success: I like the dots. Maybe they could talk w/ 8x8 in the future afte this BSDS deal is done (I'd be surprised if after this long it doesn't get done). I have them (Packet8) at home and they're great. They are also, IMO, leading the curve w/ VOIP and just recently broke into a European venture.
Drmyke: "so far there are really no new developements" needs a clarification. That should better be put, for us that "already" know.
They're setting the stage for a national/world unveiling...and doing it quite expertly, I might add.
Look, I would be willing to bet that you're friends are still saying to you what my friends still are, which is basically, "they ain't got sh*t!". They don't see it yet because it's not right in front of their noses, so goes for most everyone else.
It will be soon though, IMO. It will be soon.
sniff sniff....ooooooo, that smell. ;)
Very good post, yellowjacket. I haven't had a lot of time lately to put together a well thought out post here and my exhuberance has been eating into my allotted 15 posts/day. lol!
Thanx for putting that together.
The feeling of confidence I have in NeoMedia's management is just overflowing. Never felt this strong about a company and their leaders. I know they are NOT infallable, but on the other hand they've given us no reason to doubt their intentions to their shareholders, their vision, and execution of their business plan.
We are in good hands here are indeed "standing on the shoulders of giants", IMO.
With that, I gotta refrain for a while so I have something to give later on tonight. I was out of "ammo" by lunchtime yesterday! lol!
LET'S GO NEOM!
lns
SOG: If I haven't said it before, you ARE the Marketing MACHINE (not to mention THE DD MONSTER!!!)
Many Thanx for your heart-felt efforts here! lns
"LET'S ROCK" and "KEEP THE GOOD TIMES ROLLIN'!" ;)
Zacked: To each his own. EOM
OT: ahhh, much better, Private! lol! EOM
clawmann: Another postive aspect to the "neomedia" Google search and it showing ScanBuy and OP3 as the "Sponsored Links" is this...What does that tell you about their security and confidence in what they have as compared to NeoMedia and their IP portfolio!?
Like the saying goes, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
YEAH!!!
Man this is a great feeling!
I still can't believe we're here.
lns
OT: freephotoads, you're breakin' rank here. You're only supposed to inform us when the price goes down, remember. lol!! Still though, provide some substance, please. TIA, lns
OT: SOG, I'm w/ ya! Funny though, I've been sleepin' like a baby the past couple nights. But, that's me...maybe I'm just a little bit different. :)
Holdin' Long. Livin' Strong. Lovin' the Ride.
lns
clawmann: Here's a different perspective...What IF Google IS the 20% equity partner. And what IF ScanBuy is in the bag. And what IF this shotcode thingy is just a cheap imitation or a paid licensee. And what IF OP3 is on good terms w/ NeoMedia?
If these were to be the case and as I speculated IF Google were the 20% equity partner, they would have a direct link to download PaperClick (or equivalent Google branded PC software) right there on the Google HomePage.
Then, if this all were to be the case, NeoMedia wouldn't mind at all if ScanBuy and OP3 were "sponsored links". That would actually be part of their business plan!
They would WANT their license users to have a very good precense, because it just means more business for NeoMedia in the end...W/O THE LEGWORK.
Gotta look at the positives in times like these. Oh, what the heck am I talking about...at ALL times! :)
clawmann and others...this thing appears to be a wrap. NeoMedia has almost 2 YEARS of synergy built up like a "tight spring" in all facets of businsess, from the tech side (INTL, SAIC (I know, they're out now, but it shows the industry interest in NEOM's IP, NOT OP3 or ScanBuy)) to the business side (P&G, Virgin (well, they fall into both catagories, IMO), FCB).
This is it, the "KILLER AP" is about to be UNLEASHED!
Question: If ScanBuy and OP3 were such a threat, why didn't they bring their BARK to the CTIA this week???
THAT speaks VOLUMES!!!!
Sorry for the exuberanace, but MAN do I hate seeing signs of the "heeby jeebies" this early in the morning (wasn't on at all since late afternoon yesterday).
It's the first inning and NEOM's up to bat w/ three men on base and NO OUTS! :)
OT: LOL!! RonMexico, I bet you're glad you made that mistake! LOL!! I looked them up back accident yesterday. Them low trading volume stocks are scary sometimes. Can you ever get in/out in time!?
As mentioned before, I think in time we'll really appreciate the "liquidity" here...and so will fund managers, IMO. ;)
OT: BTW, Glad to hear your OK, Zacked. Now you can see why many folks say, "Leave!? And deal w/ that traffic!? Nah, we'll just "ride it out"." I appreciate your first hand account.
Now, let's start havin' some fun around here!!!!
LET'S GO N E O M ! ! !
OT: Iwill: Chiefs got clobbered. lol! I'm originally from MD so...GO RAVENS!!! :)
BTW, you found a good resting spot here. Many "good brains" (to take a line from JP) reside here and contribute. Looking forward reading your thoughts as time rolls on here.
GLTY!
OT: clawmann: Yes they do trade, on the AMEX after a 15/1 (or something like that R/S recently). They've been getting hammered ever since. Nothing changed w/ the company, just same old MM games it appears. So much so that they had a NR about it today.
I know, I was blown away by this concept when it was first introduced to me here. I apologize, but I can't remember who that was that first posted something about them a good number of months ago.
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=GTE
OT: clawmann: "Proprietary" gas exchange technology coupled w/ solar panel electricity powering the "engines". Big secret it seems, really. They're working w/ the USAF at Edwards AFB. It's gonna be huge. Say "ByeBye" to cellphone towers!
joeD: Millions of people Google! (ok, I'll stop now ;) EOM
koko: Ditto (TS) and mucho DD. lns eom
JP: And to add, IMO, he'll want to give his customer base the ability to use those keywords ASAP! :)
success/lawsson: And just wait till the Stratellites hit! :)

OT: Iwill: I have another sort of bday here in my family today as well. One year ago to the day my family and I "officially" started our new life here in the wide-open MidWest - smack dab in the heart of this great land of ours - and in doing so gave us the opportunity to, for the first time in 5 years, invest big-time (for us anyway) in the market. Not knowing which way to turn to plop our dough and in/out here/there, one day, along came NEOM.
What an anniversary. I knew it would be possible to be in a situation like this because we had/have Faith in us being led out here. But, to be sitting here now..is an amazing feeling. We're on the verge of something HUGE here, IMO.
You don't know how many times we (wife&I) heard, "Kansas?! Are you crazy!?"
Guess we were. ;)
alynnb: HEY! We're here right? It's always been the smart money! loL!! (just kidding)
lawsson: Welcome! And, three words...It will improve. EOM
beacon: Making up for lost time? :) EOM
OT: I agree, clawmann, but it's a fun way to pass the time, don't ya think? Beats the heck out of whining and complaining and feeling the end it near.
SOG: Size would matter less when you're the first one on the block w/ direct "navigational abilities".
GoogleMobile on Steroids - forget typing in a zipcode when you got GPS
Google on Steroids - forget even a two step jump to get to a site when one is all that's needed
Google w/ AOL keywords "Powered by Paperclick"?
Now "Thatsa Lotsa Keywords!"
How could a ton of end users get PaperClick (or GC? ;) on their phone and computers instantly? If it were made available directly from the Google Home Page and Google Mobile Home Page the could...all wrapped in the Google logo and graphics. And, there would still be plenty of room on the dance floor for SP's to "brand" their own and "push" it to their customers. hmmmmmm..........
IMWAS (WAS=WildA**edScenario), this MSFT/AOL "deal" could actually be a last ditch effort for Bill to try and "steal" another showstopper...especially if he caught wind of a "natural" fit such as already exists between GOOG/AOL becoming fully "mobilized". Google sees it coming a mile away and slams an extra 4B in the bank as ammo w/ a major stock offering w/ the ability as a 20% equity partner to quickly raise their stake in NeoMedia if old Bill the Gorilla decides to try and crash the party - puttin' the cabosh on any takeover attempt all w/ out the "poison pill".
Could we witness the biggest search/advertising battle to come from the best seats in the house?...All w/ NeoMedia smack dab in the middle of it?
Wake me up! I gotta get to work!
Man, that was some name droppin' yesterday. Whew!
"THE GOOGLE HAS LANDED"...???
do do do do do do do do ......:)
Iwill: Welcome, and you yourself hit the mark there. That's why we're all here. Glad you came to join the fun! lns
success: To add, it will be PC's effectiveness that will garner the larger dollars come year two.
Tonguehair: Don't forget also, FCB is pushing this as well, not just NeoMedia. It's nice having friends in high places, isn't it? ;)
moxa: Indeed. That's the way it appears to me.
ss9173: I think it's a give-in that they'll announce something major that will "push" or make it easily and widely available for current cell phone owners. Otherwise, I don't think they would've announced what they did this morning.
That just wouldn't make sense, IMO, given the fact that they've maintained now since there "business plan" PR that they do not intend to make it available directly to cellphone users through a download from their site, like ScanBuy or Xobile currently has.
What NeoMedia is doing here is MUCH bigger than those company's business plan, hands down. This is it, it gametime!

clawmann: I understand it as being they cannot be resold while owned, BUT, since the period for "ownership" is only one year, theoretically, they can be resold to different entities yearly. But, I would imagine through NeoMedia and not the previous owner. Also, I would imagine that during the year of ownership of a keyword, NeoMedia would keep track of how many other entities inquired about that keyword, hence, making a "market" for it. The year comes up, then the fun begins because NeoMedia will know beforehand what words are "hot" and what words aren't. The point's mute for TradeMarked words/phrases, and that's a HUGE plus for those owners.
Use it or lose it type thing.
That makes sense to me. It's up to the individual owner to re-register their word/phrase, just as a website domain needs to be re-registered every year or two.
It appears to me that NeoMedia is being very careful NOT to have any "secondary market" screw things up.
This all has been well though out in advance. IMO, we should all just sit back and patiently watch things unfold. Like Allstate, "We're in good hands". I'm sure they had plenty of "best practices" brain-storming sessions w/ SAIC, who's been down this similar type of road before.
ss9173: Just dreaming here, but, wouldn't it be something that, say news does were to come out that they announce a (or more) major SP is "on board" DURING THE CTIA, where suddenly, everyone in the place who has a cellphone/PDA w/ that SP will instantly have it downloaded to their phones or get a message stating how to download it for free. Just imagine the buzz then.
bbbzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Vox: Went for the gusto w/ that one! LOL! Thanx for the dig and info. lns
Norske_Badger: It's lunchtime. EOM
beacon: Everything I'm looking at shows the .56 trade. Maybe a point to reach before the end of the day? Optimistic thinking, but then again, you know me. ;)
OT: SOG: LOL! Glad I didn't read it until this morning! lol! I was beat last night (last fun/sun day on lake w/ kids before the cold north winds start blowin...not a lick of wind yesterday (odd for KS) nor cloud in the sky.)
BOARD: In the news this morning, might this be a MAJOR hint as to who the 20% equity partner may be (if the rumor is true ;):
Mobile Keywords, such as brand names and slogans, can be registered and licensed via the PaperClick Keyword Registry(TM) for entry in a PaperClick Mobile Go-Window, a Google®-like text window on cell phones or PDA's, to create a one-click connection to a Web page (URL). Words, phrases and brand names already trademarked can be registered only by their owners, with other words and phrases available from NeoMedia.
...(smackin' lips)
Banks, what's ScanBuy's absence from this CTIA tell me? It tell me clearly...they're "second fiddle". ;)
SOG: YEAH! I can feel your goosebumps! EOM
SOG, bet that was a fun trip! :) eom
