Weekly Ethanol Update
August 21st, 2013
The old crop marketing year is coming to a close. It runs from Sep 1 of 2012 to August 31 of 2013.
http://www.allendale-inc.com/weekly-ethanol-update-4/
Today’s ethanol production report gives us data through the 16th. There are only two weeks left to meet USDA’s goal of a 7.2% smaller corn for ethanol estimate. Year to date we are 7.3% smaller. We will meet USDA’s goal if the next two weeks run only 2% higher than last year. That seems right on target. The last four weeks have seen production from 3% to 5% higher than last year.
We will meet USDA’s old crop corn for ethanol estimate.

U.S. ethanol inventories remain relatively tight
U.S. ethanol inventories in the week ended Aug 9 fell by -1.7% to 16.425 million barrels, which was only +6.3% above the 4-year low of 15.445 million barrels posted in the last week of June. The generally tight level of inventories indicates relatively strong demand for ethanol. Meanwhile, U.S. ethanol production over the past two reporting weeks rose by +3.0% to 857,000 barrels per day, which is down by only -3.2% from the 1-year high posted in late May
Ethanol Market Action -- Sep ethanol futures prices last week rallied to a 1-month high and closed the week +8.4 cents (+3.9%) at $2.229 per gallon. Bullish factors included the +2.0% rally in Sep gasoline prices and the rally in corn prices late in the week that left Sep corn up +1.7% on the week. Ethanol prices also continue to see support from generally tight U.S. ethanol inventories.
Ethanol/Gasoline -- Sep gasoline futures prices rallied sharply in the past 1-1/2 weeks to recover from a 1-
3/4 month low and close the week +5.93 cents (+2.0%) at $2.9675 per gallon. Gasoline prices rallied on the
turmoil in Egypt and fears about a possible disruption of oil flows through the Suez canal. Sep ethanol prices last Friday closed at a steep -73.9 cent discount to Sep gasoline prices.
Ethanol/Corn -- Sep corn futures prices extended the sharp 2-month sell-off to post a 2-3/4 year low on the nearest-futures chart, but then rebounded later in the week to close up +8.00 cents (+1.7%) at $4.7375 per bu. The Aug 12 WASDE report was supportive with the USDA cutting U.S. 2013/14 corn production to 13.763 from 13.950 billion bushels and ending stocks to 1.837 from 1.959 billion bushels. The corn crop remains in very good shape with last Monday’s USDA Crop Progress report showing the good-to-excellent condition of the U.S. corn crop at 64%, unchanged w/w and far better than last year’s drought-induced 23%. The Sep ethanol-corn crush margin last week rose by +5.5 cents to 53.7 cents/gallon. Including DDGS, the Sep corn for ethanol crush margin rose by +4.2 cents to 123.4 cents/gallon.

Corn Crush Margin
The corn crush spread, or the difference between a gallon of ethanol and the corn needed to make it, was 51 cents, versus 49 cents yesterday/West Coast Ethanol $2.47 a gallon,Chicago $2.345 a gallon
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-08-16/ethanol-gasoline-spread-swells-as-corn-falls-on-crop-concerns.html
Simple Math ~
Sept ethanol $2.229 a gallon x 2.8 gallons per bushel = $6.2412 per bushel
Sept Corn $4.73
Ethanol $6.2412 - $4.73 Corn = $1.5112
$1.5112/ 2.8 Gal per bushel = $0.539
(Now Lets Do It With West Coast Ethanol)
Ethanol $2.47 x 2.8 Gal per bushel = $6.916
WC Ethanol $6.916 - $4.73 Sept Corn = $2.16
$2.16 per bushel/ 2.8
= $0.78 per gallon Corn Crush Spread
Now Do Your Own Math, and Add In
1.) WDGS earnings per gallon
2.) Corn Oil Corn Oil Earnings per gallon
3.) Sorghum Increased Earnings per gallon
(Keep In Mind ALL Debt Is Paid for 2013,next Debt is Do in 2014)

Happy Easter all. There definately is something going on at Madera. They are working at getting the plant ready. I even saw one semi truck almost like a feed truck enter the gate. The truck waited at the gate until a worker came out in a gator and let the driver in the tractor trailer. The tractor trailer then went in to a concert building on the east side of the site. There was also a white pickup hidden in the back and another pickup in the center of the plant. I will send the pictures Sunday.
http://gratisupload.dk/vis_billede/694486/
In the shed is some kind of boat. That is an old train of some sort, not sure about he plane or UFO. But what I like most is that the whit truck is parked in the BACK of the plant concealed from the road. There was another truck in the center of the plant that day too concealed from the road.
