stockcharts says won't be back up for the close.
Working around the clock to get it fixed.
Geez lol.
TIV did recently, as I recall ...
... along with a lot of whining about a short "attack".
Sounded a bit like the Overstock CEO lol.
jonesie
lol jagman,
You can see how much time I've had to actually look into stocks lately, geez, just finished a move of residence location. Just passing CFW along as a tip from a knowledgeable acquaintance, when he talks I usually buy first and do DD later, unless the chart is just atrocious.
waitedg, thanks for the support thought.
jonesie
One to look at perhaps.
Doubloon, I know you like these "undiscovered" oil/gas plays, just thought I'd run it by you, I bought some the other day ~ $4.50, have added a few, and am hoping for a bit of a dip to buy more.
CFW is the stock. (I know, I know, these Canadian oil stocks are all over the place out there )
The below is from another board. Someone I know from mutual involvement in trading TIV told me about CFW and thinks its stock price may appreciate quite a bit before long. Just FYI
"On the left hand side of canopetro.com you find their latest conference presentation. It's right under the fact sheet.
CFW has a PV-10 today based on about 5MMBOE proven. If you take the forward looking statements and the integrity of CFW mgt. into account, you don't have to look too far ahead, not even as far as Thanksgiving. If they execute their (fully funded) FY
'06 CapEx plan and add $245MM to their PV-10 value, they will add more than that to CFW's market cap.
If they close their latest accretive acquisition, the whole company's valuation picture will be revised upward, because it will double production and more than double proven producing reserves. I don't know what the probables are, but if they're less than average among the other CFW projects, say 8:1 to the PDP, there's 50MMboe probable reserves to boost PV-10 value soon as EOR gets implemented.
Nowata Phase III lab test results are imminent. With those disclosed, they will be able to project what will happen at Nowata when they implement their ASP Pilot program. The Nowata Pilot waterflood is already funded.
They currently produce about 950 boe/d, for gross annual revenue of roughly $21MM @ $60/bbl, and the company's price to sales ratio is 5. After acquisition, P/S drops to 2.5, but not for long, capiche?
There's no exploration risk.
There's no financing risk.
The acquisition is not reflected in today's pricing. CFW is a microcap stock that few people know about, and fewer still understand.
I think they will accomplish their objectives as they claim. I spend time studying other candidates for investing, and if I find a better one, I will let you know, but if I can't find a better one, I will keep on saying what great numbers I see before me in CFW."
Doubloon, by the way, this guy got in UPL VERY early and has made a killing in it.
jonesie
clawmann, that's good stuff, thanks.

p.s. Speaking of Overture, the "sellout" management of that company really, um, er, oh yeah, TICKED me off a while back, what a great company with THEIR PayPerClick, and they sold out to Yahoo! WAY to early and WAY too cheap. I was in Overture in a BIG way.
p.p.s. Hmmm, I guess that was kind of OT lol.
and lastly ....
... this chart gave a "bulletproof" entry point a few days ago with a very nice percentage gain up to this point:
Aroon Down(8) moving down from 100 made TIV interesting to watch. When Wm%R(9) crossed 50 to the upside, the entry point was likely a good one at that moment. That occurred on 10/25 for an entry point ~ $7.15.
Later, ChiOsc crossing 0 to the upside and +DI crossing -DI to the upside, and at a point over 20, gave corroboration and lent support for maintaining the position for further growth and adding more.
FYI and JMHO.
Good luck to all.

More on resistance (and support)
Interestingly enough, that support-now-turned-into-resistance level is borne out by Stockconsultants' website
CURRENT PRICE 8.23, at resistance, 7.93 ± 0.37, type single, strength 5
RESISTANCE ABOVE
+13.4% at 9.33 ± 0.44, type double, strength 9
+24.5% at 10.25 ± 0.48, type triple+, strength 10
+45.3% at 11.96 ± 0.56, type triple, strength 5
+56% at 12.84 ± 0.6, type triple, strength 10
+71% at 14.07 ± 0.66, type single, strength 8
SUPPORT BELOW
-16.3% at 6.89 ± 0.32, type single, strength 2
Among other technical attributes ...
TIV is right up against an old support line that was valid for quite a while. (The blue line in this chart.)
Those kinds of support lines, once breached to the downside, tend to become resistance on the way up.
A breakout above this resistance, particularly on heavy volume, could be a VERY good portent of things to come.

Well, at least CHID didn't get a dump ...

China Digital Communication Group Projects Revenues of $3.3 Million and Net Income of $700,000 for the Third Quarter of 2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Market Wire
08:04 a.m. 11/01/2005
LOS ANGELES, CA AND SHENZHEN, CHINA, Nov 01, 2005 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- China Digital Communication Group (CHID), one of the fastest growing battery components manufacturers in China, offered revenue and net income guidance for the third quarter of 2005.
For the third quarter of 2005, the Company projects revenues of approximately $3.3 million, up 232% compared to pro-forma unaudited revenues of $994,963 in the third quarter of 2004. The Company expects to generate net income of approximately $700,000, or $0.01 per fully diluted share, in the third quarter of 2005, representing an increase of 305% compared to unaudited net income of $173,014, or $0.00 per fully diluted share, for the third quarter of 2004. Share calculations are based on fully diluted shares outstanding totaling 54,460,626 projected for the third quarter of 2005 and 47,975,000 in third quarter of 2004.
The Company attributes its triple-digit growth trend to production expansion and continued cost-reduction through the third quarter of 2005. China Digital also experienced accelerated demand from Chinese mobile-phone manufacturers for its aluminum battery shells (ABS) and cap product lines. Yi Bo Sun, China Digital's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We continue to receive orders for steel and ABS products. Our ABS line is experiencing the most growth due to ongoing demand for lithium ion batteries, the emerging industry standard for consumer electronic products. Our subsidiary Shenzhen E'Jenie is the first manufacturer to establish technical and quality production standards in the lithium ion battery industry and has strengthened our competitive position. We are confident we will meet our revenue and earnings targets for the third quarter, as well as continue our strong upward growth trend in the coming quarters."
Use of Pro Forma Past Results
Sales and earnings comparisons with 2004 are based on pro forma figures. For the first three quarters of 2004, China Digital was a shell company with no significant revenues. On November 15, 2004 it acquired its operating subsidiary, E'Jenie Science & Technology Co. Ltd. (Shenzhen E'Jenie). In order to present an accurate picture of revenue and profit trends, the results stated here for 2004 consist of sales and profit from Shenzhen E'Jenie, as if China Digital had owned the subsidiary for the comparable period.
About China Digital Communication Group
China Digital Communication Group, through its Shenzhen E'Jenie subsidiary, is a rapidly growing manufacturer of battery shells and related technology for use in electronic products, primarily mobile phones. Since December 2003, the Company has adopted the approach of using licenses, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions to bring battery and telecom equipment makers in China to markets overseas. The Company's products now power digital cameras, camera phones, PDAs and laptop computers in East Asia and beyond. China Digital is continuing its expansion across China, while also seeking distribution partners in the United States. For more information, visit www.chinadigitalgroup.com .
lenshawn:
Well I was pretty much out of touch Thurs/Fri so missed the "fun".
However a limit buy order at .32 did get filled.
Yeah, nice to see that dip really, I still don't have enough shares :)
jonesie
p.s. I had another stock I'm overweighted in tank 20%+ on Thursday. I'm not sure how "still" my heart was Thursday evening ... the McCallan's helped.
OT: TS got me into SU in 2004 ....
Before I dumped him for being a putz lol.
Is he still pumping that one?
jonesie
What's driving this?
Other than the technical bounce off .31 I would figured on.
jonesie
MLTO, interesting action
Been wanting some cheaper shares after that steady runup, may let it settle down a bit though.
What started THAT?
jonesie
DSTI
Mostly busy getting some things done the last few days, and the rest of the week, but here's one I've been in and out of that is making a nice little move today.
Fairy Square too it seems.
Decent news out today, but not enough to really hold it up there, stock tends to fall back, but anyway, interesting to see.
OT:
Time to use the "make the whiners disappear" button again.
What happened to good ol' life sentences when it comes to jail?
jonesie
Chart looking decent again.
Confirming some indicator moves I like.
Did that before recently and didn't go anywhere though.
It'll be interesting to see what happens THIS time.
Yummy time again.
Maybe just maybe "they" will take it down to that "cold" lower trendline after all. Could hit that trendline and put in a triple bottom all at once.
Funny how those things work out sometimes.
When/if it hits there I'll be adding as many more shares as I did the last two times it dove sub-$0.30 briefly. And this time I think (JMHO and SWAG) it truly might be the last chance to buy at that level.
You guys have a great weekend.
Off to the mountains here.
Don't let the market crash! ;)
jonesie
digitick,
For my part, I've got the Extra! which gives the charting and scanning, along with more "favorites" list capacity than I will ever use. I also added the RealTime feature since I am so used to having that with Fidelity as well. Can't remember what parts of all that the Basic service offered since I kind of jumped past that.
jonesie
digitick,
I have the same issue with Fidelity's ActiveTraderPro, no Aroon indicator available, I mentioned it to them a while back.
Same solution as Lefty's, I subscribed to stockcharts.com which I really enjoy. The charting is good, they are "postable", and the Scan Engine is fast and very user friendly. The list of plusses goes on and on.
Good luck!
jonesie
TIV continues to be indecisive
The hourly chart shows clearly the recent Magic Box/Fairy Square setup with other confirming indicators indicating the short term ~$6 to $8 play. The double top around the open on 10/18, along with W%R, ChiOsc and +DI all failing continuation, indicated the sell.
A similar setup may be occurring, awaiting W%R confirmation before watching more closely.
JMHO

LOL, wow Marty, tough crowd today eh?
;)
GO NEOM!
jonesie
and we all question yours toads LOL
But only in the "laughing WITH you" way! ;)
Have a nice day! Thanks for the tick by tick, what do I need this real time Level II and Time & Sales for when I have you!
jonesie
LOL Cab, I understand the math.
Just picking at the fine point of "over" the edge or "at" the edge.
The curse of the analytical. ;)
End of my input on the subject.
GO NEOM!
jonesie
"which puts him over the top"
Does it? Or right at the very edge of "the top", whereupon he DOES slip back 2 feet?
LOL
OT: But once he got to the upper edge
of the well... would he really be "out"?
LOL, Google might have to re-evaluate the answer.
doubloon, been loving mlto, great job!
Didn't get enough, hoping for "some" retracement, think it'll happen? Sure looks like onward and upward.
regards,
jonesie
Thanks for digging that up success!!!
Great news!!! All part of the puzzle!!!! 3 for 3!!!!!
I like it.
jonesie
A few others from the scans ...
... expanding the lower bolly "hit" criteria a bit, including a BB median line hit, and, well, just looking for anything that had anything close to a confirmed MB setup LOL.
(not sure why the first scan didn't pick up RG, possibly because the close was too far from the lower bolly.)
1 scan hit yesterday
Was yesterday a bad market day or something? ;)
This came from using leftybobcat's 2 and 3 day Magic Box setup scan, looking for lower bolly (only) hits (+/- 5%) on day 1, scanning stockchart.com's entire database and all of my watch lists.
1 hit.
(appears ihub may have a hangover this morning, the symbol is SMDI)
I've been getting charts and scans all day.
Just FYI
Bought some more tdyh today
That report looks GOOD.
Good luck to all.

Post of the day craft_work!! eom
As posted on Yahoo on Friday:
=================================================
Monday is due for a bounce, relief rally, dead-cat bounce, whatever one wants to call it.
=================================================
Hated to see the gap up at the open today, maybe it won't have to be filled. It would be better if TIV went ahead and filled that gap and got it over with.
JMHO

Dow and Naz averages both setting up Magic Boxes
Dow has confirmed intraday today, Naz hasn't.
ANSI, what a gapper.
Just read where about 20% of the O/S was short too.
Black Monday for those guys.
ripper, indeed LOL
I checked to see if ANSI had popped out in any of my scans but other than an unconfirmed Magic Box 2 day lower bolly setup, it had not. Apparently they did a good job of keeping the acquisition quiet.
There was a good bit of short interest in ANSI according to what I just read somewhere, perhaps 20% of the outstanding, although I haven't checked to confirm. Ouchie LOL.
Yes, NEO.F has moved 3 and 4 "cents" on that exchange
(or whatever the denomination is) on 5k to 12k shares, in both directions, several times.
Not sure if this comparison tells anything.
