He who laughs last.....
Albania is selling off, either as a sale, or as a concessionaire many of their hydro power sites. I am going at it from the other direction , trying to determine the concessionaires or companies Albania has signed contracts with.
I have another inquiry with a Albanian Ministry, I don't expect a reply, but I never expected one from my other request either.
It was a good exercise for a rainy Sunday, hopefully the business news service may provide me with the list I am looking for.
My other request is with a Albanian Ministry Department,
My Albanain is not that good :)
Between these requests, and Crusader in Germany, we might find out what happened.
Well, I am shocked. I actually received a reply from one of inquiries this weekend, but unfortunately, they did not have detailed information, yet.
I have 1 more inquiry outstanding, who knows?
Dear Scott
Unfortunately, I dont have informations as below right now. Will contact someone I know and will also soon travel to Albania hopefully amonst others I can find out more on what is going on.
Many best regards

I have just read with interest your July 2011 report on Albania hydropower.
I have been following this as best I can, which can be difficult in the US.
I remember from a January news release that a company, Rudana Investment Group, since dissolved, had signed contracts worth 5 billion with the Albanian government.
Do you have any idea what happened to those projects, have they been re bid, or are they going to be completed by 3Power Energy Group?
Is there a list available of all the hydropower projects in Albania and the concessionaires which have already been contracted by the Albanian government.
I greatly appreciate any information that you are able to share.
Scott
Whew! Glad he's not with us, I think. :)
FBI has arrested the US businessman that operated in hydropower plant construction in Albania. FBI declared that Paul John McMann, a 52 year old from Weston, Boston, has been arrested a few days ago in Cyprus, where he was hiding.
FBI had issued an international arrest order on wire fraud charges with a value of 1.6 million USD. The businessman who led the company “Commonwealth Albanian Hydro Ventures, Inc”, is accused of forging bank documents for receiving a loan of 450,000 USD. “Shqip” newspaper says that FBI has announced that on 10 November 2010, Paul John McMann, 52-year-old, received three charges for wire and real estate fraud.
McMann stayed far from USA until he was arrested on 10 July 2011, in Cyprus, by the local authorities, in respond to a request released by Interpol. Cyprian authorities brought him at Marshall Center USA on August 4th. On August 10th he is expected to appear in tribunal in front of the judge Boal Jennifer C. According to the official declaration, McMann has registered “Commonwealth Albanian Hydro Ventures, Inc.” on July 2008. This is the company that he used for convincing banks to loan him money on fake documents.
I could average down at the price it is at now, :)
So I will be here a while.
Exactly, I found a report on Albanian work projects and weeded through it for hydro projects, they seem to be issuing RFP’s to build, run and or operate their hydro power. I couldn’t find the names of any of the concessionaires that have already won contracts. Even if Rudana lost their contracts there are still plenty for 3Power to be bidding on, and with Seawind’s expertise I would expect them to pick up a couple.
I have a inquiry in with the Agency that wrote the report looking for more detail but am not optimistic about getting a reply.
But no, I am not counting Albania out just yet.
I have seen websites, dated the current day, pop up with old info before,
I wouldn't be too concerned.
See what shows up Monday
Are you trying to herd cats?
I see its a different jungle down here on IHUB.
On both, PSP$, and STTN, the DD expressly touts the 'long term' potential of the stock, which I feel is true in both cases.
I am looking to get a better feel for the IHUB investor, although, every investor is different and has different objectives.
So, in 2 years, do you expect the PPS of both to be markedly higher.
Good opportunity for this question then;
I am fairly new to IHUB, 7 months in,
and am in 3 stocks, all are long term holds
On IHUB I would call long term hold minimum 6 months :)
Just curious, open to all, how often do you hold a stock on IHUB 6 months , and then how often for 1 year.
I am interested to see the results.
Thanks
Albania Hydro
The new priatisation law looks like it is still manageable, there was a heated debate in Albania whether to keep the plants state owned or privatise, looks like they compromised.
And below that more current info on hydro concessions in Albania.
Hope we are in on these. I would gather even if we lost the Rudana agreements 3Power would still be bidding on some of these.
Hydropower Plants Privatisation Law
Through the Hydropower Plants Privatisation Law, Parliament approved the creation of three new state-owned companies, which will have as their main assets five hydropower plants in the Albanian territory (joint stock company HEC Ulëz-Shkopet for the Ulëz and Shkopet hydropower plants; joint stock company HEC Tirana Lanbregas for the Tirana (Lanabregas) hydropower plant; and joint stock company HEC Bistrica 1 and 2 for the Bistrica 1 and 2 hydropower plants). These three companies have been created with a view to their future privatisation. At the beginning of the process, all three companies will be 100% state owned by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy.
According to the new law, the privatisation does not include the water basins for these hydropower plants, which will remain state public property. The companies will have the right to use only respective water resources, as regulated by the law. The law opens up two different possibilities for the plants:
• transfer of the share ownership rights to third parties; or
• development of the plants through a concession agreement.
A concession agreement would partially satisfy the opponents to privatisation, since - even if privately used - the plants would remain national property.
Albania to award concessions on two hydropower plants.

Albania?s government has decided to award concessions on Lashkize 1 and Lashkize 2 hydropower plants, the government said on its website. The economy ministry will call a tender to select an investor for the plants that will be awarded a build, operate, transfer (BOT) contract. Albania?s power generating sector is highly dependable on water resources with some 98% of the total energy produced by hydropower plants. The output of privately-held small hydropower plants in Albania increased by 78% y/y to 159mn KWh in 2010, but still accounted for only 2% of the country's energy generation.

Electricity generation in 14 small hydropower plants will be launched by end-2011, Albanian Daily News reported, quoting an economy ministry official. The new plants will have a total combined installed capacity of 50MW. Meanwhile, the ministry plans to award more hydropower concessions, as part of the government?s strategy to boost the local energy production sector. As noted, authorities called tenders for 5 BOT concessions only during the last couple of weeks. Albania?s power generating sector is highly dependable on water resources with some 98% of the total energy being produced by hydropower plants. The output of privately-held small hydropower plants in Albania increased by 78% y/y to 159mn KWh in 2010, but still accounted for only 2% of the country's energy generation. Currently, a total of 287 hydropower plants are operating in Albania, including 8 large and 269 small facilities with capacity of bellow 15MW.

Albania Hydro projects - I found the old news release from January, our $5 billion contract, and found a July 2011 report on Albania hydro projects. There is a beehive of activity going on in Albania, but so far I can't tell who the concessionaires are that have gotten the projects. Our original deal mentions Port Romano, which is mentioned in the July report, but not in conjunction with any company. And the total $ amounts are significantly smaller than our original 5 billion. I have made additional inquiries, will see if I get any responses, and will dig some more, I do have a love/hate relationship with my Rudana pals :)
The news release from January….
Swiss consortium to invest over 5 billion dollars in Albania
Tirana - Albania's government Thursday signed a 4-billion- euro (5.35-billion-dollar) deal with Swiss consortium Rudana Investment Group AG for construction of hydropower plants and a refinery in the next four years.
Economy Minister Dritan Prifti told reporters in Tirana that the aim of the project is to build 'a number' of hydropower plants with a capacity of 1000 megawatts per hour.
The deal also envisages building a new refinery in Porto Romano and either opening a new port in Vlora or privatizing the existing one within a four-year period.
Now the July 2011 Project Management Update from Albania
During this year 1280 premises will be privatized
Around 300 premises are privatized and in meantime, 110 other dossiers are ready
privatizing facilities of various importance.
Deputy Minister for Economy, Trade and Energy of Albania, Eno Bozdo said that it is
expected that during this year there will be a completion of privatization process of 1280
facilities. Of course, more facilities are subject to be approved for privatization.
Privatization of these facilities that currently are not functioning, according to Deputy
Minister Bozdo there will be a high positive impact in the economy as many job positions
will be created. Prime Minister Berisha also mentioned that privatization process for the
facilities listed will be completed during second half of this year.
Concessionaires Agreements are the last motive to develop Albanian economy and
infrastructure where tens of facilities and objects are being included from almost all sectors
are foreseen to be sold resulting in a total of at least 1.7 billion USD. A part of this amount
will be invested from private sector.
Currently 7 big hydro power plants are in function and 43 small ones, out of which 10 have
been privatized, 2 under Albanian Energy Corporation, (KESH sh.a.) and 31 hydro power
plants have been given on concession
The government has planned to build a new thermo power plant in
Porto Romano, Vlora with installed capacity of around 130 MgW costing around 130 million
euro. Albanian government is trying to finance this project with different funds be it from
private sector through “Purchasing Power Agreement”.
Any ....day.....now!!!!!
Yes , they may have deep pockets, but seem to prefer OPM instead.
The pop to $2 was for flippers and by flippers, it did not reflect the value of the stock at that time.
Same with STT% and GTG&.
Flippers made their money in those stocks also.
However, the DD was, and is selling the companies as INVESTMENTS,
not a short term flip. So the jury is still out on those 2.
Of the three, PSPW has grown the most and is poised ....to go one way or the other, :)
Actually, if the news blackout is because of management trying to unravel a mess left by Rudana, and the status of their projects, I still feel this stock is worth more than it is currently selling for. I have more faith in the English lads, always did, and only because of them I invested in PSPW.
I am prepared for a long long term hold here, the company is not going anywhere, but will wait for their news release.
One last aspect, at least from my point of view.
How many shares are outstanding...109 million
I would bet that owners of 80 million shares know exactly what is going on here,
Quite frankly, The IHUB crew is only a small minority ownership position and as I see it, has little sway with management.
Also realize that the owners of those 80 million shares make more money the higher the stock price.
There has been steady news from South America, and I guess some from China.....
A lot of the planned projects have gone quiet....
Everything rolled in from the evil secretive Persian consortuim!
Sorry about the evil, I never did, and still won't trust anything Rudana.
I remember being flamed or just ignored every time I questioned Rudana, was told, that was in the past, this is a done deal.
Well, good luck Crusader, hope you find time amongst your travels to find some actual facts,
And in conclusion,
This company is still worth more than $.50 per share without the Rudana assets rolled in, perhaps they have to re bid for them, who knows, but I anm not getting my knickers in a twist , ....
Just yet....
I understand the sentiment, but I personally wouldn't acknoweldge his posts, reminders to new investors to read the DD above and the stickies,
Any investor who avoids a purchase based on 1 persons consistent bashing, without presenting facts, imo, will not be a investor for long. :)
But reply as you see fit.
Patiently waiting for this and 2 other plays, am not in a real hurry, businesses operate in the real world, not in the amped up instant gratification need of IHUB.
Bangkok Solar Power, at over $6 per share. BSP , I believe was to be the contractor to build the solar plants in Europe, and from what I could remember were well respected in the field.
All is quiet on this agreement, at least I haven't heard anything new.
Be careful in Switzerland while tracking down the elusive PSPW projects :)
And have a pint on me with Zoedog when you track him down!
Payable in PSPW shares :)
We start to climb......
The long European summer vacations are hopefully over,
Volume quadrupled the last couple of days,
Price has bottomed and solidified, we are ready for the climb back up,
At least I am
:)
Volume has picked up this week, and the price has held steady.
Any......day..........now........
Exactly, we will get it some time.
Unless you think the company is closing up shop......
And Friday is not a good news day by most accounts.
Man, I will take news on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday at this point!!!
:)
Just suffering from PSPW news withdrawal, and a account in the red!!
Any day now.....
:)
Volume is up,
Ok, who leaked about the PR?
Fess up!
:)
Unlike previous Rudana ventures, this is a company that will be around for a while, and appears to have major expansion plans. There are still plenty of questions regarding the European ventures and profitability, revenue streams are nice but the company must alo be profitable, Hopefully there will be no more of those finder fee % payments coming off the top of revenues.
But, at .45, this is still a undervalued stock. The quick rise to 2.48 got everyone drunk, and this has been one long hangover since then. Reminds me of why I quit drinking! :)
That bum rush to 2.48 got investors a little crazy, and induced impossible expectations. I probably still expect too much too fast and have to reman patient enough to reap the rewards here.
Company wise, this appears to be head and shoulders above "penny stocks", and hopefully will rightfully take its place on NASDAQ.
Imminently!
:)
Released after the market closes today,
1 day for an immediate effect, and then all weekend to percolate
Would be my choice for best timing of a PR,
But hell, after July, anytime soon would be appreciated
:)
No cheerleading needed. Let the market drive it. And I do hope that a IR firm will be announced imminently to disperse this info and I hope our European projects also.
Let the games begin!
So you are telling me that someone is trying to scare people away from buying PSPW by displaying 240K for sale in the .40's.
Just so they can sell their shares later this week after this skyrockets from the upcoming PR? Oh, that is just so foul!!!
Snakes in the grass, skullduggery, the OTC is everything they say about it!!
:)
I can envision additional possibilities for the quiet period, but I will remember these wise words,
If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything!
:)
There are just soooo many things that may be going on,
The best thing would probably be just turn off the PC until Friday.
And hope for the best
We both know how to pick them
:)
In the same boat.
Had to settle for .105
:)
Welcome back, you still long and strong?
They should still fill it, correct?
12,900 shares were sold at .355.
I had a buy order in at .36, flew right by me, and back up to .40.
I put that order in yesterday just so if anyone wanted to give shares away I would get them. What the hell happened?
Because the price is right!!
And will shortly be much higher.
Buy low...Sell high...
Thats why we buy!!!
How many startups show green. Most companies don't expect to turn a profit coming out of the gate.
Its potential that has sold this so far, and all that is needed is addtional confirmation that everything is falling into place to fuel that potential, green numbers are not required, at least in my uninformed opinion
:)
I got a couple at .40,
still have a open order
