, I will buy a fair number of additional shares.
At 1.60, I will increase my total holdings and therefore increase both my long-term hold position and my "trading" shares.
I'm still thinking $1.60, based on the past patterns. Get ready to buy at that point!
The pattern suggests somewhere around $1.60 will be the bottom. The stock seems to pull back to around its 50 day moving average, which is currently passing through $1.50. It has done this several times. Will it this time? Who knows!
I keep 2/3rds through all the ups and downs and trade 1/3. I will start buying around $1.70. If we get a PR and the stock takes off, great! If we don't, I'll lower my average cost a couple more dimes.
The pattern is starting to look very familiar, albeit at a new level. I'll be waiting to buy more ... AFTER the pullback.
everyone have a nice weekend!
it fell a quarter! what the heck do i know?
I took a third off the table early and by the time I got back in whole i broke even. one of these days i'll learn to just hold.
You were right about the hard bounce, but I had a few extra cents to play with. Got fully back in with a few cents left over. Lucky again.
Didn't do nearly as well today as earlier this week. I need to learn to just let things sit. Much less nerve wracking.
THe times they are a changin'.
Meanwhile, we are in free fall....when to buy them back?
The SEC is going after Goldman. It may take a while but deliberate manipulation is obvious and can be prosecuted.
Fidelity isn't looking out for you, that is 100% certain. They can offer you 15% return only because they're planning to squeeze 30% out of your share value.
Give it the sniff test and it fails!
I've got an offer to buy at 2.29 and the board shows best offer 2.26. otc.bb sucks
Man! We have got to get off this exchange! The AMEX might be bad, but can it be this bad?
I am definitely buying if we get to $2.30!!
Just as soon not see it (ever again!), but I would not turn down a buying opportunity.
Pretty strong start Doctor F. Couldn't be too many paying attention to the bashing?? I do wonder about the 3 cent spread...
Wow. The chatter has really died down. Sell signal?
Looks like we'll have a buying opportunity here in just a couple days. I don't expect a pr tomorrow, and if there isn't anything Monday I will probably buy more...
My best to your mom. The board is not the same without your positive outlook.
thanks I'm actually a pool guy.
Almost 2 Million shares. $2.43. Can hardly wait for some real news!
Where's the weedhopper when we need a cheer?
what's the plan?
I can do that.
In the final analysis, happiness, health and freedom have nothing to do with Democrats or Republicans or Faux News. Your future is in your hands. If you lay around, eat junk, and pop vicodin you will almost certainly be miserable. If you toil away endlessly for an amoral corporate entity you will almost certainly feel frustrated and unfulfilled. If you spend your time trying to one-up everyone else with the latest zinger you are fighting an unwinnable war.
NNVC holds much potential in at least 2 very meaningful ways. First and foremost is the potential to make humanity healthier. NNVC is working to eliminate several diseases that I have dealt with up close and I want gone. If it can also help me plan for retirement and pay my daughter's college bills, so much the better.
Off the soapbox....
Hey! Lighten up. It's a play on words.
