I sold at $67 this time around
And I'd like to own me some of them there AAPLs again,
I reckon. But not quite yet.

It is never polite to ask a thief if they are stealing, however we should not care much about the feelings of thiefs.
Does getting them from the torrent include payment to the intellectual or artistic property owners?
Bootz, picky, picky, picky -clouds can be good. This sunrise was taken on the other side of the island from the sunset - about a 4 block stroll.
I have a core that I am holding. GG, GLE, AUY, SLW, AZK, FRG - about 15% of trading portfolio. All positions but GLE are green by a pretty good amount. Will buy on significant dips later in August, I suspect.
Doesn't much matter what AAPL does
We're going back to where this photo was taken, and nearby places for the last half of December
Three days in Merida, 4 days on Isla de Mujeres, followed by a week in and around Playa del Carmen.
By the time you know for sure and aren't speculating, it's too late to hit the exit if that's necessary.
Exit early.
Enter whenever you wish, but exit early. Try to avoid putting yourselves into the "too late to sell, too early to buy" position. I have been there before. I am better at avoiding it than I used to be.
Speed bumps
were more exciting in the G4 / G5 days, doncha think?
Kinda of nice that we're talking about Pro machines again. Do you think they will crank out 200k in the next 7 weeks or so?
Ron
Lango, can't crib off me, cause I have not done the DD. I had a small speculative position in a company (bought last march) that was working on a deposit. It grew and I sold enough to cover the initial cost and take some profit. DD??? I got a day job and a wife *grin* It was my spec for the year, and worked out....but could have gone to zero, I guess.
Prudhoe Bay Pipelines
sounds like they are going to be doing some building up there. FYI, molybdenum is used in pipe alloys designed for pressure/temperature extremes. Not sure what impact it could have on moly demand or price, but you could do the DD iffen you were of a mind to.
bootz, been working for a living :)
Some of the changes in Leopard sound.....interesting. Not sure I fully understood what I read about Mail - could be good....we'll see :).

Would ya'll please stop configuring the new Mac Pros, so that the response time speeds up and I can check on the education price of one of these puppies. Thanks
Here is what it boils down to, in part:
If you are comfortable with the new readings on the Risk-o-Meter, then by all means hold.
Big Bummer or slight speed bump
I dunno. I do know that I was delighted with Apple in the early pre-market session, selling 60% of our stake at 66.20, 20% at 66.71 and the remaining 20% at 66.76. Average cost was 59.99.
Not bad for a short-term trade :) - which of course was not the intent when purchased.
Thanks
It will be time to make a call and
damn the torpedos :)
I'd feel worse if I wasn't up so much over the past year
Well, I had close to a $10 a share gain at close.
Reckon if I can get out of most of it with a $5 a share gain I may dump most of it and wait. Will be an interesting morning.
If it hits 80 soon,
I'd sell 1/2 in a nanosecond, absent news.
In fact, 70 could be a reasonable target for doing that.
"I say if AAPL breaks through $72 it goes back to $80."
Question of when, not if, I suspect.
It is conceivable that Apple could sell more 10 million Macs in Calendar 2007. In fact, I'll predict it right here and now :).
Bought another lot of AAPL yesterday at 67.94, bringing cost basis to 59.99. Done now, for now.
Anyone selling CC's here?
If so, what strike prices, month etc...?
OT seasonal gold chart
Yep, I look at it regularly :) - have core holdings now - bout 15% of stock portfolios - may double that by the end of August / early September
Between AAPL
ADBE (thanks JisJ) and me miners, looks like today might could be pretty fair.
Ron
Dilleet,
Some of the scenes were filmed on the Rogue. Our guide, who is a high school teacher and grew up there there, helped transport some of the stuff down river.
WickedPedia notwithstanding.
Just got back from a long weekend on the Rogue River in southern Oregon.
Floated the stretch of river where A River Runs Through It was filmed. Incredibly lovely country.
Had not looked at the markets since Thursday afternoon. What a nice confluence of events *smile*
Looking like AAPL
Wants more! Quack Quack.
With a nod to WmZ down in Fla.
Bootz,
It is an insignificant amount of money. Really.
I'm pretty pleased
Overweight AAPL now with a cost basis of $58.0025. While I perceive some risks, I obviously think the potential for reward outweighs them.

nickel,
you're missing the boat and the points here.
But I'm sure you may be making points elsewhere.
The future will tell all, but to ignore it would be silly.
Apple WILL suffer an impact. The question is how big the impact will be in the first generation as Microsoft stumbles around, finds its footing and balance and learns by trial and error. And then how much larger the impact will grow and at what rate it will be expanding.
Well, Apple will not stand still in that space, and I think those who project accelerating Mac sales could be on the correct side of things, so it is not a simple "just the music business" calculus when considering investing, trading, holding or selling AAPL. Not simple at all.
Nickel, I didn't say anything about MSFT dethroning Apple in the music business. I wrote that the intitiative should be taken seriously (for example, not dismissed) by Apple investors. They do not have to dethrone Apple for their intitiative to have a impact.
It is part of the competitive environment.
As investors I think we should take the MSFT music initiative seriously. I think it and larger economic issues (consumer debt, slowing economy, gazillions in adjustable rate mortgages that are going to go up, etc...) have to be considered and should temper the enthusiasm of those of us who have made a bunch of bucks in AAPL and hope to make a bunch more in the next period of time.
I think it looks good for that, but it's not a lay-up or a slam dunk, in my opinion - OTOH, I do not consider it a Hail Mary pass either.
That would be ebbulient, which is an oxymoron in your case as you are anything but, especially as it pertains to your Mac(s.)
You don't have to keep answering my question. Three or four times was enough *laugh*
Been posting mine also. eom
One way I see it is that AAPL could be settin up for
a good second half followed by another January flop :).
<roni, and just a day or two ago you were so...welcoming.>
Still am. I love the new people, mostly. They are wonderful additions to the board. Most are reasonable, good thinkers and writers. I like having them here.
You're on ignore now. Don't see much to respect, or much worth reading.
I translated your answer to "usually" See ya.

That is easy, you could review the past year or two of my posts, or sinclaps or altaire's
There is a bunch of it :).
Mayhaps you take life too seriously. Anyone who asks someone on an internet board to allow them to treat one as intelligent (or not) - that is just bizarre. Treat me as you like, no permission needed.
