A shame. I look at it like the company announcing to the world that they believe it is worth more and companies will have to try harder.
I would like to see a NR about a declined offer (even if they keep the name quiet~ disclosure rules and all). Then you will see this jump!
That is exactly the approach needed. Caution!
Welcome to a new level? The high 6's?
Red flag? Or one off?
I hope they got at least one in writing. Maybe then they could put out a NR not naming said company, but getting the ball rolling.
The only question then is when?
This is probably the most realistic scenario. IF, someone is interested, it will take time for their DD and offer. AND, the first may not be earthshaking.
A gift? Hmmm. Would all shareholders agree with the current patent approvals? I think it could be worth more. I don't consider 7.5 cents a gift and I know many who expect more.
Clearly you missed my point. The issue is not to get emotional and specifically lay out a plan on showing value to the market to increase the pps. Getting emotional will not change people's opinions.
I for one will be waiting to see the company illustrate and execute their business model.
That is an opinion. People bet that the market has undervalued a company. If the market agrees, the sp reflects their opinion. Although I disagree with him, Sunspotters opinion is the closest to reality reflected by the current sp.
It is up to company management to change reality by doing the following:
1) Illustrate to the market exactly how these patents bring value and who is infringing currently on the patents as they stand. This sends an argument to the broader market that there is greater value here. This can be done by showing shareholders and the market a 'business plan'.
2) If there are offers for the company, these need to be spelled out in specifics. This cannot be of the sort " Oh, btw, we have had interest by some fortune 500 companies".
I think then you will see your opinion reflected in reality.
Nothing would make me happier if the market suddenly decides, after Sept 19 and 24th (RBR and 911 cert deliveries) that we have a $1 stock.
Thus altering the reality and creating a perceived value of the company translating into a real price. We are arguing the same thing except that I am saying that right now there is no one translating the real value (patents) into perceived value (pps) and therefore REALITY is that the pps is worth 7 cents or so.
Hey, reality is a funny thing. If that happens, then yes, 50 cents is the right price. Once underlying value is created through the patents, it is up to management to create the new reality IMO.
Well, right now the market is right. If it goes to $1, then the market would be right at that time too...Our hopes don't move the market unfortunately.
The market is always right. So we just don't know right now why 7 cents is the correct price...
"Sept 7, 2013. VPLM has received confirmation from the USPTO on most of its IP"
The pps should be over 8 cents now. This doesn't smell just yet....
Hey, I hope you are right and I am wrong!
Wouldn't that be nice. But I think from the CC they want to wait until the certs are "in-hand" for the major ones. That means 9/17 for the 911 patent, 9/24 for RBR and potentially early Nov for MG, I think.
Good to know. Although with it out of the way, there would be no excuse for this to fly.
Does anyone think they will wait for the results of patent application #5?
More and more it is looking like they are going to wait until nov sometime (or dec). The MG patent in hand point is likely in Nov. They also might wait for patent 5 (endpoint changes), but that is unclear.
Well said!
IMO they want to stay as far away from licensing as possible unless it is a plan C. A direct sale is clean and efficient..
The result would be a contingency payment or a mild dilution under the 850-900 million share limit. Still, it would provide the funding entity with incentive, but the payoff would be phenomenal!
Yep! It is ruthless and will take ruthless leadership. I doubt it will go to fruition. Expect 60-90 days to play out...
This is the precise reason why I suggest (when they are ready) to approach the biggest offender and make and offer....
Exactly. This is where the money will come from. So it is a good plan B, IMO.
That is bang on spec! Plus, many investment firms would be more than happy to front some $$ for the case in exchange for a cut of the payoff.
It was a comment related to my post #6654 on the direction I believe the should take (after Nov 30 perhaps?)...
Well regardless of what method they choose (I still think they have a case), many shareholders would agree it is time to present VPLM to the world.
Say... CISCO for example, has $65 billion listed in current assets in their Q4 FY2013. For VPLM, as a courtesy, to offer them the patents for $5 billion, CISCO could turn around and hit every offender with a lawsuit and recover 5x the amount invested. Not a bad investment for their shareholders IMO.
Vplm probably does have a $25 billion company. The real question is how the company will show value to get the most they can.
If it were me, I'd target one of the biggest offenders, offer them the company for a certain value ( say $5 billion). If the company balks, find one of the best patent lawyers, give them a % of the proceeds and take the offender to court. Within 2-3 months, IMO it would scare all of the offenders into taking the company out for significantly more than what they would get just shopping. Maybe it would be the difference between a $2 pps vs $10 pps IMO...
An offer of how much? Or is it too soon to speculate?
That is certainly an interesting take on it, but I understand what you suggest.
That would be anyone's guess. You might guess as well as me. People are on here to make money, so likely they want to make money.
Management team on website
I see the company changed the website info to reflect the new management team. I know it is small, but well done!!
It is the "patent term adjustments" tab
Go into the patent tab of the RBR and 911 applications. You will see that they will get the cert for 911 on the 17th of sept and for RBR on the 24th of sept.
