Copper prices climb on global demand expectations
Copper prices rose Wednesday on expectations that global demand will remain brisk and supplies will tighten.
Copper prices settled up 2.5 percent, leading most metals higher. Oil rose slightly while other energy and agricultural products were mixed.
The improving global economy is expected to drive more demand this year for copper, which is used in manufacturing an array of products from electronics to construction materials.
While global copper inventories have risen, overall supplies are expected to remain tight, BNP Paribas analyst Stephen Briggs said.
Analyst Nikos Kavalis with GFMS Ltd., a London metals research firm, said investor interest in copper has picked up because of supply-demand expectations.

Financing news is exactly what we need to see now. Get us back on track...
The seller has exited the building...
Vulcan salute to him - May he live long and prosper somewhere else. Of course he would of been smarter to do it here...
Or then again, maybe someone died and their spouse or family had to sell the shares...
Everyone should be excited of what's taking place here. Yes this seller has been an annoying $hit the last 2 days. Most of us are just wishing we had a little more ammo to pick up some of these cheaper shares cause we know where the PPS is heading.
Wait until you see the buying pressure that will take place once we're on the TSX.
This puppy is GUARANTEED to kick A$$!
I believe you are right Rig. Could see a PR tomorrow stating the non brokered financing is completed..
BM's continue to rise. 80 now.
I agree 100%... Telling another buddy of mine the same thing today. Once this parade gets going I don't want anyone pissing on it...
Nice job. That damn MM still being stingy. He'll be a distant memory soon enough..
Another 20,000 just went thru. Well it isn't from lack of effort to get UBSS out of the way.. lol
Well we're chewing away at the seller's shares... 25,000 just went thru...
It appears that one large share holder is on his way out. Yes this is annoying, but we'll be moving up BIG shortly without him...
Like I said before, Selling under $1 is for Clowns & Trolls...
lol
JMHO
You and Charlie are the only guys I know that have tiger blood running through your veins...
lol
Nice article... Copper will continue to be in demand...
I don't know what the deal is with UBSS, but the seller is creating a great buying opportunity for the rest of us... IMHO

Copper Gains for First Time in Three Sessions as Rains Hamper Chile Output
Copper rose for the first time in three sessions after reports that heavy rains hampered production in Peru and Chile, the world’s largest supplier.
Anglo American Plc said yesterday it will struggle to meet its 2011 production target at its Collahuasi copper mine in Chile after floods reduced output. Xstrata Plc said production was disrupted at its Tintaya mine in Peru. Teck Resources Ltd.’s Quebrada Blanca mine was also affected. Copper reached a record $4.6575 a pound on Feb. 15.
“Supplies continue to tighten,” Rob Kurzatkowski, a senior commodities analyst at OptionsXpress Holdings Inc., said today in an e-mail. “Copper miners have had their hands full keeping pace with demand.”
Copper futures for May delivery rose 1.55 cent, or 0.4 percent, to $4.2705 at 12:22 p.m. on the Comex in New York. Earlier, the price lost as much as 1 percent on concern that demand will slow in China, the largest metals user.

Minmetals Plans $6.5 Billion Offer for Copper Miner
China's Minmetals Resources Ltd. said Monday it intends to make a $6.3 billion Canadian (US$6.5 billion) offer for miner Equinox Minerals Ltd., whose assets are mainly in Zambia, in the most recent move by China to secure critical raw materials to feed its rapidly growing economy and cut its dependence on foreign miners.
------------------------------------
The International Copper Study Group, which tracks copper use and production world-wide, says that the utilization rate of copper mines has fallen every year since 2004, when it was running at 90.5%. In 2010, the rate was 80.8%.
That drop helps to account for the expected gap between copper output and copper demand. Analysts predict there will be a deficit of about 500,000 metric tons in 2011.

Volume looking good. UBSS needs to move on up :)
Sweeeet! Let's see them all run for the hills...
More volume at the Ask. UBSS being stingy. Looking for it to move up...
It's huge... IMHO

Copper Mining Companies Listed in Canada
http://www.miningnerds.com/copper-mining-report-canada
There are 27 TSX trading companies on the list provided in the link above. The highest priced PPS is $111.95 and the lowest is $1.10. Average PPS of the 27 stocks is $13.38 per share.
I've been told WRN is a company that compares well with CNYC and it currently trades at $3.06 per share.
Maybe comparing apples to oranges with a few of them, but what the hell. CNYC will be trading over $1 per share shortly after it gets listed on the TSX.
Glad to have you aboard. I've been patient with this one. Yesterday's news makes me more relaxed and willing see this one out. We haven't even started yet.. It's more of a preparty gathering here
With Harvey's past experiences and age, how soon do you think it'll be before we hear about a buyout?
I heard the same... Pretty sweet huh?

lol - Glad I could help... Seriously, With what is to come in the following months I think we'll see multiple dollars by years end. But I don't want to get a head of myself. JMHO
Won't be a better price than what it is now. And won't take much to clear out UBSS. IMO
Does a bear $hit in the woods?
If the answer is yes, then so is my answer to your question...
