Wow...bagging on Disney? I don’t really understand your beef other than being a star wars fanatic and upset that the franchise didn’t go the way fans wanted it too..it’s fine I can understand that...but to suggest that the company has no creative talent and or its theme park and other revenue sources isn’t up to snuff...well that just myopic.
Must be that 3d real time high you get from the new “Dominion” strain of California greenery!
“Either way, the AOT results have been extremely impressive and it offers oil companies and pipeline operators an opportunity for serious increased cash flow. Let's get these results which I think will be good and AOT can begin sales.
“
I’d call the inability of the company to monetize whatever benefit it purports to have, as anything but “extremely impressive”! In fact its been an epic failure by any standard of measure over the last 21 years!
Exactly!...Qsep hasn't really deviated from its predecessor's tactics of delays and diversions. Take for example the latest power supply excuse. This is just a morphed up version of the TCPL power supply problem. I remember how Qsep said they outfitted AOT with a power supply in accordance with specs provided by Temple and the Wizard of Tao! Now QSEP management tries again for a similar excuse which obviously is to shift any sort blame to a third-party power supply manufacture. This clearly is an example of the perils of releasing fluffy optics behind a safe harbor "update" for a one-horse company with an unproven prototype. Qsep itself doesn't even consider this paid demo site a "material" event. I recall TCPL and KMCC tests were fully reported at every little step. In fact, the day TCPL pulled the ejection handle and terminated its contract, the KMCC contract agreement was reported simultaneously.
A picture does not suddenly transform a penny stock into a legitimate solid footed business. The Tcpl test failed. Kmcc test failed !
Qsep has lots of “props” collecting dust in Tomball but no path towards profitability.
All of the companies failed products (100% to date) have been based on
Pseudoscience ...no commercial adoption and generally a textbook example of bending the scientific method to keep funding flowing in.
Let’s review a small slice of all the concocted products that died quietly over the last two decades:
ZEFS dead
Cat-Mate dead
Eco-Chgr- dead
MagnaChgr-dead
Elektra- ER
company is intimating a reactivation of this worthless “mpg” product ( Rasmussen has one strapped to his truck) concept was destroyed in public documents by a scientists that actually work in the field of modern combustion engines.
Aot- current zombie status. Waiting to get a “paid for” test that it can point to as being successful yet after two years the first one fails after turning it on!
Same story...different crew.
The current iteration for crude is a Frankenstein of all its predecessor products and the public is expected to ignore the companies track record because a new squad is in the game! Today It’s the same scenario. New test...unknown partner...lots of speculation and wildly inaccurate analysis of ROI.
Conflating who is invested with actual performance is a common error OTC investor make when there is no sales or developed model for such and Qsep has exploited that peculiarity with great success. Eichler, Massary, Brockovich...all signaled that this was a ready for prime time technology when it hasn’t even reached the point of legitimate long term field testing. The only difference this time is that they can spin a yarn for many months.
Lol...this group has been promoted as an “institutional investor” for years and now that it is clear it’s simply s holding bin its spun as no big deal. Which ever way the wind blows Qsep excuses bends with the wind direction.
Look to me like Qsep is being sold into every bit of news they can squeeze out. It’s an ongoing sales campaign of converted shares now exiting stage left in steady stream of daily sales. Who could blame them...at 300-400% gains it’s like printing money. This is the game! However it does not change the basic story of the company products or management effectiveness.
The reoccurring problem for current management is that they once again “painted themselves into a corner” with these promoted now blown timelines and another technical malfunction and setback. The excuse sounds a little sketchy and way too similar to previous issues to be just a simple part replacement.
I am not surprised by the techncal issues. It’s the result of the year over year cash burn which now puts undue pressure on management to release news to satisfy hungry investors. Legitimate companies don’t promote the storyline of testing that has been presented by Qsep , until they have sales and have demonstrated its technology value in terms of an ongoing business. That hasn’t happened after 21 years of trying and handful of new management shakeups every few years.
Let me take a guess....its a faulty power supply that had nothing to do with the great white pipe technology. Any other answer would need an 8k or at minimum another update.
The good news it’s a simple fix that only requires more time and patience. ($$) The bad news....well of course there is none as management wants all investors to feel warm and snuggly like a full glass of warm milk!
Still doesn’t answer the question why Tao published that info a year after this so called proof. Btw it’s not on me to prove Tao’s theories. Any manufacture in the world will provide its customers with key operational metrics such as energy used per unit of crude transported. To this date this number has never been revealed directly and must be extracted by simulation. Qsep management must believe interested parties will not go the extra mile to get the truth. I will!
As far as PD pumps...here some info that pretty much spells it out.
“Another major difference between the pump types is the effect viscosity has on the capacity of the pump. You will notice in the flow rate chart how the centrifugal pump loses flow as the viscosity goes up but the PD pump’s flow actually increases. This is because
the higher viscosity liquids fill the clearances of the pump causing a higher volumetric efficiency. Remember, this chart shows only the effect of viscosity on the pump flow; when there is a viscosity change there is also greater line loss in the system. This means you will also have to calculate the change in pump flow from the first chart for this pressure change.”
So higher viscosity liquids have “increased” flow over centrifugal pumps in positive displacement pumps! No pumping station moving crude in volume at turbulent flows are using this type of pumping system. It’s all
meaningless especially since RMOTC was paid for their testing and did not continue or authorize further studies and promptly closed up shop soon after...but we all are to believe it was an astounding success!
“
To help with the math you should know that 46.56 cubic meters of oil is equivalent to approx. 293 barrels of oil. Please note that the power to treat the oil was 100 watts or 0.10kW. Beakers and test tubes treated 1 barrel of oil using 0.10kW while the blue prototype AOT treated 293 barrels while using the same 0.10kW. I'd say that is a significant increase in the scale of efficiency. “
Another absurd calculation ignoring the reality of scale. The power requirement will go up with an increase in treatment size not be reduced to 1/200th! Frictional and resistance losses of charging a moving batched composition of ever changing crude oil
would be certainly more power then a mesh in capillary tube. This is just another story Qsep floats knowing most will never look deeper.
Yet the facts remain indisputable!
The test at RMOTC was run in 2012 while Tao’s paper that contains this critical piece of data which was submitted (Aug 2013) and published in October of 2013! Forget about the fact that a positive displacement pump was used at the RMOTC site and pumped crude through a loop at nowhere near the pressure or velocity of a real active line while Tao was in middle of it all changing parameters and claiming he could feel the magic! It’s a silly story that always makes me laugh!
“Especially at low temperature, the electric field is extremely efficient. The technology consumes very little energy. For example, at -3.1 °C, we only need 0.1025 kW h electricity to treat one barrel crude oil and reduce its viscosity by 82.1%”
Apparently never doesn’t mean never!
This was Tao,s “go to”paper in quantifying this alleged phenomena. Published at the end of 2013 and constantly referenced by management up to their last days. Last paragraph last page says it all.

“
4. Conclusions
In summary, the basic science associated with the present mi- cro–nanotechnology is proved to be universal, working for all kinds of crude oil, including asphalt base crude oil and paraffin base crude oil. In addition to the present US crude oil sample, we have tested many other crude oil samples from all over the world. Elec- tric field is found to be very effective in reducing all their viscosi- ties. Especially at low temperature, the electric field is extremely efficient. The technology consumes very little energy. For example, at ??3.1 °C, we only need 0.1025 kW h electricity to treat one barrel crude oil and reduce its viscosity by 82.1%. At the deep water tem- perature, we only need 0.325 kW h electricity to treat one barrel crude oil and reduce its viscosity by 48.9%. It has no doubt that this micro–nanotechnology will play very important role in the future crude oil production and transportation, including off-shore crude oil production and transportation.”
“Seems like I didn't miss a day at QSEP. Don't know all the Science, but know the business... With 5 other AOT's and an important Part.... Would seem like CEO Lane would have had an Extra one in his Office Closet on such an Important AOT "DEMONSTRATION". That being said, looking at Financials QSEP has Breached the Contract to Temple University many TIMES...
“
Another interesting fact is that Qsep continues to pay the majority of yearly licensing “maintenance” fees for the fuel injection license not the oil treatment license. These are adding up now with a fat 10% interest but Elektra never saw the light of day. Honestly it’s amazing Temple continues to play ball here.
Picture gold flowing out the great white magic pipe at full velocity and investors catching all of it! That’s pretty much been the STWA/Qsep promise for a decade and three management shifts. All whom exited through golden doors. Heck even the pseudoscience electronic water softener companies can sell units at Home Depot so I cant believe Qsep’s latest crack team have not been able to put anything on the books.
Tao has stated in his papers that the treatment is .10kWh per barrel. If this line moves 100k a day then it’s power requirement would be .42 megaWatts per hour. The last several power supplies were 5kW regulated LH style made by Glassman. As anyone can see the Tcpl was sent with a 4x 5kW (1 per chamber) for a total of 20kW which was according to Tao,s own report was underpowered by a factor of 100! Even if you swallow the improvement in efficiencies BS it is still a crap shoot what they actually sent. I would not expect management to add much color here.
The company has had more than adequate time to work out all the bugs yet they can never exit the realm of being stuck in a perpetual R&D bubble , armed with only a one horse product and a whacky scientist willing to claim any result necessary. The biggest thing going for Qsep is that they are public and they acutely understand how to convert ownership into cash.
Batched oil is just that! It’s composition is ever changing and the idea that this fluid can be physically modified to such precision by simply applying a regulated high voltage low amp direct current, is the basic problem with this concept. A software base control system that constantly adjust the various field parameters within the pipeline would be the heart and soul of any such a technology but Qsep never mention any such system. Logic would dictate that any power supply would be Intimately connected to such a controller and allow real time adjustments that would update every 1/1000 of a second. Instead they apparently have on and off switch!
Qsep management has spun this new delay as a faulty power supply. Here’s a quick recap of the previous issues: Tcpl was terminated because it’s power supply was underpowered. Kmcc power supply was not specifically mentioned however it was revealed that the electrified anode/cathode grids quickly shorted to ground. Management reported all problems were solved. Now the unknown site is stalled because the third generation power supply is acting erratically!
Km did one better...they agreed to pay but once they went through several rounds of trying to get the magic pipe not to short to ground they decided...the heck with it! Never paid a dime and Qsep reported the lease was in suspension. Most college students who have taken a basic business law class understand consideration (payment to Qsep) would need to take place before any contract could be terminated or suspended. That deception continues under the same management today...old math Mike McMullen was right in the middle of it!
First off Qsep is anything but a research company...they are primarily a money raising venture. Secondly, just because investors put in money to finance all of this nonsense is not a correlation to the efficacy of the product. Coupling the two especially after years of management deception and incompetence is not a logical deduction by any stretch.
Agreed nor would Temple let Qsep get past due in arrears to the tune of million dollars.
“
It seems to me that you are agreeing that the process DOES work...
FEASIBILITY, is another issue. Will the AOT be commercially successful??”
Semantics. If Aot process worked it is decidedly feasible. If it worked in the lab but could not scale into a full size application then Aot didn’t work. Proof is in adoption rate which is 0.0.
Old post with insight into the history of magic pipe power issues and the snow job that previous management pawned off as a cover!
“CEO own releases cites Tao report which clearly shows the .105 kWh per barrel number to treat oil! (low temp is actually three times higher) They must bank on its investors not being able to do multiplication. You would think they would edit that out as it shows how underpowered the rig was during the beta test! Yes I know...the Qsep crack engineers have purportedly now fixed the problem with a proprietary insulation...wow they discovered another use for polyurethane!! However as of 2013 paper they still are reporting a power requirement
.105 kwh x 500k barrels per day which would require a 2.1 Megawatt per hour power supply. They shipped the Tcpl proto with only a 20kw power supply or 1/100th of the required power that Tao and the company continually reference. Then they came back and reported that the power supply was underpowered. Gee really???Just another in a long list of discrepancies that management won't acknowledge or discuss. Instead you get 20 pages of meaningless copy.

“
a) Not the same problem we had with any of the other tests. With TC we had the completely wrong power supply unit, that was the problem there regarding power, among other political problems. With KM we had impedance issues, neither of which is the problem here. “
b) Simply having a back up would not have fixed the issue, it doesn't work like that. First of all it's expensive, $70,000, not that this is a main deterrent from having a 2nd, but its a factor. Second they had no reason to question the power supply, they ran a ton of tests prior to installation. However under usage during the test it failed. Think of it as running too many electrical items in your house and you blow a fuse due to the increased power usage. That's not what they said, I'm giving this example. But thats basically what happened. Third, the power specs of the power supply are based on the API of the crude oil. So you don't order 2 because if you are wrong on the settings you simply change the settings on that unit, you don't spend another $70,000 for another unit with potentially the wrong settings also, because then you will have to pay to change both power supplies, or have to buy 2 new ones. “
That’s about the most convoluted excuse I’ve heard to date! Wrong settings...blown fuse!!!! hahaha!!!!
It’s just too convenient to say it’s the fault of a third party “specially designed” power supply then to say hey we suck at electrical engineering. People are acting like a power supply is a PLC and actually controls the magic pipe. It doesn’t ...it provides power with certain tolerances. An integrated control system would be responsible for energizing the anode/cathode array and yet that system has never been even detailed but it’s no question it’s a vital component. Investors are to swallow the notion that the power supply just failed randomly by luck. In business, luck is a function of how management executes its directives. Quality control, electrical and mechanical engineering is all part of deal.
Qsep must be:
“ born under a bad sign”
While we will not be disclosing pipeline operator's confidential information, we will be collecting AOT test results and analyzing operational benefits. We look forward to sharing this AOT-specific data and analysis with prospective customers, as well as updating our shareholders as the project progresses."
Qsep has made a living out of distorting the truth for decades. It’s how they continue to raise money on the backs of uninformed investors every year. The so called DD experts are clearly biased beyond reason and are also armed with a poor understanding of how technology and products are developed and field tested in the market. New investors should never trust anyones opinion where its constantly claimed they know more than what actually is taking place. Especially from those that cannot explain the scientific basis for making any of these outlandish claims. Copying and pasting Tao’s quotes doesn’t not make for an independent view of an OTC company that has year after year fail to execute the most basic steps in developing a legitimate business.
Unrestricted? Please... Qsep already acknowledged the pipeline operator would not be sharing it’s operational data which is the only thing that really matters. Investors have been spoon fed lies for so long there is no legitimate reason anyone should believe anything they release as being factual unless they land a deal....which they won’t. This is a decade long college experiment that allowed Tao to get published and provide some promo momo for Temple and sponsored grants for the Magic Pipe. Basically a version of P-hacking where the results are consistently distorted and biased so as to keep funding flowing in.
lol....the same claim has been made for years! They send Tcpl a 5kW power supply to power its claimed Tea Pot equivalent Aot yet that power supply was deemed under powered even though according Tao’s own papers would make it overkill by a huge factor! Then Kmcc couldn’t even turn on with shorting to ground! Now another issue!!! Good lord..
The reality is Aot or any other products Qsep has promoted has never been field tested beyond a day or two and that’s what everyone is seeing now. 3 years of new management and they still are having the same type of power supply issues.
The whole notion of running a current through a pressurized vessel moving an explosive liquid will be an impossible sell. Power supply acting “erratically” ...so is management.
Lol...the old “Houston we’ve got a problem” excuse! It’s a good one to put it on the power supply! Better blame a third party like glassman or other unknown supplier then to take the rap themselves! It’s a crap excuse that has been successfully spoon fed to the fish before. Curiously, if the power supply is such a delicate and critical component and so much rides on this event...why would it take 4weeks just to get back up? Somebody get on a plane, takes a check and buys another ps and gets it shipped to the site in 3 days. Since Qsep apparently has no issue with flying around to small cap conferences. You would think solving this issue would be priority one!
Finally to management. Stop thanking the consultants for their giant insight. Thank them when the company has sales. Investors have heard enough of that nonsense for the last decade.
Well there you go...investors in the know selling while the power supply issue is floated again for third time. Didn’t company learn from the Tcpl pilot which wasn’t producing enough power or KMCc test where it’s was shorting to ground and went back and fourth with its supposed “value engineering nonsense”! This company is the gang that could not shoot straight. Fortunately the golden pundits always say it’s a buying opportunity and investors seldom call management to the carpet. It’s pathetic but wildly entertaining! I guess having a spare backup power supply is just overkill for the magic pipe. Besides it better to blame it on something Qsep didn’t manufacture...its a classic deflection release.
Funny...watching the excuses fly. Qsep in all its forms has historically made outlandish claims since its early formation in 1998. This is nothing new. Market is just dishing out a good old fashion “I’ll believe it when I see it” dance! Qsep is still easily 300-400% over valued so just like water the pps will always seek to find its correct level.
If getting a pilot on Tcpl or Kmcc isn’t “big news” I don’t what is...although the bigger news is that the device didn’t work and was returned to sender.
I never stated Qsep was going BK. I did say and continue to state that they have run out of cash due to a decade of bloated overhead and executives comp packages laced with some old fashion mismanagement.
This has resulted in a spike in dilution and continual loss of ownership for investors.
Last Q Qsep diluted 16% which is twice the previous yearly rate! That’s not stopping anytime soon. Fortunately Qsep best ability is selling paper to finance future possibilities. As long as they can find willing and able investors willing to hold stock for the lockup they can continue for another 10 years.
Qsep management must believe its investors never check its time estimates and they are obviously still ok with making predictions that they never seem to hit. Usually this is not a great character trait of a public company..but in penny land it seems to be a requirement listed on an executive comp package!
Just to keep it all straight:
2019Q1
While management focused on finding a partner and finalizing terms of the demonstration project, our engineering team worked throughout 2018 to improve our AOT design and prepare one of our inventoried AOT units for deployment. All system upgrade, inspections and testing protocols were completed in December 2018, and the AOT unit is now ready for delivery to the demonstration site. The pipeline operator finalized site selection and began site design and engineering in January 2019. We shipped the AOT equipment to the demonstration site in April 2019. Based on the most recent project update provided by the pipeline operator, we anticipate installation to be completed in late May 2019 and anticipate demonstration operations to begin early June 2019.
<<begin early June>>
2018-10k
Plans moving forward are centered on achieving commercial adoption of our AOT device leading to sales and revenue in 2019. Over the past year, we have met with many industry executives who expressed interest in AOT subject to seeing and evaluating commercial operations and data. Assuming successful operations, the demonstration AOT project should provide data requested such as real-time changes in viscosity, pipeline pressure drop reduction and increases in pipeline operating flowrates. All collected data will be normalized such that it can be used to evaluate the financial and operational benefits across a wide range of commercial operating scenarios without disclosing confidential details of our demonstration partner’s operations. We believe that real-world data from our proposed pilot AOT project may be used to accelerate our desire to achieve commercial adoption of our AOT technology, positioning us to re-engage with industry executives, targeting sales in late 2019.
Based on the most recent project update provided by the pipeline operator, we anticipate shipping the AOT equipment to the demonstration site in early April 2019, with installation to be completed in late April. We anticipate demonstration operations to begin early May 2019.
<<Early May>>
“
Upon completion of inspection and testing protocols, the modified AOT was certified for operations and is now ready for delivery to the demonstration site. We expect site preparation (foundation, electrical interconnect, etc.) to begin in January, with delivery, installation and operations to begin shortly thereafter.
“
From October 2018:
“
Although final project terms may vary from those described in the current statement of work, we and the operator have a general understanding that, subject to the execution of a definitive agreement, the demonstration project will operate under an initial term of 36 months, targeting installation in December 2018”
From May 2018 update:
We are continuing to make progress on our 2018 targets for the installation and operation of one or more demonstration projects, with four customers at the site-location phase. In addition, we have begun to build supplemental relationships outside of the midstream market, with gaining interest in trucking and ocean shipping. Once again, we thank you for your support and we look forward to a great year.
From March 2018 update :
“I would like to update you on progress we've made since my previous shareholder update letter. In January, I described three prospective customers considering AOT pilot programs. I am excited to report the first of these three potential pilots has received preliminary approval and has moved from concept to planning phase, targeting pilot installation in July 2018.”
<<July 2018>>
From Jan 2018 update:
“Based on current timelines and discussions, we are projecting installation of our first pilot test in Q2-Q3 2018, followed by 30 to 60 days of testing to be completed by the end of Q3 2018. Subject to successful testing, we would execute definitive agreements to sell or lease equipment for the expanded rollout as defined in the original LOI in Q4 2018.
Based on current discussions with prospective pilot customers, we believe this schedule is achievable, putting us on target to begin commercial deployment by year-end. Armed with pilot project data, we should be positioned for accelerated sales in 2019 and beyond.”
<<2019 sales!!>> yeah right!
Impossible to “time” anything with Qsep. They operated on a wholly different set of rules determined by how much rope investors are willing to allow at any given point in time.
I’ve find the conspiracy theories especially entertaining and hopefully more color will be added on how it must be the chem and additive companies stacking the deck. My personal fav!!
If AOT is commercially proven to work on oil it will work well with DRA as the company has stated.
The company admits in its last shareholder meeting recording, that AOT just "plays well" with DRA and isn't replacing it anytime soon AND the much anticipated paid for demo project is on a line which doesn't use DRA..so confirmation won't be coming anytime soon! Company acknowledges that this so-called "additional benefit" has not been proven and that it just recently added an "in-house mini lab" that could be used to conduct further research. IMO that is why the KMCC condensate project never had a chance. They were trying to prove Tao's turbulence mumbo jumbo and it all fell flat. If AOT is on for longer than a week or two and buying hasn't increased then this certainly doesn't bode well in proving that QSEP tech is disruptive. It's not even in the ballpark sitting in the bleeders!
https://zoom.us/recording/play/m2BXDwGOKQKZzLVvMntgrH7RldC0LMegumYWBiJuooqR-mwA10s1XLVngsEojrIO?startTime=1541779444000
Another major violation of laws Mother Nature. Turbulent flows magically transformed to exhibit a pressure gradient of a trickling stream. This claim is even more crazy than the nutty 100 hour reduction of viscosity by apply few micro amps. Qsep and Tao publicist must be a defendant of PT Barnum.
