77,000 deaths to date now. Slowing down thankfully, but should pass 100,000 by June 1st.
With so much of the country staying away from each other and its not even "flu season" any more. Imagine what the death toll would have been if the US had stayed open while it was still "flu season". 300,000 - 500,000 maybe ?
3 days ago I posted this very simple statement:
Memorial day is just 3 weeks away. Lots of places will be partially open for business by then.
And you've been going nuts over it ever since.
So I'm done. But you need to ask yourself why you felt the need to spend 3 days on a witch hunt gotcha quest over such a benign statement.
Over 73,000 deaths now. Looks like that "liar" Dr. Fauci is still on target.
Hi Arizona1, I didnt say they wouldnt open. I said there's no problem with the US partially opening. Which you didnt understand and you immediately went into "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE !!" mode.
So I explained what I meant by partially opening. By saying bars and concerts wouldnt open for a long time - because it would be nearly impossible for them to implement the same operating rules as a Walmart. I repeatedly explained that all I meant was that non-essential businesses that can implement the same operating rules as Walmart and Home Depot should be allowed to open.
I was giving you my definition of "partially opening" - not making prediction. Yet you immediately started falsely accusing me of being involved with (by "predicting") some states allowing bars and concerts to operate. How weird.
So the real question is why do you feel the need to invent a reason to argue with me - over nothing - and then spend 2 days trying (unsuccessfully) to witch hunt gotcha with me. You really need to find a way to stop falsely accusing people of stuff.
No I was right. You're the ones that's wrong. For some bizarre reason you objected to this:
partially open means masks, forehead temperature testing, spacing. If 40 people can push carts around a grocery store, they can do the same thing in a TJ Maxx. Not to mention small shops that only have 2 or 3 people in them anyways.
And you keep trying to play witch hunt gotcha.
Get over it.
I'm simply pointing out the fact that you were wrong when you stated bars and concerts wouldn't be opening for a long time.
I only said that cuz you objected to the thought of other places opening that can easily operate with the same rules as places that are currently allowed to operate.
So lay of the gotcha stuff and accept that non-essential small businesses can be allowed to open too.
I'm not sure why you're trying to blame me for some state deciding to allow bars to be open.
Why not accept the fact that if Walmarts and Home Depots and Costcos and grocery stores can operate there shouldnt be any problem with other stores opening.
And lay off the progressive media style witch hunt gocha stuff.
71,000 now. 100,000 by the end of May seems very likely. 120,000 by end of June ? 130,000 by end of July ?
Its not just another flu virus.
Hi arizona1, i'm not sure why you're arguing with me on this. I'm not responsible for someone else's bad decision making.
All I said was that if Walmart and Home Depot can open, then lots of other businesses should be able to open if the follow the same rules as they do.
So there's no need to go "progressive media witch hunt gotcha" on me.
Fauci and other members of Trump’s task force last month unveiled a horrific estimate holding that between 100,000 and 240,000 Americans could die from the virus, even if social distancing guidelines were stringently maintained.
We're at 69,000 deaths as of today, so 100,000 to 240,000 seems correct. 100,000 definitely by the end of this month or early June. 150,000 - 200,000 if there's a second wave later this year.
So Fauci is correct, Trump agrees with him, and so he's not a liar.

I am intelligent enough to do my own research and make up my own mind.
Then you're intelligent enough to know that the current death toll from this proves that Dr. Fauci's estimate (and now Trump's) was right.
Yet you've been calling him a liar for 2 weeks now.
Concerts Allowed in Missouri Starting Monday, Texas Okays Theaters as States Chart Reopening Plans
Nothing forces people to attend them. I dont plan to hang out (other than to shop or go to a fairly empty restaurant) in an indoor public place for at least another year.
Did you know that restaurants also have bars? LOLOL
Close off the section of the restaurant that has the bar. Also, the seating capacity of any restaurant will be 1/3 - 1/2 of what it was before.
And the last time I checked, clothing stores and small offices didnt have bars. So if large superstores like Home Depot and Walmart can be open - why can't they ?
See how easy that was.
Hi arizona1, what part of partially did you not understand ?
Partially - not totally.
Just post the names of the liars you worship so we can all find them online and tell them what morons they are.
If Trump says Dr Fauci is right then so should you.
Hi arizona1, partially open means masks, forehead temperature testing, spacing. If 40 people can push carts around a grocery store, they can do the same thing in a TJ Maxx. Not to mention small shops that only have 2 or 3 people in them anyways.
Obviously bars and concerts won't happen for a lonnnggggh time.
Memorial day is just 3 weeks away. Lots of places will be partially open for business by then.
Maybe then everyone will stop whining.
And the Trump administration believes him
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/lisettevoytko/2020/05/04/report-internal-trump-administration-coronavirus-model-predicts-3000-daily-deaths-by-june/amp/
So just accept the fact for the past 2 weeks you've been worshipping and defending math challenged liars.
Trump says up to 100,000 Americans may die from coronavirus
Just like I did.
https://news.yahoo.com/trump-hold-virtual-town-hall-204953597.html
You need to reject the people you are defending and worshipping. They are lying to you. With Trump now using my estimate and not the estimate of your arithmetic challenged liars, at least now it's obvious.
By the way this 100,000 number is just the first wave. There will be a second wave once "America re-opens". But hopefully the cases will be spread out and the number of deaths wont seem as overwhelming.
Just proving that 80,000+ people died from the common flu
80,000 people died from flu that year while interacting without restraint.
We've lost 67,000 now with nearly 2 months of staying at home and distancing. If we had acted like the "common flu" that number would be 5 - 10 times higher.
Its sad that the people who you believe in cant get that through their skulls. Are then mentally ill or delusional ? (Hint: yes they are). So you may want to find someone else to treat like infallible Gods.
So you're basically proving that shutting our country down for 2 months was the right thing to do.
Yet you don't know it.
Interesting.
66,000 deaths so far. It will easily surpass 100,000 at this rate.
Yup, France, Germany, Spain, and the UK sure screwed up !
But when Italy put Lombardy in lockdown, I went 100% to cash and was spared the 30% in the stock market. Cuz I acted early.
Hi bbotcs, did I think it was strange ? I think everyone thinks it's strange, yet for some reason the MSM seems to be giving China a pass.
Probably cuz china isn't running for re-election.
hi bbotcs, dontcha love 20-20 hindsight ? Could you imagine the international firestorm that would have occurred if Trump had banned international travel and cruises in the 1st half of January - when he would have needed to ?
Heck when he just banned flights from China in late January it started a "He's a racist !!" firestorm.
The truth of the matter is we were screwed before anyone could react in any way that could have prevented this.
But I will say that its terrible that its taken so log to ramp up testing - which we'll need a lot more of before we can fully reopen.
65,000 deaths as of this morning. Should be no problem getting to that 100,000 "panic creating" death toll prediction.
And that doesnt even count the death toll there will be from the second wave.
63.000 deaths now we're still tracking to hit 100,000.
Dont cheery pick innuendo that fits your mistaken belief. I could just as easily cherry pick info to counter it.
The fact remains that the experts predicted over a MILLION Americans would die unless President Trump locked down the country
This seems about right. So they people who are lying are the people you believe. Kinda sad that you're giving blind allegiance to false prophets.
Hi mr40 - 61,000 as of this morning.
Some experts say it's off by 'tens of thousands'
Yeah that means the number could be much higher.
As for your other posts of denial - if a person needs a ventilator cuz they had corona virus, then they died of corona virus. Same goes for having a pre-existing condition that the virus takes advantage of.
And the misidentifying cause of death is probably only a small percentage.
And then there's the people dying at home. And then there's the people who died of something else cuz they didnt want to go to a corona virus infected hospital.
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-fdny-idUSKBN21P3KF
So if anything, the official number is too low.
Please tell that to the people who are telling you the predictions are a lie.
60,000 deaths now - it wont be long before you're gonna have to stop calling them liars. Probably by June. And there are already millions of Americans who have the virus, sooooo they're already correct about that. And that makes your sources wrong.
And instead say the people you believe are the liars.
And dont worry, I'll post the number of US deaths here every day just to remind you.
58,000 now. So it appears I'm tracking to be more correct than the liars you believe.
Yup 50,000 deaths in an environment where 97% of the population is in essential work only and stay at home mode.
And we've basically peaked so there will be another 50,000 deaths in the downslope for a total of 100,000 deaths.
And if we hadn't stayed at home there would have been 5 to 10 times as many deaths which would have been a horrific 500,000 to 1,000,000 deaths.
So let me tell you who the liars are -- the people who you believe.
Insightful post bbotcs.
Hey Al, so many false narratives ...... so little point in correcting them.
But interesting to read. In pre-internet times, you'd have to go to a park and listen to a nut case with a megaphone to hear some of this stuff. Now its delivered right to our computers.
At 2000 deaths per day we'll be at 100,000 dead from this either directly or indirectly soon enough.
But its really only as bad as the flu. lol
When the facts prove you wrong, simply deny the facts. Straight out of the conspiracy theorist handbook.
Pretzel logic. Denial of facts. Blind alegience to a false narrative. Who do you think you are ? Ayock ? Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
Even under national lockdown conditions, 50,000 people have died from this ..... so far. I'm guessing it'll be 80,000 - 100,000 by July.
So lets recap:
1. "Its just like the flu" - FALSE
2. "The estimates were far worse than the reality" FALSE - if we hadnt shut down, there would have been thousand and thousands of people dying in hospital hallways.
3. "The cure is worse than the disease" - FALSE - See item #2.
The Right Wing narrative has be wrong every step of the way.
The only thing this guy said that was right was this:
states should craft policies that focus on protecting the elderly and those with chronic underlying conditions. Targeting that segment of the population, although it's smaller, will have the greatest impact on minimizing hospitalizations (preventing the health care system from becoming overwhelmed) and reducing deaths.
Once testing (even forehead temperature meters for starters) has ramped up enough. And we're just a few weeks away from that. If our country cant handle stay-at-home for 2 short months - one of which is already over - what does that say about us ?
lol hi Al, he may not exactly said it, but he didnt not say it either. As is often the case there tends to be a difference between what he says and what he means.
He should not be randomly musing during any meeting with the press. Especially with a press that hates his guts. A man of his business experience and public person experience should have learned that years ago.
But if his intention was to make this crisis about him instead of about getting back to normal - he succeeded !
Thanks for posting that Al. Maybe you should send it to the NYT along with the ABC News story that made it clear that by the time China fess'ed up, it was already too late.
And that at the time, the NYT and the rest of their media friends were so obsessed with the impeachment story, they ignored this one.
Until it became a story they could blame Trump for. Then they went nuts over it.
Hi Al, like I said, stories containing two false narratives being published over and over again. Ya gotta wonder how many people earn their livings writing this kind of fiction ?
So the NYT writes a revisionist history piece that conveniently leaves out all the facts that would refute their claim.
And then you've got the right wing who claims this pandemic is overblown and the stay at home stuff was unnecessary - unable to connect the dots that the stay at home orders is what diminished the severity of the out break.
Two large groups of people shouting lies at each other. Welcome to America in the 21st century.
Heart disease isn't an infectious disease you get get by some sneezing ... a few feet away from you.
And just a reminder, the 2000 Corona virus deaths per day are occuring while stay at home orders are in place. God only knows what the day death toll would be if we were all out and about infecting each other.
I'm sorry you and many other right wingers can't see the relationship between the stay at home orders and the reduced number of deaths.
But it's really really obvious.
