If inflation is factored in, it's not at the all-time high. I forgot the numbers, but when it popped way back in 1980 it was equivalent to $2,400 or so in today's inflated dollars. I forgot the exact figure, and I feel too lazy right now to look it up. LOL
Still a ways to go for gold and especially silver. The latter is no way near an all time high. Not even 2011's high.
"...silver should be bought for wealth preservation purposes and not for speculation. Therefore it must be held in physical form outside a fragile banking system."
True. Silver and gold should be seen as STORES OF VALUES. Not 'investments.'
Anyone noticing the big move in gold today?
Agreed--although I like gold and silver, if we ever go into a 'road warrior' scenario, you'll want ammo, canned goods, cigarettes, little booze bottles, medicine, and toilet paper for trading purposes.
Gold and silver are stores of value. NOT investments.
$4.18 AH
WTF
Plenty of support here at no bid.
Just kidding--Happy New Year
A close of .0006 is more likely.
0004
0003
0002
0001
0000.
-.00001
-.00002
ETC. Heck if this thing could go below zero, it would.
If so, it's doing it in a roundabout way. First it wants to go to the center of the Earth.
Sorry, baggies. This is going to no bid.
You're right. Stick a fork in this mushroom. It's done.
It's already ugly here.
It's game over if we allow their digital currency and social credit system to get ahold of us.
UVXY is doing good today--hope you were able to make some dough while it's on the table.
"Is Mnuchin really the person Americans want overseeing emergency loan programs at the Fed, an institution that can legally create trillions of dollars electronically out of thin air. "
NO!
Trump was supposed to drain the Swamp, but he kept appointing Swamp people to do the job. Gee, I wonder why the Swamp grew instead. Bill Barr? He protected the swamp. Mnuchin? He protected Wall Street bankers. If you really want to make money, put it all down on a fraud derivative instrument.
Obama/Dodd-Frank reformed nothing. The one percent and Wall Street made out like bandits while the little guy and Main Street got the shaft.
And now the global mega-corporations are allowed to stay open and rake in billions in profits while small businesses are shut down across the land. The concentration of wealth and power into the hands of a tiny cabal of overlords won't end well.
But at least UVXY popped today. Silly me--waiting for the $9s. LOL
Everything has been corrupted--our financial system, our justice system, our voting system, and of course our political system. If a tiny silver of mega billionaires want the markets to go up they will because they own the printing press that is the Federal Reserve. As for what the little people want--ha. The average man always gets screwed.
Breaking down--fresh lows coming. Probably heavily naked shorted.
Only $2k or so worth of volume, but that's higher than usual.
It's hard to buy at a cent, though. Without news, it feels like a soap bubble ready to pop back down to .001.
It's going even lower tomorrow. Sorry.
Profit takers crowded the exits and the price tanked. Still has further to drop.
It will drop more, don't worry about that. It's going back from whence it came.
All the hype I saw over the holiday weekend and naturally it crashes and burns.
Good lesson that should be reinforced to all the cheerleaders.
Not gonna crash tomorrow. Futures looking minty.
I won't touch this again unless it dips into the $9s. Maybe not even then.
Trump sends the 5,592 page pork bill back to Congress. Wants more for the American people.
Futures are sliding.
Still holding this--maybe even overnight. Two days in a row! Unprecedented for me.
It can stay asleep for a long time, though. Rip Van Winkle says RIP to your money.
A forward split would do that--rather than outright dilution.
I'll look for it, too.
I also have a feeling that this is relatively undiscovered by many. It's not like this outfit makes much noise, lol
Still holding from my buy back around $7. It sure is volatile and low volume.
Another run to $60 is fantasy, but it can move back up fast even with a tiny amount of buying pressure. Did it today, but it didn't last.
I got some back at $12. Yeah, I'll probably regret it.
Anyone reload at $12?
Let's see how short-lived this rebound is...
What's going on here? A run based on nothing but air?
BREAKING NEWS: EVERYTHING IS ALL OVER THE PLACE
Around $5 or so.
The Fed is essentially money laundering at this point, lol
Sometimes the negative comments are correct.
This is one of those times.
Nice flip today for those able to time it right...
It matters a LOT. If we go cashless, the powers that be will be able to track everything we purchase. It makes it easier for them to tax, fee, and fine us. It aligns with their upcoming social credit system. We disobey some minor point of their political correctness and our 'credit' dollars could start to vanish. Try to pay for a train or plane and we have a low social credit score? They'll block the ticket purchase. That's fine--we'll just pay in cash. Ooops! No more cash.
Like you, I am old and I'm also a pessimist because this stuff is coming no matter how loudly I shout out and warn the world. The world is sleepwalking in obeisance toward tyranny.
What does this have to do with UVXY? A lot. As pessimists we expect the market to snap back to reality. It should, but it never does. So we try to flip it in such because we also know reality has been put on its ear--at least temporarily. Who knows how long this temporary condition will last?
The great reset means impoverishment to most Americans and the further enrichment of the 1 percent. That schism is intentional. The Fed and the rulers know that poor people are just scrambling to survive and won't question things such as their own enslavement.
What will make UVXY go up? A collapse in the S&P. That will happen due to deflation. People will need to raise cash and they'll dump their stocks and 401ks to get it. That happens when there are no jobs and people can't pay their mortgages. it should be happening already, but the Fed is backstopping everything with their liquidity injections. How long can they keep doing that? The can kicking will continue until someone kicks the Fed's can. I don't see that happening. The billionaires have made sure that their corrupt crony capitalist system remains in place.
Meanwhile, I will continue to flip UVXY...because after all, I'm a pessimist. Things can still go wrong even for the bad guys!
It has been hopelessly corrupt for a long time. The debt dollar they print punishes the little guy. The billionaire class gets first crack at the tranches of printing and then inflation is passed down to the struggling middle class, which is going away.
The Fed liquidity ends up widening the gulf between the rich and poor. We've long passed the point of no return when it comes to paying off the national debt. Soon it will be impossible to pay interest on it. That means taxes have to be raised. Those taxes take away earnings from workers and causes deflation. They count on that counteracting force to keep inflation in check. It really is a disgusting and immoral system of money that rewards cronies at the top and impoverishes everyone else.
How long can they keep it going? A lot longer than I ever thought. G. Edward Griffin, when he wrote his landmark book, "The Creature at Jekyll Island," thought the dollar would soon meet its demise during the 1980s. Thirty years later, the Fed system is still going. That's because the dollar IS still king. "King Dollar," as Larry Kudlow likes to call it. Everything is measured in terms of the buck. Bitcoin, gold, silver, other currencies--people need the dollar to determine what that stuff is 'worth.' Gold and silver may be real money, but it can't be spent until converted into dollars.
The dollar might be around a while longer, but if they make it digital and take away our paper...well, then it's game over. The Fed and the Billionairaucrats will rule as lords and everyone else will be their serfs.
The markets aren't tied to economic reality. Only to the Fed's liquidity. They'e printing billions for their fellow mega billionaires. It's criminal.
I did and I made money on it...but the past couple of trades were tepid. One I lost; one I won but in both instances I didn't make or lose much.
An epic run could occur if we end up in a civil war or something.
