O.T I have sent a couple of links to the mods (one mod. I don't think I can trade PM's with) to get their take about whether or not my posting the links would be appropriate on I-HUB.
I will let you know when I hear back. I assure you there is information out there which IMO can clarify things greatly.

O.T.
That made my day and also taught me to stay clear of things that just feel wrong!
Unlike LLEG!
The link in the I-Box for the town of Berlin’s home page has many indications IMO, the area feels LLEG has the right idea and is a good fit for the area's need to recover economically.

Berlin,
I assume you are not invested in the company and your sole purpose for being here is to cough, cough b/] educate we greedy I-Hub "aliens" about the true and accurate sentiment [b/] of the Berlin NH residential community. It sounds like not much of a discussion is even taking place as so many others feel the same way you do. Are you trying to say the consensus in Berlin NH is basically against lleg and you are providing us with the most honest and unbiased information available?
JMO, cause I am just wondering,

skumk,
Hi, there is a company here that invented a product that allows "drug testing" (for employment screening, law enforcement, military and other companies required to operate a "drug free" work place) to use a simple devise similar to the new 'do it your self" pregnacy testers but that uses a saliva sample.
That company, to the best of my recollection, also was in a situation as you describe. They were able to negotiate with the city a form of savings that allowed them to reduce outstanding shares through a buy back. From what I heard, (its a local company) they knew they had to lower the OS in order to move up (grow/increase investor interest) without causing a chilling effect on the spreading awarness in the market place of thier product. They could only do so by physically relocating to an area which was less costly to operate a business. They knew if they wentthe R/S route, the bulk of the investors who were local, would be hurt. The city and the company were able to come to an agreement which satisfied both parties because the city would gain or lose like the company except it would be losing jobs, tax income etc.
I don't know all the facts I only know what the rest of the community hears.
This is one of the things that puzzles me about R/S. I have seen personally only R/S's that were used for nefarious IMO, purposes but I have read posts where apparently the R/S helped a company grow. Like I said, I haven't seen one and with my limited experience can only imagine that for an R/S to work it could only do so with a company involved with a long established industry and not a company in a new industry that if it is to succeed needs to have the public become aware of their existence as it is, IMO the public that will provide the "market" or provide the "demand" and can only do so if it is aware of the very existence of the product and desire to use it. An R/S IM limited understanding would tell me the company is either not seeing things clearly enough to succeed or its all just a smoke screen.
This is where I am in my understanding the "effects" of a R/S. I know I’m probably wrong but I really want to understand how R/S's can be good to a new and emerging technologies growth. Can anyone help me understand better or at least give me a clue where to check out a situation where an R/S helped a new and unique company/product?
I don’t know if this makes sense, but I hope so as I really want to get my mind around this.
TIA,
Nez
Hi Gman,
Originally, from Jersey. Had to go west for a while & when 1st child was born we came back but Jersey had changed so we came to Bethlehem hoping to fit into the changing environment due to the Steels closing.
At first things looked bad but like I attempted to point out in the post, the original or "natives" of Bethlehem, "took the Bull by the horns" and due to their tenacity, farsightedness and above all a willingness to listen and try things from the “New Generation,” were able to court businesses which were part of new by providing incentives such as tax incentives, "tax free intermodal yard (combines rail, over road and air freight systems to interact) and a "Foreign Trade Zone", (this is also on the mills old site and is tax free for all manufacturers IF they assemble and ship their products from the zone. Companies can even bring in materials from out side the country, tariff free!)
I am not a business person but I believe they did all this because the many colleges here were included in the discussion and recommended and informed the "older generation" about the new technologies out there and pointed out, other areas of the country were not aggressively pursuing these types of companies. Bethlehem got the jump by customizing a business environment suiting the needs of, say a "nano" company. Other towns, city's etc. were not at the time aware of this.
Berlin NH, IMO, is in a very similar position as now the paradigm shift in business is towards "eco" friendly technologies and they have the chance to emulate Bethlehem.
JMO,
but they should strike while the iron is hot and I think they will if what happened here is any indicator.
Nez
I live in BETHLEHEM, PA named after the "Bethlehem Steel Corporation." When the "Steel" closed, they left Bethlehem the site of the nations 2nd largest toxic waste site. Rather than use their effort to block new technology the town put their efforts into exploring new and unique technologies as well as "courting" and attempting to lure these new companies and technology to the area to address the FIRST PRIORITY after losing THE main force and producer Bethlehem's economy which was the Steel Mill for over 100 years.
As a result Bethlehem is one of the fastest growing places in the US, in spite of the slump in the real estate market, the market here has not suffered nearly as badly as the rest of the country and the very technologies which they hoped would replaced the lost review of the area ended up providing a solution to the "waste" problem as well as providing the incentive to change laws which allowed Bethlehem to be one of the first places in PA to allow "slot machine" gambling. Many of the new technologies as well as the casinos and their supporting infrastructure (mucho jobs) are all located on top of the location of the "old mill", in the center of town.
Berlin, NH might realize there are unimaginable benefits which came to this town by changing with the times rather than fighting to return to the past. Sure there might be negative effects, but instead of bashing the technologies on a BB, they might use the time they are wasting posting, to study some places like Bethlehem, PA and how they "rose from the ashes of a toxic waste site.” In order to minimize any real or imagined negative effects of changing with the times. JMO and BTW my last post was misinterpreted by many and if I read the PM I got correctly, one person got it.
My opinion is obviously inconsequential but the story of “Bethlehem, Pa” is well documented mainly due to the impact "The Steel" had on the history of the country. “The Resurrection" of the town is part of that history which makes it that much easier to verify.
IMO, those posting as residents of Berlin NH could take similar steps if they really care about saving Berlin NH. The parables between Berlin, NH and Bethlehem are IMO very striking.
JMO,
Nez
Curious folks as to why the tone on the board yesterday IMO sounded like there was some type of concensus that the people of Berlin, where one of the projects is planned, didn't like the idea.
I realize this is an ole artical but it sounds pretty supprtive of the idea to me I am in this one at a level most here would laugh at so please keep accusations of me having an agenda to yourself. I am trying to find out if "The Whole Green Fad" is real or just another "back to mother earth fad. If it can't work in town where there ids the added benifit of cleaning a contamination mess, then I'd wager this will follow the Dead and TOFU. JMO,

Berlin, N.H., moves closer to large biomass energy plantMass High Tech: The Journal of New England Technology - Mass High Tech
Print Article Email Article Reprints RSS Feeds ShareThis
Laidlaw Berlin LLC, a Berlin, N.H., affiliate of New York City's Laidlaw Energy Group Inc., reports that last evening the city of Berlin Planning Board helped move forward the company's plans for a biomass-to-energy facility at an old paper mill site.
City planning members unanimously approved the subdivision of the former Fraser Paper pulp mill site, which was a major condition of the closing of the acquisition of the site by Laidlaw from the seller, North American Dismantling Corp. Laidlaw has proposed a 65-megawatt biomass energy facility at the site.
The Berlin project would convert the former Fraser Paper pulp mill site into a biomass-to-energy project that is expected to export approximately 60 megawatts of renewable energy to the New England power grid and use an estimated 750,000 tons of clean wood biomass chips per year.
The project involves a capital investment of approximately $65 million by Laidlaw and its partners and lenders, and is expected to employ 40 people directly and create more than 500 indirect jobs, according to officials. Once completed, the plant is expected to be among the largest and most environmentally advanced biomass-energy plants in North America.

OT, sort of-
I am trying to learn how to interpret what I think is DD. When I came across LLEG, I started out from the perspective of a simple novice investor's(trying to learn how to trade the right way this time) view and saw what appears to me anyway, to be a yearly “baby rally” in the early spring.
I then looked at some of the news posts about the activities of different zoning boards LLEG is dealing with.
The situation in Ellicottville NY, in my opinion has the odor of a local zoning board again (happens here all the time) feeling God-like and exercising the authority they feel, to ignore both what according to information from environmental experts, may be good and SAFE for their community and also something which has the potential to help the rest of the country by providing an example of how new “Green Energy” alternatives can help us both environmentally and economically.
At this point I wonder if theyearly “baby rally”(Ithink I see) may be greatly disrupted at anytime as the case in NY and the application in NH (Berlin?) can both be potentially settled any time and when that happens LLEG is not ever going to be at these levels again, IMO.
My opinion is based on the world we live. IMO we no longer have the choice of moving forward with these new technologies which offer alternatives to being slaves to the oil but we have to for economic, environmental and national security reason (the less we depend on other countries for our fuel the less the threat the pose will be.
I am asking if, when doing DD one should stay with technical indicators like the yearly “spring baby rally,” I think I see as well as the many others indicators I am becoming more aware of and which are available to use. Or in a situation like this should the focus be more weighted to the only thing standing in the way of success are factors DELAYING LLEG "going on line" due to local politics and procedural paperwork (the application in NH)? IMO if things are what they seem, when either or, or both of those obsticals are satisfied, LLEG can only become a success, IMO.
Other than that to me this seems inevitable this company is going to go and that could happen any time as it has been my experience legal rulings and application approvals happen suddenly after either a short or long delay. The thing here I keep getting stuck on is this is a company which is environmentally friendly, cost effective and is addressing a matter that has a huge urgency level. Finding sources of alternative energy which will not be at the cost of the environment.
In conclusion when one is doing DD and finds a situation like this one should do you look at this particular trade possibility, focused on the almost yearly “baby spring rally” and the many other financially based indicators or from the perspective that this federally approved alternate energy company (I say that as from what I understand they received a $1 M grant from the Federal Govt.) that may/will explode from that cycle simply due to a court deciding against the Ellicott zoning board and or what looks like likely approval at any time in Berlin NY. (I imagine either event or the two in combination will have the same positive impact on LLeg’s pps)
This seems like a really unusual company to look at so much so I am finding it hard to determine what aspect of DD is important. For the moment I am leaning toward watching for any negatives (finically) and assuming none occur then putting this one down as sort of like a stick of dynamite with the fuse lit but the fuse length is invisible?!.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can understand this post and then can give me their view!(just trying to learn but I think it is easy to get over loaded with information which I can't decide the importance of with low pps stocks like this.)
Nez
Thanks for the link sam. I am looking for any and all information like this. One can never have enough!
Nez
Hi ron,
I know what you mean as I too "have been there and done that."
I came across the stock because things here looked so familiar to a couple of past experiences.
To be honest, I feel like I "won" because I stayed out. I don't know if I actually learned something from the past or just got lucky!
I feel bad about anyone who "took the ride" as I know what it feels like. The way I have too look at things like this is that in the long run a person can win IF they remember past FUBAR situations and avoid repeating.

Just starting to look at this one and I was wondering if anyone knows if this issue is still around? You may have to cut and paste it into an address bar to view.

I think folks in general may be holding thier breath about "Gulf of Hormuz(??not sure of spelling)developments.
If hell breaks lose there oil prices might have a very negative ripple throughout the markets.
For the foreclosure markets I would guess they might benifit?
Any thoughts?

tldjr,
As I am trying to remove myself from the 49.999% of which you speak and I am going to approach things a bit differently than I might have in the past. In the past I would consider one thing at this point and that is since this is Fri. and quite a few don't like to hold over the weekend I would be selling about now wrongly thinking I could easily get back in on Monday morning.
Well not this time! I am guessing again but I am now thinking that there are investors with the horsepower and who have the experience and connections to make things appear like a pps drop but in the past when I sold on Friday in similar situations to this, I learned what a "rube" I was to have sold because come Monday, I couldn't buy back anywhere near where I sold. Now when I see something like we have now I wait. Probably wrong but in the past, by selling on Friday I pretty much consistently outsmarted myself. Not this time we'll in the near future if I am right or wrong!

It's probably just me but does anyone see a relationship between days when the major indexes are down big and GLLK reacts just the opposite being up strongly?

In for the long haul regardless of how expeditious PR's are! One thing which put GLLK on the radar for me. Based on the following as well as subsequent developments I am inclined to feel GLLK has a farsighted, well thoughout plan being executed by very capable management. This may be dated but as I said it got GLLK on the radar.

Global Links Corp. is a diversified company which has operations in Nevada, where it holds a commercial office building, Real Estate Gallerie, ltd., a full service real estate brokerage firm, and in Arizona where it holds approximately 1000 residential lots located in Kingman, Ariz., where it plans to build energy efficient, affordable, senior housing, and is developing affordable housing for the international community. In addition, the company is completing its R-E-Info.net foreclosure information website.
GLLK News:
November 14 - Global Links Corp. Approves Plan to Sell Kingman Real Estate for 8 to 10 Million Dollars
Global Links Corp. (OTC: GLLK) announced that the board of directors has approved a plan to sell its real estate holdings in Kingman, Arizona. The sales price will be between 8 to 10 million dollars, depending on the structure of the sale. At the present time, the company is negotiating with several developers that have expressed a strong interest in purchasing the property. "We feel that continuing to hold this property through this transition in the real estate market will not give us the best return, compared to the many lucrative opportunities that we see as a possibility with the cash proceeds this transaction gives us," stated Frank Dobrucki, CEO of Global Links. Global Links Corp. will now focus on running a full service real estate brokerage called the Real Estate Gallerie in Las Vegas, as well as participating in various development and acquisition projects.
I am glad I had been watching because when GLLK came off the low, I was ready to jump in and jump in I did! The water was and is fine!
IMO, GOINGUP11's post 3276,(thanks by the way GOINGUP11) , is one example of managements proactive approach and highlights thier willingness and ability to adapt to situations such as the the one pointed out. I think this type of action on the part of a management team is really refreashing after reading about many other companies which simply snivel in some form of PR, when faced with the same type of situation.
I for one am willing to remain invested for the long term in a company which is sticking with the plan while fighting a good fight for a good cause.
A PR didn't get me into GLLK and a late one won't get me out. As far as getting in further, the funds simply have to clear! I am in for the way, way, way longhaul, regardless!

Thanks again all. Coming across a group of people like one finds with ETIM has re-energized my belief that there is a greater level of good in the world than bad and it was very important to see this. I needed to see this very badly as I noticed I was adopting the same level of cynicism the world seems to have adopted. Even if by the infinitesimally small chance ETIM just breaks even I will still be ahead as I have found many people of common sense and compassionate wisdom. I know I am a better person for it. I won’t be posting much as I have much to learn as I have just gotten over the “Pride” stage of learning to trade and now realize I need to listen closer to learn as much as possible from people with firm bases. Please don’t take my lack of participation in the ETIM dialogue as anything other than lack of knowledge but if I do have something of substance to add, I will.
Happy 4th and thanks to all our service men and women sacrificing so we can do this,

Folks, especially the longs... A giant thanks for your perseverance, knowledge, patience and confidence. I almost missed what I feel is a once in a life time winner. I and many others who don’t even invest have become extremely excited and recognize right off the bat what ETIM is on the verge of achieving. They feel this is an incredible once in a life time "right place at the right time with the right product scenario."
I believe many people here, if they have the patience, will realize the dream of many if not all pk players and that is to find and hold onto a company which is destined for success like the Model T.
If it not for all of the consistent longs and their clear thinking and reliability, I may not have kept my focus and interest long enough to jump in. ETIM owes the real Longs here a real debt of gratitude as well as myself and others like me who learned so much from the longs here. JMO but very glad to have gotten on board, stayed on board and keep growing.

Just kidding I'm killing time so I don't go stir crazy and have to again say that three weeks ago I wrote all off and still consider things that way but if there are any things occurring indicating interest to the point of expending time energy and resources, then I chose optimism! No offense to anyone here as I have learned about so many more concepts and subjects in one month that I previously didn't even know about or that I at least hoped to learn some vocabulary. This has been the best learning stock play in my short career and I learned all I did due to the folks who persevered here while many others left only to check once in a while and request a synopsis. No big deal as they are the ones who missed out on much knowledge. Although I understand it is more fun to add to a discussion rather than just read, when you don't have anything substantive to add, IMO people who can add discussion encouraging ideas may begin to feel nothing said matters anyway and may stop posting.
Thank you all very much as I almost walked away from something I have really wanted to do most of my life. You folks made me rethink my motives. Thanks.

Yes but aren't we the voters responsible?
NEZ
I can't help it but I have to ask this as I haven't seen it yet and with all of the other ideas, which I withhold any criticism or support of as I can't say with a high enough degree of certainty I understand all of the different courses discussed but this one seems obvious as this is America.
Why not "strike," the on-line trading system just like a labor union would strike a company who they were is disagreement with? (I know, that was in the old days)
For example, people could finish any plays they have in progress but after break even or hopefully better, stop trading all together? If every person just stopped trading for a week and I ask this with all honesty
Does anyone have a sincere opinion, please skip the "this guy is a complete dope and I'm not even going to answer him stuff."
I know I'm not the only one to have this thought cross my mind. How would honest on-line brokers react? How would the government react? How would the markets in general react if at all?
It seems to me that the on-line trading industry is far beyond a small cottage industry and has a definitive impact on the overall markets. If this is denied then one at least has to admit that from MMs or Brokers to T/A suppliers to Fund. Analysis’s to news services all must be financially vulnerable to some degree or is there some type of form for this too? Maybe there is "loss of interest in trading insurance?" Seriously, I would love to hear a few opinions about what if any effect there would be. To be open I am of the opinion that anyone who says there would not be an effect is wrong, JMO.
Lets go so far as to say that this is a perfect storm in which everyone who ever lost money suddenly said I chose to invest my money for a month in gold coins or baseball cards but it is not going to the industry.
I think this is a question that if it absurd it will be able to be put to pasture ASAP.
At least give me a break and answer me in a PM if this type of talk is thought to be threatening.
It just seems that people with a vested interest in the online trading industry and especially the clever folks who cause these types of situations would be a bit concerned if the source of money were to stop. Has any type of strike ever happened in trading hitory and I mean one instigated by the investor?
I apologize if this upsets anyone but I always felt the dumbest questions are the ones not asked.
TIA,
Nez
PS- if anyone who member marked me is embarrassed for me or is concerned I have made an idiot of myself in public, don’t be concerned as I have considered the chance of loosing any credibility on the board and never having another question answered again and I still feel this is an intriguing question to take the chance. In the beginnings of labor organization, people never thought it would have a chance but it worked until it became so weak due to corruption of principles occurring and in cases rampant greed all due to the surrendering of the original ideals. It is, to me, similar to what happened to the Roman Empire as well as is currently happening to present powerful and advanced civilizations. I know so little but what I do know or at least am self assured of is that all declines began with ”Grey Area” and the pushing of the envelop.
JMO and I hope I'm still around tomorrow?.
We already have we're trading free shares remember? EM
HA HA HA good one! Puts things in persective, no? Good post - EM
IHMO, it is wrong to blame anyone but ourselves. Warnings are all over I-HUB regarding others advice as well as contained in many of old timers personal signatures. There are also educational sites throughout I-HUB, free of charge and supplied by those who have succeeded and now want to give something back.
This episode seems to have affected the whole spectrum of traders from the more experienced to less experienced. Unfortunately, the BHUB saga is part of gaining experience and I for one would rather have the generous, seasoned traders posting their thoughts and offering their past experience as an added option for us to learn from...if we so chose.
I am concerned if many start blaming the veteran traders for mistakes the less experienced, like myself made. Many of these sources of knowledge are going to say, "no more help, you’re on your own and go ahead and make the same costly mistakes we did during our trading educations.”
We all have added to our knowledge base and no one can take that from us. Yeah it hurts right now but maybe this will help us all in the future to avoid a similar scenario.
Again, IMO, for the many people trying to learn,
it would be a great loss of a valuable pool of knowledge, if the respected and experienced traders go silent due to being blamed for something they were not responsible for.
JMO and GLTA,
