i never thought i'd be excited to see .0022!
i'm sure frank was pretty certain about the 123 coverage and the RCN city expansion that still hasn't happened yet... not bashing, just being cautious. You never know until its signed and delivered.

i agree florist, this deal has the potential to be HUGE but if it falls through it could be total devastation (especially on the investor psyche). we better not lose this deal.
q_me_up
another forward looking statement but if Q is serious and this happens, i think this could potentially be the biggest news yet.
crying to keep myself from shitting in my pants.
diplomatic, are you a southern... the "might could" gave you away ;>)
q_me_up
exactly and good point!
q_me_up
you must be an extrememly fast typist... you can crank out paragraphs in the time it takes me to type a couple of words. btw, i wasn't trying to give you sh*t here regarding RCN and lack of Q advertising... but i do totally appreciate your contribution to this forum.
q_me_up
ok,ok, calm down... give your fingers a rest. i was just curious and a little befuddled that you never saw any advertising and promotion for the Q, that's all. it might very well be out there... maybe they start at 10:01pm.
q_me_up
well you did say, "I switch back and forth with other channels"
q_me_up
well, if it is happening, the 7pm to 10pm time slot that you do watch tv would be the target time to advertise. most people work during the day and are in bed by 11pm. so if you're not seeing the promotional/advertising then most others are not either.
q_me_up
well, my guess would be that if you, a RCN subscriber for the entire duration of time that Q has been televised in boston has never seen an advertisement (and might i add, would be looking for them) then nobody else has seen them either... IMO its just not happening.
q_me_up
i guess RCN never followed through on this part... "They will begin promoting Q Television on their stations."
q_me_up
unfortunately i don't have access to a scanner now... but when i get home i can do it... hopefully someone will provide that for you before then.

The Advocate is out (March 29th) and Q is in it. Advertising a full page ad on page 29. Just went out and bought it. The ad still looks amateurish but no typos that i could see and they even got their web address correct! They really need to spice up the look of their advertising, maybe even including a catch phrase header that stands out such as: "Q Television is coming out of the closet and into your living room!" But even if it lacks the splash, at least its really there and that's pretty cool!
yeah, its beginning to feel like a slow bleed. Come on Q, stop the bleeding!
i've got nothing but nubs... bit the fingers clean off.
yes, that is if they air... it would definately be in our best interest to beat them to the punch.
i do agree that we need to get national coverage before we can be considered a true competitor but i think that even 3 gay stations can coexist, especially since each one will appeal to a different market audience. of course, we'll have the best programming so we'll appeal to all groups.
q_me_up
and even if LOGO does air, i think that we're making a bigger deal out of it than it really is. i myself watch hbo... hbo is comprised of several movie channels and i watch all of them. if a gay network launches and then another one launches later i wouldn't be surprised if the LBGT community would be interested in purchasing both. You gotta have choices and if my favorite show isn't playing on one station chances are the other one will have something good to watch.
qmeup
froy, don't let him get you with the, "i got someone real important on the other line" excuse!
... but it is richards job to give accurate projections on his claims. if five days is not enough time to update us about the 123 carriage, then he needs to keep his mouth shut. he is not in the position to make assumptions about anything... only state the facts.
L2 please. TIA.
looks like a .0033 close with a buy of 9mill at 4:06:08 and then a 6mill buy at 4:06:40 NICE!
skunks, you are so quick to criticize other peoples opinions and the way they perform their DD if it doesn't compliment or match up with your own. Sure Jackie has some insider information but it needs to be taken with a grain of salt, not fact. She doesn't have that kind of credibility.
Meanwhile to go back to yesterday's discussion, you have Q Television broadcasting in your home and you don't watch but 1 or 2 shows. You claim that you make your business decisions based on research (of the gay community) and not what the network is playing. Well, that's all fine and good but if the network gets a carrier but all of the programming sucks the company is doomed to fail. I know that you said that you like the one or two shows that you watch but that doesn't emcompass the entire network. The programming is the most important part.
If you're going to buy a car, you look at whole, take it for a test drive... its not necessary to learn how a combustion engine works. The front of the car may look good but if it has no engine the car is a lemon.
All of the programming on the Q is important and should be looked at, not one or two shows.
why do you only watch those shows... as an investor, if i could get the network, i'd be watching the programming all day long. Obviously i have a job, which wouldn't allow me to but at least on the weekends, i'd take a sampling of all of the programming that the network has to offer. do you not watch other shows because they are not good or that you only have access to your tv during that small time slot and not on the weekends? thanks. q_me_up
skunks, you are one of the investors that i believe, actually does get the Q Network through RCN. Tell me honestly what you think of the Network as far as quality, watch-ability, entertainment value, information, issues etc. Not sure if you are gay/lesbian or not but are the programs something that are engaging enough that if you weren't invested in this stock that you would still consider buying the channel?
thanks. q_me_up
DaddyDog, i definately feel your pain. i've been invested for several months and since my purchase have experienced the same disappointing (and might i add frustrating) continual downward slide. i think that there is enough proof, however, that the company truely does exists and that we are currently being televised. David Letterman, for one, would not mention the Q on his show if there wasn't some sort of validity to the network. Frank missing his deadlines is probably the thing that hurts this stock the most. I do feel that he will eventually come through, even if a little late... hopefully before my first heartattack. Once this news hits the streets its a quick thrust upward.. no doubt! no sense in selling now... my return would be worthless.
good luck to you and try to look to the future.
