OT: JP, was that "2" for Tuesday counting up or down to "5"!? LOL!!! Just a retorical question. It's been beat to a pulp already but just had to add one that because it still didn't make any sense. Please don't try to explain.
I know I know...tomorrow or Friday.
I can see the attacks now if no big news or price movement takes place. It's gonna be ugly. lol!
Get ready to have the virtual free beer poured for you or the empty bottles thrown at you. lol!
Oi Vey.

vines3: Yes indeed, NeoMedia has a licensing agreement w/ Symbol and it's more than just them paying for license fee use of NeoMedia's patents, when they get around to using them.
IMO, the agreement that they forged w/ Symbol will enable NeoMedia to gain a significant presence in the field of RFID when it starts rolling out. NeoMedia knows the clout that Symbol carries and with that understood the future benefits of allowing Symbol the needed leverage to "carry the torch" so to speak when dealing w/ clients future needs to connect their customers to the internet through the use of their RFID chips and devices. That's why they gave Symbol the right to sell the necessary licenses to themselves (I read, subsidiaries) and customers that they deal with when the needs arise. NeoMedia doesn't give that right to anybody, only those that are trusted, experienced and have the industry respect required to "lead the charge".
Yet another (in this case, early) example of just what type of individuals are stearing this ship called NEOM. We are in good hands, and as JP (and RetiredandPlaying?) descibe it..."We stand on the shoulders of giants."
You know what I really love about being invested here...the more I read about about and learn about this company, their technology, and it's management, the more confident I become in being here. Normally, I've found, it's the opposite case...the more one finds out about a company, the more there is to worry about. Not these guys.
I like it. I like it a lot. ;)

Thanx for your professional, legal opinion, lupetto3. lns
woogerbear: Love the legal discussion here and, yeah, "mute" was the incorrect word. It should've been, "moot", instead. The last 'adjective' definition of the word is what you were referring to.
moot
n.
1. Law. A hypothetical case argued by law students as an exercise.
2. An ancient English meeting, especially a representative meeting of the freemen of a shire.
tr.v. moot·ed, moot·ing, moots
1.
a. To bring up as a subject for discussion or debate.
b. To discuss or debate. See Synonyms at broach1.
2. Law. To plead or argue (a case) in a moot court.
adj.
1. Subject to debate; arguable: a moot question.
2.
a. Law. Without legal significance, through having been previously decided or settled.
b. Of no practical importance; irrelevant.
Personalizit: It seems to me that the management at NeoMedia sees the benefits of playing "nice", vs. trying to strong arm and jepoardize possibly very lucrative business relationships when looking at the long haul and future opportunities.
Being in good relations w/ arguably one of, if not thee most forward looking and successful entrenpenaurs in business today (Branson), IMO, may lead to much greater fortunes in the years to come...for management AND shareholders.
Personally, I like that way of thinking. Very open minded and to me it shows no fear. It also demonstrates, IMO, an ability for NeoMedia's management to look past the here/now and see the future for what it CAN be through the forging of positive and mutually benenficial business collaborations.
"Both NeoMedia and Virgin wanted to get about the business of doing our own business," he said. "Today’s agreement makes that happen, as well as lays the groundwork for NeoMedia and Virgin to work together in the future under the PaperClick umbrella."

Thanx, success. Mind if I or you post that over at the playground? I was just about to but thought I'd ask first.

OT: Congrats, bigs! Be safe. EOM
martyMAC: Sounds like their patent application may go to the internet, but they don't clearly specify that as such. What's your take?
martyMAC: Wouldn't that be a month after next week? ;) EOM
bigs: How can you tell it's from Amazon? Just curious...do the inventors work for them? I don't see Amazon on the application. Also, I see that it was filed for on 12/31/03.
Funny, that's 3 months after NeoMedia and Amazon "joined forces", as noted in their NR of 9/30/03.
"FT. MYERS, FL, Sep. 30, 2003 -- NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: NEOM), announced today that it has become a member of the amazon.com Web Services and Associates Programs, and concurrently introduced an application of its patented PaperClick™ technology which links book shoppers to price and availability information at amazon.com through wireless phones or personal computers."
Obviously, I haven't had time to examine the details of this patent application, but I wonder if they were/are trying to get around paying a licence fee. On the surface, it appears to not connect to the internet, but rather their own internal servers, limiting the scope of it's application, IMO.
Like I said, haven't detailed everything about it yet.
Any other opinions?

OT: Talk about clutter. Good golly. EOM
Zacked: Uh, maybe just once or twice. lol! EOM
XTRALONGTEES: Good to hear! :) EOM
OT: Zacked, has is shown? lol! EOM
Zacked: I'll never tell. ;) EOM
XTRALONGTEES: IMO, it doesn't look like that would infringe on anything that NEOM has because it's a 3D code and NeoMedia's patents don't cover those. It does seem pretty neat, but, IMO, essentially doesn't offer that much more than broadening the differentiating combinations of "patterns" to infinity (and beyond, I imagine :).
I think I still like being a small miniscule fraction of an owner in a company that has the patents to all 1D and 2D barcodes, voice, RF/ID, GPS, etc...
"Developed by researchers at Korea's Yonsei University in February of 2000, ColorCodeTM is the world's first three-dimensional code system that integrates both online and offline, analog and digital components"
"ColorCodeTM is the only patented technology in the world that allows mobile phones and PDAs to read color coded images and instantly download music, images and data from a server."
http://www.colorzip.co.jp/en/technology.html
freephotoads: You know something? Just because we don't hear of "positive advances" does NOT mean that behind the scenes NeoMedia and their management aren't cementing many "positive advances" in their overall business plan.
What would make you think otherwise? They've come out on top w/ 3/4 infringement cases so far, appears to have the launch of the WR in sights, appears to have the BSDS aquisition (Triton) nearing the final stages, appears to be on the fast track to wrap-up their aquisition of Mobot - in what has been described a the "mobile marketing marriage of the year", the new Virgin Megastore opening is in a few weeks w/ the highly anticipated first major "uveiling" of Virgin's direct use of the PC technology that they've licensed for 11 years AND the highly anticipated CTIA is right around the corner where last time in February they certainly appeared to be the "buzz" of the show and would expect that EVEN MORE this time? (I probably missed a couple of other things in there too)...(oh, and the TA as described by our local "gurus" as seem from two clearly different angles BOTH are indicating good signs for the near future)
So, why all the concern again?
OT: At the end of the day, going forward, when it comes to the bottom line, it's a no-brainer that when issues like this come up (badger dropping duty) we gotta hit the ground running using all of our collective core competencies in this mission-critical task. It's only when we keep them on our radar screens, make sure we touch base, circle back and ping each other one off by shooting emails back and forth keeping us all on the same page, that we can truly make this a win-win situation for all investors. We have a lot of bandwidth here in terms of visions being expressed by the thought leaders on this board. Just reference their many posts.
We don't need cheerleaders, we need players! Remember, there's no "I" in team, but there is an "M", so let's all do the Most we can to help keep this bleeding edge technology stock on track.
Isn't this cool?

OT: beacon: Yeah, it's called welfare. :/ EOM
mudrez: Amen, brother. 100% agree. EOM
pennyheaven: Not necessarily. Someone I know (fellow online investor bud) read his "tea leaves" and they told him it would possibly retest the lows before shooting higher. Looks like his charts told him right.
Just start learning them if you want to understand them. That's my plan. I'm not there yet and got a long way to go.

OT: Picksit...will do. God's speed. EOM
Zacked: Possibly try this out...download Leapscan to your phone and see if it has the ability to have characters typed into a "window" of some sort (can't check the site out here at work...you know, 'prohibited'). If it does then type in the ISBN code of the "Jungle Book" example. See what you get.
IF you can type characters into a "window" of some sort w/ Leapscan AND it goes to the same place, well then, viola - more proof of the direction that the ScanBuy suit is going...or went.
Just a thought and suggestion, that's all. I'd try it if I had a modern cell phone.
lns
martyMAC: Thinking of your DD article there on Nokia's easy, direct mobile search connectivity, wonder if we'll ever see them put a one click (push button, whatever) direct access to the 'GoWindow'?
That would be nice to see.
:)
OT: pennyheaven, I know that, hence the quotation marks. Charts mean nothing? Tell that to the folks that make a living by them.
Like pvc and cloud8 conversed last night (just catching up on posts here)...geesh.
Done w/ this one.
But, by all means, feel free to have the last word.
lns
OT: pennyheaven: Isn't that always the case w/ every stock on the boards?
"Its very obvious the street wants a well defined plan to chart out on its own."
success: Didn't know. No problemo. lns EOM
OT: beacon: Can you possibly reword what you replied? I see that whatever it was it was deleted.
Did I make you mad w/ something I posted?
lns
yellowjacket: I'm w/ you on that one. I think there may be something to be said about an obvious company that could benefit from an equity partnership in the technology that NeoMedia has to offer - NOT being mentioned at all by TS.
TS is pretty slick, we all know that.
;)
OT: LeBonTon update...If you ever see this know that my prayers are w/ you, your family and others in your situation.
As far as the news pulling punches, I think that may be starting to change. Two nights ago I happened to catch the reports by CBN...no sugar coating there, real sobbering reports. Last night I watched FOX and O'reilly had a full hour on it...again, very sobering. Shepard Smith told it like it is...it's hell on earth, worse than Baghdad, worse than anything he could conjure up in his mind. Now, some of the "looters" (gang members, scum of the earth, POS, whatever you want to call them) have "escaped" (this kinda reminds me of the movie "Escape from New York") NO and are now moving into the suburbs and having a field day...no lights, no security, no body, nothing in their way. Unreal.
Probably nothing new here in this post, just another 2c from me...feel free to delete if considered clutter.
May God protect those that seek him.
