Those who are negative on this stock see everything that happens as a negative, but to say that an area can only have one big store is really silly - all over upstate, even in depressed areas, there are drugstores and Wegmans all over the place - and there is market for all of them. I don't like what has occurred with our share price, but that doesn't mean that Hacketts can't be a big, successful chain. Come on guys!
Waiting for word on the grand opening. Hope it is a blast!
Think Tom will lay a big AH surprise on us so we can be happy all weekend? Is Fri., 13th actually lucky???
Hey, what just happened???30million???
with the big dump at open, I'd say we are doing good to end even on a Friday night with no news. Hope for a big bang of a store opening tomorrow!
AP, the problem we have as shareholders is not knowing Tom's committment to SWVC. When I got in I thought that he planned to do all his business through SWVC, and he supposedly signed personally for financial liability. Now Swartz is here and he has a history of dumping debt into a company and the r/s it to death. If Tom cleared up his position with us, we wouldn't be down here in the dumps. Of course, I am VERY worried now.
what?? I don't understand your post...
come on, light, if you were holding Berkshire-hathaway shares instead of SWVC, Warren Buffett wouldn't return your calls, but you would trust HIM!
Tom set up the company so that he could maintain total control of it, total ownership, and total decisionmaking. I didn't buy in thinking he planned to take our money by selling shares and then r/s and take it private, even though we have seen KK do it to others since we have been shareholders. But the threats to Tom just make it that much easier for him to justify taking back the entire company from us, and deeping it for himself. At the time he met Shwartz he was trying to raise the money for agrifuels. He now has the money - he and Kevin and KK's wife are all in this together, and although you may be able to "get even" with Tom by attacking him in the press, he will easily have ways to justify what he has done. Public or private, these companies will benefit the north country and nobody really cares if shareholders lost their money. We are probably screwed - but some of you are just making it easier for Tom to feel good about his choices.
Wall Street, if you know what is going on it would be a real service to the long suffering shareholders to spill it. Otherwise some of us may lose more than our financial futures. why doesn't Tom clear up this mess?
Last summer I was totally behind this company - the auditors Tom brought in were straight-shooters and Tom seemed like the MAN - but now I just don't know if he will do what I know he could do, and that is to save the common share value for us investors. He could just let the common stock die and blame it on the economy and oil prices like so many big, high profile companies are doing. If he lets us down, he has no idea how many upstate folks he is destroying to fulfill his big green energy dream. I thought he was going to let us all in on it - but what if he keeps it all for his own private company? All he has to do is play it straight with us.....will he?????
is Item 8.01 in our 8k?
oh, I guess Etrade is just screwed up, again.
out of cash right now - will someone put in a test buy and print that .003, please.
what's up with .0012 x .003?
The announcement of the Canton opening is just confirmation that we haven't been forgotten by management and they are not going to trash this company for the sake of private interests in biofuel. We have to accept that SWVC is in retail and hospitality, but that is not all bad - those areas could thrive in an economic downturn (stay-cations, shopping locally, local summer tourism, and BEER-DRINKING); biofuels will take decades to turn a profit and may not be such a sure thing for stock value. I continue to hope that Tom will do the right thing for his SWVC shareholders.
when this hits a nickel, I'm buying drinks at Sackets Brew Pub! ( I will have moved back with my family and be taking care of them)
There could be announcements like opening of new Hacketts, beer distribution contracts, franchise contracts, other amenitites going into Hacketts, Sackets Harbor promos, alteri's backery parties...ETC
BJ's profit was reported up 26% and our guys have experience with BJ's. (one of the Joes). A big retail opportunity exists even in these hard times, not to mention BEER distribution. Not to mention folks saving money by shopping locally and vacationing closer to home in Sackets. I just hope these guys are motivated to make SWVC a success. It could happen.
got some at 33 and 3 just to help the cause, and in the long run also to save myself. I need to survive this for a very important obligation.
Come ON Tom....make it so!
If you like it now you and I will REALLY like it at 3 to 5 cents.
The freak-out is over now and we can get back to building a company. Go Tom!
do you have a solid reason for this to happen? sure would be nice to know if there is good news ahead. Dark here today!
I don't know if SWVC can be successful with Hackets and North country alone - I think that the biofuels business has to be part of our holding. That is what I counted on when I first got in to this stock when it was GSCR. Now waiting for the "reward" for saving GS.
If it would just clear up some of the questions hanging over us, maybe the value and interest in SWVC could start to improve. So much fear here now - Tom needs to let us know more about the bus. plan!
good morning AP. You think the filing will have something in it to turn this trend around? I am so ready for good news.
what I mean: the restructuring from gscr to swvc, hacketts with wisebuys, KK deal with agrifuels (that I thought we were getting but instead they took it private)...share reduction from 700mm+ back to 186mm....all happened befor the football game. So what did Tom have in mind for the company before he met Swartz?????
Maybe Tom's new buddies have taught him that taking shareholder money is like candy from a baby...now that I think back it was weird that this deal was made at a football game. Earth to Tom...straighten this out for us.
How do we do that at this time? I thought that Tom had a good business plan back when, but now he is getting mixed up with shady characters and not talking to us commoners anymore. What can we do?
so what is your best guess of what happens next?
That is a good question, Mav. If Tom could remove the fear of a R/S from SWVC then the stock could rise to it's true value based on the businesses already in operation. But what are the chances that we could be the first company that Swartz ever touched that he did not R/S? Did Tom bring him in to be the hit man? A business major from Syracuse University equates to slimy, greedy snake, and that is being unfair to snakes!
would it be good if we couldn't get filled today? sorry, but I got 100,000 each of three times this afternoon. .004, .0039, .0038 is this bad?
is everyone just holding their breath for the 10? Etrade shows no ask????
so you expect the 10 to do something for us shareholders? I sure hope so. If dilution stops and expansion of the business continues we will gain value even though we paid too much for the shell. Tom will reward his shareholders?
Friday we get a fabulous 10Q at 4:00 EDT, everyone analyzes it all weekend, and Monday it will be chased up to the moon. I already have my shares.
Hi tex, I just had to add a million today - sure hope I'm not making a mistake.
Yes, the positive argument is that SWVC uses a reputable accounting firm, has real assets, employees and operating businesses, financing from a venture capital firm, a partner who develops franchise deals - and a CEO with business track record. All they havew to do is legit business, but can they resist the temptation to be greedy? Do they look down on the common shareholder as insignificant ants to be stepped on? Will they treat the shareholder fairly or reverse split us and take all the assets for their private ownership? All Tom has to do is clarify these questions for our benefit, and we have a promising future holding stock in SWVC.
Is it time to buy more?
Another thought: if this was the end of dilution and now Tom was going to build value for SWVC, even that could work, but once he has his hand in our cookie jar for as much money as he wants anytime he wants, it may be hard to stop the bleeding. Tom, it is time to come clean here!! (oh, I guess he isn't reading this board anymore).
