dlethe01: Very interesting mix of speakers. eom
Zacked: You're hoping for a buyout? eom
8eights: I really don't know, but I think they all want a piece of AOL's keywords because they know how much they'll be worth going "mobile".
--------------------------------------------------------------
I'm going home and when I wanna go home
I'm going mobile
Well, I'm gonna find a home and we'll see how it feels
Going mobile
Keep me moving
I can pull up by the curb
I can make it on the road
Going mobile
I can stop in any street
And talk with people that we meet
Going mobile
Keep me moving
Out in the woods or in the city
It's all the same to me when I'm driving free
The world's my home
When I'm mobile
Yahoo!
Beep beep
Play the tape machine make the toast and tea
When I'm mobile
Well I can lay in bed with only highway ahead
When your mobile
Keep me moving
Keep me moving
Over 50
Keep me grooving
Hippie gypsy
Keep moving
Keep moving
Every place is the same to me
Any time of the night or day
You're welcome to pass me by
Or drop in sometime
If you catch me up, I'm mobile
I'm going home and when I wanna go home
I'm going mobile
I'm gonna find a home and we'll see how it feels
Going mobile
Keep me moving
Keep moving
Keep moving
I don't care about pollution
I'm an air-conditioned gypsy
That's my solution
Watch the police and the tax man miss me
I'm mobile
I'm mobile
PETE TOWNSHEND - "Goin' Mobile" lyrics
edster1: It's pretty neat, that Yahoo! mobile search, but how often do you know exactly the zipcode your in? I never do unless I'm home or at work. That's where NeoMedia's GPS patents come into play.
CAWAMBAWAMBAWAMBA! Thanx, Gatortrapper. Oh, and I was thinking earlier this morning that it's my opinion, strong opinion, that we could very well see the offical, full "launch" of PaperClick in a matter of weeks. Why? It has to do w/ what I noticed and posted about yesterday regarding the recent Mobot changes. As soon as the Mobot deal is done, I think the "launch" will follow close behind.
Bottom line thought on this is, if no launch soon afterwards then why, why would Mobot have changed their website to reflect "paperclick" type changes which are in direct contradiction to their current ElleGIRL mobile marketing campaign? That just doesn't make sense if the Mobot "function" weren't going to be changed soon too, eliminating the need to manually send the picture via email or a code via text message to Mobot.
It's my thought that we could very well see in the December issue of ElleGIRL magazine a "different type" of Mobot mobile marketing campaign...one that's "Powered by PaperClick". ;)
I know some folks just hate to see posts like this and some even appear afraid to openly speak of the POSITIVE possibilities for fear of being branded a "pumper" or "dreamer" or whatever. It's always easier to think of the negative side of things...just ask a Badger. But, when I logically look at the developments that I'm seeing, it just makes sense. At least to me.
Time will tell how far off base I am with this thought.
Oh, and, Thanx to all that dig and contribute here which allows us all to better piece this puzzle together. Without those nuggets, thinking of the positive possibilities would be that much more difficult. That's why Badgers hate sites like this because they can't effectively smother the board w/ their fear mongering tactics. Why do you think they have to resort to hiring slimy amphibians to try and to their dirty work. lol! My pet lizard, Iggy, took care of that one though. Thanx, moderators!

freetoad: Can I call you "Chicken Little"? lns
success: Two "rights" can't make a wrong! eom
freetoad: You're either blind or full of it. EOM
Personalizit: No relying here. JMHO on what I think it'll take to finally calm some "nervous nellie's" around here. Drag out for years? I highly doubt that because I don't think Scambuy's pockets are that deep for them to consider doing that, JMHO based on no facts at all.
clawmann: I personally wouldn't mind that. It'll give me some extra time to rent a truck! Beep Beep Beep Beep... ;)
koko: HERE HERE!! :) lns
PClick: Also, I don't know if this means anything, but it also says, "This seller, slasm4e, prefers PayPal." hmmmmm, anything there? Who knows.

chartist1: A much appreciated lesson. Thnx, lns
ANTOHER BIG BOY enters the fray! YEAH!!! eom
Ahhh, freetoad, I see you relpied to me. How nice. Too bad you couldn't keep it "in bounds" so that I could have a chance to read it and properly reply. You'll learn...maybe.
Why are you here again? Your posting style begs one to be suspicious of your motives for hopping around here from time to time.
About Mobot: This is a done deal, IMO. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but originally w/ them they touted no necessary software needed and that ANY phone w/ internet connectivity and a camera (well, one can text message a code and manually send it to Mobot) could enter a Mobot contest. Correct?
Now, when you look at their demo on THEIR site it looks as identical as it could be to the PaperClick software w/ only a different logo and name (camera pic and "Paperclick" vs. an "M" and "Mobot"). The basic same hues of blue are used as well. Also, on their demo at their website, they show it NOW w/ apparently NO NEED to email a picture with NO return SMS message. Instead, NOW the picture is taken "INSIDE" the Mobot installed software and w/ no extra step of emailing that pic to Mobot the consumer instantly gets a response, and it's NOT an SMS or text message that's returned but rather BOLD, COLORFUL, FUN images and information (possibly even could be interactive at that point, adding to the user experience).
Compare that to the demo that's seen currently at the ElleGIRL magazine contest. They still tout "emailing the pic to Mobot" (or sending a code via text message to Mobot) for a return SMS message from the advertiser. They also show it by the user simply taking a straight, "standalone" picutre of the magazine add w/ their cameraphone w/ that picture being taken NOT inside the same "Mobot" branded software.
Any day now folks, any day now.
From current ElleGIRL contest: "To enter the sweepstakes take a picture of part of the Baby Phat Goddess perfume bottle on page 7 in the November '05 issue of ELLEgirl Magazine and send it to eg@mobot.com. If you do not have a camera phone, you can still participate by phone by registering and then sending a text message to 66268 saying "ellegirl" and the advertiser name (e.g. “eg babyphat or “ellegirl babyphat”) in the body of the message. Your carrier's standard text messaging and picture rates apply."
Now, from the current Mobot website: "At Mobot we are singularly focused on mobile visual search. Just point, click and connect."

It appears to me that nerves won't be calmed until one of two things (probably will take both) happen:
1) We get a HUGE NR of a "Big Boy" coming aboard to help w/ the "rollout" of PC, and
2) We get a NR on a Scambuy settlement (in the favor of NeoMedia, of course...I can't see this one ending like AirClic - it's too obvious that they are both companies are operating in the same space)
No worries here. The thing is, that underneath all the outward "concern" displayed by some on this board (and the playground) we all realize that a NR on a Scambuy outcome will only be that. News of the "finality" on that will only satisfy (pacify?) the worried shareholders and onlookers who are scared to get in before such an assurance/occurance.
Meanwhile, well before that, mucho will have taken place "behind the scenes" already and it's in my opinion, at that point, the flood gates will be released. Sure, they might be released sooner if we get out of this "quiet period" before that, but I don't think the real party will get started until Scambuy is officially settled.
I'll be sure to have a bottle chilled, ready to pop open that night when that occurs! JP, you gonna have the flower order ready to send to Ft.Meyers that day too!? (from all of us w/ much admiration!? :)
Oh, and JP, instead of a "drink on me" at LV, how about a "fat a** steak w/eggs on me" at 3am after we route the craps table (or it routes us...lol!)! :)
seeclear: Or, in the UK, "SPOT ON!" lol! eom
OT: Damn, SOG, I was just thinking the very same thought! loL!! What a long strange trip it's been. Feels like almost full circle, although I don't want to pass by the end of those days again anytime soon! loL!! OUCH!!
You just might have to trade that camper of yours in for Yacht to help land the BIG ONES you're gonna be catchin' in this here hole! :)

SeriousMoney: ROTFLMAO!! Could you imagine! I think more than one person here would miss Vegas after keeling over from a heart attack reading that news! "YEAAAAOOOOOOOO...oooooooo oo o beeeeeeeep........."
Cabernet: Ditto here. Hmmm, test complete? :)
OT: SeriousMoney: Click to vote on what? The "new" Google logo? If so, mark one vote for me on the second one! lol!
NEOMBRIDGE: hmmm, interesting. Maybe he's keeping quiet for a reason? My B-day's next week. Would love to see some KILLER PR(s) as a present(s)! :)
walden: Nice article, and after skimming it, this one line stuck out to me, "The received wisdom is that one search engine, in all probability the current market leader Google, will eventually dominate the market with the others going to wall."
Google may become that one dominating market leader for search as WELL as "navigation"..."Powered by PaperClick"
Oooooohhh, boy!
success: Totally. And, I forgot to add, be sure to click the "See the DEMO" link on the left side of that page. Pretty cool.
I wonder once the "deal is done" if they'll continue to use the "Mobot" name or if they'll switch that over to the, then rightful, "PaperClick" name?
Here it is again...

(ahh, sh*t, now I'm talkin like a teenage reader of ElleGIRL! "Like, "ohhhh, myyyy gossssh! Totally girl!" lol!)
cjzak: In addition to what success pointed out, by Mobot combining w/ NeoMedia's PaperClick structure, they now make their campaings the "one straight shot" of info transfer that PC can offer. Currently, Mobot utilizes a multi-step process that utilized SMS.
How "yesterday" is that!? lol!!

OT: beacon...maybe he's constipated!? (gut feeling) lol! Just kidding, aztreedoc. Feel free to delete. lns
OT: SOG....YEEEEHAAAAWWWWW! :) EOM
Gatortrapper: If you're concerned, then by all means, call NeoMedia and find out. Let us know if you do. TIA, lns
Neomlslt: Bingo! Thanx for that. Moderators: Would it be possible to put this info in the header so if it gets asked again it'll be easy to point to? Lay it all out, like. Just a suggestion. Like I mentioned, I love the teamwork here! lns
Drmyke: LOL! Kind of a rhetorical question since nobody knows. Sorry to confuse you, oh great healer. Now, don't bogart dude..."puff puff pass...." lol! ;)
Thanx, success. I love the teamwork here! :)
Personalizit: Yup, me too and according to AmericanBulls, today's candle "represents a tug-of-war between buyers and sellers." I think the buyers are gonna win this match. ;)

pennyheaven: Your welcome and Thank You for providing the name again of who put up that eBay PaperClick test site. Now, who was the one who said he worked for NeoMedia? Post relink, anybody?
TIA,
lns
pennyheaven: It's in the header, compliments of kokonutguy w/ the link below the screenshot.
Gatortrapper: Can anybody put "that" up on eBay w/ the PaperClick banner up there? Not being an eBay user, I don't know.
Apparently though, the person who put it up there is known to work for NeoMedia. I don't have time now to dig, but somebody here will be able to pull that info back out.
Drmyke: The same concept could apply to PaperClick keywords based on the location of the consumer accessing a particular keyword response.
"Pizza" areacode/zipcode "x", "y", "z"...
multiple KACHING, KACHING, KACHING!
Drmyke: Or, since we've been told this isn't dependant on an SP, will Branson/Virgin start their own keyword and barcode scanning promotion through T-mobile and the ability to download a possibly, Google-branded "GoWindow" and PC software to enable their customers to by-pass the need to use their kiosks if they have an PC enabled and cameraphone?
Shoot, it could be a "tag-team" effort there!
DING DING!!!
success: My comment on that is that the little "Google like text window" blurb in NeoMedia's Keyword Registry NR from a couple weeks ago was a HUGE hint in ONE way that users will be able to access a "branded" PaperClick "GoWindow". I mean, my gosh, they wouldn't "name drop" like that in an official press release of something HUGE they're launching if there weren't some connection.
It leads me to believe that this (download directly through Google's homepage) could be one of the first ways (and not the last) folks will be able to have their web-enabled cellphones and PC's equipped w/ a "GoWindow" for (anywhere/anything) keyword navigation simplicity.
Of course, JMHO.
